Hi guys, I already tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025486 [MOD] [N4] BEATS+XLOUDER! 4.2.1 [07/12/12] JB Louder Audio Improvement Patch but there's almost no difference with stock rom ringtone sound volume
My girlfriend Xperia Arc S with xLOUD™ completely kick my Nexus 4 (and Galaxy s2) speakers ass even with the X"LOUDER" MOD
There is a way to have a real Xperia xLOUD (only) mod with the Nexus 4?
How do the speakers compare to those of the Note 2? I'm discussing in terms of both loudness and audio quality. Are there distortions at maximum volume? Is the quality comparable to the top HTC phones?
The Note 3 had some pretty lackluster speakers, and they were a downgrade compared to those of the Note 2.
On that note, will the DAC for the Qualcomm version be their integrated sound solution and the Wolfson DAC again for the Exynos versions?
Of course you know not a single one of these has been sold yet, so how can you ask a question like this?
If it's like S5 it will be louder than my z2. Let's wait and see.
I hope it's at least as good as the Note 2. I felt like the Note 3 speaker was a downgrade in the loudness department.
In that Russian review they stated the Note 4 speaker was louder then the Note 3 one.

I just checked out the Note 4 at a local Best Buy and I'm happy with everything, but the speaker.
It is indeed louder than the Note 3's, but not by much. It has great highs, but the midrange is tinny sounding and nowhere as full or as loud as my LG G3's speaker. I rely heavily on the speakerphone so this was a disappointment, but I'll buy the phone anyways.
So my S3 is using Googy Max kernel and that has some custom sound engines of which I am using Wolfson.
On my S5 using speakerphone during call with it on max is equal to the volume on the S3 of about 2-3 notches from bottom. In addition the S5 has distortion when max. So the sound isnt as clear.
Is the tech spec of the S5 speaker inferior or is this down to software aka kernel?
If kernel is there any kernels like googymax for the S5+ 901F or are we stuck with stock?
Sorry, but Support is sadly bad. Only AndroiGX support the awesome device with his Rom. No custom Kernel arround. Cheers
Ok I will put up £50 for custom kernel, that has better sound engine as well as governor tweaks etc? will that motivate anyone?
According to ifixit, I realize Galaxy S5 mini has a Wolfson WM1811AE hifi DAC in it. https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+S5+Mini+Teardown/27579
S5 mini is running on Exynos 3470 processor which is the same as Tab 4 7.0 LTE (SM-T235) so I was wondering if T235 has a wolfson DAC as well? I wish i will be able to find out the audio DAC using the software method. Hopefully someone will develop a kernel with engine like voodoo sound/ boeffla sound for T235 if it is really running on wolfson WM1811AE.
Same question here.
I'm just about to replace my T230 with T235 and I'm really hoping for that Wolfson DAC. I love the deep super detailed sound it produces .
I think I've found somewhere on Wolfson web that all Exynos driven boards have Wolfson DAC, but I'm not sure now.
Anyway, T235 according to official manual has 2 mics instead of 1mic as T230, maybe this is a hint for someone with better knowledge to answer that question?
T235 sounds amazing! (like Wolfson)
OK so I've just replaced T230 with T235 (lte version).
Sound quality in T235 is amazing compared to T230, the high frequencies are most noticeable difference between these models, in T235 sound is much more deep, overall ambiance of sound is far more detailed, bass is deep and smooth.
I mean its like orgasm to my ears so it is very likely that this actually is Wolfson DAC.
With T230 I felt like there's something missing in sound.
The Exynos processor is much more powerful, UI works far more fluid - I've tested with animated wallpaper (Lattern Festival) - T230 was laggy, UI was chopping when swiping through the screens, this does not happen with T235 it is butter smooth.
T235 also has 2 mics, and vibration.
There's no problem with microphone like the one I've faced using T230 - people were not able to hear me on hangouts when I've used headphones without mic included....
There was also bugs with sound on T230 related to audio output. The problem was that when notification arrived it triggered tablet speaker, so currently applied sound effects are not supported by speaker and were turned off. This does not happen with T235, seems like there's more audio channels or something like that.
Yes, The audio sounds fantastic, but I wish we could get root on this device.
Need to enable LTE bands 4 and 17 for us stateside users.
Understand you have the 235 but wondering if anyone can comment on the SM-T235 versis the T235Y (has the Snapdragon 600)? Wondering which is faster/snappier? Any display differences? (color etc) Thanks
So obviously the S8 3.5mm jack is not as loud as the HTC 10 but given the fact that V4A can boost up +6db in volume, how the S8 sounds with V4A? Specially the Exynos model
