Hi everyone
Few days ago when I entered Kies to see if there are any updates for my firmware there was a message there's a new update so I installed it via Kies.
On the other hand, when I checked at the same time through the settings of the device I was told that I have the latest firmware.
My question is why is it?
Why the OTA service told me that I have the latest firmware and at the same time the Kies told me there is a new update.
Is there a problem with the rom?
I must say I have the BTU stock rom but I'm not from England, but from Israel.
Do I need to be from England to get the OTA?
Thanks in advance
No. I'm from Israel and I've got same thing. Same thing with Galaxy S3. AFAIK, there was always a discrepancy between OTA and OKIES updates.

So you mean that OTA updates always come with delay of few days after Kies?
BTW, you have also the BTU stock rom?
I wouldn't know about days, but I've never had the same update be available via both routes.
Also, I've got the EMJ9 RIM, but mine is downloaded manually, since my phone is rooted. Long story short, before I manually installed 4.3, I updated via Kies (after which my phone failed to boot, allegedly since it was rooted).

Anyway, you say next time I can even not check for Kies and the update will arrive through OTA to my device sooner or later after it is released via Kies, right?
I wouldn't count on it. While I regularly check via OTA just for the fun of it. But mostly every time I ever updated was via Kies, rather than OTA.

Yeah but you said it will arrive eventually to both - Kies and OTA. Just Kies will arrive earlier.
No, what I said is that as far as I know there is a difference in time, between when the updates arrive to Kies and OTA. I'm quite sure the update will arrive OTA too, but that could be a week, or that could be a few months, that I can't tell you :-\

Oh OK that's fine with me. I doubt that it would take months but week or so it sure can take.
Is any one else still waiting on the march ota update coming through? I have a 6p and a Nexus 9 and neither have received the update yet but I see a lot of people have received it.
Further more I have also registered my n9 for the android n beta 2 days ago and have still not received an update for that either.
Does Google just hate me and not want to send updates to my house or are other people waiting also?
Both phones are stock and never rooted. I'm in the UK
Just sideload the OTA, and you won't have to wait any longer. Link to the 6P OTAs...

I was running the N preview via OTA. I opted out of the beta and instantly got the OTA to go back to Marshmallow. Once I booted into Marshmallow, I got the OTA for the March build.

In Singapore, we even don't have that 3 months old update yet. i'm currently on V10D and the phone said it's the latest.

If you are enrolled in beta program but are using non-beta stock, you could try unenrolling from beta. My friend did it and he got an update instantly which otherwise he wouldn't.

There is no harm in checking.
Anyways, google improved ota system quite recently(around 1-2 weeks ago). When you manually check for ota, there is 100% chance that you will get the ota if it exists. It sounds too good to be true, but it is. Check that out.
So if you dont get ota, then something is really wrong.

I suggest you try enrolling and subsequently unenrolling from android beta program at android.com/beta
Maybe that will shift you to the proper ota queue?

No answer for you. Just wanted to throw in that my updates seem to have quit after manually pushing Oreo.

Definitely unenroll. No reason to be in the beta program now. Even if you are stock with a locked bootloader you can manually sideload a full OTA. There are many tutorials on how to do this.

i'm actually asking for my second N6P which my mom uses, which is why i'm hoping there's a way to fix this without having to sideload since i'd have to do it with her via TeamViewer....
is it necessary to unlock the bootloader to do this or can i just flash the latest factory image or OTA with the bootloader locked via ADB?
Linkk to the beta program is https://www.google.com/android/beta
Getting the OTA's fine. Latest one I have is September 5th, so expecting Octobers any time soon.
Guys, I mentioned beta program because you are supposed to UNenroll from it to get normal updates. Remember that.

It was just a suggestion. It didn't work for the OP either. I wonder what could be the real problem.
What carrier are you guys on btw?

I also haven't received an OTA update in quite a while. The latest update I was able to receive OTA is the August patch.
I enrolled and un-enrolled from the beta program with the hope that the Oreo OTA would push but only got 7.1.2.
It's a little unusual. I factory reset also after un-enrolling just to see clean it out, to get rid of any bugs that be preventing the OTA. Didn't work.
I would rather not have to sideload the OTA since I always make mistakes with ADB and command prompt.
I am on Project Fi fyi.
Hi everybody,
I have some problems with software update in my Mi A1 (NOT ROOTED), in fact I haven't received the February update. I searched on google how to receive it by OTA and I have installed Google Play Services (version 12.2.20 (940-188493604) from apkmirror) but anything appeared. Can someone help me?
bye bye and thanks
I didn't received it either. So what. Just wait. Why is February update so important for everybody?

They probably discovered a problem. They are not likely to tell us what.
Either way, it was just a small patch that didn't make any noticable difference for me, so no big deal if you didn't get it. There will be others.
ok because I was waiting it before rooting my phone. in this case I procede with the root and then I'll see how to flash the next patch without lost the root
i also didnt recieved the feb security update now what to do

Have you installed the new Google play service apk?

Maybe they are pushing it out in batches and you might receive it in sometime(some days).
