Nougat was still available for Nexus 6 I believe, which is where 32bit sources came from. There won't be O on the Nexus 6.

Maybe a dumb question. If there will be no 32-bit versions, then what is the "O Developer Preview emulator system image (32-bit & 64-bit)", part of the Android Studio 2.4 "Canary" available at developers.android.com?

The same sources can be used to compile for any platform architecture. Device specific blobs for bacon are 32 bit too.

Yes, right now some 32/64 bit switches are activated at compile time but when the sources are for 64 bit only those switches are not present, therefore you have to adapt all the sources manually.
I'm not talking about blobs but plain code.

As long as sources are plain code, it's possible to recompile for any architecture. It's not possible to use 64-bit blobs with 32-bit compilation, but with plain code I see no reason to drop Lineage for 32-bit devices.
But who knows, maybe this is too much effort. I hope we wil see O for bacon.

Damn... you may be right. 32-bit support won't be there for Google Play Services. This is very bad news.
Let's wait for Android emulators for developers. We'll see if arm32 system images for O will be there. If so, there is a hope. Just checked, there are no any O images available for download in my Android Studio sdk manager yet. They should be available soon.

Support for x86 and Arm
It doesn't say "x86". Ubuntu Phone and Tablet is *targeted* at ARM devices so any x86 compiling we need to do ourselves from the source code they released. But we also need drivers for that, a dev (or a few devs) that's willing to port it and compile it for our x86 and we need someone to port over all ARM apps that are currently being created by third party developers.
Also, we need to adjust the touchscreen because the launcher is hard to reach with no bezel. I've been running Ubuntu Phone Experience on my Razr i for some weeks now and it's hard to detect because you really need to trigger the bezel so that's gonna need some work too after the port's done.

im also very interested as to which phones will be supported...but not only that but how easy will it be to get your device supported...im over in Asia and there aren't variants that aren't well supported by the major custom rom developers like AOKP, CM, Panandroid....which makes it really hard and sucks to get in on the "open source" goodness...i hope Omni is easy to bring to a large selection of phones...
EDIT: ok, well that makes sense the vanilla versions...just hope its easier to get more on board...

Asian phones implying mediatek based? There are a few commits in Gerrit to add support for them, but I think it's still not usable. They'll do their best
As for not being supported. Unfortunately it's down to getting a device maintainer. There will be guides posted no doubt, and this is xda. Basically a massive manual on hacking android

If you can get AOSP to run on your device, you should be able to get Omni to run. Currently, a device tree needs nothing significant beyond an AOSP tree (I think about 3 lines of changes to make an AOSP tree work in Omni). This means work on porting Omni is helpful to those wanting AOSP as well.

I don't know about Ubuntu, but MIUI and OmniRom seems to be very resource consuming, and Moto E will not run stable as CM11 or PA.
This is what a heard. Maybe with the improvements in android lollipop, we can get any of this somehow in a distant future.

Android 5.1 rolling out now! Finally!

It seems that nobody talk about it... Updates are always welcomed!
http://officialandroid.blogspot.de/2015/03/android-51-unwrapping-new-lollipop.html
edit: It's true! It's rolling out after more than 3 month of waiting
Well someone mentioned it in another topic. I think we'll have to wait a few days (or weeks). Mostlikely we'll see a custom 5.1 first, as the source code is already published.
Anyways, I look forward and hope that the did something with the memory management. I looked at their changelog and saw that ~20 memory leaks was found and fixed. That is the major issue for me at the moment. Multitaksing with two tabs in Chrome and spotify playing along with FB+messenger is really horrible. Also I'm planning to run custom ROM/Kernel after they have been updated to 5.1.

It does make sense. First 64-bit device. Maybe they have to da some more adjustments. But could be a reason imho.
