Read more, fixing your phone is pretty basic stuff. But anyway this isn't "stock" way to fix things(cause i'm too lazy to write all steps and I prefer to use this when i want to get clean install), but easy and fast if you follow instructions.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-4x/how-to/install-emui-4-1-4x-4c-g-play-g-play-t3515702
Also check root tutorial from "MEGA-THREAD ALE-L21, ALE-L23, ALE-L02, Converting, Root, Unbrick, Updating, Xposed". There is 1.zip file which makes you able to install SuperSu in system-less mode which doesn't cause bootloop.

Seems you haven't installed a custom recovery yet buddy, if you tried, you've failed.
First root your phone, then install a custom recovery, then try again booting into your recovery.

Well there only 2 options really, I'd say TWRP is more user friendly, so i would recommend that to you, before installing a rom first read the instructions and make sure they haven't first recommend a recovery for that specific rom installation.
Once you have a custom recovery its very simple to switch between them.
Follow the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469995
It's an old method but is very easy. This will install twrp but an old version.
So before using the method above first download the latest twrp onto your phone, i don't know what version of the g2 you have so if you reply i can try point you to the latest, but if you search for twrp 2.7 for your phone you should find it. You want it in .zip format.
So after saving the file to your phone, go ahead and follow the instructions above, if it says it successful, try booting into recovery again, the same way you managed to format your phone but this time it should boot your recovery, then press install .zip and flash the latest twrp.
Then your ready to go! just follow the instructions for the roms you'd like and flash them.
Best of Luck!

Lost Custom recovery a while after i installed 4.4.4

Hi
I have a major problem!
I was following a guide and downgreaded to 4.4.2 . Installed Root and Custom recovery.
Installed 4.4.4 according to the guide i cant find right now and everything was working as it should! I then installed all apps i need and also Xposed framework,Busybox and another all in one tool.
Now when i try to boot into recovery mode its gone!
How do i get recovery back in a easy way or do i need to redo the process again by downgrading ? How did i loose recovery so i can avoid it again?

you lost recovery by installing and updating busybox...as stated on this forum dozens of times you CAN'T UPDATE busybox if you're on NUT dual recovery... The fix is easy, just run the dual recovery installer in your pc and the recovery will be back. Busybox is included with the recovery, no need to install it. if you read the dual recovery known issues you would know this, just search next time... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43698321&postcount=2

Enable USB Debugging on your phone, make sure correct drivers are installed on pc, run the installer for the recovery and choose option 1. Installation on ROM rooted with SuperSU.
Make sure you autorize your pc on your phone screen if asked. I've reinstalled / updated recovery lots of times on several z2's and it never failed, as long as root is working the install should succeed...

Use Odin to flash back to stock rom and check the forum for the correct method to root your model, usually this involves flashing a custom recovery and the supersu.zip

Depends on the root method, I've never been forced into recovery over root.
Also I find with the g531h that I've got to pull the battery and restart over booting issues after root, installing supersu via zip in recovery didn't change that.
Reflashing to a stock firmware, flashing twrp and rooting using a flashable supersu.zip is the cleanest method, but it doesn't "force" you into recovery after a reboot, that would imply there's a problem?

@u0aol ... dude ... he never stated the root process used. the most commom is chainfire's cf-auto-root (link below)

HELP. Phone stuck on black screen after installing SuperUser.

Hey guys, I'm a little devastated. Hoping I didn't ruin my phone.
So, earlier today I unlocked my Moto G4 Plus's bootloader and installed TWRP recovery. I installed ElementalX and a superuser.zip file as well. After reboot, there was no superuser in my app drawer and when I checked my root status with Phh's Root Checker, it said that my phone was not rooted properly. I then found the guide here on how to root, and noticed that it had Phh's SuperUser. I changed the config.txt file like mentioned in the guide, booted into TWRP recovery and installed it and clicked on reboot. I got the usual bootloader unlocked message, but after that my screen went blackish-grey and has been that way since, which is about 15-20 minutes now. I (panicking and being a noob) tried switching it off using the power button which didn't work. I then checked to see if it showed up as connected device in android sdk/fastboot, which it didn't.
WHAT DO I DO? I can't just buy another phone since I can't afford it as I recently bought this one, so it's a really big deal for me. :crying:
PLEASE HELP ME.
Thank you.
UPDATE.
Hey guys,
First of all, thank you for the replies. I'm sorry I couldn't reply to them.
Secondly, a few things have happened since the OP. Keep in mind I had absolutely NO internet during the following events, so I couldn't do any research.
The night my phone went black screen, I went to sleep thinking i'll let it die out of battery and work the rest out in the morning. So the next morning I put the phone on charge and went into the bootloader. I tried doing a normal reboot which didn't work (I got the same screen) so I went into into bootloader again, connected the phone to my computer (it got recognized this time) and re-flashed TWRP. I went into recovery mode on the phone and tried re-flashing ElementalX and superuser. This time I got an error when trying to flash the superuser.zip, and the error was:
Updater process ended with ERROR: 1
Error installing zip file '/sdcard/superuser.zip'
I had another supersu.zip in my phone storage, tired installing it and got the same error.
When I tried doing a normal reboot into my system, it goes on a boot loop on the "your device is unlocked" screen and has been that way ever since.
What do I do now?
Should I try to re-flash TWRP and superuser with the right files, or should I restore stock recovery? I don't have any backup. (noob mistake)
I'd highly appreciate it anyone linked me the proper twrp and superuser or stock recovery files and if possible guided me on what to do.
PLEASE HELP ME.
thank you.
UPDATE #2
So I did what abhi212b told me to do and flashed the stock rom. Everything is fine now.
I'll try rooting it again a bit later. Thanks for the help.
UPDATE #3
I tried rooting my phone again, and it went flawlessly this time! Rooted successfully.
What an emotional rollercoaster lol.
Push the power button for at least 2-3 minutes. Worked for me and others in the past.

Like the poster above stated, hold the power button until the screen shuts off. YOUR PHONE WILL AUTO REBOOT!!! The instant the screen turns off, begin holding the volume down button. When you see the fastboot screen pop up, begin flashing your N images again, or use a custom ROM (which are generally much faster, easier to mess with, and easier to recover from).
Ex didn't flash properly.. That is what I can estimate! If u root on stock kernel, it breaks the device.
As said above go to bootloader (works on any screen... Power and volume down) and then to twrp maybe (flash twrp from fastboot). And then restore any previous nandroid u have.. If not u will have to flash stock via fastboot and then flash ex kernel. When u flash, restart and go to about phone and see if the kernel shows elemental x.. If yes, go to twrp and root it via suoersu, phhh's superuser or magisk su.. Whichever u like.. That should be fine!

Best is that u should flash stock rom, since the phone is bootlooping...
U can find it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/moto-g4-plus-xt1640-43-athene-npj25-93-t3549369
Flash it on bootloader screen via fastboot.
Do not relock the bootloader. Skip that step and also do NOT flash bootloader.img and partition. That can mess up the device.
once this is done, boot the device once... Finish the setup and then flash twrp.. Then flash ex kernel then flash any root Zip. (supersu, magisk or phhh's superuser)
Twrp can be found from here. https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...p-twrp-3-0-2-2-recovery-moto-g4-plus-t3386586

If you have not done this already, you can give it a try by flashing the stock boot.img via twrp and see if that boots the device.
I am not sure that it will work since, i have not tried it.
Exact same thing with the XT1625. I have also found that the systemless method of rooting with SuperSU kills my wifi and cellular network's connection abilities, which might just be a standard G4 thing but the only way I know of to fix it is reflashing the OS (data wipe not necessary).
Just thought this might be helpful to anyone who ran into similar issues to the ones I had.
also i'm still having issues with the stupid thing actually rooting but i'm gonna try again some other day.

I think that is the kernel issue.. you should try EX.. and then use SuperSU or maybe use Magisk SU..

Had the same problem as OP and this fixed it, thanks a lot man!
Good to hear now the phone is alive!

Phone won't boot?

Hello, I was trying to root my phone last night, I unlocked the boot loader that worked perfectly, easy. Nothing else went well, I was fighting with it TWRP for hours and then Magisk wouldn't install. I gave up on that and tried SuperSu... now the phone just stays on the loading screen instead of booting, It won't boot into recovery either just fastboot. Can it be fixed?
Your phone is soft bricked and can only boot to bootloader, correct?
The only solution is flashing the stock ROM of the device. You can get your device (Tissot) stock ROM from here.
I just got it to boot into TWRP, after it cycled a few times.
Well that may make it easier, you can try wiping dalvik cache then wiping data and see if that works. Needless to say wiping data is going to delete all your personal data, but since you're in TWRP recovery you can back it up.
Wiping it didn't work, I'm trying to use MiFlash I have downloaded "Tissot_9.0_V10.0.10.0.PDHMIXM_Fastboot" my phone is in fastboot. MiFlash detects it but when I try to flash I just get "can not found file flash_all_lock.bat"
How do you tell is MiFlash has successfully installed drivers, it gives me a window in Chinese?
If it's not working - I never thought it would anyway - then your only option is to flash stock ROM.
You can try using fastboot commands through cmd window, if it returns <waiting for device> or something similar then the driver isn't installed properly. Alternatively you can install the driver from here.
Thanks, it detects my phone. How would you recommend flashing the stock ROM? Do I need to use the same version the phone was running before?

You can use any version as long as it is meant for your device. Flashing the latest version might be best option.
Happy to help.
I tried flashing it with TWRP but just got "no digest file found" I'll try again tomorrow.
This must be the most annoying thing I've done with electronics in years, nothing wants to work.

You can find that in an XDA revised article here.
I got TWRP and Magisk installed no problem. I don't know if I was just tired or it was the crap guides but nothing wanted to cooperate on my first attempt.
