hi folks,
i want to enable usb-tethering, but it's greyed out. i tried to manipulate build.prop with adding "net.tethering.noprovisioning=true", but that didn't work.
has anyone an idea how to enable usb-tethering on galaxy tab a sm-t580 (6.0.1)?
...your data saving mode if it's enabled. Just turn it off and it should work I think., that did the trick for me

Hey all! I'm new here and I just rooted my Vibrant as per justadude's instructions. Worked great! But now I'm having an issue with my USB connection to a PC. I when connected the USB notification icon sometimes doesn't appear, and when it does it doesn't give me the option to mount my device. I searched the forum and found a solution by setting up USB debugging, but is there any way to fix this without that on? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!
try to change your USB settings.
Sorry, but what should my settings be?

Did you ever set up multiuser? Maybe it thinks you aren't the first user.
I think I might be having the same issue

With regards to your problem about ptp and mtp, I too cannot change those settings. I select one, and exit. Then when I return, the choice I made has disappeared?
But I can turn off and on the developer settings.
Hey everyone,
Ive recently had a problem trying to use a few root apps with my phone that require USB debugging and to my surprise found out it turns itself off after I leave the options screen.
Is this a normal security feature? Is there a way to keep it on?
Obviously it stays on when activated and connected to USB on a PC, but that does not help me when an app needs it. I have never seen this behavior before yet everything in USB debugging sticks (except some options after re-boot like DPI)
And thats another question,
How do we keep DPI changes in developer mode to stick after reboot.
Maybe there is a config XML somewhere in the system as normal DPI changes to the sparse Build.prop do not work since dpi is controlled via rom level.
Any help or input would be appreciated if this usb debugging thing is not normal for everyone.
If anyone knows about the DPI thing that would ne also helpful
I want to use scrcpy to remote control my Shield TV Pro (2019). I've enabled development mode, but can't see an option anywhere to enaboe ADB network debugging. Does anyone know where this option is?
Go to Settings / Device Preferences / Developer Options / Network debugging
Off course you had to have the Developer option enabled first.

I can now finally see Developer Options - it didn't appear immediately after I'd enabled the Developer option (or at least I couldn't find it if it has appeared).
Thanks
