What should be the baseband version on nougat firmware NPJS25.93-14-4?
And how to know the modem version and is that correct for the firmware version?

The baseband for the 93-14.4 firmware looks to be the same as that for the 93-14 update: M8952_70030.25.03.62R (this is from a G4 plus, dual SIM). Important bit to look out for is the last part of the baseband (easiest way to check is under Settings>about phone, which should show you your baseband modem version)
To the best of my knowledge, basebands ending in:
.62R - 93-14 (v7.0, Dec 2016 patch) and 93-14.4 build (v7.0, March 2017 patch)
.60R - 93-11 build (v7.0, Nov 2016 patch)
.52R - 75.2 build (soak test, v7.0, Oct 2016 patch)
.45R and .48R - Marshmallow builds (v6.0.1, not sure if this was the 139.63 or earlier builds)

And is that the modem version? Or that's something else?

I have an issue with my phone, don't know if this is the right place to talk but still, actually at my place i don't get proper internet speed(around .5mbps) whereas other phone gets around 10 to 20mbps speed i don't know what's wrong u even tried flashing the latest firmware(because i sick to 6.0 because of xposed) but still the same, and I other places(other than my house)i get proper speed, does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?
Thanks

I think that's the baseband modem version, though someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Bluetooth broadcasts/receives on similar frequencies to Wi-Fi and could interfere with Wi-Fi - I saw multiple threads on the official Motorola forums about having slow Wi-Fi issues and Bluetooth, hence asking if you have Bluetooth on and/or paired.

Okay, though there wasn't a mention of mobile internet, my apologies.
Have you tried your Jio SIM in another device, just to ensure it's not the network/tower congestion near your home? How are you testing speeds and what's your signal strength like? Also, which ROM are you running?

Yeah i tried the sim on my moms phone and it works great, network is around 80 percent, like i said all other phones work pretty well except this one, and the issue is just in my house(even though my house is pretty much in open area) in other places like in my office i get proper speed.
I'm on stock(rooted with xposed) 6.0

The next logical thing to do may be to flash the stock ROM back onto your device, see if your signal improves (of course, this would remove xposed, TWRP, and root, plus potentially your data). If not, might be due to a hardware issue (and would need another service visit).

Data Drops after Flash 12B Modem

Wondering help on this..I had flashed the 12B Modem while on the latest Verizon Unofficial CM11 Rom, But i experience lots of data drop. I flashed 12A but experience the same..So I jump back to 11A Modem, still having data drop constantly where I cant make calls or anything. Any suggestions? Hoping this can straighten out without me having to revert to stock rom, Plus I'm with T-Mobile on this Verizon G2.
Never had this issue til I flash modem to begin with. Only did so too see if my T-Mobile would get better coverage while on a Verizon G2..
Any suggestion or help would be gladly appreciated.
u dont have nandroid of previous CM11 prior to flash new modem?
I have had horrible luck with data on all AOSP roms running any modem. My phone usually has 1 or two bars of 3g but upon a restart or manually forcing LTE only I get great LTE coverage and speeds for a few minutes until it drops back down to 3g. Here's an album with screen shots showing my average 3g signal and when i force LTE only. imgur / a / 6fZK2 (Add .com & Remove spaces, cant post links yet)
Anyone else have this problem? Currently running the latest 12/26 CM11 nightly and the latest 12B modem. I figured the problem was not having updated modems for 4.4 as I had similar problems on my Gnex

WiFi connections problems - baseband?

Hello,
since I installed Nougat to my G4 Plus, first stock, then lineageos 14.1, I have problems with the wifi connections... every know and then, it just disconnects. I observed this behavior at many wifis, not just mine at home.
Does someone else have this problem? Which baseband are you using? Are you using dual SIM?
I got the baseband M8952_70030.25.03.62R.
Thanks for your help!

I'll concur with this. On both 2.4 and 5GHz as well as over 4G, my connection will drop every so often.
Nothing life-changing, but somewhat annoying. I'm on the Nougat RETUS radio.

Same as yours; 70030.25.03.62R
I also have the same issue since the official Nougat update. Any ideas as to what it could be. Very annoying.
I have the same issue, it's very random and sometimes the wifi will not re-connect, I must manually connect to re-establish it. I have attempted to discover what if anything I am doing which may be causing it to occur with no real answers. I find it more than mildly annoying as it results in my connection timing out. Sometimes I may go hours without an incident, other times it is perpetual and constant. I believe that it may be caused by faulty hardware or firmware for the wifi radio as I have been incapable of discovering any evidence to suggest that this is widespread enough to be related to Nougat. That being said I did not have this problem until completing the official update on my phone which was completely stock at the time it was initially completed. My only course of action at this point is to A. rely on someone far more intelligent with this device to fix it. B. replace it with a different device
Same here. Very annoying when using VOIP etc. I tried both M and N basebands and different roms/kernels.
The problem might be due to the router settings.
Try to update firmware of check your wifi channel.
Wifi connectivity problem after ROM upgrade: baseband VS Llineage VS stock ROM
I flashed the newest clean stock firmware NPJS25.93-14-18 on XT1625
baseband M8952_70030.25.03.62.02R Athene_RetUSA
Then I flashed Llineage-14.1-20180815 and observed problems with Wifi, mostly with old WEP protocol.
Then I downgraded to stock ROM NPJS25.93-14-7-8
baseband M8952_70030.25.03.64.01R Athene_RetUSA.
Wifi connection seemed to be OK on stock NPJS25.93-14-7-8.
So is the wifi problem resolved with baseband M8952_70030.25.03.64.01R?
Not exactly so. After I flashed Llineage-14.1-20180815 with GApps (nano) , the wifi problem re-appeared despite having "good" M8952_70030.25.03.64.01R
So baseband is the same, but Andoid 7.0 stock ROM handles wifi better than the latest Lineage. Or is Google apps and software is involved?
The problem was discussed on Motorola forum
The problems seem not to be limited to Moto G4 only, but clearly appeared after upgrading to newer firmware. It might have something to do with tightening security in resent Android and Google firmware as Wifi WEP protocol considered outdated and of low security . However, some people reported problems with Wifi WPA protocol, too

H990DS(TWN) - Upgrade/Refurbish to other Regional ROM version

Good day to all.
I recently bought a V20, a Taiwan version H990DS, so with a TWN ROM. The latest TWN ROM is from last year. Is it possible to flash to the newer Singapore ROM? (SEA)
Like this one : H990ds10e_00_OPEN_SG_DS_OP_0314.kdz (10 april 2017)
I now have :
BASEBAND : MPSS.TH.2.0.1.c3-00027-M8996FAAAANAZM-1.77269.3.79643.3
KERNEL : 3.18.31
BUILD NUMBER : NRD90M
SOFTWARE VERSION : V10c-TWN-XX
MODEL NUMBER : LG-H990ds
I have experience with flasing rom's, but only at Samsung devices. LG is new for me. But I have read the threads around here how to flash a new ROM.
I hope somebody can give me a answer to my question. Thanks in advance!
Greetings from The Netherlands
Hello
someone actually managed to do it, so it seems doable, and fairly easy I'd say.
I was tempted to do it myself, and still am, but then I was just hoping LG would come around with a new update to avoid me all this nuisance...

Hi @buongu
It is just one person who switched his ROM, (@Mattfly93)
On Samsung devices, like the S7, it was a piece of cake switching ROM with ODIN. The risk was very minimal.
I wonder how high the risk is switching ROM with the LG V20 H990DS using LGUP.
there were others too, a guy here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/help/australian-f-h990ds-t3551066) tried out different ROMs to find better suiting apn settings; other guys too, actually a lot of people with the H990DS seems to be into this subject

Are you going to change ROM version? And what is the reason to change it?
What are the differences between the Taiwan(TWN) and the newer Singapore(SEA) ROM?

Yes I'm definitely considering a change. Mainly because they keep receiving updates, I don't know the details, but it seems like there have been a few improvements in the audio compartment as well (which is what I care most about), practically every version had them expect for the h990ds twn. SEA seems to be the one getting updates on a regular basis, so that's the one I'm looking at
there shouldn't be any real difference, same apps, same sw release, just a few fixes ahead so hopefully less glitches.

I don't enjoy this kind of tweaking anymore
I used to, when updates were scarce and custom ROMs were pretty much the only way to prolong a smartphone's life... but nowadays companies promise a 2 year support for all their devices, so why do we still need to put up with boring and elaborate actions like this?
and there's a chance we won't see any future OTA either, judging from the info I have found it will still be recognized by your software as from TWN, but the update won't match any of the ones for TWN or the ones for SEA, so from that moment on manual updating is all you have... and THAT pisses me off

I can understand your feelings about this and to be honest, I share them. I am not afraid of switching ROM from TWN to SEA, i think that will go without any problem. But after that it is manual updating, that is something I did not realised. I have to think about this, but the chance I will manually update is big. The updated software and, most important, the security updates can not be ignored. We will keep in touch. Thanks for your opinion.
I would like to know if I can safely use the 'Refurbish' option in the LGUP tool for changing my TWN(Taiwan) Rom to SEA(Singapore) Rom?
Or do I have to use the 'Upgrade' option?
I am currently on the India ROM, which was last updated in January. Also seriously thinking of switching to the SEA ROM. My only concern is if VoLTE will work on it -- currently, I use a Jio 4G SIM. Does anyone know if SEA will support it?
I also have a S7 Edge, and when I changed ROMs on it (from India to UK ROM), VoLTE stopped working. I had to flash back the INS ROM to get it to work again. Does the same happen with LG ROMs? That is, are regional variants of LG ROMs unique?

https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/v20-kdz-restore-failing-9-completing-fix-t3546817
I took the plunge and it did not go off well! A few observations.
1] I was trying to switch from INS to SEA. Refurbish option did not work -- throws up errors when installation reaches 4 per cent.
2] Upgrade option went off without errors but I ended up with cust id mismatch error after reboot. I think Upgrade leaves a few files behind that are related to firmware region. However, you can dismiss these warnings and use the phone. I also ended up with device failed to decrypt error, but that was sorted with a factory reset.
3] VoLTE (from Jio in India) does not work on the SEA firmware.
4] The SEA firmware felt smoother and more responsive than INS one from January. I also see a few SG specific apps.
5] Have now restored back to the INS firmware by downloading the appropriate KDZ file.
6] Now hoping LG wakes up soon and ports the SEA update to other regions!
Thankfully, the LGUP tool is pretty reliable, and if you are used to ODIN, you will be at home here. I would suggest you go ahead and check it out. Maybe it will work for your region...
I just did the same from TWN to SEA, and surprisingly VoLTE is there!
I see it in the shortcuts, I have no use for it because neither of my carriers support it, but it's there

That's interesting. I did not have this option on SEA. I guess it is carrier specific. From my experience with Samsung S7 Edge, relevant carrier strings had to be present in the CSC file/ folder for VoLTE to work.
If root was available for our device, then perhaps this issue can be fixed.

For India, the latest update listed on that site is from April 1. But I don't see it in the downloads section. Does it take over a month for the firmware to be actually available?!
Does any of these dual sim firmware enable band 66?

MI A1 Network fluctuation with custom ROM

Hey Folks, as we all know how stock ROM sucks, I remained on custom ROM to max extend. But sadly I have to revert to stock due to network fluctuation issues. I use Jio as my primary and Airtel in SLOT 2. Fluctuation is widely seen in slot 1 which is reported by many others as well in respective ROM thread.
I have tried methods flashing custom modem image and network signal guru. But none seems to fix the case.
Anyone aware of other methods to fix the network fluctuation issues seen in custom ROMs? May be using any custom kernel?
Please help me to remain in custom ROM!
Cheers,
Hari.
Same here all cust rom has this network fluctuation issue and it is to do with the code. It seems if any one can fix this. It will be great..

The same, please helppppppppppppppppp!!!!
Noticed the same on Vodafone AU, no matter what network mode I set it to. Even on 3G only I get drop outs and fluctuations.
I'm hoping it's just some extra modem related package or service missing from the vendor blobs, but I've not had time to look into it yet (with my limited skills in this area).
For me also lot of fluctuations. Sometimes totally black signal bar. Hope somebody can fix it. I fixt it for now with automate and set network to 2g when on wifi and after lock screen when I am on mobile network.
Modem zip in forum don't solve it for me and also lock some bands with signal guru didn't do the trick.
Hope somebody can solve it a lot of people are suffering this problem.

Same issue I have been facing, I had re-partitioned my device for Treble using CosmicDan's guide so that I can try all the best custom roms out there and get all updates as they are released but when I faced this issue, I had no choice but to revert back to Android One rom, undoing all the process

Probably resetting modem settings, assuming you've made any.
China only uses maybe 5 bands, and most of the population doesn't often travel far from home; so roaming and tower switching isn't an issue. That, and a power management issue I think are responsible for our network issues.
My money is on these devices working perfectly in the motherland.
Faced the same , almost on every custom ROM .Jio 's volte doesn't work most of the time. Switched to January stable stock twrp with magisk . Now everything is stable , no volte issues at all .
Now my question is , the issue is with ROM or modem file ? As you guys are saying that it is a modem issue ..as now I am on January stable modem , I will try to flash a latest build of any custom ROM and will report .

There's a TWRP flashable May modem patch somewhere in the MiA1 forum. I've flashed it and the results aren't perfect, but circumstances have improved.
I have tried all March, April and May modems and all have problems with custom ROMs and network fluctuations for me. (IND Airtel operator) and even 3G is fluctuating with state owned BSNL. January is the only one I haven't tried which I will after getting a reply from sikoo1996.
I have very limited knowledge of these matters and so far all my attempts with dialer code menu or settings or Network Guru have all failed. Guess I will ditch this phone and stick to my S5.

I dunno if it actually works for everyone but,
Swapping the SIM card slot worked for me.
Using RR latest. I also flashed stock modem.img but that didn't fix the problem then. It's fixed now by swapping SIM slot.
Hey guys. Try flashing the latest modem and then, go oh ahead to *#*#4636#*#* and select network mode to TD-SCDMA/CDMA/UMTS . ?

Why can't downgrade to android pie?

Hello Why we can't downgrade from android 10 to android 9 even with root ? Can someone please explain to us what's the technical difficulties or issues ? Or how do we proceed in order to downgrade, Thanks :fingers-crossed:
I can downgrade to Pie by flashing Ultimate pie 4. But after I activate developer options my phone reboots regularly. Now I use Q again.
You can maybe downgrade using custom roms but you can't flash full stock because bootloader doesn't allow to be downgraded
is sticking on pie the best bet if youre on stock?

I don't know if it's the best thing to do or not, but it's your choice ? I'm still on pie too
For me, we have two a20 at home, for my own a20 I'm not planning to upgrade at all ? and will stick to pie, but for the other a20 I'm waiting for it's OTA upgrade to Q, then I can compare them

Hi, thanks for the firmware, Does it require root access? Or we can flash it through odin and downgrade our stock rom without problems ?

Yes , but the ota upgrades are kinda slow for the a205f, in fact I'm still on January patch and it tells me there is no firmware updates at this time, it's been 4 months ??
Once Q is available I'll post a thread comparing it to pie

Listed for the a20f. Will it work on the a205u boost mobile version?
Mine just got ota update to v10 last week. I also renewed my monthly plan the other day. Sprint and tmobile have now merged and i was reading that sprint was going bye bye (boost is sprints prepaid).
So, ive been running my hotspot with vpn for several months now to circumvent the hotspot data cap. Well this month it drained my hotspot data right away
Lots of changes this month, between the carrier merger and the os update, so not sure which is to blame.
Im not rooted, but in v9, was able to edit the apn by dialing ##data# followed by 000000 to access the service menu. In v9 i had edited the apn to remove xcap, and add dun, fota, hipri (could tap on very far left edge of apn field to allow edit. Dont know if it mattered regarding hotspot vpn thing, but figured it was step 1). Now, in v10, i cant edit the apn at all.
Cant tell if thats the issue or if an os or provider side change.
So long and short of it, im really regretting the upgrade cause my only other options are satellite or pay for actual hotspot plan. And the os doesnt have any major improvements that ive niticed. Its a little more polished, but nit at all worth this mess...if its the cause

I have the A205U version and I downgraded in Odin back to Pie. i have the t-mobile variant and the binary was 5 on the update for android 10 and i found a version of Pie that was also on binary 5 and it worked. Check samfrew and if you find one, just flash the BL, AP, CP and CSC (not home) files and once you erase it, you should be good to go. I liked 10 but my bluetooth range was super low with it for some reason no matter which earphones i used and it was too annoying. also, i think i had lower battery life
