I haven't updated to Nougat yet mainly because of Xposed. I'm an avid music listener, and love the feature of GravityBox that when the screen is off, long pressing volume buttons changes songs.
I know some custom roms offer this but I don't want to sacrifice speaker quality in exchange for this.
Anybody know of a way to make this happen on stock Nougat?
I use only Poweramp and Spotify for music

I am in your situation...I used PBMC Xposed module for that but now that I don't have Xposed I don't know how to skip songs without having to turn on the screen.
I don't understand why not all roms implement this feature...

I want to wake up to some music that's on my Pocket PC. Is there a program that allows me to change sounds in a way so that I can wake up to it?

You can use MortPlayer for this. In case you haven't heard about it yet, it's probably one of the best audio players currently availible (in stable non-beta version).
It has an option to wake you up by starting playback of your playlist, a custom sound, or by first playing a custom sound (like a ring) and then the playlist. It also has nice snooze option with customizable snooze time, activated by a big onscreen button (not trough small menus like in standard WM alarm). Also, there's no limit on number of times you use snooze.
Grab it here:
http://www.sto-helit.de/index.php?module=download&entry=mp_program&action=list
Also, get a skin that supports the alarm function and has nice big buttons for snooze and disabling alarm, like DarkGlass or CleanGlass (get them here: http://www.sto-helit.de/downloads/pocketpc/mp-skins/)
As a bonus, you'll also have an option for playing music when going to sleep (for a customizable time)
Thank you so much.
I feel that the sound on keypress is pretty beneficial especially for me, who has a keen hearing. I don't think it affects my typing negatively, because the sound seems to be a very small process to make the phone less responsive.
I'm just having problems with the volume. It seems to be too loud sometimes. There are times when the volume is just right. I don't know if it's just me or the noise around me, but it seems to adjust without me knowing it. Either way, I want to know how to adjust the volume.
Any idea?
Adjust the media volume in settings.

Cool. Thanks.
Is there any tool that would adjust the keypress sound volume exclusively? It's nice to put it on a consistent volume so it doesn't change whenever I want my media's volume to be adjusted
i also suggest downloading the widget "audiomanager widget" from the market... it saves all the time of navigating to the settings.

to add to that, or volumer+.
One of the things I loved about my S3 when it was rooted was being able to change tracks with the volume keys when the screen was off. Is there a music app that gives this functionality to the S5? Or possibly a setting somewhere I missed? It's a little thing but comes in handy.
Hi there! I'm new to this phone, coming recently from an old Galaxy S3. So far I'm loving this version of android over the bloat that Samsung had me with before. One thing I do really miss though, is the separate lines for volume. On the S3 if I adjusted the volume it let me manually adjust it for media/ringtone etc. This one only has one slider.
If I have my phone set to vibrate with the ringer off but then open a video or a game, it jumps to whatever volume I last used in a video or a game. Anyone know a workaround for this? I didn't see anything hiding in the settings regarding this.
hi guys like the titles says i cant seem to find a way to skip a track forward or backward with the screen locked. i know there is options for this in various apps, ive tried them. (poweramp, rocketplayer) i have even tried downloading third party apps claiming to be able to do just this but none of them work. Its almost as if once the phone is locked none of these apps can override the stock default volume up or down.
Phone is rooted with twrp installed, and busybox if that helps.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
EDIT: Tested this on both wired (earbuds) and bluetooth (car headunit) no go either way.
You can only skip songs by dubble tap the play/pause button, sadly backwards is not possible.
actually you can set that in the app either to one press, two press or long press all of which do not work.
So we've given up here? The S7 lacks this essential feature entirely?
