Hi there! I'm new to this phone, coming recently from an old Galaxy S3. So far I'm loving this version of android over the bloat that Samsung had me with before. One thing I do really miss though, is the separate lines for volume. On the S3 if I adjusted the volume it let me manually adjust it for media/ringtone etc. This one only has one slider.
If I have my phone set to vibrate with the ringer off but then open a video or a game, it jumps to whatever volume I last used in a video or a game. Anyone know a workaround for this? I didn't see anything hiding in the settings regarding this.

Hi Guys
Another basic question here. I can see how I can set the phone to ring, how to set it to vibrate, and how to make it be totally silent. My question is, can you make the phone ring AND vibrate for an incoming call? When I select ring in the control panel, it makes the vibrate option vanish. Please tell me this is possible!
Regards,
Andrew
In Settings/Personal/Sounds & Notifications you hit the notifications tab at the bottom.
Under 'Event', choose "Phone: Incoming call"
Under 'Type', choose "Vibrate and ring" or "Vibrate then ring"
You can also do all this in Settings/Personal/Phone.. first tab..
I reccomend exploring your phone before asking something like this. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but you could have found this extreamly easily just by looking at all the options you can choose from in the settings window/list.
Thank you very much v1rone. Don't worry, no offense taken.
I have been looking for this feature for a while now and didn't post as a first resort. This phone is just so different from my last one (SE P990) that it's taking me a while to get to grips with it. I had seen that screen before, but for some reason, I didn't notice that middle drop down and saw vibrate as a tick box for all the other things in the top drop down so I assumed it wasn't possible for phone calls.
Anyway, it's all sorted now, thank you very much for your guidance.
BTW, when clicking on the "notifications" tab at the bottom, it takes ages for the tab to come up. This has only been since I upgraded to the new R2 firmware. On the older R1 firmware, it still took a while, but not nearly as long as it does now. Just thought I'd mention it.
Yeah, mine does the same thing when trying to get into that tab. Not sure what the deal is there.
I haven't flashed any of the new R2 roms yet. It's possible that the R2 versions have more files in the windows folder, causing this application to take longer when seeking out all the settings it needs to display it's window. Not sure..
I have absolutely zero evidence to backup this statement seeing that I haven't peeked into the updated rom files yet, but who knows
Sounds plausible
on another note, any way to make the X1i ring and vibrate in a sane manner . . . the vibration is sort of insane lol
anyone know of any app/program to control this?
thanks

Hello all,
When i change the profile to silent or vibrator, and that i use the phone, it always come back to normal with the speaker on. I can't find any manipulation doing this. It looks like doing this randomly.
Have you experimented this bug ?
Thanks.
happens to me as well, probably because I hit the volume bar by accident.. set it to two seperate sliders in settings and use this tweak to set the system volume as default page to come up first..
might help..
it could also be that you have set profiles to match appointments (silent while in a meeting automaticly..) but I think it's the above..
I also have experience of pressing the volume bar by accident. It's far easier than I thought possible.
I am sure i didn't push the volume buttons by accident. It just comes back by browsing the phone (functions like internet, mail, SMS etc.).
I'll do more tests and let you know.
Thanks.
One of the things I loved about my S3 when it was rooted was being able to change tracks with the volume keys when the screen was off. Is there a music app that gives this functionality to the S5? Or possibly a setting somewhere I missed? It's a little thing but comes in handy.
First of all, if any of this has been asked and answered in other threads, I apologize. I did look! But there are a ton of threads to go through. I even did a search.
So, I had a Gear S2 sport, and I wanted to upgrade and get something that looks nicer (Gear S2 even with band adapters doesn't looks so good), so I thought I'd try out AW and so I got a Huawei Watch 2 Classic. So far, whoa, this is a whole new beast! I guess I didn't think that two different smart watch OS's would be so different!
Anyway, some things I REALLY miss about Tizen wear:
The ability to scroll left or right to get to menus/widgets/etc. (this only brings up watchface selection for me. Can't seem to find a way to change it, seems like a HUGE waste of possible functions!).
Adding widgets (not watchface widgets, actual screens you can scroll to, like swipe to the right to see for example). This I really miss. I could scroll right and glance at the weather, calendar, control my phones music player, etc. It was SO helpful and functional. Not having this also seems like a HUGE waste of possible functionality.
Sooo, is there any way to do any of this? I see there are launchers for AW, but I haven't found anything yet that quite does this. Some DO allow swiping left or right to pull up menus and such, which is a great start, but no widgets.
Also, is there any way to adjust the screen timeout? I cannot find anything... If I have the always-on active and I wake the watch, it times out and goes back to ambient mode in 5 seconds. With always-on disabled, it turns off after 10 seconds. It would be nice to be able to set this for longer. This is particularly annoying.
Anyway, thanks for any help! I want to give this a try and will give the new watch a few days at least, but to be honest, I'm already thinking about exchanging it for a Gear S3. So, let me know what I can do to remedy this please!
Absolutely love this phone, however just a few nitpicky things I have questions about since coming from my Note 5.
1) Note 5 had a clear cached data option or clear app cache... is there a way to do that on here?
2) Is there a way to set the volume down button to go to mute, the lowest option it seems to go to is vibrate?
3) Volume overall is pretty loud even on the lowest setting, for example, with the alarm even at the lowest volume setting is still is extremely loud. Is there a way to get the volume even lower in general, maybe an app or some sort of extra config?
4) In the phone contacts, I used to be able to set it so that only certain groups from my Google contacts shows. Now its only able to show all my Google contacts and not specific groups.
5) Super nitpicky but you can no longer set the AOD clock to be two different colors? Like blue for the hour and white for the minutes.
6) This one is just kind of a minor wishlist item I guess, but would be great if there was a way for the AOD to just auto rotate instead of having to pick portrait or landscape every time.
Ok that is all, if anyone has any insight into those things that would be great! Holy hell though....almost 2 days of battery life!!
