My Moto G4 Plus charges super slowly.
Like it would take 6 hours to charge from 0 to 100, no matter what charger I use, even the Turbo charger.
However, if I reboot the phone, the phone charges quickly, but after a day's use, it's back to slow charging when I plug it in at night.
I have no idea what's causing this, I am on the 'NPJ25.93-14' build and I had reset the phone once after updating it to this build and before using it.
This doesn't seem to be related to any app because the discharge rate is normal.
Can someone help me out with this issue please? I don't really want to reset

The cable and the turbo adapter, make sure they are super connected to each other. Like, the USB at the end of the cable is sooooo in the adapter. You may think at first that it is all the way in but actually it should be all the way IN there. Happened to me the first time I was charging my phone. I didn't realize it was not all the way in. Push it more.

Then that might be the problem. Not all sockets have the same amount of voltage. You may be plugging it in a low voltage socket that causes your phone to charge very slow. The socket where it charges fast, that's where you should charge it.

But other phones are charging fine.
And no matter what socket I use, after reboot charging works fast on every socket.
This is some kind of software related issue, how come does a reboot fix the issue?

I will suggest take a backup and wipe all data then restore from this backup..
And when charging switch off your phone..
When charging when switched on turn on Aeroplane mode..
Switch off data and wifi, hotspot, location...etc while charging..
I am having same problem.
Change charging wire and check

This can be solved very easily. Just have to use a different way of approach.
First:
Keep charging around 50%(not necessarily but will help you to notice changes).
Second:
Play a hard core game( which will drain your battery rapidly). Then again charge till where you had in first step(approximation not necessary).
Third:
Till now your phone will be super heated(its moto g4 plus obviously).
Plug in the charger again and repeat step second.
Fourth:
Battery will not charge for few min(may take upto 30min or so).
Then it will start charging slowing.charge upto 5% then stop playing game.
Fifth:
leave the phone aside and do other works.
Sixth:
when phone will charge 90%+ , remove charging and start using phone, it will drain more quickly.
Seventh:
Drop 10-20%. Let the phone cool down (like ice). Then use very less frequently for about an hour.
Eight:
Start charging again. And here you go its again in turbo charging.
//Step are not complicated and are subjected to change according to phone conditions.
Result depends on user and phone set only.//
T&C applied.

i facing same problem in moto g4 plus all things which are possible to solved these problems can be done by me but there is no problem in hardware and even in batteries. i think there is a problem in charging IC of mobile circuit
I have the same problem, tried diferent QC 2.0 and 3.0 chargers and compatible cables and nothing, also replaced the charging port, and the flex of the rear proximity sensor,i saw on a video that and worked but not for me. Charging takes 7-8 hours

send ss of Ampere (app, playstore) while charging with all those chargers
You will need to replace Flash Flex Cable. It controls G4/plus fast charging. It´s relatively easy to replace by yourself.

I don't know what drug Apple put in their chargers, but i've always noticed my iPhone charging waaaay faster than my S2.
I even tried draining them both to 0%, and charging them with their original chargers. As soon as the iPhone was full of juice, the S2 was just about 50 or 60%
So i did some research about the safety of using the Apple charger, and it appeared to be all OK.
I'm going to end up buying a new battery anyways because i feel like mine has worn out, so i thought it was a good idea to plug the S2 in the fruitplug.
After i plugged the USB cable into the Apple charger, i immediately noticed the phone charging way faster. Waaay faster.
The phone does get a little warmer, but not too warm. I charged the phone from 8% to 100% in less than a hour!
I'm still experimenting the safety of this, by constantly keeping a look at the temperatures, and how hot the thing feels, and it appears to stay safe.
I recommend to remove your case and battery cover and keep an eye on your phone if you consider trying this, but for now i can say one thing:
If you have an iDevice in your house, charge your phone with the fruitplug
on the other side... what do you think about it? Would you try it?

According to the information on the charger, it outputs 1A. My samsung charger also outputs 1A, yet it charges faster with the iPhone charger.
I did some quick research and found that the iPhone charger would have a special sort of **** inside of it that charges the phone in a different way. Not sure if bull**** or actually true, but they did put some sort of magic or drug in that thing to make it hypercharge anything i charge in it
They couldn't have put anything inside, it all depends of voltage and amperage.
You can use charger with higher amperage than your device need though.
And, yea, you can use charger with more amps, but you cannot use charger with higher voltage than 5V.
iPad charger gives [email protected], but last time I tried it with a Samsung phone, it wouldn't charge.
Nightshadow931 said:

The higher the amperage, the faster your phone will charge.
You can use charger with higher amperage than your device need, your phone would charge just fine, only faster. But it would cause heating your device, thus reducing the life of your battery.

Maybe the iPad charger has too much drugs or magic inside of it and your Galaxy doesn't have any Space for it?
tablet/smartphone 5V | 2A,Micro USB
I buy charger for tablet/smartphone [email protected] It charges 3x faster.
I check all the chargers i have with current widget, a nice little app tell how much mv your battery have left and how much your charger putting in. I plug in a 600mah charger and i get around 500-550mah input. With a 2a charger i get 641mah consistantly, so i guess that's thr limit of our device
So 650mah, and a 1650mah battery, that means 2 and a half hour for full cycle. And that also means something is happening to that apple juicer

This.
S2's hardware doesn't allow it to charge more than 650mAh from an external charger. So it doesn't matter if you're using 1Ah or 2Ah charger, it will be the same.
Now, that's for the international i9100, who knows if there's something different with other versions or if the phone has a faulty hardware. I've also noticed that my phone recharges much faster right after being quickly discharged. So it could also be that the metering is faulty and there was juice left in the battery.

I got European s2, would that make any difference?
What I know is that the s2 never will charge over 650mA per hour. I use a 700mA charger and incoming at ~640mA on my s2.
Maybe a battery charger will do better than charging through phone?

soo my issue is the fast charging.
first few days it was fast charging everything worked fine after that it stoped fast charging. when i plug it in it dosent show "fast charge connected" insted it shows " usb ".... so i thought something wrong with the cable so i changed it.... so i changed just the cable not the plug works fine. my first thought is that the cable is broken or something,
1. can that be true that the cable is not proper build?
2. does it affect anything that i charge my phone with an older cable?
Just double check under settings, power settings, fast charging is still checked. Once I accidently uncheked it.

no no the fast charging is checked.... like i said with the cable that came with the phone fast charging is not working...... other cables yes everythings normal
That's odd because the cable has nothing to do with it. Maybe your stock cable has been damaged.
I don't know it's confusing to me too. because the first two days it was working great after that It's not fast charging . maybe my cable was bad made!! but fast charging is working with another cable l have from my old s3 !

Yes the cable will affect fast charging. Fast charging only works with cables of certain gauge (thickness). You must have damaged your cable, or it was already damaged before you got it. Don't worry this has no effect on the battery, no degradation.

rapid charging multiple issues
My Note 4 did the same thing: 1st charge worked great, then it started showing connected to the RC, but unable to charge and flashing LED. Sometimes it still charges okay (not rapid) and sometimes really crawls. The "not able to charge" plops up every few minutes. Word was that there was a chord issue with the OEM and that they were fixed, but replacing the ones that were shipped already with a problem. That didn't fix my issue. The new word is that it's a device issue in some cases. For me, it does appear to be the device since I've done a FDR and tested multiple chargers, chords, OEM and carrier options. If you are hooking it up to a computer to charge, you will not get fast charging. It has to be plugged in with the power plug only to get a fast charge.

How long did it take to get a replacement? Had my phone for almost a month now and its very on /off with the charging. When i first got it it showed fast charger connected and got 50% charge as advertised in half an hour. Now it will, if im lucky charge maybe 10% in an hour. Just now, went to bed with 13%. 5hrs later it got to 32%. Havent tried a different cable and plug combo yet.

I've had my Note since December last. It was fast charging just fine for about a month then I noticed it became sporadic, then it went to slow charge after that, then stopped charging altogether.
I changed the cable and it started to fast charge again for about a month and the same thing happened. It just deteriorated over time until it stopped charging.. So this is what I've been doing since. I'm on my third cable now. I've been wondering if the higher voltage etc, that enables the fast charge feature breaks the cable down. Just a thought:confused.
I had the same issue when I just got my note 4 a few months back. It turn out to be the charger that is causing the problem. I went to the service centre (in Singapore), the reception told me it is a common problem with the charger. Had it changed and the problem solved.
fast charge
So my problem was that the first days fast charging was working then I deside to desable the fast charge and now I can't enable I need help
Hello, guys. I hope you all are great.
I have a concern... I don't know wether the issue I am facing is specific for the XT1575 or is a general android problem. Here it is:
I have a Moto X Style and I am facing this problem: slow battery charging. There are 2 symptoms that I noticed:
1. When I turn on the screen after starting charging with the screen off, the cell phone stops charging (using fast charger or ordinary one). To continue charging, I have to unplug and plug again and again.
# I believe the fault is software. But I am not sure about that.
2. About 5 days ago the turbo charger (and common charger) is charging very very very slowly. It is not normal. To charge 1%, it takes about 20 min. I ran the Ampere app and realized that the current during charging is between 230 and 260mA. If I am not mistaken, using the turbo, it should be at 1600 to 1800mA.
I realized that fault after a trip. In it I needed to charge the phone in the USB 5V car charger and did not charge properly (same symptom described above).
What have I already done testing?
- I had a let the battery drain 100%, so that I started to charge. Nothing has changed.
- I had tried charge using the fast charge that came along with the cellphone and ordinary ones. Nothing has changed.
Has anyone had this? Is there any way for me to go and fix it?
The cell phone is awesome, although the battery is your biggest con. Without the turbo charger it gets me some doubts regarding if I can still have it...
I really appreciate your help.
One extra update: I have just factory reseted and everything is still the same as stated previously.
Something says to me that the issue is software. The reason is that I use a pin code to protect my device and after I turn the screen on (after typing the pin), the device stopped charging. So that I had to unplug and plug it once again to continue the charging.
The thing is that after I factory reseted and realized that the issue continued, I tried to suspend the use of pin code.
Result: the second flaw stopped. I mean that after turning the screen on the battery continue to charge normally.
Now the fast charging pretty slowly still...

You most likely have a bad cable or adapter... there is no known software issue with charging on any Moto X device.
Less likely: bad USB port in the phone or bad battery
Even less likely: bad main board in the phone
Find a friend with a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge (just saying because they common) and plug into their stock charger, it should pop-up the turbo charging toast messaging within a couple seconds.
I see... So, I agree with you. Even based on that my Moto x is really new. No more than 1 month...
I will look for another turbo charger and try once again.
Oh, and one more thing, even the cause may not be related to software, I intend to downgrade to 5.1 and try once again. If nothing occurs, I will update to 6.0.1 and move my life on.
Thank you in advance!

It's not software... But I'm no expert either. If it is software you are the first person to discover it. Try a new charger or just connect a buddies to test it.
Unfortunately, I believe that the issue is hardware related.
I charged with another fast charger and problem persists...

Last night I've put my phone to charge until morning, and I've put the phone under a pillow because I have a one person bed and I don't want to hit it with my legs. In the morning, when I took the phone out....
The phone was extremely HOT! And I know where the parts are in this phone, and not the motherboard heatead up so much, the battery! I was so scared because this thing could explode in my hands or could've exploded last night.
Also, when I saw the phone the notification led was blinking blue, but after cooling the phone I couldn't see any notification. Is that a alert or something to say that your phone is hot?
I don't want to have a "note 7" clone when charging in my house.
I have this phone for just 6 months. Also the battery right now drops percent like per minute, really weak.
Does anyone had this problem too?
Here are screenshots:
Also, I am not using original charger because was too slow. I am using an 5V 2A charger. Now my battery stays at "normal" at 40C°
Is that normal?

I have found this in my manual. I will keep my eyes all day on my phone and will see if I will go to the service or not.
But I have bootloader unlocked, the phone was disassembled before, the water indicator is red, so I'm going to have to pay.
It happened to me. One thing I noticed that my phone was in wake lock. It never happened to me again. I think I was using LOS 14 at that time.

I am using persona78's B600 mod. I hope this thing doesn't happen to me again too.

Every phone has heating problems. Few days ago i readed some articles and that stated: consumers should remove the custom cases when charging the phone. Do not keep your phone while charging on surfaces that stores heat (eg. your pillow), and try to not keep your phone on charge overnight. Even if its at 35-45% you should leave it so and wake up 30 min earlier every morning and charge again if you need more battery. 100% charge its not a good idea.
Remember you cant change battery easy, removing the back case its a pain, try to take care of your device, or you gonna buy a new phone soon

Also, I am not using original charger because was too slow. I am using an 5V 2A charger. Now my battery stays at "normal" at 40C°
Is that normal?

Of course not......You are using 2A charger.....It would obviously heat your device up
and yes ......2 A charger won't help with speeding up charging it would burn your IC instead..Your phone won't take in more than 1 Amp thats a factory limit and can't be unlocked without a custom kernel but still it's not safe.. Don't use that charger .....It's a placeboo that it charges faster ?

What the ****, thanks. I will come back to the original charger.
This has really been bothering me.. The phone when plugged in takes HOURS to charge suddenly.. i'm using OEM charger and cable for the device and its only charging at 10-200mA, "Ampere" shows it in USB charger instead of AC charger when plugged into the power brick, If i unplug and plug in multiple times(into the power brick) it detects AC charger but doesn't charge past 200mA... I tried a different cable and brick but its the same issue.. If i unplug and plug in again it detects as AC again but still SLOW charge.. And plugging into a powerbank, It never gains any % just stays at the same HELP....

have you tried cleaning the port out? Could have lint or something. Maybe a different battery?

The port looks new basically, i will try cleaning again to be sure.. And i unfortunately dont have another v20 battery to test, But i tried a g4's battery and it did the same thing So i don't know if its the battery or what.. the battery was completely drained for a bout a week due to a dead LCD had to order a new one.. But that shouldn't make it slow charge should it?..

Not that I'm aware of it shouldn't. Are you using an extension cable perhaps? Maybe it has a short if so.

Nope, Just direct cable into the brick, no extensions.. I cleaned the port again and its fluctuating from 30mA to 1800mA, But the battery is draining while plugged in and the phone is still detecting USB mode..

Sounds like a bad battery imo, the battery terminals in the phone are good right? From looking anyway?

Yes, they look normal, The positive terminal on the phone is pushed in a little further than the others, But it was like that when i got the phone and it just recently started this problem
My note 3 acted up with the battery like that and a new one solved it. Can't guarantee that it is the reason, but most likely.

I would try new battery, factory reset is last option for your situation. I think you literally need s V20 one though.
I agree with Mysticblaze347. If the USB port and the battery contacts are clean, and you already checked different wall chargers and cables, then something's most likely wrong with the battery. You might as well consider getting one of the newer Lithium polymer batteries such as the ones from Perfine, Shenmz/AexPower, Taeozi, or Maxxxjuice. They are the same size as the OEM battery but actually have a higher capacity.

Well, i found a temporary solution.. Threw the battery in the freezer, My old phone needed that sometimes when the battery drained too fast, It unfortunately didn't solve the issue.. BUT I put the entire phone in the freezer ON for about 30 mins and it was fast charging again and getting 1800mA for two days straight.. Today the same issue has happened again.

Hopefully its just the battery.. Would suck if this phone was bad.. Had it for about a year now and its got a lot of data i can't save, The phone doesn't allow any data transfer over USB But it charged fine with that issue

Regarding data transfer, you could use any of the WiFi file transfer / FTP apps (I use Send Anywhere, for example) to copy files to other devices/computers if it comes to that.

Sorry to hear that. Seems like your phone has some hardware issue where the charge doesn't fully flow from the USB port to the battery.

Could it just be the port?.. or do you think it could be something wrong with the board itself?

It's certainly possible. But if cleaning the USB port doesn't solve your problem, then it may not be an easy fix because I heard that the port is soldered onto the board.
