I read somewhere that you have to long keep pressed both buttons.
Also, on Marshmallow there was a gesture you could enable that was three-finger pinch in to take a screenshot. Is that still available?
The 3 finger gesture is still available in 7.1.1

What is your phone language set to? Searching for gesture finds 'Gestures & motions' perfectly fine.
...otherwise just go to Settings > Features ?

Oh, it's hidden behind a slider ?.
One would have thought, that a setting with a slider only allows you to change the slider position on/off and doesn't contain another list of settings.
// I see now, there is a small bar to the left of the slider...
Thank you
Sure.

We hope the issues will be fixed soon
Mine stopped working and I got it working again by turning the onscreen buttons on and off, as well as the double tap to wake, both in settings....then restarted.
A bit unscientific but did the job.
Have a look at the other post, there is a good alternative camera app to download from xda.

Double tap to wake is a great battery drain. It keeps the screen powered up all the time. Is it that hard to stick a finger on a sensor. If you can't make it work and want it there are tap to wake apps

Open Camera is far better than the stock one. The first thing I did was swap.

Dttw does keep the screen on! Do you see the back light? It is just a part of the touch layer managed by the kernel. It should have a minimal impact on battery life and does not prevent deep sleep.

Not required double tap on MM ZUI
Double tap features is not required anymore for me, because the newer ZUI marshmallow version they have fixed the problem with direct unlock from the home key without pressing.
I mean same like Nexus devices.

Nope, as far as I know, zuk use the same layout that opo uses, one cable for screen and another for touch. After that it's handled by kernel and don't have almost any impact in battery life

Why double tap or any number of taps??
If you tap on your screens, you may have a chance of mistakenly opening an app!
This following solution is more practical:
"Swipe home button" in Play store. An easy and practical way to get to home screen, works well.

How's battery usage? Is it significant?
Also, I'm using the version you posted but it's not working when the screen is off. I'm sure I deactivated all app-killing process. I don't think it's this.

I'm using WInamp as my music player, the app is built for older Android versions, so the menu is only accessible throught the menu button. But since the Axon 7 doesn't have a menu button, I can't access it. I tried long press the recent apps button, but that only brings up voice command. I also tried to look into the Accessibility menu like in this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/help/galaxy-s6-s6-edge-missing-menu-button-t3220289) but our phones don't have that option. Has anyone been able to get the menu button back? Thanks.

If you have gravity box, you can bind the menu action to a double press of the recents key or whatever you choose. It might also show up if you enable the on screen nav bar.

I can't get Gravity Box because it requires Xpose, which requires you to flash some stuff in TWRP. My storage is encrypted and if I flash anything in TWRP it'll softbrick my phone. I need a non-flash solution to this.

Sorry to bump an old thread...but there isnt an Android music player I have found that I like more than Winamp and I am running into the same menu button issue. Any way to restore the menu button on a phone running Android 11 GrapheneOS?
After the nougat update, taking a screenshot is no longer instant like it was on 6.0.1 You need to press and hold power down for a second before the action is triggered. I happen to take a lot of screenshots, and find it annoying/inconvenient. Does anyone else share the same?
Is any dev here able to port the screenshot utility from 6.0 to 7.1.1?
@DrakenFX @Unjustified Dev any inputs? If any files are needed, I'm still on 6.0.1 and can help you with those.
Others feel free to chime in as well!
Thanks.
It's not lag. Now it required to press and hold both buttons.
I have no idea why they changed this but on LineageOS it's the same.
I know that it's not lag. On 6.0.1, it was modified by ZTE to not require to press and hold. Just a short press of both the buttons would trigger a screenshot, which made it extremely convenient. I want to have the same functionality on 7.1.1. I don't think it'll be a big task to change that, but I don't really know how to

I've still got it on 7.1.1(MiFavor4.2) A2017.
Also I just need to press both buttons to take a screenshot not holding them.
I'm also running 7.1.1, MiFavor 4.2.15. But 3 finger pinch doesn't do anything.
In Marshmallow they used to have a Settings menu for the pinch to screenshot feature. That has been removed entirely. Searching for screenshot has no results in the settings search.

I found a pretty easy way to use old OnePlus Gestures on OnePlus 5T running OxygenOS 10
No root required
1. Download this Settings Editor app
2. Open it
3. Choose "System Table"
4. Search for "op_gesture_button_side_enabled"
5. Set its value to "0"
Done! I tested it on a OnePlus 5 and it worked fine. To revert you'll have to set "1" to that property

Funziona perfettamente. Mille grazie
The fact that this can be changed so easily makes me wonder why OnePlus just didn't add a switch to make this an option.
Anyway, thank you very much for saving my Android experience. I loved the classic op gesture because it works perfect even with a bulky protective case while on the other hand the new Google gesture is impossible because I can't touch the screen at the required position with my thumb.
Glad to see that you appreciate my discover

Makes me stay on the new gestures. This was one of the things that really made me want oos 10. They could have added that icon in android pie, but they were lazy, samsung had their own gestures in android 9 and they added the rotation button to theirs.
