I found a pretty easy way to use old OnePlus Gestures on OnePlus 5T running OxygenOS 10
No root required
1. Download this Settings Editor app
2. Open it
3. Choose "System Table"
4. Search for "op_gesture_button_side_enabled"
5. Set its value to "0"
Done! I tested it on a OnePlus 5 and it worked fine. To revert you'll have to set "1" to that property
where download?
Does this app need to be edited? Can you be clearer?
The apk is SETEDIT. and works! Thanks!!!

Yeap. It works flawlesly on 5T

This should be enabled by default instead of Android's weird gestures .
Funziona perfettamente. Mille grazie
The fact that this can be changed so easily makes me wonder why OnePlus just didn't add a switch to make this an option.
Anyway, thank you very much for saving my Android experience. I loved the classic op gesture because it works perfect even with a bulky protective case while on the other hand the new Google gesture is impossible because I can't touch the screen at the required position with my thumb.
Glad to see that you appreciate my discover
Did anyone realised that this setting is disabling rotation lock feature, too? The small rotation symbol appearing at the corner when you turn your phone is now gone. Hope someone find another hidden setting for this, too

Wow, this is such bs.
Makes me stay on the new gestures. This was one of the things that really made me want oos 10. They could have added that icon in android pie, but they were lazy, samsung had their own gestures in android 9 and they added the rotation button to theirs.
Working. THX.
Anyone else got problems with the activation of goggle assistant while swiping from bottom left or right?

You don't need to use this app if you use the stock gestures? I mean, with stock gestures and no additional tweaking the rotate icon shows up while using the regular gesture navigation right?

Sure, the problem begins when you try to hide navbar and pill. Otherwise it works.

This happen on AOSP rom too, when you try to hide the navigation bar indicator. Tested on crDroid latest version.
I guess this is an Android thing.

Hey, i just saw that the Huawei Ascend D2 has on-screen buttons that you can hide easy and pop it up again http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UH4Zt9lP23c(it's from 0:55) and just wondering if anybody could make something like that for the nexus 4?
There are a few ways to do it i believe. If you have a root a few apps will let you do it. Also AOKP has options to change it, as far as without root I'm not sure as I didn't try before i rooted my device. One of the things I have set is using Gesture Control I made swiping gestures from the area where the buttons would have been instead of having the buttons. I think it looks a lot better and for me works just as well.
download a custom rom such as cm10.1 to get this feature.
AOKP CM10.1 and PA all support this in the power menu.
Yes i know about the extended desktop, and i use it all the time. But i were thinking about a button on the soft-keys and a gesture to enable and disable it.

pa has per app expand. meaning you define app you like to jump into this and that mode and they will. if they have a quit button your bars will come back automatically.
there are apps out there can can do that with gestures. three finger gesture or whatever - not sure if they can hide the navigationbar because that would need framework changes afaik. we're working on something like that actually, its not yet 100% ready though.

Does anyone know how could I use a build prop edit to safely hide the bottom navigation bar without using unnecessary RAM? I use LMT so it isn't necessary.
I believe its in the build . prop file because when I replaced it to do a status bar mod, the bar disappeared momentarily when the file was missing.
However, I'm new to Android and I don't want to put myself into a boot loop or worse by blindly deleting things. I don't even know how to use a recovery yet. So does anyone know where this is? Thanks
LG G2
I just use an app. Auto hide soft keys. It's in the play store. Also use LMT myself. Let me ask you something, what setting do you set gesture input to?

Softbricked my phone and had to restore to stock then re-root etc :crying:
what is LMT?
This is LMT, or one of its functions. Its a really customizable navigation bar that replaces the stock one, along with any of other gesture control you could think of. Its great, you should try it out
LG G2
It swipes in from the bottom, top or sides. You can hold the gesture and lift your finger on the button or just swipe through in the direction you want and the function will activate. It gets much more complex than my setup but I'm just keeping it simple for now

The best app to hide soft keys is UDN (ultimate dynamic navbar),it can hide your keys without the need to modify them in build prop....And replace them with its soft keys that are not only customisable but you can also make them as tiny as you want in order not ot occupy as much space...

woof i tried UDN, to hide nav bar it requires xposed with it's module..i'm not too much interested to install other sw indeed, and IMHO it's the same of autohide
Then the build.prop string qemu.hw..... works??

Never liked the idea of pie it seemed cumbersome. And half the time i accidentally hit the area to launch the pie..

I used to be indifferent about Pie, until I actually tried it. Now I can't live without it. It's so much easier to just place your finger along either side of the screen, or the top and bottom, and have your nav buttons come up. Especially on larger screens. I also like having a "clean" screen, so the more UI items I can hide, the better.

Gravity box has it, or you can grab the standalone app in Play Store.
I use an app from play store called "back button" and have a semi transparent back and notification drop button on the right side. I can't quite hit the back button comfortably. (see pic)

Some parts are, I am unable to do things like remap buttons etc and it crashes if you try to do any quick management editing (which is to be expected). On the plus side, the developer has just ordered the 3t and is planning on making a full;y comparable version for us

That's right. But I still have to wait to have device in my hands as it's currently hard for me to assess what it will take and whether it is worth to work on Marshmallow version considering 3T is receiving Nougat in couple of weeks, which seems to be quite different (hopefully more AOSPish) compared to OOS 3.5.
The only one I seem to find a use for is "Ringer and notification unlink" so that I can separately set notification levels. It adds the slider with the others in settings/sound.
Is there any module to auto hide the navbar after a certain time to prevent burn-in?
/e: so trying to manipulate softkeys with GB results in some weird outcomes (e.g. backbutton not working)

a must have is "app settings 1.13" for the simple reason you can change orientation, dpi, keep on, and much more on any app

I am using the app "Fluid Navigation Gestures" and it works great for me. I typically have problems swiping from the left. Increasing the "sensitivity" allows you to widen the active area. very cool app.
Do you have to disable stock gestures or anything with FNG?

it will replace them when it's running. However, you can make it do exactly what the default is doing with improved sensitivity. I keep forgetting that I have this installed.
