How about you tell everyone what you are trying to do, and what you are typing in command prompt.
Android Debug Bridge....
Do you have Samsung drivers installed/setup?
Take a nice deep breath and do one learning step at a time. Android has a lot to teach. I would also encourage learning the phone use basics, reading up on things before attempting any mods. Welcome to android family.

lol ... well i already opened another thread about how to put hebrew fonts on the phone to support hebrew instead of seing empty boxes on facebooks and websites and what not... my phone Was rooted, Was voodooed but there was force closing on things and market stopped working so i completely stocked the phone, only thing that doesnt work now is my phone memory which is on 0.00 which i read and you apparently have to root the phone all over again
so right now... the phone memory is my only issue, i guess i can live without hebrew if its too much of a hassle to install while rooted::
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=480964
i have no idea how to work this^^^
i have the drivers installed like i said, i was able to odin, root, and voodoo, clockwork as well ofcourse. now phone is completely stock except for that memory issue.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=804457&highlight=phone+memory
completely got lost in this thread... so yeah, those are my problems with the phone at the moment. i wont mention the obvious of gps etc.
another awesome issue, everytime my phone is turned off and back on, it starts that set up process all over again... language; facebook; google... etc... why?
Once you install adb on your computer you have to go to change the path on your computer to point to that folder. Or you can change your directory to the one that holds the adb file from within the command prompt. This should allow you to run the commands.
The issue you are having with the memory on your phone is because voodoo did not completely uninstall. You can fix this by running the steps in this forum to uninstall voodoo. Don't try the one step zip, you are going to have to do the three step manual method to make this work. Don't forget the final step to wipe data.
Once this is done voodoo will be gone, memory should be back, and phone should stop resetting on every boot.
Obviously you aren't the only one to ever have these issues. But you can recover.
Good luck.

Here is what I did:
Wanted to flash new ROM, [ROM] Super Clean DI01 + AOSP apps, (Thanks to everyone who worked on it AND everyone on this forum cause Ive spent the past week reading the threads and felt confident enough in the info and the support to try).
BUT
when trying to download with ODIN (not certain if this was the right method, too late now) found that it did not work, couldnt see file when looking in the PDA browse.
STUPIDLY disconnected phone from computer while in DOWNLOAD MODE. You know, when the screen says "DONT DISCONNECT FROM TARGET". Apparently, the rebus string for "you dun f*cked up" is a phone symbol... a yellow triangle w/!...computer symbol.
What do I do to get back to fun?
Tried reboot, tried CWR reboot, tried Nandroid restore w/reboot still the YDFU symbol
*EDIT* I continued searching while awaiting a response and found this thread: Stuck on connection warning screen. This got me out of the YDFU screen into a nice force loop. Since I am not a -complete noob- I pulled a nandroid backup outta my hat and ...tada back to good, now to the fun!
To keep it relatively short, for whatever reason, my recovery is corrupted or broken. I had flashed clockwork, did a full backup, and have my UID and all of that stuff. Today, sometime after I started downloading files from Google Music, my tablet restarted, and now programs and applications constantly crash, presumibly since the tablet seems to be locked in Read Only mode. Chmod seems to work, but then nothing actually changes. Ive been able to seemingly uninstall root, and reinstall it, but its a hassle, and I dont think that works correctly.
Obviously, without recovery, I cannot flash anything, and without being able to write correctly, I cant get it to update. Acer Recovery says that it is successful, but it is not, and simply reboots the tablet.
One user described it as "GroundHog Day" as the tablet returns to the state it was in previously.
So yeah, I need help getting recovery back and working again, so I can either wipe this rom or do something entirely different. Thanks!
Edit: I should say, the stock Acer recovery seems like it wants to load, then it errors with:
Secure Boot: image SOS checksum fail
But none of the fixes work, nor does hitting volume up and the toggle to clear user data.

Are you using Iconia Root to root and unroot? Let's start there?
Off to bed, I'm sure one of the other "late nighters" will be able to help you.
My only question is that you stated you installed CWM, if so, why didn't you create a full backup with it instead of nandroid?
Yes, I used Iconia Root to do the deed, which has worked since I got the unit a week ago until today.
And thats what I mean in terms of backing up, my apologies (im just use to calling it Nandroid for whatever reason).
I have no idea how the recovery got wiped though.

I STRONGLY recommend you read the following thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129873
Looks like you flashed something and didn't run "itsmagic".
Ive tried that, and no go. As far as I can remember, I havent flashed anything in days, since updating to the latest update a few days ago. And its been fine since then, until today. I started downloading google music stuff, went to the bathroom, came back and my tablet was off. I can give it another go though.
If it wasn't clear, I can definitely boot, its just with all those errors
But you get a checksum error, right? Have you gone through the steps in that thread that detail how to fix the checksum error?
If so, I suggest you contact sc2k.
Correct, if I hold the volume - and power, it gives that error. Just ran through the steps for the "<CASE 1> SOS checksum error" again to be safe, and its the same. I PM'ed him earlier (maybe twice..), but I can only assume he's sleeping, so I was just trying to see if anyone has any ideas.
Edit: from my ADB Shell session, just to show that it seems to want to work anyway? But of course, the same old..
# /data/local/itsmagic
Some magic trick by @sc2k on xda
it tricks the bootloader to run any kernel you want.
Thx @Acer for making this so easy.. why did you say the BL is locked if it isn't?
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
Done. Have fun!

Your best option is to wait until sc2k gets back to you, then. Don't worry. He's a fairly nice guy and has helped plenty of folks sort out similar issues on their tabs. Just remember to beer him afterwards!
Of course Thanks for your help regardless, I figured it was worth a shot. Of course, it does this right before I am to go camping for a few days (I had some maps and stuff on here to use as backup).

AH, y'see, now you know what caused it in the first place! You tempted the fates! Never tempt the fates, for they are mean and sadistic beings that just LOVE to screw with folks right before they go camping.

I was unable to get root access for my Galaxy S for about 1 week, and today I finally could do it. Unfortunately, I rushed to try all of the apps I downloaded before that need root access, one of which was supposed to change the battery icon's (that in the upper tray) appearance. When I clicked on that, the mobile rebooted and kept giving again and again the (Samsung GT-I9000 Galaxy S) screen without proceeding to operation. What made it worse, as I think, is that because I was afraid and very concerned, I tried to do anything and so I entered into recovery mode and kept pressing on things I don't remember exactly but what I do is that I think I unmounted the SD. It's urgent; any1 plz try to help me as soon as possible.

Simply put the phone in download mode and flash the same firmware. The app you used probably caused the bootloop, likely because it wasn't made for your phone/firmware.
Next time, read and learn about it before you do it. And also, just some advice, before you do ANYTHING that will potentially cause your phone to bootloop or no longer work, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS do a nandroid backup (which can be done in recovery mode). That way, if it messes up your phone, you can simply restore the backup and be right back where you left off.
Good luck!
Thnx for ur concern and advices. I already did that the day after I posted; I discovered another thread on the forum and followed the instructions, and yeah sure I won't rush in these things again .
This kind of this happens all the time when we began in the flash world ajajaj
Don't worry this is the way everyone learns.
Hi everyone, I've searched and tried some solutions for this but the problem is the display is permanently black, not even samsung logo is displayed on bootup.
My GT-i9505 has a CWM recovery installed and a custom ROM, and today it notified me that SU Binary needs to be updated, so I updated it and it said Success, recommend to reboot, which I did.
It seemed to boot up but the display was constantly black. Manually turned it off by holding down power button, then restarted but still nothing.
I have Odin and samsung drivers etc, just not sure if I should try and flash a stock/new Custom ROM from Odin or if theres an easier way to do it (maybe someone can guide me thru the CWM recovery and be my eyes since my screen is Black?)
Please and thank you.
First of all, you better switch to TWRP.
Second, maybe try flashing a SuperSU zip through the recovery.
If that doesn't work, then try dirty flashing your current rom again.

Thanks for the goble-de-goop, I have no idea what you are saying (this is n00b friendly forum topic!) and how can I even try that when there's nothing but blackness on my screen?
It is booting and running, touch is working etc but I'm completely blind. Can someone please try to help with n00b friendly suggestions, will flashing a new Custom ROM work? And I'd like to know what has happened after the SU binary update that caused screen/backlight to become non-functional...
Just to point out, I'm not being rude I am being up-front, the first reply I get from here is exactly what I expected, not n00b friendly but more of a suggestion from a nerd who wants to show the other readers that he really 'knows his stuff', however un-useful it is.
I know a little but not enough to solve this on my own, I'm hoping someone out there see's this and unselfishly suggests something without turning it into debate about n00bs not asking the right questions in the right place at the right time!
My phone doesn't work, I need it to work, stupid SU binary update has screwed it, please help!

...err...wow...
do you have a HDMI adaptor cable aka MHL adaptor or a chromecast type device at home ? it maybe that your screen has just died and that it's nothing to do with the binary (if it's booting normally albeit with a blank screen).

Good idea, I do have chromecast but will need mini HDMI cable/adaptor to check. Although it would be massive odds against random screen death, since it was immediately after reboot from SU binary.
Thanks for the intelligent reply, glad to see there are still some helpful people here.
if you can borrow a lead and your screen is being mirrored you can download an image file of TWRP and flash it with flashify from the store. I doubt screen mirroring works from the recovery
http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.flashify
unzip the attached file and copy it to your SDcard then find it within the flashify app...
Awesome OK that gives me a starting point TY. When I connect the MHL adapter will it mirror automatically or will I have to try to blindly press the mirror symbol? I haven't used an MHL adapter/cable before. If it works then I'll use Flashify and hope it restores the phone screen.
if it's going to work it will work without any selecting of options, it's automatic...
If the you run out of solutions, you could flash a stock ROM back to your phone as this will bring the phone back to the factory settings; however, you will lose your data and installed apps.
If you decide to flash back to stock using Odin, I suggest launching Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time, connect the phone in download mode, flash the rom, when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, wait 5 seconds and replace the battery, boot into recovery, perform a factory reset, and reboot. Be sure to use the stock firmware from sammobile.com for your phone.

Since you said you have CWM recovery and a rom installed I assumed you would knew how to flash stuff. Unless they were flashed by somebody else?
Anyway, flashing SuperSU.zip is as easy as googling for the zip then boot into recovery and flash the zip file.
Unless the recovery is dark too. Then that's a problem.
And flashing the rom again is done the same way. No need for TVs and chromecasts.
Theoretically, flashing the SuperSU.zip should work, as it replaces the binaries.
Flashing the rom should work too. Unless you have a dead screen. Then no software can fix it.
When you're using apps that modify system files things like this can happen. Something may have went wrong during the update.
@GDReaper he's already said "how can I even try that when there's nothing but blackness on my screen?" to your suggestion of flashing via recovery so MHL will help him
1) to see if the phone is running normal minus the screen
2) to replace CWM as you suggested without using recovery (which he won't be able to do even with MHL).

So I probably misunderstood him. He said it is booting and so I thought that, during the booting, the screen works, and only when you are about to go into the OS the screen is black (As it happened to me before). My bad.
If the screen is black during the whole process it means the screen is busted. And it was probably just a coincidence, as I don't really see how updating the su binaries can damage the screen.

Ok. Then it is definitely a screen problem. Changing software won't fix it.
You have to get a new screen.
I've tried the cable, no output to HDMI though. Phone is operating but in complete black screen from power on. Have tried to tap the screen mirroring button blindly (by touching all the top system buttons one by one) but no change. This leads me to think it is a software/firmware issue, somehow the SU binary has affected graphics output???
So my only chance now is try to flash using Odin? I have downloaded a new Custom ROM, ResurrectionRemix-M-v5.6.4-20160223-jfltexx but I think I can only flash that one using recovery which will be difficult blind, unless someone can give me precise button sequence. Unfortunately I can't remember exactly what recovery I have on there, but I think it may be the touch version...
I flashed TWRP using Odin no probs, but still no use as screen is still blank from power on.
I was going to revert to stock first but sammobile.com downloads at only 15kb/s so I'm not waiting 2 days for that 1.5gb download.
Can someone please give me a link to a good download for my GT-i9505, that I can flash with Odin. I want a light Custom ROM but if not possible to flash from PC then I'll try stock first.
Thanks,
Hi guys, I have a similar problem. I had a notification saying I need to "Update the #SU Binary". There was issues with the update, it gave me the option of restarting or trying the update again. I selected to try the update again. It failed again and now the screen is black with constant error messages, saying "Unfortunately, Galaxy Apps has stopped", "Unfortunately, S Health has stopped". Pretty much the same error message recurring with every app that would normally run on start up, then the phone just reboots itself every 5 minutes after the error messages have all done a round. I am desperate to recover the data on the phone.

There isn't much you can do. Backup user data and factory reset.
Script to fix the Nexus 5X / Nexus 6P Bootloop problem
Credits
99% credit goes to @squabbi for teaching how to patch files yourself and @XCnathan32 for discovering the fix itself.
1% for me for making the script .
DISCLAIMER
THIS PROCESS WIPES ALL YOUR DATA (unless your bootloader is already unlocked) AND PROBABLY YOUR WARRANTY TOO! USE WITH CAUTION! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE!
THIS PROCESS WILL MAKE YOUR PHONE SLOWER (6P 2 times slower, 5X 1.5 times slower)! PLEASE USE ONLY AS A LAST RESORT!
PLEASE CONTACT YOUR WARRANTY TO TRY AND GET A REPLACEMENT BEFORE PROCEEDING!
What does the fix do?
The problem with those phones are the cores of the Cortex A57, and they need to be disabled.
What should you do?
Before proceeding, make sure you have OEM Unlocking enabled on your device, or the flashing won't work!
1. Download the zip below
2. Extract the zip
3. Extract the boot.img from the image you've downloaded (the script explains how to do it if you don't know how) to the folder you've downloaded
4. Open "Script.bat"
You should also download a factory image from this link (unless you live in Japan, don't download the Softbank versions, and unless you live in Australia, don't download the Telstra versions):
6P - https://developers.google.com/android/images#angler
5X - https://developers.google.com/android/images#bullhead
The script itself was not tested, but the method did work on my 5X so it should work.
If you have any requests, you can comment them here, and maybe I'll add them. One day.
I do plan on adding TWRP, Elemental X and Magisk patching one day, and if there will be many requests that day will come earlier.

Thanks, I did the new script and it's kinda getting too long on that boot (circle things) screen. I hope it gets to "android" thing in the end
So I flashed the March rom, It stuck on those circle things. Turned it off to cool down a bit and will power on in an hour. Let's see what happens next.
Yea, it did that for me too and then booted

For my 5x, it booted, but then I've tried to update, but it started bootlooping again, so I've flashed it again and again with no luck. Then I've turned the phone off for some time to cool down, and after that when I've powered it on it just magically worked, and is working since.

I'm glad to hear! If you could please "Thank" the post, it will be much appreciated. For your question, I haven't used my script on my phone, I've just followed the steps in @squabbi 's video, and then I've decided to create an automated script (which is the script in this thread) to patch it automatically. Which basically means, yes, I have flashed a BLOD "workaround" patch.

When you say freezes do you mean that it lags?
I guess that's ok, as you've disabled the cores, it should get slower. And please (I don't know if you've done that, but I'll still say) NEVER disable oem unlocking on this phone, because maybe it will happen again.
And by the way, I'm a newbie. I've just made a script that automates the patching process but I don't really understand that much about it. I would recommend you (and that's what I've done) to download the newest image, open the flash-all.bat file to flash it onto your phone (this will wipe everything, and install the newest version), power your phone on (it should start bootlooping again) once, and then do what you would do (boot to bootloader, run the script). Maybe the problem is that you've downloaded a wrong version of the boot.img (that means that you haven't downloaded your version, but the newest one. What I just said insures that you flash the right one). To check the right version, go to about > build number, and where you download your image, search for the exact build number. If the problems continue, maybe it's the script. I'll patch the files myself and send them to you. And if all of the above doesn't work, I will redirect you to @XCnathan32 or @squabbi, they will probably help you more.

When you say freezes do you mean that it lags?

No it just freezes for 3 to 5 seconds and then the phone restarts. But the boot image is also from march update...

Flashed the March ROM again. Used the script and it successfully installed. On the first boot it stuck on those 4 circles. Sounds like cooling down is the only answer. I can't use my phone constantly :/

I get error of adbwinapi...What can I do? (N5X)

Same here, I get an error
After selecting that I am unlocked...
The pop up is fastboot.exe - syetem error
The code execution cannot proceed because AdbWinApi.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
It does pop up a second time after you click ok...
and then your script says it's done.. but it's not.
=====
I added the dll whicih can be found in the adb tools, I don't get the pop up but then your script says "waiting for any device" so there is something wrong somewhere as my phone is plugged in, and ready.

I fixed the AdbWinApi.dll error, download the script again and tell me what happens. Maybe the original fastboot.exe in my zip was a different version of the AdbWinApi.dll that you added and that's why it didn't work.

the script worked.
Now should I flash TWRP 4 core recovery (edit seems so) and use the AK injector or not needed?
What is Elemental X?
p.s. Thanks!

I'm glad it worked. There is no need to flash TWRP and use the AK injector as you've already flashed a 4 core boot image. If you want, you can flash 4 core TWRP, but that's optional.
Last question hopefully.
I have tried sooo many things to fix this phone, unblod thing, flashing various files and the boot-safe.img, twrp 4 core, AK injector, factory image, in various order and multiple times. None of them worked, well unblod worked but no WiFi and when I fixed WiFi, BLOD restarted...
Is there a way the phone needs to be for the script to work? Factory image I guess?
Your script worked, but now at the Google logo stuck there. Not sure I should force reboot or wait. I't not in bootloop but doesn't move past the Google logo.

I did a quick search and some website said try resetting the phone. If that doesn't work, try to flash a factory image to make it bootloop again, and try the script. If all of that doesn't work I suggest asking @XCnathan32 or @squabbi because they probably understand it better than me.
