Left my local bestbuy last night and a couple blueshirts there told me that they would be releasing the S7 and S7 Edge this Monday. I was pre-ordering and asked when it came out and they told me I could pick it up on monday.
So if you preordered from bestbuy i'd recommend calling them and seeing if they are also releasing it early.
I don't know how truthful BestBuy is. I got my pre-ordered T-Mobile S7 on the 3rd of March and was told by my local BestBuy store that they had the Otterbox cases in stock for the S7. So I drive over to the store and find out that they have the cases in stock but won't be releasing them until the 11th of March because that's when the phones will be released. I will NOT be going back to BestBuy again!

I bought a surround sound system from them a month ago. He told me i was gonna get a discount and hed hook me up with an hdmi and optical cable. Then he was tryin to talk me into joinin their "rewards program" it was like every $100 you get a dollar or something. I was like, "it'd take me so long, im good" but i bought a tv a couple months before so he said i could get credit for that aswell. So finally i said, "well, your not gonna send me a bunch of emails if i sign up are you". He said, " haha noooooo"!
Long story kinda shortened.
I paid full price for the SS system.
I got a wopping $5 off a used hdmi cable. Which was $20
Paid full price for optical audio cable $25
Then at the end i said oh can we add my tv to the rewards program. (Of course the salesman left so i was left with some kid to check me out)
He said, "oh man we'd have to call customer service and i dont think theyd do it anyway"

The following weeks im flooded with best buy emails, i unsubscribe at least 10 times with no stop to it. Finally have to call a 800 number and scream at them to make it stop.

big thread on reddit about this: multiple best buy mobile employees confirmed it, and users who went there confirmed it. people got calls to pickup on monday too.
pisses me off bc i chose shipping instead of in store (for the first time ever with best buy) bc i was worried they'd run out of stock before my preorder was fulfilled, so i wouldn't be able to walk in friday and get it. did shipping, thinking they'll def have enough in a warehouse.
yeah, and now they release early lol. so mad.
Pre ordered from Best buy about 2 hours after they started taking pre orders and I haven't received notification yet.

They had no idea what I was talking about, and reaffirmed the 11th as the release date. This was yesterday, today my GF got a call that our phones have arrived and that we can pick them up tomorrow.

My preorder confirmation said they would Email me when the items were ready. By chance, did they mention if the Gear VR was ready for pickup also?

Sorry, She didn't think to ask about the Gear VR. I'll call to ask. Our preorder confirmation states the same about notification of pickup.

Same thing happened to me. They had a Samsung rep there and I even showed him the phone, still wouldn't sell it. I went to U.S. Cellular, AT&T and even the new T-Mobile store in my town but neither had cases yet. Verizon store had the stuff out on display already so i bought my case and screen protector there.
I wondered who the *#&@ cares if I buy a piece of plastic for a phone that isn't "out yet"? I am giving you money, why do you care?! It was dumb as f.

Just got off the phone with my local BestBuy, they said that it should be no problem. She mentioned it would be FCFS based on available stock, dunno if this means you can get one shipped later, or if you are sol.
Well...that's kind of strange. The Best Buy website now shows the expected release date for the phone on my order as: "Null"?
The other 2 items still show expected release of 3-11-2016.
Edit: They just now changed the expected release date to 3-7-2016.

Yeah. I ordered two actually, got two seperate emails. I tried looking them up, but it says the name and phone number are wrong, didnt say anything about order number being wrong.

Has anyone walked into an AT&T corporate store today and picked up the s7 edge a day early. I'm at work right now but would love to go pick one up when I get off. I know I got my note edge and s6 edge plus a few days early but wasn't sure if s7 edge would be the same way. I know bestbuy and target have better deals right now if I have to wait till tomorrow I'll go there but I'd miss out on the promos just to get it today.

They gave us SUCH a hard time yesterday. we went at 8 (hour before they close) and they would not sell it to me. It sucks because I asked if they have it in stock and if I should wait since there were 5 ppl infront of me. Lady goes "yeah, I have all 3 colors in stock. It's now my turn and they said they can't sell it to me. Why the hell did you tell me to wait then!?
So I bought the phone online and did a pick up for today. Then they would not honor the BOGO deal because I had already purchased the initial phone. ended up calling the retention line and saying I'm leaving if you can't honor the BOGO. they said we'll honor it and that was it. It was such a mess. every year it's something else when we upgrade phones. Really consiering leaving AT&T... sorry for my rant

Went from the Note 7, then bought a Nexus 6p.
Figured I'd take a shot at LG for the very first time. Hearing the BL is locked is sort of a bummer. Hopefully things will get worked out sooner rather than later.

I saw v20 stock at my store when I preordered on Friday... But they wouldn't let me leave with one. Stupid Sprint corporate.
I even called and chatted with sprint and they wouldn't do anything for me. They keep sending me texts to trade in my note 7, but wouldn't let when I tried.

I called my local store to see if they had stock and was told yes. I proceeded to unroot and relock my bootloader on my Nexus 6 to have it ready for swap (payment plan upgrade). Got my two kids in the car and headed to the store. Got there and they have no idea what I'm talking about but after some prompting decided to check their inventory. They say they have 6 in Titan but then the store manager can't find them, and basically tell me to go order it online as it won't be in store till the 25th and they couldn't sell me one anyways if they did have stock. I really just wanted to see and feel the phone, everything else I'm sold on. But the attitude I got when we are talking about hundreds of dollars worth of hardware and service, really astounds me. Anyway the moral of the story is YMMV as far as getting a v20 in store before the 25th. Smh I wanted silver anyways.....
it's a verizon store, what did you expect? everytime i goto corporate stores, they're all ignorant a**holes. i hate corporate verizon. i used to run an authorized retailer, and people would constantly tell us nightmare stories of corporate stores, and all i would do is agree, because i felt the same way. they're idiots, and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Long story short: I had a temp phone (V10) and couldn't get V20 until V10 was returned. So online wasn't an option for me.

That sucks. I got lucky I guess. I'm thrilled too - this is by far the best phone I've ever used (including the Note 7 which I had for a month).
Its funny, now that I had to go back to stock, I decided to flash a Nuget ROM and now I'm not sure if I want to upgrade, my n6 still really holds its on with new software.
My Verizon zone (authorized retailer) said not until Friday. After reading this, I think I'm gonna call every day lol.

Ended up ordering after the cut off to have it shipped Saturday but I got my tracking info this morning and gets here tomorrow. Really looking forward to ths phone, I had to return my Note 7 and Samsung still shipped my my 256GB SD card for Free.

Same thing with me, but I got the s7 edge after my Note 7. Man, s7 edge software felt so half-baked compared to the Note 7. Also, the Note 7 curved back makes a huge difference when you hold the phone. I am returning my s7 edge and getting my v20 on wednesday and using my 256gb samsung card.
Quick question for those of you that got yours through verizon. Does it come with a factory screen protector? I'll be getting mine tomorrow and I have a case for it, but I couldn't seem to find a screen protector that was worth a damn. I really don't want to go naked until I find one if I can help it.

Yes it comes with a screen protector that can be used. Just has a small pull tab on it.
Yeah, its a cheap plastic screen protector. I'll keep it on till it bubbles up or starts to peal off.

Im waiting/hoping to see if bootloader is unlocked on arrival, we will see

I was considering the otterbox, but looking at the sons S7e with the OB it's just so bulky, I prefer something a little slimmer. Since you ordered direct from Samsung are they shipping the Gear VR with the phone? Not sure what your chances are on the bootloader, it will be interesting to see. Be sure to let us know.

Virgin huh, how much bloatware do you anticipate? I used to buy all my phones outright so never had to deal with carrier crapware. Although when I went with Telstra I was pleasantly surprised, only one app! Trusty old Note 3 (good phone), I had mine until the S6e+, which will be retired as soon as the S8 ships..

I beleive so, the gear was included in the checkout.
I like the defender, i drop phones all the time, cant be helped with me, need that faceplate.

Sweet!, hopefully they ship them together for you. When I ordered from Telstra they gave the impression it will ship with the phone, but if you read the t&c's it clearly states via redemption .

Good to see an Aussie S8+ thread. Ordered S8+ from Vodafone on the 31st. Looking forward to a bigger screen again (have S7 Edge Duos) after only having Notes until I had to hand my N7 back. This should suffice. Keen to try out dex should help with my work
Ordered a black S8+ from Vodafone on 31/3 morning straight away. Just received the Spigen case and also preordered a Ringke case and Tagg tempered glass screen protector. Now looking forward to picking up the phone and waiting for bootloader to get unlocked

Which Spigen did you go for? I ordered the Ultra Hybrid Hard Clear to tide me over until my preorder of the Wallet S arrives.

Thanks for the kind words. Not sure about a custom rom but who knows. I wasn't going to do one for my S7 but ended up running my own build. Didn't release it though as I just don't have time to maintain and support a thread. It was seriously affecting my real work and family life.
Been running stock rom for a month or so now though as I wanted to try Android Pay and some other things that are now limited with root (or tripped knox). Not sure yet if I'll even root my S8 but I haven't a very good record of sticking to that. All my devices have been rooted on the first day, ha ha. I'll see how long I can hold out this time

I know what you mean on all accounts. I didn't root my last phone cause I like NFC payment too much. It sucks not having the customisability, but now I couldn't live without tap and pay on my phone. I just found something else to tinker with to sooth my ORD.

Been trying to backup without root on my s6 sing Helium, but for some reason it stops at the Desktop Password. It's set to blank, but no matter what I do, no dice
Is this the only way I can backup all my app data etc to transfer to my S8+ ?
I am not expecting root for the s8+ for a while, but would like to transfer all my stuff across to the new phone.
Messages are backed up to the cloud using MySMS, so that's no issue. Contacts are on my G account.

Pre-ordered from Harvey Norman on an Optus plan here in Sydney. Got the confirmed Gear VR and a clear view case for free.

Thats a good idea. I'll have my S7E to play with I guess and my Tab S is running my own rom. I have found I have become increasingly reliant on Android Pay so I understand that.

You guys do know if you bank with westpac they do allow nfc pay with root right?
And your better off using a bank as a method because im sure android pay or samsung pay charge fees were westpac does not.

I don't bank with Westpac. Also Android Pay doesn't charge any fees.
On another note got an email from Vodafone today saying my order has progressed and expected delivery is 19/04/17. Looking forward to getting this device soon
