I have a SM-935 U device and have been using on the AT&T network. I recently switched to Verizon MVNO (US Mobile). The phone doesn't get registered on the Verizon network. I bought the unlocked S7 edge from best buy thinking that it will work on all carriers. Any help will be appreciated.
The SM-935U do work on all carriers. I have a SM-935V with U firmware on it. I'm with a Verizon MVNO named Total Wireless. Sounds like the phone you go from Best Buy is stilled registered under AT&T...
Not getting registered to Verizon network
When I check the IMEI of my phone against the Verizon compatibility check using their web site, it is fully compatible. The issue is that phone is not getting registered to the Verizon network. I think Verizon is blocking it some how and the MVNO is not able to help me to resolve this.
You ever figure out a solution out to this?

The LTE should work fine, but youll have to set the APN correctly, otherwise it wont get any data, for the CDMA portion youll have to submit the ESN to Verizon to add your ESN IMEI to their database.

I got my SM-G900P phone Internationally and Domestically unlocked, and while I can get voice to work on a T-mobile sim, I am unable to get data to work.
I'm currently on the stock Sprint 5.0 rom, I have also rooted the device.
I have also added the T-mobile APN, and have the network set to T-mobile, but still no luck
I'm not sure what I should do to get the mobile data to work.
Wondering if I flash a T-mobile rom, would that brick the phone? And would that unlock the bands?
Any and all help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Thank you
bump for some help
I know Sprint operates on CDMA while T-Mobile uses GSM technology.
I don't know if the G900P has the hardware capabilities to operate on GSM LTE bands. But it is interesting that you got the voice to work!
Try this page. He had a Verizon (CDMA) phone and got it to work on the AT&T (GSM) network. So apparently it is possible, and your situation is similar in trying to use a cdma phone on a gsm network.

Thanks for the link!
I already had tried what he did previously, adding the APN, sadly that didn't work for me . And once I had unlocked the phone I enabled GSF and got the voice to work. But sadly that's the farthest I've gotten

Have you tried contacting the website you used for unlock and asking for support? Perhaps this is a common issue that they know how to resolve easily.
Heres the issue. Sprint is a CDMA network, Family Mobile is Powered by T-Mobile, a GSM network. The odds of a sprint device working with any other carrier that isn't CDMA is next to none. I work at T-Mobile and we run across this issue frequently, sprint devices aren't compatible with our networks because of sprints difference in network hardware.

Ive unlocked the phone and it has a CDMA or a global GSM option so i doubt thats the issue. However it seems my actualy issue was that the person who sold me the phone only reported it stolen or missing once i bought it from him.

Take the device to a sprint store and have them run the IMEI, they can tell you. Having it unlocked doesnt mean its GSM if the hardware doesnt support GSM. I have that issue with sprint phones all the time.

The ls997 is gsm compatible, the only thing it wont do is Voice LTE, this will only work on sprint. Most sprint phones use sim cards now days, so the majority of sprint phone can be unlocked to be used on a gsm carrier.

Then you need to manually setup the APN settings for the data.

Spring LG v20 - Unlock does not work. (even Sprint said it is unlocked).
I am still dealing with Sprint now but i don't think they know what needs to be done.
MY device LG v20 (LS997) did received unlocked code.
I did update PRL, Profile, and UICC unlock button in System update .. and it did all without any error.
However when I insert NON-Sprint SIM CARD, the device can't recognize the SIM CARD.
Also I tried to add APN but the device can't save it. (even I clicked SAVE, the new APN does not show up as an option to select).
I am stuck here so badly now. i have 3 LG v20 and plan to move somewhere but I'd like to use them. arghh.
I fought back with Sprint and got MSL code but.. not sure what I can do with it.
There are so many other people in the sprint community forum who are having the same issue as me).
any help/options are appreciated.
thank you.

Have you tried switching it from factory mode to test ? In the hidde menu, i dont remember were it is, but there is an apk that installs the hidden menu witch will allow you to switch between gsm and cdma mode. And i dont believe you need to sim unlock the v20, i dint have too.
Moto G+ XT-1687 - Net10 activated the new SIM (AT&T compatible) and phone. Data works fine, LTE. Cannot make or receive phone call. Net10 failed to troubleshoot.
Phone call error message - The number you are trying to call is not allowed from this line every number I dialed. #21# showing -Connection problem or invalid MMI code. Done factory reset several times no luck.

Sorry to say it, but this most likely a Net10 issue. If they won't fix it there is nothing you can do. There is an off chance that it is a bad SIM, but Net10 will just make you get a new one (with a NEW payment) anyway so...
Seriously, dump that garbage and go to AT&T Prepaid which used to be called Go Phone, or Cricket, if you have to be on AT&T's network (I get it, I'm in the same boat)... It will work.

My current SIM from Net 10 is too big for this phone. Had to buy a new SIM. AT&T pre-paid is more expensive than Net10 for similar service.
Interestingly Amazon site says XT-1687 is fully AT&T compatible!! Really would appreciate if someone would can confirm this. Need GSM for occasional International use.

I can confirm it... I have had several SIMs in my XT1687, it supports all AT&T bands... I have had AT&T PrePaid (my current service), Cricket, and H2O wireless, all in AT&T "service". I have also had a Verizon and Boost Mobile SIM (T-Mobile) in mine for testing and they all work fine.
In previous phones I actually used Net10, but after struggling for months with MMS service, I dropped it and moved away from all TracFone service and haven't seen a problem since. A few bucks more a month are well worth it in my opinion.

Thanks for the confirmation. In the meantime also asked NewEgg to confirm, perhaps the phone has a problem or the SIM is the problem. Newegg may end up sending a replacement I will hear in about 3 days. I have been with Net10 since 2013, BYOP AT&T Samsung Galaxy S2 no problems. Then again I am not a power user.
Now that I think of it - I had put the new SIM in the Galaxy S2 to experiment - same problem no phone service but data worked fine on 3G HSPA. Makes me think SIM is the problem, or Net10 did something when moving my service.
Hi I was wondering if anyone had tried to activate a T-Mobile S4 variant on Sprint networks . I read where one will need a valid ESn Number . I realize that Sprint uses different bands for their voice text and LTE data then T-Mobile does . Would I need to install a Sprint variant S4 rom to solve this issue with the cellular modem radio . Any help appreciated
Late reply here. You have issues that will make it very difficult for you to accomplish what you're trying to do.
1. You can't install a Sprint ROM on a T-Mobile device. Odin will check to determine whether the ROM is correct for the device, and if it isn't, will refuse to install it.
2. Installing a Sprint baseband on a T-Mobile device, if it were possible, would render the wireless capabilities of the device useless until the T-Mobile baseband were restored.
3. You'd need to convert the IMEI to an ESN. This is perhaps the easiest thing to do since the ESN is the IMEI, but ignoring the very last digit in the IMEI (the check digit).
4. Sprint is extremely reluctant to activate non-Sprint phones on their network, to the point of outright refusal in some cases.
I personally recommend switching from Sprint to T-Mobile or an MVNO using T-Mobile if you really want to use this device. Not only is the service better than Sprint, you don't have any hoops to jump through in order to get the S4 working on the network. If you insist upon using Sprint, find a different device.
I got a us996. I popped in my sim card, added an APN, and changed my imei. I got data but no mms or calls. I've searched around a bit but I couldn't find much. If anyone has a work around or knows a solution let me know.
Appreciate it
I would be surprised to see a US996 work on the Sprint network (I happen to own both LS997 ZV7 and US996 USA models). It is known to work on Verizon, but I've never heard of anyone using it on Sprint.
First, the phone's IMEI would have to be whitelisted by Sprint. You can use various Sprint IMEI checkers to verify - Ting's BYOD checker works well for this: If the IMEI is clean, then it will tell you the phone will work on their CDMA network.
And don't you need to do a specific activation process for all phones on Sprint? Just transferring a SIM card between phones is not enough.
Also, I don't think any of the US996 variants have all of Sprint's LTE bands (they seem to lack bands 26 and 41), so even if you get it to work, your LTE signal coverage won't be very good.

I just changed the IMEI to my sprint model to get the Sim card to work. I can get data but can't send MMS or make calls (besides it saying it's forwarding me to a Sprint operator). So I know I can make calls, it's just not setup right.
That's where I think the activation features of a Sprint-branded phone (hands-free activation, profile update, PRL update) come in. Without those or some magic action of a Sprint employee, you're probably out of luck. Unfortunately, there is no LS997 KDZ firmware out there; otherwise, you may have been brave enough to try to cross-flash that onto your US996.
