Screen touch responsiveness - Huawei Mate 9 Pro Questions & Answers

Anyone else having to double tap the screen for it to register your click when trying to click on something? It's getting annoying

No issues here. I have read certain aftermarket screen protectors will cause the screen to be less responsive.

I only have the screen protector that came with the phone. It's a very odd issue. I tried turning on the gloves mode feature amongst other settings with no success.

The screen "protector" that came with the phone, is not really a protector for daily use, just for the "transport" ... i replaced it with a professionell one from a company, and the touch response is now much better as before!

left side of touchscreen unresponsive

I bought a used nexus S today. and surpringly i found that an area (vertical rectangle) on the left side of the screen is not sensitive at all.
The screen is totally unresponsive on this area. So can you please help and tell me if it's a hardware problem or not? (no warrantly as it is a used phone)

Most likely hardware problem try and flash different rom and see if it fixes problem.if not its probably the digitizer that is causing the problem

rumor:
i have seen a problem very much like yours in other forum , in which , someone gave an answer and worked , but , i am not for if it is real or they were just bullshitting
get a lighter , you should have one if you smoke , take out that part which make fire , i dont know how exactly call it .
one way to identify it is what i want to say. if you put your finger over it , you should feel small electrical shock when you push the button
find that part , and shock the screen where unresponsive with it ...
don't ask me how is it works , i dont know ... you can either ignore me or take a shot...
good luck to you
....
you may not have warranty , but i think you can find some mobile shop to fix it , of course , you need to pay for it...

one thing i can tell you
in China , replace SLCD screen needs about 600 CNY , which means about 100 USD
SA creen nees about 900 CNY , about 150 USD ...

The flint???
No he's talking about an electronic lighter.
No idea how safe it is to send a shock of current through the capacitive screen though, read up more before you attempt.

i said this is rumor and i am not sure if it is real or just bull****
consider thing wouldn't get any worse , you may worth to try it
Flashed different roms and results is the same.
Did someone try the lighter solution?
Is it easy to change the digitizer?

No you need to seperate digitizer from the screen. Risking breaking the screen. You can buy the digizteir and screen that is preassembled buy it's pricy.
.around 100 I think. Buy the digitizer and take it to the local shop its probably cheaper that way.

I have the same problem with the area by the backspace and "p" keys in portrait mode and along the status bar in landscape with the charging port to the right.
I went running with my phone in my waistband. Stupid I know. When I got home, my phone was soaked and the screen was 100% unresponsive and the colors would change intermittently.
I put it in a bowl of rice for a few days in a warm area of my apt, but it hasn't fully recovered two months later. You MAY consider removing the screen and checking for particulates or trapped water vapor. I've been meaning to, but haven't managed to get the tools yet.
I'd be interested to here about your solution if you find one.
Best of luck.

in the first few seconds , the author demonstrated right side of his screen "number 3 6 9 " were non-responsive , and then he use that thing from lighter , shock the screen thought his finger, sure , that's gonna be little hurt...
but , be careful , i also read , this method MAY REDUCE THE LIFE OF SCREEN.
Thank you very much for your answer. As said above, things can't be worse. I'll try this method and tell you the results.

Quite a few people reported dead pixels on their screen, fortunately I'm not one of them, so it's always good to check. To test, just set full screen wallpapers in 100% black, white, blue, red and green and inspect the screen with full brightness.
For the rest in hardware, play music, make a call, find a touchscreen test app, connect WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.

Guys, just update and it will be fine. Last kernel included in january firmware fixed all bugs (aod grayishness, screen flickering etc.) You can flash Luxembourg firmware if you have carrier unlocked j730.
I the most times you just need to do factory reset

Make your Samsung S9 Plus work with ANY Tempered Glass on the market!

Really? When I tested it, it seems fine. Do you still get skipped key presses even after turning it on?
Is your glass adhered properly to the display?
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
I find that it is TOO sensitive when it's enabled using a glass protector. But without it enabled, it's not sensitive enough. Sigh. Wish they'd let us calibrate it.
P.s. I'm using a zagg glass curve elite ATM on both my S9 and S9+ and same issue. Just purchased some T-Max (generic Whitestone rip off at less than half the price of a Whitestone) so will see how those go.
Haha I guess it is one step to a better future. Where do you find it too sensitive? Is it at the curve areas?

Nah in general the whole screen. Especially when I'm typing on keyboard it always makes accidental keyboard presses.
Lol ok I guess a LOCA based tempered glass like InvisShield True Fit may be suitable for you then in this case
Does enabling it drain the battery faster?

Can you be more specific on "destroyed". Is the logic board intact?
Changing the glass is something you're not supposed to do, and Samsung tries to screw you by making it so you destroy the amoled display, if you want to buy a replacement panel, they're not cheap, they are worth like 70usd (an amoled one not those crappy LCD imitations).
Its even a better idea to buy a used S5, they're like 80usd nowadays

Indeed its a feasible task, but a pain in the ass, for you may end up breaking the panel once you press the glass and the glue, let's say it is a hit or miss, but you will sure agree that samsung made it nearly unfixable so that you better buy a new display module instead of just changing the glass.

It's not the most dangerous stage of the process.
I'd say, cleaning after the glass separation is the most dangerous. Especially if you have to replace the polarizer (the LCD becomes too thin and easy-breakable without it).

I think, Samsung's aim was to make an excellent display and this was really achieved.
You know, this is difficult for the first and, probably, the second time to replace the glass only.
I'd suggest training on the broken LCDs.
You'll find it to be much more easy the third time
