Axon 7 UK RMA - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

Hi, I purchased a Axon 7 a few months ago, and unfortunately it's having a few problems - it seems I'm going to have to RMA it. I've tried contacting ZTE UK, but haven't had a reply. I originally purchased the device from Amazon.de. I've had a look at the ZTE DE website, but I'm unable to read German. Has anyone else here from the UK had to get an RMA? How did you do it? I considered using the send for repair thing on Amazons website, but I'm not sure how that affects the warranty.

Good luck with getting a response from ZTE. They virtually have no customer service

Within the phone itself, in the appdraw there is the ZTE cares ( doesn't really) app. In there it shows the contact phone number, I've spoken to them a few times.
Sometimes you can't beat calling, and yeah ZTEUK are a joke, call them on that number.
Good luck mate.
Mike

Bought on Amazon ? Easiest RMA. Just use the amazon purchase history to send it back to them, they'll handle the RMA free of charge if it's under warranty. You only have to pay one way shipping and they fully support english.
Had an issue with mine back in september, received a new one two weeks later (they had a delay with repair so they offered to wait or get an new one).

Anyone from Europe sent the N1 for repairs?

Hey guys.
I've previously posted here that my N1 has some rebooting issues. It turns out its a hardware issue and i would like to send it for repairs.
I have contacted HTC using the support phone number but it turns out the number is not allocated. After sending 2 emails to them i haven't received any reply.
The phone was bought from the US and shipped to a person in UK which than sent it to me in Romania. I have the bill and everything since the package was never opened.
Has anyone from Europe managed to send it for repairs to US and if yes, how?
Thanks.
You should be able to send the phone to HTC UK instead, bit closer.
I've sent mine there and it was easy, but then I am UK based.
sent mine to uk from sweden. got it back 10days later. swap even though bootloader was unlocked. great service only had to pay shipping 1 way

hey bevan, what was the problem on your nexus?
i just sent mine to the UK because of dust under the left corner.
when i bought it, it was perfect, no clicking sound, no dust. fast forward 2 months, I decided to unlock the bootloader since everything was good.
10 days after that.. clicking sound and lots of dust.
im bricking it waiting for HTC to come back to me now.
I've talked to HTC this morning. They don't want to help. They say i should call an US number which will result in an enormous bill. So that's it. I'm stuck with it. This is my last HTC phone. I'm changing it. I'm very pissed off. Its not the first time HTC's customer service is this bad.
the screen was not flush. sunk in a little on the right handside.
sorry to here that. strange they dont want to help. I wouldn't give up sp easy though. sure you could get this sorted. good luck
Can you not get it back to the person in the UK who shipped it to you? I'm sure they'd have no trouble sorting it.

call the UK number instead.
I had no problem getting mine accepted from Ireland.
I saw a guy on another forum, that got his nexus succesfully repaired even though he lives in Denmark, i dont remember if he got it from the UK or the US, but he called HTC Denmark, they then called HTC UK and they fixed a adress he should send it to in the UK, and they repaired it for him.
So try to contact your local HTC, that might help.

You should be able to send to UK repair or send it to the person that shipped to you and get it repaired. I live in UK & sent mine in for repair( Charging Problem), it got it back 5 days of receipt.
The USA HTC Service department and HTC Europe all pointed me to a phone number in the US. I told them i can't call because of the international call rates and they told me there's nothing they can do. I'm stuck.
They told me to ask a friend in the States to call for me. I don't have such a friend. Oh well, the phone is usable for now, but its sucks when it reboots when you need it the most.

I tried contacting my local HTC Office/Service and the number does not exist.
On htc's support page the number for Romania is incorrect. I got so pissed off when i noticed that. But i cooled down by now.

HTC warrenty. Should I do it?

Hey!
The camera on my Nexus One has stopped working, and its clearly a hardware error.
The thing is; I live in Norway. I bought this phone in the states, since its not available in Norway.
So I contacted the HTC support in Norway, and they transfeered me to HTC UK. After talking to the guy, I will recieve an adress, where I have to send the phone, at my expense. Once they recieve it, they will send me a bill for the return cost. After that is payed, they will fix and send back my phone.
Is it worth it? How do I know that they will cover it from the warrenty, and how long will this take?
Any input, is appreciated
EDIT: The HBOOT thing is unlocked.
Is it worth it depends in the cost of the shipping. They tell you shortly after they receive it whether it's covered or not, they're pretty quick.
Shipping the phone to them is about 30 GBP. and the HBOOT is unlocked :/

Sorry to hijack the thread but do they charge out the arse for having parts fixed? I'm weighing up fixing my power button myself or sending it to them. (Previously opened so I doubt i'll get it fixed under warranty).
unlocked or not.. i had my nexus one power button broken. sent it to them unlocked and rooted and they sent me replacement. I had no problems from htc at all. the only thing i had to pay for was the camera, it was cracked by me, they charged me $60.00 us.
I think I will send it in. Worst case, I will lose £60, and get the phone back with a non working camera. (Ofcourse, that is if it doesnt get lost in the mail)
Should I go back to stock room, or do anything else before i send it in? And should I use the original box the phone came with?
My N1 had random restart/overheating issues and I sent it in with clockworkmod clearly installed, though I did install stock + factory reset before I sent it. I had no issues with the process and didn't have to pay a dime.
whether it's worthwhile is up to you, at worst they will charge you 200 USD to replace the main board but I doubt that will happen.
They were very reasonable when I cracked my screen. $55 including shipping is all it cost me.
Just called HTC again, because they got the wrong contact information on me. This time they told me that they will pick up the phone from my home, instead of me paying for the shipment. Very impressed so far

In my case: I send the phone to UK on 18.November - they received it on 22.Nov, and until now its not returned! (but they told me that a wrong ticket on their side was the problem)... ;-)

My Phone was also unlocked...
I live in Sweden, my speaker was loos. I mailed HTC and got the ticket, paid for a recommended "bubble" envelope at the post office. Costed me 130 SEK(10 USD). Putted the phone without the battery, sim-card,SD-card and back case and the ticket around it. 10 days later i`ve got the phone back. New speaker and they even changed the receiver on it.
The phone was used when i`ve bought it so i got it without a recit and i`v got a Cyanogenmod on the phone. HTC putted the original rom back and locked it.
No questions asked.
HTC 4life!
I also had a good experience with HTC UK. My N1's power button stopped working and I had to sent it to UK because I bought it from USA instead of waiting for N1 launch in Spain with Vodafone.
It took 2 weeks: 3 days travelling to UK, 4 working days in HTC Repairing Center and 4 days travelling back to Spain (there were huge snows on it's way, it should have been faster because they sent it back with UPS -probably 2 days-).
Good luck,
PS: Don't send it in the original box, you might don't see it again!

If you bought it from a private seller on eBay, returning it to Asus for repairs is likely your only option. If you bought it from an eBay storefront, you may have additional options.
From which source did you get it?

I didn't see any sort of returns policy listed there (and Google's translation was not perfect, of course). If you received a product which you believe to be defective, I would recommend contacting eBay directly and telling them about your attempts to return the product to the vendor. See whether eBay is willing to intervene. If not, it may be that your only recourse is to send it to Asus for repairs.
Good luck.
First thing to do is to check the auction listing again. See if the seller accepts return and if you're still qualified for it.
If he does and you still are, just tell him so. If he doesn't allow it even though he clearly says he does, file a complaint through Paypal and they'll take care of it.
If he doesn't accept returns, then you'll have to go through Asus for a replacement.
I doubt you can return it to asus, since the warranty is only for the original owner. Asus should ask you for proof of purchase from a retailer, ebay isn't a retailer.
you'll have to file a claim with paypal/ebay telling them its defective
It happened to my mate with a Asus laptop,
Asus actually are alright with warranty,
If you can't provide the reciept then there will go with the manufacturing date,
Which means you should be fine as the TF haven't been out for a year,
Go to the Asus website,
Register the TF,
Then submit the repair form...
http://whatconsumer.co.uk/returning-damaged-or-faulty-goods/
This link may be of use if:
1. The seller is a UK based business.
2. You bought the item new via buy it now rather than an auction.
In this case you'd be protected under distance selling regs.
Regards,
Dave

Actually, from the link provided by the OP, it looks like he purchased it from a retailer using an eBay storefront. In that case, a copy of the purchase receipt or invoice is sufficient proof of purchase.
Thanks all of you for the help...
I`ve just sent an e-mail to the ASUS Online Technical Service about the problems of my transy and wait.

My LG G4 bootlooped and LG fixed it even though I had bootloader unlocked

Hi guys,
Just wanted to post this out to help other people who may have experienced their LG G4 bootlooping. My device bootlooped last weekend. I had purchased it from a mobile recycling website, it was refurbished, it had 505 serial number, I also had the bootloader unlocked and was running Cyanogenmod 14.1.
I contacted LG as I thought I had nothing to loose, they asked me for proof of purchase and they repaired my device within a week and send replaced the motherboard and now the serial number is 611. No questions asked about bootloader or custom rom.
I reported it on the Monday, they picked it up on Tuesday, they dispatched it on the Friday and I received it today (Monday). I was very impressed with the turn around, so if there is anybody in the same situation, try sending it to LG and you never know your luck!
I am based in the UK and I arranged everything with LG over live chat.

guys pls upload somwhere service papers
Only clean imei. thanks.
really? Are they repairing unlocked devices? Sounds awesome!
I just got my phone back today i can concur. But when i got it back, the bootloader was locked again. so i've been trying to remember how i rooted it last time.
Well, if they're replacing the motherboard I'm guessing you don't get any of your original data back off it. New motherboard = new ROM chip with fresh, stock data, including bootloader.

They are legally obliged to, regardless of bootloader status.
Every device/electrical good sold in the EU has a 2 year manufacturer warranty as standard (regardless of what retailers tell you). If you can prove the device was faulty at the point of sale, in this case that's easy as LG have admitted a manufacturing defect, it doesn't matter what software modifications you've made, it's on LG to fix it.

LG asked me for the IMEI/Serial number. I provided this and they accepted the repair. To be honest with you I have no idea whether it was under warranty as the device was refurbished.
No cost, totally free and turned around very quickly

The UK doesn't fall in to that ruling I'm afraid - we're covered better by the Sale of Goods Act.

Here in the UK I got this response after sending in my proof of purchase:
"Having looked at the supplied proof of purchase, the item listing and the individual seller, the unit is out of the box when sold as such appears to have been resold to yourself. As such, our manufacturer’s warranty does not extend to cover second hand, refurbished or re-conditioned handsets, therefore we will be unable to book this in for a repair."

I even forgot my proof of purchase but by the time I told them, they already sent it back to me working
In sweden , just last year they would claim, their units would not be affected and my claims was baseless. As if we would not have EU based units and 505 would just be a coincidence... ****ers...

Leeco le pro 3(x722) touchscren problem

Hi everyone, yesterday my new leeco le pro 3(x722) is arrived, but it have a problem with the touchscreen, when i press the screen the cell phone take over 2 fingerprint, also if i use 1 finger!
To make you understand better I put the video on youtube:
youtube.com/watch?v=AD-S2nNChq4
In your opinion, what could be the problem? Should I be sent back?
In your opinion, what could be the problem? Should I be sent back? :crying:
Looks like a hardware issue if the phone is brand new and you're on the stock ROM (no unlocked bootloader, root). Send this video to the seller and ask them to send you a replacement or a refund. If you paid with PayPal (I hope you did), open a dispute through PayPal if the seller refuses to do anything. I hope you took a video of your unboxing that shows this issue off. Always always always get your unboxings and first time use on video for warranty evidence. Especially with Chinese phones you're importing from far away.
Problem solved.
Problem solved, I contacted the assistance of the site where I bought the mobile, Monday I will go to ask in a shop how much will cost the riparation, which will obviously be paid from the Chinese site where I bought the mobile!
Thanks for the answer!
