Hello dear respected members , i am a noob to all this and s7 edge being my first android , before used nokia n8 and 808 , they were awesome , so a shift from symbian to android , and i am not regretting it
So i was using this smartphone (model G935FD dual sim, asian markets) for a week , it was best and no lag , no issues , battery life was amazing , i liked edge screen features , good camera but not exceptional , as i found it not par with 808 , maybe because these nokia phones were legacy , so that was a good experience
until recently i made the worst decision which i regret ever, is of upgrading to nougat , i dont know the phone said updates available and i selected download and install , and when i came back to check , it was a blue screen with android system updating ? i dont know where it came from , and then phone restarted and i got to know that it was updated to nougat
Since then, the phone has many issues , i just want to know that if its only me or others also effected after updating to nougat ? firstly, the edge screen lighting color change option is removed and we cannot assign colors to a contact , then the option to disable apps is not present in settings>applications , and more annoying is that the front camera quality became awful ! much worsened than what it was on marshmallow, also rear camera's quality decreased , and i forgot to say that the raw image capture option also disappeared after updating, no option after selecting pro mode, and then there is lagness in the ui and even the samsung keyboard hangs and words type much later , and the worst problem of all is the battery drain 2X faster than it was on stock marshmallow , so all these things ruined my experience , i contacted samsung live chat and they told i cannot downgrade back to marshmallow
i am sorry for such a long writing , but if anyone there experiencing the same problems after update like me ? or i have a defected unit?
Your not alone
I won't be much help but to make it short.. I have always had Samsung phones since 2012, but Christmas day 2015 I upgraded from galaxy s5 to the Galaxy s6 edge, (my boyfriend GOT S6 edge+.
Needless to say the S6 locked up in February. Then I had his S6 edge+, I lasted a few months and then locked me out to the point we went in and both of us traded in for Iphones.. Lol! I had the IPhone for eight hours in my home and it locked up like fort Knox! Took 2 weeks to get unlocked so TMobile let me return it, I was thrilled to go back to Samsung and got Galaxy S7 Edge. I was lost. Choice of browser? Choice of messaging applications??? I was clueless as to why or how all of this worked! Any I'm in my second S7 Edge Nougat 7.0 but with all that said between TMobile on phone lines, and Tmo Community, Samsung on phone in video chat and the tech inside my mobile, but to no avail, they recommended taking my device into a Best Buy so could evaluate the issues... Also my cable Internet provider (Xfi))=the devil themselves!! Would not really offer any help, ? considering the problems I was having mainly revoked around wifi and Bluetooth network issues I then bought my own wireless gateway and had Best Buy install it, almost $1,000 on that trip! But I still to this day do not have my Galaxy S7 Edge Nougat 7.0 working correctly. Deep in my settings something is still not correct! So sorry so long winded but just don't feel alone! I'm still trying to figure out how to join a help community that I can access from my mobile about my mobile without it screwing up my browser crap!
Raw capture is still there in
Camera settings>picture size
Edge screen colored contact...removed in nougat
Front and Rear camera quality is the same as MM for me. Not worse but also not better.
Lagginess UI - No lag for me. Actually smoother than MM.
Battery- A bit worse than MM but still holding strong for me, getting around 5-7 SOT depend on what I do.
My suggestion for you is to do a factory reset. If still not solved try flashing the whole stock rom by odin since OTA update might had some error.
If you want to downgrade. Just download and flash the older rom.

thanks @evamae3 and @NonXtreme , i actually had a fight with the retailer i purchased that this unit was defective he said he would talk with the warranty giver company and then update me , but its good to know that others are also facing these problems , so i am not going to replace it now , and for me there is no WiFi or bluetooth issues so far , but i am experiencing much battery drains , and lagness in ui , also front and rear camera quality is very bad for me , and then its sad that they removed color notifications for edge lighting, but @NonXtreme bro i cannot see where is that Raw image capture option ??? its no where in my camera settings , please can you give me screenshot , and the last option to revert back to previous firmware by odin , sorry but i cannot use this option as this will void the warranty , any other suggestions?

Also flashing firmware by odin shouldn't void your warranty as long as you flash stock unmodified rom.

First I’d like to thank my friend “Akram Khan” for giving me this opportunity then I’d like to thank “XDA” for accepting our Post by trusting us and also would like to Samsung for giving such an amazing device in last year.
I am one of the happiest user of Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9300), it is an International version which boast Quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 processor, with 1 GB of RAM in Exynos 4412 Quad Chipset having Mali-400MP GPU displaying the brighter Resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, 4.8 inches (306 ppi) in samsung’s innovative Super AMOLED display. The internal memory storage has 3 sizes 16,32 & 64 GB with additional MicroSD slot to extend the storage upto additional of 32 GB.
To say about me I’m an normal technology lover as usual as how most of the common Indian youngsters are. This is my 3rd android device prior to this I had LG Optimus Black and HTC sensation. Through the Service Center I got the Latest 4.2.2 update & in this Post I am willing to share few words about the latest update & also my experience with Samsung Galaxy S3.
Since I am one of the privileged customer for Samsung , I got a call from one of the Service Center nearby my place regarding the galaxy S3 update for 4.2.2.it took almost 10 to 15 min’s to complete the update through jig device. After the update my phone started to respond much faster. I felt as if I am having one of the new phone from the market. The response was seamless & tremendous fast didn’t even had a single lag in any part. They enriched the OS by adding few more additional Software chages.
Lock screen.
Let me start from the Lock Screen it has the same kind of light effect moving along with your finger motion in the screen, as how you have it in the latest Galaxy S4 & the lock screen customizable option has been Enabled now you can add upto 4 pages in the Lock screen allowing you to add multiple widgets avoiding to unlock the screen & you can also customize the message displaying in the lock screen.
Display
Display part there are couple of tweaks the adaptive Display & additional display modes available such has the option to enable the Adaptive display which adapts according to the light & also additional display mode which is the “Professional photo” mode for better display to help in photo shoot.

Notification panel
In the Notification area they have enhanced the option to delete any screenshot which you captured and also to delete any received pictures or songs & rest all remains the same.
New Additional Features
The settings menu has been provided with sub menu in the Tab wise as seen in Galaxy S4.
The 3D display in the Gallery has a white Background, prior to this which was in Black color.
In the Smart Switch Widget they have added 4 additional features which are for enableing & disabling the “Direct Call, Smart Stay,Voice Control & SBeam. The stock video player is also enhanced with the Scren capture option to snapup the currnetly played video & rest of the features remains the same & the phone has the buttery smooth response.
Overall Experience with this update is impressive, Samsung has tried much to provide few features from Galaxy S4 to its last year successor Galaxy S3 & the highlight of this update is it has not caused any performance issues in the device.
An Un-noticed Issue
Even though Samsung has enhanced the Galaxy S3 features, it has failed to imporve the Call Log issue, even after this latest update still the Call logs are taking few more seconds to get launched & even in toggeling between the Call logs & contacts has a huge lag. However this issue is being carried since the launch of this device this & not yet fixed. Even a normal phone would load the call logs much faster than this smart phone.

I know its been a month but don't underestimate this is just a review share .

My apologies .This was moved.
Moved as it was in question and answers .
Fact is you made out you are a privileged user who Samsung allowed a preview of 4.2.2 .
Fact is that the release you previewed is not a Samsung release at all but the old leak .
Any Samsung employee advising or giving out this leaked beta test firmware would be sacked .
That in a nutshell is why i thought your post was a fake .

Hello everyone,
i'd like to know, which Basebandversion Number is the newest for the Note 3 of Jelly Bean. Is it ...*MJ7? or something else?
And for the following devices, i'd like to know either the newest baseband version with JELLY BEAN either, NO KITKAT AT ALL.
DAMN, Google did exclude 4.2.1,4.2.0 and 4.4.1 from ALL LISTS! [https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=de#nakasi]
Well, if you don't know the answer of all those followwing Phones(+Tablets etc.), please Post, what you already do know.

REALLY EVERYBODY wants to have the newest Andriod-Version. But Vista HBasic Béta and KitKat shows (us), that the NEWEST is not actually always ACTUALLY THE BEST, THAT BEST (1) is J´LLY BEAN!!!!!
You do Probably know (that The Note 3 and the Oppo Find 7 are the Best Worldwide Phones with STILL ♥❤JELLLY BEAN❤♥❤ ❤ and THANK YOU FOREVER GOD, OPPO YOU DID NOT POST (Send out an) UPDATE FOR ANDROID KitKat!!!!!
What do YOU think about it, of Android KitKat?
That's the Question.
That's what I ACTUALLY THINK ABOUT IT:
[email protected] is that M'therf'ckng Pièce of s--- out ofit?
Is there a difference between that Ûgly chocholate Man and Killerjo's A$$?
I can't, i cant, i'm acctually not able to RecogniƵe any difference between those twos.
4.2.1 and 4.4.2 are known for Battery Prôblms and 4.0.4 on the S3 for security problems and mistakes and Secure Security issues (exAmple: there is a Horrible Website and if you tap on it with Android 4.0.4 IceCréamSandwich (ICS), then you're only able to just (2)c how the Phone erases itself. One Man did already that bitter bad exp(Î)erience.
4.4.1 is bàd, 4.4(.0) is even worse than 4.4.1 and then [0mes 4.4.4.
After tgat Android L with ugly ◄●□( that i don't like really much ) instead of the good old ﬤ⌂□╗. Even worse is 4.4.2 (Rank 1) but #0, the most horrible worst of all is 4.4.2!!!!!

AH!And before i forget to ask:
1.WHY THE F''' DID GOOGLE ACTUALLY REMOVE 4.1.0 and 4.1.1 and 4.2.0 and 4.2.1 and 4.4.1 from the https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images nexus image site???? WHY DA F'''?????
2.The Air-Command Search-Feature has (been) f'ckin' removeed in the both new Galaxy Note Phones (=Note 4 and Note Edge), why?????
+
3.The Note 4 (i don't mean the Note Edge right now!) has such a (Samsung Calls it „BEAUTYFULL" curve on the Screen like the Galaxy S3.
But this is only good, when you've got a Case that has edges that go further front than the Screen Surface itself because maybe thicker glass is more resistant but if the Phone's got to suffer a Face-Off drop then the S2 would beat all S3+S3 Mini Models!
ALL THE MISSING NOTE 4 +Edge FEATURES:
So that's what is missing on the best Smartphone in the entire World:
>FM/UKW/AM·MW/LW Radio
>Non-Kitkat Android (such as like 4.3.1.)
>forgot what
>4GB Ram|WHAT? ONLY THREE
>PHYSICAL Camera Btn.
>Sensors: RGB, Hudimity, Temperature
>64GB of PURE IntMem
>Cine4k (@2160p) (4096x2160 Pixles). But the maximum recording resulotion is just UHD (=only 3840 times 2160 Pixels!)
>Ok,good the 4xS3 QHDResolution display is no problem. On the Note 6 and the S7 (Not NO1.S7 Galaxy S5 Replica Fake but the GALAXY S7!) i do expect a 4xS4 (UHD) Resultion Display!
>Only 4 instead of 5 Air Gesture(Air Cmnd) Options
>Even in thhis case i forgot what! DAMN!
>Another missin' Sensor!
>I miss a 64 or 128 GB Version.
>Where is that Brightness Sensor?
Another thing: WHY DID SAMSUNG EXCLUDE THE FM RADIO SINCE THE S4?
the S4 Mini still has UKW!
And then there's something that i forgot to say about.
But two another questions:
1.Screen Recording with Unblocked bôôtloader on a Nexus (device) is only possible with the WugFresh Toolkit and only since the first REALLY Cr4ppý version of Android.
(4.2.* causes many performance and Battery problems and is only (r4ppý and not véry (really)[r4pp´ý!
Now the Question is: Is there Actually a way to Record a screen with Jelly Bean 4.3.1 or Lower?
2.Deleting even app data since Android 4.4 KitKat: I HATE THAT S***!!!!!
(Example: When you Record and take some photos with CameraMX and afterthat you do uninstalling CamMX, then the Recordings stay until 4.3(.1) but since [email protected] EVEN THE RECORDINGS AND THE PHOTOS OF THIS APP GET DAM'NIN DELETED!!!!! CRÀÀÀÀÀ·ÀÀÀP!)

UPDATE: WITH A POST ON http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2866382 ON PAGE 25 I LINKED TO THIS THREAD.
(Not to advertise but i need it!)
I wish that the ScrVideoRecording feature and the Camera Button on the lock screen were there in Jelly Bean.
They attract anybody with „new features" to trap in this horrbile update!
Three very big disadvantages:
1.-The Stock File Explorer (not ES.File·Exp) WIPES (=safe-deletes) the Files instead of deleting!
·Ressource+Battery Waste
·File is not recoverable anymore
2.·Uninstalling User Applications will even delete it's user storage data! Not only root data.·.
·Uninstalling App on lower than KitKat= Deleting App+Root Data
·On KitKat Deleting App+Root Data+even User Data on Non-Root-Storage! (like Phoro+Video Recordings of external camera apps like CameraZoomFX or CameraMX.)
3.External file explorers canonly

If everybody would know, how horrible Android KitKat actually is.....
They want to force you to Upgrade by offering attractive features like the TouchWiz-UI Camera Launcher on the Lock Screen but...

And the Stock (not ES) file Manager WIPES the file since 4.4.+ [email protected], if you choose „delete", even the camera does.
That causes: ressource waste, battery waste and file inrecoveribility.

I have had my Galaxy Note 4 for maybe four months now. I consider myself more knowledgeable with android devices, and just phones in general, than the average consumer.
My device is, and has always been.. laggy! It' hiccups when changing apps, when in some apps, and with other random toggles and processes. I don't think my problem is specifically with my Note 4, but just.. Android in general. It seems that every Android device I've owned (4 or 5 total) are all laggy, but when I get a new device, the lag is just slightly improved. The lag is certainly noticeable, and at times frustrating., especially when compared to my iPhone 6 plus (I switch between the two).
I love Android, more than I think I'll ever love iOS, but the buttery smooth transitions and animations on the iPhone make my Note 4 look like it's 5 years old! Even if you're extremely against Apple, you can't disagree with me.. am I wrong?!
I'm posting this thread here because I do have some questions to go along with my rambling d:
1. Would you consider your Note 4 somewhat laggy? Does it ever.. frustrate you?
2. Have you found a fix? Is the fix.. installing a custom ROM? Is there a tweak I haven't found? Installing a stock Lollipop ROM?
3. Anything else!?

Is you device rooted, custom ROM, any tweaks?
What should I do about this? I've factory reset it several times, rooted, installed custom ROMs, etc, just about everything I can think of.
Scrolling through certain apps like the Gallery app and even Kik messenger, it's slow and laggy as I scroll up and down through pictures or messages.
Could my device be defective? I've never dropped it, it's in Pristine condition, not a scratch or imperfection! Would Samsung do anything about this if I contacted them? Would Sprint?

I am running N910C with Android L 5.0.1 BOC3 TTT (Trinidad and Tobago) NOT rooted.
I don't buy Carrier branded phones because they install lots of bloatware which I think contributes to the lagginess you are complaining about.
The first thing I do after setting up the phone, is to disable apps and crap I don't use. Google+, Facebook, Whatsup, etc. I also disable services

I mean.. say this does help.. I didn't pay $800 for a device where it only works how it should with everything disabled!
I'm planning on taking it in to Sprint to see what they say since I pay for some type of device protection every month, is there any way they can tell my device has been previously rooted, when it currently is not rooted?

3. Anything else!?

hi ,
Firstly....i agree overall ,with Salim.Keady post # 2 above .
i have been using Android since the days of windows phones ,we ( forum members ) use to " boot " Android up onto our sd cards........... !!I
I have come a long way with Android ..and so have others .
That said, at present i have Note4 ( N910F ) stock , rooted on Lollipop...... BOC3
(i used to have a branded Vodafone, but flashed over it to unbranded .)
I also have Note 2 ,Note 3 ,Note 8.0 Tab
All my devices is running " very" smoothly ,batteries usage on all of them is, very very good.etc no lag on any of them .Lucky ..no i don't think so ! (Even when they were all on branded ROMs ,they were smooth etc )
On my Note 4 the only hiccup i got with "lag " is the recent button and so have many others ...(that is all )
I have to say , i have also had the odd " hiccup (eg .battery drain or lag " ) when i was on Android v4.4.4 ,and then had Xposed module installed ,i had terrible lag ,but i "fixed/patched " it and had afterwards ,no problems at all .
Also ,when i uninstalled Xposed, it also broke a few apps ..afterwards ,(eg apps crashing /freezing etc )
But this i fixed with factory rest etc .
When i flashed lollipop... BOB4 ( no problems )
I then flashed... BOC3, no problems at first and after a few days picked up a terrible "wakelock "
I managed to id the correct "wakelock " and disable it ..
Ever scince, device is now better on Lollipop ,than Android v4.4.4 !
My experience is ,that to me, it is not necessary ,to flash custom Rom out of desperation/fustration ? ....unless you want to of course !
So my answer to your questions is
1 No , not at all !!!
It can be smooth and overall lag free (if you "tweak "it right using correct "tools " and searching for fixes( if you do have an issue )
2 I have noticed that a lot of custom Roms have their own problems/issues !!
So possibility is that you could start another "chapter" of issues with your device ?
3 One "tip " is ( maybe you know it ..?) but go to settings /developers options / and change Windows animation scale ,Transion animation scale and Animator duration scale .......(.mine is eg set on 0.5 x but you can turn it off also )
You will noticed your device is much "snappier " ...ok it won't help much with lag, but it will be more " snappier /faster .
If you don't believe that, then turn all 3 ( as listed above )up to say .....1x or 1.5x.and see it does make a difference !!
you will see your device is slower but smoother ??? but as said, your lag won't go away !
Above all said , possibility is that your phone could be defective ? but this you should "pick " up, if so (with your experience .)
Good luck
i think its just android in General.
i have a Ipad Air and no android phone can come close to how smooth everything is on the ipad.
i seriously doubted when i got my note 4, if i shouldnt have got a iphone 6...
but overall i like it and im used to android so i choosed the note 4.
if you really want a fast device you should try cyanogenmod 12, but you will lose cool features and the camera quality.
i know exactly what you mean with your story, but i think its a waste of time when you go back to the shop were you bought the phone.
i really dont think they can do something about it.
but for all that it matters, this note 4 is the best phone i ever had ! and from what i heard the battery lasts so much longer then the iphone 6's
i don't know what you do with your phone, but i never had any lag, besides the recents menu of course but that's "normal",
but then again i'm not using a stock rom obviously

2. This is true, and some will aslo install their preferred apps, that I (I speak for myself only) consider bloatware because I don't use them.
3. I forgot to mention that, but I also put mine on .5x since I had my S3. I have not done it yet on my Note 4 because I am still on the tesing phase, and I don't see or feel any lag atm.
It seems that my LG G4 has finally died.
It all began a couple of weeks ago when my G4 suddenly crashed while I was using it. The screen turned black and it didn't restart itself. So I turned it back on and there it was, a nice endless bootanimation. The phone did nothing else than bootlooping.
But I am not someone who gives up easily so I tried to boot into TWRP, which booted up successfully and I formatted the whole phone. I started up LG UP to restore my phone with a clean KDZ to see if it would boot up. And yes it did and seemed to work properly so I thought maybe I had some bad luck. But unfortunately after a couple of days the same thing happend again. I booted up TWRP again and tried an AOSP based ROM instead of a LG Stock ROM to see if the same thing would happen again. And yes eventually the same thing happend again.
It seems that my G4 finally turned into a bootlooping brick. I give up. I've had a really nice 3 years with this device even with all the problems it had. I absolutely loved it's camera, that's what mostly kept me to use this device. But I am not planning to buy an other LG device anytime soon, beside all the nice features this device has, like a SD-Card slot, removable battery and the awesome camera, they simply do not make up for all the problems this device has. It's an absolute shame because it could have been the perfect phone for many years. But LG's bad update policy, quality control and support made me to decide to step away from LG. For now I'll be using my old Nexus 5 for a while as a daily driver till I can afford a new device. I want to thank all the dev's for their efforts and time they spend in their awesome work, you've have made and gave us many awesome Mods, Kernels and ROMs to try and enjoy.
Good bye.

Nahh thanks for the suggestion but beside that it will make the phone pretty slow it still has it's problems. So in my eyes it's not worth it.

I would recommend to do it just to have a backup phone if anything goes wrong with the new one or you can repurpose it as a camera or media player.

Well now you brought me on some idea's :good:, might just use that method to still be able to use my device as a camera. That's what I love the most of the LG G4.
Its not that bad on disabled cores. My first G4 was a faulty one I got very cheap and just disabled the cores to get it working. It did die eventually though. I loved the phone so much that I got a new one with 701 s/n. Wasn't so much faster as I was expecting.. Going strong since !

If you don't mind .. I would love to use your device as a testing device. If you have some free time and wanting to help me with my unofficial unlock.. I need to test a thing which may convert the device or makes it completely bricked. But as you said it's dead for you anyways.. So.. Let me know

I did notice a pretty big difference, especially when I'm multitasking/switching apps. Tried the big cores disable method a while ago just to see how big the difference would be. It doesn't make the device unusable slow but I do need more speed to use it as a daily driver. And I don't really trust my G4 since it became more unstable while time passed. So that's why I'm back to my Nexus 5 for now. And I'm not planning to send back my device to repair it again or for an replacement because I'm pretty much done with LG for now.

I would love to help, really appreciate all the work you have done. Tomorrow I will have free time to help and test. And I'm not afraid to brick my device. If I brick it I can still use it for spare parts because my sister has a G4 to and she cracked it's screen. So it won't be wasted if things go wrong. :good:
Why you just dont send it to LG service so it get fixed? It is still really good phone, so dont give up yet.

Well because my device has been fixed once already and LG failed to fix all the issues it had. About 2 years ago I sent my G4 back because it had a really bad image retention problem (not to confuse with burn ins, that are 2 different things), the battery life was absolutely garbage and it heated up way to quick. The overheating problem bothered me the most and it worried me because it might been a sign that it would bootloop eventually. Luckily LG approved to repair my device but after a year or so all the problems it had came back and now it seems that it finally started to bootloop. I'm done, even when I send back my device it would probably show the same problems after a while. I don't trust this device anymore, it's in my opinion unreliable.

They cant fix the bootloop. They can fix the issue, but bootloop is a design problem.
I have 505 not yet bootlooped. Battery life is bad and it does heat alot. Still, the phone is really good to use.
Yep, with this phone, you need to have a backup phone... Im not sure what phone i would like to get. Smaller display would be nice, this is hard to use only with one hand.

plus changing the copper tape insulation on top of the processor.
I have root and have disabled the two big cores and set the small core to 1440mhz and big core to powersave 384mhz because with kernel auditor it does not allow you to disable both cores at once. Been using the device for about a month or so. Will upload pictures this weekend if anyone wants to do this "mod".

Sure thing!
I hope to have some time this weekend to take some pictures and document all the process. As I used a "rework" station to recover my G4 from the ILAPO at first.
I am, by no means, a developer nor programmer but I understand the concept. I have a theoretical question just based on looking at the specs of these phones.
The ZE552KL (ZenFone 3) and ZE553KL (ZenFone 3 Zoom) are both nearly twins. There's a few things that differ, but they're running the same chipset (thus same CPU, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 MSM8953), same graphics (Adreno 506).
The differences are the screen resolutions, camera resolutions, WiFi chip (Zoom has no 5GHz support?), SIM 2 supports more bands on the Zoom.
I own the Zoom and I'm shocked that there's no Lineage OS for it, but I was scratching my head on a couple of theories.
The question I have is ... would the Lineage OS 14.1 ROM for the ZE552KL work on the ZE553KL? Has anybody tried this?
Thanks, in advance, to anybody who responds.
I own a zoom as well and I'd really appreciate a Lineage rom for this.
I would like to know as well!

My guess would be that those differences are just enough to preclude the ZE552KL Lineage ROM from working with our devices.
On the plus side (I hope) maybe those differences are easy to overcome and some willing dev will attempt to do so.
Please..!
Would very much appreciate this as well!!!
We could always do a little fundraiser to pay a developper to do the work for us?
Hardware wise the phones are damn near identical, so there shouldn't be much of an issue porting over Lineage. The only hiccup would be getting the secondary camera to work I'd imagine, but that's not a big deal.
The real issue isn't technical, it's just that the phone doesn't seem popular enough for any developer interest sadly.

Sadly I can't
I haven't got the ZE553KL and the time to support another phone...
ZE553KL is (was) by far the best Phone/Camera in mid-range budget.
As anything Asus, it suck because of software.
Its like dev never actually read reviews. 2000 ROM for a self-burning 900USD Samsung and none for this fine device.
Its just unfair.
Well, I've bought the Zoom phone recently and I can agree with what was said:
- Great hardware
- Crappy software
Seeing there are no usable custom ROMs mean I'll most likely return the phone :-/

Oh that's too bad. There's a similar thread regarding the lack of custom ROMs too so I'll ask you the same question: What is it that you're finding with the software that you feel would be solved with a custom ROM? Not trying to be argumentative, just genuinely curious.

Hi koimr!
Strange, I was sure I already replied your question, but it seems the reply was not saved... Anyway I miss the possibility to display the soft buttons and customise the LED notifications and generally I feel like there are not many things to customise.
But I wonder if anybody actually tried to install a Zenfone 3 custom ROM on Zenfone 3 zoom...
(Hope I'll visit Canada some day )

Hi there Biges,
To give an answer to your question, someone already tried flashing lineage os from the zenfone 3 to their zenfone 3 zoom in the past (that thread is gone now) and it hard bricked their device. Wasn't able to recover from it sadly.
Other than that, you may look forward for it to arrive sometime in the future

You're only getting a 4-6h SOT? I don't own the phone anymore but with my extensive use, I would only charge the phone once by 2 days. My phone was root, I was using magisk and greenify, nothing too fancy. Listening to music all day, always browsing the web or facebook, instagram, messenger, webtoons, etc and I was getting a good 2 days use.
I simply wanted more customization and an os closer to the stock android which is why CM / Lineage OS was a good pick for me.
Although I now own a Huawei P20 due to my AZ3Z screen broke because of a 2 feets fall... (approximately 60cm fall) so that demand doesn't apply to me anymore. I still sometimes miss my az3z, good phone!

Well that is the case after OREO 8.0.0 update, i didn't begin modifying the phone myself because i'm on hold for the upcoming Lineage 15.1 ROM that a developer (KEVEN) is working on so i'm still in hope mode, i knew that 2.5D glass is a weak engineering so screen protector and armored metal case was crucial since day 1.
