Since Nougat Mobile Hotspot is blocked using SM-G935A - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

Since Nougat Mobile Hotspot is blocked using SM-G935A, with Straight Talk as the carrier.
I called them and they said they do not allow Hotspot use, so I'll get no help from them.
I had no problems with Marshmellow, so it's not on the SIM itself.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Nougat checks the carrier's servers to verify if tethering is on your plan.

Flash your phone with T-Mobile nougat and Wala....Working hot spot.

Can't WiFi tether on AT&T plan that allows it..

I am using my SIM from an iphone, and my stock device won't let me enable WiFi hotspot, telling me it needs to be enabled on my plan. The tethering worked fine on the iphone and the 3GB Mobile Share plan I am on says that it is permitted.
Do other people have this working? Is this because they don't have my proper IMEI attached to the SIM? Does AT&T have these IMEI numbers in their database or will I lose LTE if I update my IMEI?

Verizon s7 edge running g935u firmware hotspot??? On Metropcs/Tmobile

I have flashed the g935u firmware on my g935v device. I had root and flashed the wifi and verizon visual voice mail. I lost volte and wifi calling after since im not using verizon. I use Metropcs which is t-mobile , I need to use my hotspot as I dont have internet at my house and I pay for unlimited internet on my phone. I have unrooted and now am using the stock rom g935u. There was a ton of lag on the rom and freezing from time to time as well as overheating at one point. I bought fox-fi and wifi tether router already which have worked on my previous devices.(wifi tether router: tmobile note 3,tmobile s6 edge +,fox fi verizon note edge). I need help in obtaining unlimited hotspot via wifi on this device. I have pda net working good via usb tethering, I'm actually using it right now. I also dont have cable as I used netflix with a chromecast to watch movies(besides the over the air channels) I need some help please and thank you:good:
Well I finally found a solution. It does involve connecting the phone to a computer via usb and running pda.net( paid version) with WiFi sharing. I can now watch unlimited Netflix via chromecast with no vpn. Completely stock g935u rom on a g935v device BTW. All this without rooting the device and having the issues that comes along with root at the moment. Works great! Wooohooo!

Mobile Hotspot on US Unlocked (SGH-G950U)

Hey everyone!
I am about to purchase a Samsung Galaxy S8 (Unlocked-US G950U), and was wondering if the mobile hotspot feature works even if the carrier does not authorize it to (as they must if you're on a carrier's phone & unrooted). I am on the AT&T New Unlimited Plan and they don't technically allow tethering. I am wondering if this phone will block the feature as it would if it was a carrier's phone (as if was purchased through AT&T). I assume it should work without authorization as it's an unlocked phone, however I want confirmation. I contacted Samsung and they didn't want to give me a straight answer.
Thanks!

T-Mobile wifi calling possible on unlocked S7 Edge (SM-G935U)?

I have an unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935U). My carrier is Total Wireless (Verizon MVNO). I recently got a new office at work, and the Verizon coverage in this part of the building is terrible. I use wifi for data but cellular calling basically doesn't work at all.
I've been looking at other networks, and I'm leaning toward T-Mobile or MetroPCS, one of the reasons being they have wifi calling and the wifi at my office is plenty fast. I checked in settings to see the wifi calling option, but when I go to settings > connections > more connection settings, which is where the wifi calling setting is supposed to be, there's nothing about wifi calling.
I had a thought that maybe the wifi calling option isn't there because my current carrier doesn't support wifi calling, so I contacted Samsung support. I asked if I get a SIM from a carrier that supports wifi calling, would the wifi calling option be enabled. They said that unlocked phones don't support wifi calling at all.
This confuses me, because this thread mentions some people were able to use T-Mobile wifi calling on an unlocked S7/S7Edge. But that thread is older, so maybe for some reason wifi calling was removed from the unlocked S7 Edge with the Nougat update?
I suppose the only way to find out for sure is to get a T-Mobile or MetroPCS SIM and see what happens. But is anyone able to shed some light on if this is even worth trying? I suppose it's also worth trying out just to see if regular cellular calling on T-Mobile might be fine at my new desk, but hopefully there's some way to do wifi calling.
Unfortunately I think you need the sm-g935f to get t mobile wifi calling. Don't think it was ever achieved on the U models
I had an s7 edge from T-Mobile (SM-G935T) but I flashed the unlocked firmware essentially making it a SM-G935U and I had VoLTE and Wifi calling working with no issues. It was about a month ago, so it was on Nougat. I would expect no issues with an actual SM-G935U on T-Mobile.
Well, I answered my own question. I switched over to the T-Mobile 10 GB $50/month prepaid plan and when I changed SIMs the phone gave me a "reconfiguring your device for new SIM card" message. Wifi calling is now active.
Also, this is a list of phones that support T-Mobile wifi calling. I probably should've checked here first.

SM-935U doesn't work woht Verizom mvno

I have a SM-935 U device and have been using on the AT&T network. I recently switched to Verizon MVNO (US Mobile). The phone doesn't get registered on the Verizon network. I bought the unlocked S7 edge from best buy thinking that it will work on all carriers. Any help will be appreciated.
The SM-935U do work on all carriers. I have a SM-935V with U firmware on it. I'm with a Verizon MVNO named Total Wireless. Sounds like the phone you go from Best Buy is stilled registered under AT&T...
Not getting registered to Verizon network
When I check the IMEI of my phone against the Verizon compatibility check using their web site, it is fully compatible. The issue is that phone is not getting registered to the Verizon network. I think Verizon is blocking it some how and the MVNO is not able to help me to resolve this.
You ever figure out a solution out to this?

The LTE should work fine, but youll have to set the APN correctly, otherwise it wont get any data, for the CDMA portion youll have to submit the ESN to Verizon to add your ESN IMEI to their database.
