When I use a TW based Marshmallow 6.0.1 port from either N5 N7 or S7E the 4G / LTE signal is rather weak 1-3 bars at most.
Flashing a 6.0.1 CM13 ROM shows 5 bars across the board and a Nougat ROM also works with full signal strength.
I'm using baseband N9005XXUGBPI1 which is from a Luxembourg original ROM and i'm in the Netherlands. The XXUGB region code is the same as the Netherlands so it should be fine.
Anyone have any ideas? I'm lost right now..
EDIT: Thanks to a suggestion from ocujos who suggested i checked the actual dBm and asu values from the modem / SIM info i found out there's little difference to be found..
-91dBm 49 asu on Phronesis N7 port (TW 6.0.1 based)
-95 dBm 45 asu on RRN Nougat 5.8.1 (AOSP 7.1.1 based)
So basically, the worse one has better signal.. But it just shows very different amount of bars.
use ressurection rom 5.8.1 android 7.1 with jairus kernel,i dont have any problem with my wifi neither my mobile data. it work flawlessly,if you want still use tw,use the official tw for stability, some of the custom tw contain it own bug

The only reason i dont use RRN 5.8.1 is because I can't get GPS to work properly like many others as of now. If that worked with Google Maps for navigation i would use that ROM 100%. But it doesn't so..

According to these values, TW is reporting correctly.
You can have a full bars signal when it is between -30 (max) and -50dBm.

Hello,
this question is for french and about your experience with FREE provider with our LG G2. D802
For me :
I come from an HK model, flashed many times with EU stock and customs roms...
When I was with B&You I never had problems H,H+ and 4G everywhere and every time (with some roms I had to activate 4G trough the hidden menu, but it wasn't a problem).
Now since 3 monthes, I'm under FREE and I have...
Bad signal, loosing signal, only 1 time 4G/lte (during 2min) with a battery drain (cause it's looking for the signal)
I tried many roms, but can't find a good one that give me a good reception with FREE.
If someone has fin the right combo ROM / FREE could you tell me wich ROM do you use ?
Thanks
For the moment I use
Pardus HD RoMâ„¢ Sensation Black v3.1
Kernel : Dorimanx 6.9
baseband : M8974A-AAAANAZM-1.0.190084
I'm having problem with 4g signal after flashing CM 13, i did a full clean install.
I didn't have any problem on CM 12. I tried flashing newer modem, but it didn't help much.
When 4G signal drops, it doesn't change to 3g, it stays on with no signal. And i have to manual change to 3G.
I haven't seen other people that are having problem with 4g on CM13.
Maybe i have to try other modems.
Hello, I've tried a lot of cyanogenmod 13 based roms, even cyanogenmod itself, and 4G never worked on any of them.. I'm on g900f, tried changing apn and it didn't work anyway, any help?
No one knows anything? I've tried AOSP roms, and they don't have LTE working for me either..
Make a clean installation of the latest CM13 SNAPSHOT, I used to have the same issue on the late nightlies but the Snapshot fixed it.
I tried that, but as soon as I flashed a custom kernel it stopped working.. Any ideas why?
I'm on latest 6.0.1 original samsung rom update, and lte/4g option is gone, there is just 2g and 3g options... Also gps is buggy when you turn it on, it automatically sets to high accuracy for spying...
I had to return to stock because lte only works during the initial configuration on AOSP Roms.. That's strange. On stock 4G is perfect..
why signal provider indonesia weak when install custom rom based aosp and lineage, while in custom rom zen ui, miui or stock rom, signal stable and full, but in custom rom signal weak and up and down
anything wrong with provider indonesia?
same thing when i install custom rom on another smartphone, if in mido you can update baseband file via twrp, and in asus?
#sorry my bad english
Please help
just yesterday i tried to flash aex rom, and surprisingly the signal is very good!
previously i tried lineage and resurrection remix, both resulted in weak signal.
Hi,
since I'm using my stock A2017G Axon i have several network issues:
I often loose the connection and the signal is not strong as it should be.
I am sure that it is an issue related with the Axon because I tried with other smartphones and the signal was strong and stable.
Now I was able to unlock the bootlooder, flash the TWRP v3.2.1-8 and I'm using the Resurrection Remix (Oreo) custom rom but the problem is still there.
What should I do to solve it? Is there anything I can try to flash?
Additional info: I live in Italy
Thanks

Couple of weeks ago I ran into a similar problem on AEX where signal strength, connection....suddenly became very bad.
I just reflashed one of the G OREO modems and all was fine again.
So i suggest you do that before anything else.
Here are a couple of G Oreo modems you can use.
Based on betaB01 (same as used in AEX, LOS15.1 and O_B12 btw) : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818222786056033085
Based on V3.0.0B01 (china) : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673791459329068510
Hope that helps
