I remember reading in some webs that those options are there, but cannot find it on my L29C636B563. My carrier has specifically turned on these features for my phone number, but they are not present in Settings. Has anybody used these on Mate 8?
I am not clear what VoWifi is. But I do use VoLTE on my mate 8 now.

Android 7.0, EMUI 5.0, AL10.
Even after the local operator turned on VoLTE for my specific phone number, I was not able to use it. Today, after upgrading ROM to 586, this shows up now.
FYI... for statistical purposes , USA user, L29B185C560, the option is not available.
Must be in later builds?

My Mate 8 is Version NXT-L29 C636 B594 - Android 7.0 / EMUI 5.0.1 -
and don´t have the Option "VoLTE calls" in the Mobile-Network menu.
My Network prorvider in Germany, is o2-Telefonica, and my SIM is LTE and VoLTE enabled.
Do you know a way, to enable the VoLTE menu entry,
for Mate 8 L29C636 ??

I think you should contact your carrier. Your provider network should support VoLTE and it should enable the service for you.

Go to system > vendor > buld.prop then edit it and put that 2 lines same in screen shot1

~Download the ims.zip from below and extract it so that you will get a file called ims.apk. Now drag and drop it to the system>vendor>app>ims>.ims.apk in the volte patch folder and replace the existing ims.apk (Click overwrite if asked)
Copy and paste the original ims file incase you want to go back to HD icon
After that flash the new zip via any custom recovery and reboot New Volte Icon will Appear instead of HD Icon

This is surprising because in MIUI8, when you enable VoLTE in Sim settings, the icon in status bar is VoLTE and not HD. Attached is screenshot from my mobile. Pls see.

I've downloaded the emui 5 yesterday and my wifi hotspot is notworking and i found this bug since after updating to b151 and the problem still exists can anyone help me to solve this problem and wifi is working fine and can able to connect to anywifi network only hotspot is notworking... And i also tried network reset still exists and also jio4g app is notworking shows offline

Have u registered for beta EMUI 5? If not then u won't be getting this beta update. The public release of EMUI 5 will be in april last.

I think I've read that you need YouTube Reb for picture in picture. You could try the YouTube vanced app here on xda.

I noticed that Samsung removed the "Identify unsaved number" function with the Oreo update.
since the function was based on Hiya I've installed the Hiya app but it's far away from what the inbuilt one was. Samsung's function had definitely more data sources to identify unknown numbers (for example Yelp). maybe too many because I heard it caused conflicts with data protection laws and was therefore removed.
does anyone have an idea how to get this option back? I think installing the Nougat dialer could do the trick, but without root that's probably impossible.
any clues here?

I have the same problem. I can't activate it. My rom is rooted and i have installed the BTU csc for oreo but didn't solved it.

[emoji1] Try to flash the oreo csc file and see if it help you. (Don't forget to backup) keep in mind that there is a problem (at least for me) with app lock option.

This update is already came in EEA version (August 6th) but as 12.0.2.0 version with July SP and the same bugfixes...
VoLTE icon is the same as on mine device from the begining...
For those who could get tired waiting for the OTA to pop-up....here's the link : miui-blockota-lmi_global-V12.0.1.0.QJKMIXM-V12.0.3.0.QJKMIXM-a119e459e0-10.0
@Linuxkek to activate VoLTE just tap *#*#86583#*#* in your phone dialer app
That will activate it and you'll see it now in SIM settings.

I got VoLTE from the first day but no icon on status bar, only in call history
Please, what is VoLTE? I see that everywhere here. And sorry for the off-topic!

VoLTE - Voice over LTE. When activated, voice calls use LTE signal (instead of GSM/WCDMA) which is clearer and has better quality.
Guys I have a EEA version rom, can I swap it to Global rom without unlocking the bootloader?

Voice over LTE, something like better, faster and clearer voice calls.
Do this have the long exposure modes?
I got the ota update and downloaded it. But for low charge i didn't go for reboot. The next morning i charged my phone & tried to flash it. But the updater says "its not allowed to upgrade to unofficial rom package". Also check for updates not showing it too. What can i do now?

Enable or disable volte, go to phone dialer and dial *#*#86583#*#*

VoLTE is working, you can see it in the settings and in call history BUT no icon in status bar, only VoWiFi icon shown.
I tapped that string on the dialer, for the first time, and VoLTE was disabled...
Re-tapped for re-enable...

Thanks . But I will stay with miui 11 for a time
i bought two poco f2 pros, mines blue my womans is white. mine is on 12.0.2 her is 12.0.3, i can turn ads off an stuff in hers but not mine...typing ads inside settings is where i can find it inside her phone. but nowhere to be found in mine...where can i turn off ads for system at???????
