Data recovery with broken screen without USB-Debugging - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, my OnePlus 2's screen recently broke (both the touchscreen and LCD-screen are inoperable). I already upgraded to another phone, but want to retrieve the data (music recordings, photo's, documents) from my OnePlus 2.
I once had USB-debugging enabled, but I'm afraid I may have once turned it off again (I suspect this, because ADB doesn't recognize the phone when it's turned on). I am however, able to 'unlock' the phone, by using the fingerprint scanner, which still recognizes my fingerprint, but when I do so, my PC still doesn't show any data of the phone (it does say it's connected).
Is there a way to retrieve any data from it? Any apps I could install (via the Google Play website) and use, without using the touchscreen?
Thanks in advance,
TeeBoner

Tethering overrides flash memory?

I've never had the need to use WMWifiRouter as a 3G to USB connection, but my modem at home is dead and won't be replaced until Tuesday. 3 days is quite a ways to go without Internet! So, I used WMWifiRouter 1.51 to enable the 3G to USB connection for my desktop PC.
After I was done with the 'net, I turned off WMWifiRouter and unplugged my phone. I then realized I needed to upload a few things on my phone, so I plug it back in to use it as a storage device. Problem is, my computer immediately detects my phone as a tether rather than the storage device. I've enabled the option so my phone asks me what type of connection it wants to create, but my computer keeps forcing the tether instead.
I know it's the way my computer is seeing my Touch Pro 2, but I was hoping somebody else may have run into the same issue before and found a resolution.
Thanks in advance!
I just used WM last night as a test, and then finally sync'd up my outlook 2000 contacts and calendar today.
Are you absolutely sure that WM has stopped running? I know on my diamond, the task manager option would NOT show some running apps after it was running without a soft reboot for like 2 months.
I haven't tried a "storage connect" yet though, I don't think I've ever used that.
I am absolutely positive it has stopped running completely. I used the built-in task manager with SKTools to verify. Even after a soft reset on my phone, my computer still does it.
Like I said, I know it's just the way my computer is now detecting my phone, but I was hoping somebody here had the same problem in the past.
I find it a little funny... I used my phone as a temporary solution to not having internet at home and now it only leads to more problems
Try uninstalling the drivers that your computer installed for the TP2, it would be in the Control Panel->Device Manager . Honestly i have no clue which one they would be but by doing this your computer will have to reinstall the USB drivers for your phone and re-recognize your phone.
Tried it. My computer installed it as a modem, but uninstalling the drivers didn't help. My comptuer would still detect it every time and reinstall the modem drivers.
Hard resetting my phone fixed this. It's the worst solution, yes, but it still worked. Fortunately, it only takes about 20 minutes to get everything back in order once more.
Thanks for the help anyways.
UPDATE: Ran into the same problem again last night. Fortunately, I found a better solution.
I made the USB to PC connection automatically connect to ActiveSync and disabled "Enable faster data synchonization." Disconnected and reconnected my phone and I was able to use the Disk Drive option once more without having my PC automatically see it as a Windows Mobile Modem

Screen not working - How to download data

My wife's Touch (on Win 6.1) screen is not working; it seems that both digitizer and screen have gone bad.
We have received replacement phone but I need to download data from her broken phone (such as pics/contacts/footprints) before we swap replacement phone with broken phone and ship broken phone back.
Phone is not visible on ActiveSync (I think Phone as Disk Drive option was checked previously), so I can not connect the phone to PC.
Any other suggestions to download data from phone's memory to PC?
My Mobile

Shows on your PC a window that is what's on your phone.
and you can control the phone from the pc
Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was looking for as far as controlling Touch from PC is concerned.
NFSFAN's ROMs have three connection USB options:
ActiveSync
Disk Drive
Internet Sharing
But yet, whenever I connect Touch to PC, by default it goes to Disk Drive mode without going through ActiveSync setting.
Or, is there any way to force ActiveSync setting remotely?

[Q] Accessing phone via ADB shell with broken touchscreen (can't authenticate)

So, the touchscreen on my Nexus 4 broke this weekend. I have a new device coming in, but in the meantime I need to be able to access the device to use a few different apps and send/receive some SMS messages from it.
I found a guide on reddit (Apparently I'm not allowed to post links, but it'll be the first result if you google "How I managed to use my Android device with a broken touch screen")
It's not exactly simple, but it should work.
Unfortunately, I discovered that in order to use ADB shell commands, a pop-up window should appear on the phone to allow/disallow USB debugging. (USB debugging is enabled already, but there appears to be an additional 'authentication' step)
Unfortunately, I can't use the phone's touchscreen, so I can't unlock it or tap the notification that will allow me to authenticate the phone.
Is there a way I can get around that authentication step?
The device is unlocked and rooted.

An app - tomtom

I wanted get rid of it's data transfer.
Despite fact that I switched off it's internal transfer setup and my droidwall lock is preventing communication of this type - it still gets data flow as crazy, 30Mb transferred during 3 hours according to BBS.
Q is - HOW ?
What layer allows it when data transfer is off ?
Telephathy ?
I even switched off data transfer completely. No impact ... Still data transfer digits go up...
I used to have TomTom nav on my phone and I just created a script that automatically put the phone in airplane mode when I ran TomTom. Never experienced anything like you described.

I need HELP, Samsung, Adb and a broken screen

Hello,
I'm trying to reach out here because I've been looking this up for the longest time and can't seem to find a solution ,
I have a Samsung galaxy S7 edge G935F, about a week ago the phone fell from 3rd floor and the screen is broken, it's still working and I see that the screen is still responsive but when I try to put in the pattern lock for some reason it doesn't work,
It was working just fine for the past couple of days but what I forgot is that I had the automatic reboot option enabled,
two days ago the phone reboots and I can't use my fingerprint, because after the reboot you need to enter the pattern before being able to use the fingerprint option,
my question is, can I get access to my phone still? I did recover some photos and videos but I wanna use the phone on pc using an app like Vysor,
I tried ADB but it doesn't recognize the phone when I do 'adb devices', even tho when I connect it on pc it shows up but it's empty when I open it, normally it would show the files and everything if I unlock it,
I wanna know if there's any way to install the app so I can control it on pc, I tried the official samsung sidesync app but again it needs to be on the phone too to work, can you please assist me in this, it's very important for me and I need some contacts ASAP
thank you :c

If you did not have USB debugging enabled in developer options, adb isn't going to work, you have to get it enabled first.
The fact that you can connect and see the storage doesn't mean anything, that only requires USB MTP connection, not adb functionality. They are two different kinds of connections requiring different drivers.
If you can get USB debugging enabled, then you have more than one option to get connected to recover your data and probably even remove the pattern/fingerprint.
