Startup sound and shutdown sound/video

I posted this all int eh captive section >.< but thought I would put it here in case the other vibrant users would like to know this...
I found the hard way of change the startup sound and shutdown sound, which can be confusing, but i'll try to explain (this is after you have root)
1) went into Astro and copied the file from etc called PowerOn.wav to my SDcard as backup
2) found a wav file I wanted to change for power on and named it PowerOn.wav and stored it on the root of my SDcard
3) downloaded terminal emulator from market
4) when I launched, superuser permissions granted it SU access
5) type the command 'su root' (without the ' of course)
6) then type the command 'cp /sdcard/PowerOn.wav /etc/PowerOn.wav' and hit the enter key
This changed mine to a cooler "system activating" wav file I found...this was my way and it worked, but would much rather know the simpler version of How to grant Astro superuser permissions.
PS I used Audacity to convert my mp3 to wav and ogg files...in case anyone wants to know a free software
Shutdown Video:
I think you can change the shutdown video by adding custom PNG files in the /system/media/video/shutdown folder, but I haven't tested yet...i'm trying to figure out what I was going to do for the video (has to be 14 PNG files...or 14 of them all named the same thing).
I'll be testing soon and letting you know if this works.
EDIT: SUCCESS!!!
I was able to create 14 PNG images and copy them from my SDcard to the /system/media/video/shutdown folder and now I have a new shutdown video...anyone have a sight I could upload the new shutdown PNG files too? I have a couple different ones I created...really basic, but a little nicer than the T-mobile default one.

couldn't you just use root explorer and put the new wav file in the place of the old one with the same name? This is how I changed my boot animation. I'll try your way if mine doesn't work.

hey can you zip your shutdown file and give it to me without the sound? it looks badass, and the axura is pretty homo right now.

Im tryn to add a boot sound an cant figure it out please help there was no boot sound to begin with.. i made PowerOn.wav an tryed in system/etc and then tried media then ui nothings working am i naming this wrong or what Please help me out some on! pm me

[Q] How to get app sound?

Hi. I'm new here and i don't know if i'm posting this in the right place. I got the motorola milestone and got this app called scruff, when someone message you on there it plays a beautiful notification sound and i really want that sound as my main notification sound. i tried root explorer but i couldn't find the sound as a file.
Can you point me to the right direction? i'm sure theres has to be in somewhere but i don't know where exactly. If someone coulp help me i'd really aprecciate it!

The required files are attached. You will have to convert them to ogg format and push it into /system/media/audio/notifications or create the same file structure ( media/audio/notifications ) on the sdcard and copy them there.

how i can to put two versions of hd mini android on one sd card
i mean : i want put froyo + cm7 poth in my phone how i can do that
because you cant put the files in folder you must put it in root and no way to put files two versions on the root
please help me

Don't know much of the mini but maybe flash cm then create a back up then flash your other one
Or idk if boot manager works on the mini ever heard of it?

create 2 dir or 1 dir
put cm7 to 1 dir
2.2 to root dir
change initrd or startup for cm7 - set need dir

Could not load library "lib: surfaceflinger_client.so"

Trying to run "copy paste it " that i used to love on my note 2 on my current note 3.
It doesnt work , the screen didnt open . So i did some digging and the library needed "surfaceflinger_client.so" is no longer included in the current android version ?!
Does anyone have a copy of surfaceflinger_client.so file i can copy into /system/lib to make this app work ?
Is there any app besides copy paste it that allows you to draw a rectangle anywhere on the screen on your phone and ocr the text in that rectangle ?

I need some stock files guys

I know this is a Samsung S7 forum. But I think the files will be very fimilar and thus the reason I am asking here as well.
I need your guys help. I am trying to create a data fix file for Note 4 for a note 7 rom. I need some files off of a note7. I need all of the following:
all files, folders and sub files under System/CSC. all files, folders and sub files under System/Etc, all just files under System. lastly I need the file under Data/data/com.android.settings/shared_prefs/com.android.settings_preferences.xml this file
you most likely don't even need root to get these as you won't be modifying anything just copying them.
the size of the combined files should be under 10 megs zipped.
Or if anyone knows of a way I can use a stock firmware to extract files from it that would be awesome. However I have yet to find a way.
In the note 4 sprint forums we are having a hell of a time trying to get the note 7 roms to work on the note 4 for SMS, MMS, DATA, Phone calls. this would help out a ton if someone can do this for me.
