[ROM] [5.1.1] Flyme OS 5 for OnePlus X by shumxin (9thth August 2016 Update)

I'm not ROM's developer. I saw it on chinese forum and want to share it. Credits go to shumxin. I'm using his ColorOS 2.1 port for daily driver and it is great. There are several bugs in this ROM at the moment. It's still in development. I'm currently testing it. Information below is translated by google translate
[5.18] Fix bug:
1. Optimize global theme, repair drop-down button on the status bar to replace failed

Just flashed today. Rom looks super smooth with new flyme UI, we have settings shortcut in the statusbar now. There is no lag as in the previous version. Installed google installer from inbuilt appstore and everything is working as expected till now. And the best thing is this Rom supports Layers unlike ColorOS. But, sadly there is no Oneplus X radio this time.

How did you install goole play ? I download it from meizu app store. I've tried several times but play store give me error DF DLA 15. I can't download any app from play store

Which version of google installer you installed?
If you have installed the latest one, remove it, clear data and clear cache of google related apps (google services framework, google playstore etc.), uninstall all google apps, reboot and download the version of google installer as shown in the screenshot.
Or, simply flash the rom again and install the google installer version as shown in the image.
To download previous version of google installer, follow these steps,
1. Open inbuilt Appstore
2. Search for Google Installer
3. Scroll to bottom and select View History
4. Select version 1.4.4 or 1.4.3 and install

I just install this rom ...play store is ok for me...but for super su it doesnt work ...how to please ?

I flashed SuperSU v2.71 beta and it's working fine for me.
Had trouble initially as my data and playstore stopped working.
Wiped dalvic cache for data to work again.
And, removed all google apps and reinstalled through google installer for playstore to work.

For me too with a reboot play store didn't work so I can't stay with this rom for a daily use but it's interesting....

Did you tried inbuilt root option?
You can find it under settings->security->root permission
Edit: tried inbuilt root option. It's not working with error "failed to write permission"

Performance is excellent I would say, with a nice UI.
It's not lagging at all as in the previous versions of Flyme.

Yester day I flashed this rom. Rom is very smooth. But the issue, GPS is not locating my location in google maps. Does any body have this issue?
Please help me on this.

It worked for me when set the GPS lock to high accuracy.

Pixel Launcher

Hello all
the OnePlus 5 will be my first "not google" smartphone - since now I had always Nexus phones with google stock launcher or the incredible pixel launcher. I saw several screenshots and videos from unofficial pixel launchers here in this forum but none of them were like the original pixel launcher (with the searchbar and latest news when you swipe left).
I would just like to know whether it is possible to have a pixel looking design with my new OnePlus. I can download the original pixel launcher via playstore but can I access it with a OnePlus too?
Sorry if this sounds stupid but as I said it's this is my first change of manufacturer with android devices.

To use the Pixel Launcher from the playstore you need at least android Nougat which OP5 does come with so yes. OxygenOS is very similar to stock android anyway.

I'm think I'll just go for the good old Nova Launcher I mean.... who can live without Icon packs ?

I`ve never done this before (installing an app as system app) do I just need to install the pixel launcher normally and follow these steps http://www.droidviews.com/install-third-party-apps-system-apps-android/ or are there zip files I can flash directly in TWRP to make it work.

I always have root and then install Titanium Backup. Once you install the app Titanium can covert it to a system app.

Nova has the swipe to Google now as well. So yeah same here. I'm back on good old nova

You can use a mod, I prefer the apk. Means it can be updated without waiting for the dev. Not seen the mod, may be possible with that as well.

I could have sworn I saw in one of the YouTube OP5 reviews that the Oxygen stock OS has an icon pack changing feature in the settings. This article is for the OP3/3T but I doubt that feature has been removed "How to Change Icon Packs on the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T".

Couldn't agree more. The need to use dark wallpapers just to get rid of the white was driving me nuts, plus it is very inconsistent in how it reads "dark" vs. "light".
The theme I'm using "flux" still has a few quirks when it comes to the android system theming, but overall no major issues!

I'm using flux but can't get the systemui to theme...is this the quirk you were talking about?

A lot of themes need to be updated to work on P.. Especially System UI part has changed a lot.
Sai's theme is updated to work with P. There are few minor parts that are not getting themes properly. That's why it's not updated on play store. But the theme is nice though.

Yeah notifications stay white, and the qs icons get coloured oddly (when toggled they are a solid colour), otherwise it seems to be working fairly well for me. Sai's theme is nice but I like a pure black theme instead of just dark, plus I like the very vivid colours of flux. I may switch though.

Search Sai's Oreo theme on play store. There is a theme support link in the description. Unfortunately I can't copy the link to the telegram channel.

I use Compound theme for System and System UI and Swift Black for theming the apps.

I've used PitchBlack for the apps.

I don't know what's going on, I still can't get any theme to stick. Just tried Sai's theme. After I Build & Enable, I go to the Manager and it says No Overlays Installed. I've rebooted and everything.

You're suppose to install and enable.. reboot. Enable all under theme manager. Reboot once more.

Anyone have trouble with some google apps not working after overlays are enabled for an hour or more? My play store, and Gmail fc every time after an overlay is enabled for a short time. Then in order to get it to open again(an app) I have to uninstall updates and it works. I hate temporary fixes so and advice would be great. Running july P beta, rooted magisk 16.6, and running compound substratum..

Happens with Play store and Google maps. I use Swift dark for those

On the Pixel the 999 build wouldn't work...download the 998 beta and installed and it worked. Same with this phone on Android P Beta.

Guys - Slightly off topic, but just sharing my learnings from my mistakes. I was playing mix and match on my UNrooted, Bootloader Locked Oreo 8.1 Essential when Substratum bootlooped and killed me! There was no way to recover from this (the best that I can understand), without an authenticated ADB or an unlocked bootloader to install TWRP to flash the rescue zip.
Please correct me if I am wrong, otherwise, let's please share with other users. Thanks!

Factory reset from recovery or a fastboot -w from bootloader

For those who got no overlays installed even tho overlays are built and phone rebooted, disable all magisk modules first, build overlays, reboot, enable overlays, enable modules, reboot ?

GRX TouchWiz Mod (For Non-Rooted Phone)

Hello Guys,
Most of them Wanted GRX TouchWiz Mode for Non-Rooted Phones So i have Modded the GRX to work on Galaxy Note-9 SM-N960F and SM-N960U Only (oreo 8.1) (No Root Required)
Installation Guide,
1) Install the TouchWiz.apk and GRXTouchWiz.apk as Normal Installation you do
2) If you have the SABS or Package disabler pro you disable the Samsung Touchwiz.apk (or you if dont have app to disable no issue, just go to settings and make touchwiz home in installed apps section as default Launcher)
3) Then go to settings and give permissions for the TouchWizHome.apk for Phone and storage and go to Advance options and then turn ON apps that can appear on top, and apps that can change system settings.
Thats it, all done
In case If the Installation fails then go to settings/Apps/(press on 3 dot option)/Show system app/Samsung Experience Launcher/(press on 3 dot option)/Uninstall Update/ Then Re-Follow the Installation Guide from 1st

In landscape mode the apps text wont come and the widgets wont resize properly

Thanks for this. One thing I like is that it would allow increasing grid size, but curious if there are other features? Also, to revert back to Samsung Experience if needed, do we just choose it as default Home again, and uninstall?

you can uninstall this if you dont want, (there are more features like the icons go edge below the navigation bar much more explore in the GRX mode settings apk for more customisation

Thers is one way to do it:
With root explorer put the downloaded apk in folder system/priv-app/weather
In this folder is alocated the file called "weather.apk". Delete it .
You only must rename the downloaded apk to "weather.apk".
Then apply permissions like the image I left attached.
Reboot.
That's it.

Yeah but you need to root your device, mine is not, so I have just deleted the Weather app using debloat tool, which doesn't requires root. Have deleted AOD and Theme as well.
For weather app, location isn't working for me. AOD app is ok but the Theme app cannot connect to network.

Yeah but you need to root your device, mine is not, so I have just deleted the Weather app using debloat tool, which doesn't requires root. Have deleted AOD and Theme as well.
For weather app, location isn't working for me. AOD app is ok but the Theme app cannot connect to network.

The AOD app does'nt work for me, too. Can't connect with the network.
This could be an issue due to some lib needed with new MIUI or the network page still in work process.
Weather app works fine for me.

On the same website I have posted the address above, you can download Miui 12 live wallpapers. It is pretty nice.

Yeah they are but did u manage do set it up for homescreen and lockscreen? I manage homescreen.

Yeah I have set them for both, using Google Wallpapers app, without it I couldn't use them.
For the aod app did you try to change the region of the phone? I cannot as I am on Xiaomi.eu rom, but maybe it can work?

Yeah i also did use Google Wallpapers app and i tried changed region a again just homescreen. I am on global so maybe problem is global rom.

Changing region is for the aod and theme apps.
Yes maybe issue is because of global rom for wallpaper (or it needs developer rom maybe).

hi, I tried to install apk miui 12or 11 on Pixel experience but despite changing the persistent it does not open, it installs but does not open maybe you can help me,

Hi, after update to miui 12...wether aplication v 12.2.2.1 can't start, ot say installed from unofficial source.
Cant remove it, tried with adb shell, with adb tool... Can just disable it.
Is there any solution, my phone isn't rooted.

Having exactly the same issue if anyone can help it is really annoying the update cannot be uninstalled. I even reinstalled whole rom official I am not rooted but nothing

Now i cannot start weather anymore
