MXPE audio skips/stutter with any Nougat Rom - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have tried a multitude of solutions to try and correct this. Everything from flashing upwards of 7 different roms to messing with CPU governors to trying V4A. No matter what I do, I get stutters when I play music for more than a few minutes on a 7.x.x rom.
Is this a common issue and is there any solution?

The only way I've improved this is by increasing the minimum clock speed for the CPU. It isn't perfect but has certainly improved it.

Yeah it isn't perfect, the SD808 just sucks and we're gonna just have to deal with it unless we get another phone lol

Overclocking - is it possible?

i am wondering if there is any possibility to overclock the cpu of the HD as it was possible on old HTC devices with omap processors?
i often found the HD to be very slow and i would like some more speed 9as probably most of us)
would it be adviseble to overclock it?
thanks for any useful info!
would be very cool! i bet htc is running it in a ridicolous safe speed =)
no infos on that matter?
any tech guy with some more experience?
nobody?
i did some research in to the matter, and there are some things that can be changed but i believe its just timeings, at the moment it would appear that you can not adjust the clock speed its self.
Also, changing the timings seemed to have a negative affect on stability, id imagin that whilst the clock speed may be running low, the timings are about as tight as you can get.
anyone tried using Pocket Hack Master yet?
will try it out tonight
I tried it but it didn't work. May not have been the right version perhaps.
It was a few weeks ago so I can't remember what actually happened when I tried it sorry.
there is a dynamic overclocking software for specifically qualcomm chipset. it's good anyway.

i wonder what software that would be?
can you point it for us? any details about it? would it be dangerous for HD integrity?
just installed it, then bells rang..... ur processor is not supported, looked rubbishw when the app loaded up. all distored, defiantely not meant for our wvga. Soooooo whats this qualcom overclocking software... i will explore google see what i can find.....
id give up, i searched for ages to no avail, i believe the only thing that can we tweaked are various timings but it seems that almost any attempt improve these results in instability and crashing.
I'm not really interested in overclocking, but I saw this thread and remembered I saw somewhere else some info on this subject.
Perhaps this is something to try:

This won't work - the Touch HD has a Qualcomm processor NOT an OMAP
Yes Please let us in on the action
well, i've saw this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=507798&highlight=overclock , but you guys read carefully, its apeears to be no effect, through if it has, every processor u overclock have its life shortened...i've a blue angel, 400 mhz working at a 200~530, xscale processor can do this (change it's frequency accordinto to the necessary) but i wond the Qualcomm ones do the same (according to the post appears to not, but it's no cleary).
everyone may say...so all you said righ now is a load of crap... Thats not, i'm just sharing wat i've discovered until now, since i've gone to blackstone few day ago.
Blackstone is slow?? I'm about to get it in several days. Please enlight me when comparing blackstone with Hermes (currently using). Thanks

CPU speed question

I'm noticing an issue as I try many of the ROMs out there. (Great job, everyone, BTW)
When I use SetCPU on most ROMs the speeds tend to vary greatly. But it seems that I only found one ROM which the speeds work right for my phone, which is Spencer Moore's Aloysious series. When I try other ROMs, they're fine until I OC them.
I'm using SetCPU and some very modest profiles. Not trying to push my luck. Any advice on better OC methods that won't lock me up so I can try more ROMs? Or could I be doing something very wrong?
Thanks in advance, and again, great work Devs! You're all very much appreciated.

What do you have the speed set to?
i've seen some people say they can't run 768 but run fine at 787 so its not always a lower is better issue. You got to just play around with them to see what works best with your phone.

Overclocking Opal 100

OVERCLOCKING LEADS TO MEMORY LEAKS AND CAN BE SEVERE IN SOME CASES.PLEASE OVERCLOCK AT YOUR OWN RISKS
I have tried Overclocking my Opal 100 at various clockspeeds on a WM6.5 ROM,Build 21889..but i seem to NOT have got the correct clockspeed coz i am experiencing frequent problems with my ROM.Current clockspeed is set to 264MHz,but the program memory shoots up when the device escalates in tym after a soft reset....Any 1 having overclocked his device and is HAPPY with the feedback Opal is giving, please mention the clockspeed with the current ROM version...thanks.
Device has been overclocked with OMAP CLOCK PLUS...here's the link if any1 needs to test it...{If you want to overclock your Viva, download the cab file from here:

And then follow the guide on this website:

yes.....im ultimately happy..using omap clock....and omap clock keep....opal is always on 276mhz....havent ever heard of or experienced a memory leak..
I'm stable @ 252 MHz with Jagan's Evo2 ROM for 2 months now!
However, I'll try to run it @ 264 MHz to get rid of the camera noise problem. I will reply to this thread with the results. I won't test it at 276 MHz, at least not in the summer anyway!
Please if you overclock your device, tell us the speed and the program you're using.

Oh and i found a problem with the latest OMAPclock in that linik,
So i have uploaded a decent one.
I just had to report this, I found a really weird solution to the Windows Media Player, Playlist bug (EVO 2 and 2.5) (Have reported this in that thread as well but thought posting it here will do some good too.). lol. Overclocking!
For some odd reason my device volume has also shot up, (without any distortion wat so ever), side effects of overclocking?

u guys are asking difference when overclocked ..lol ..
touch flo is very much faster...
can play call of duty 2..
mobile shell is faster..
can play games from omnigsoft...and so on goes the list

No i am not using SRS WOW HD. I don't like that software. and I dint say that whatever happened to my phone was a bad thing so its not a culprit, i would rather call it a social service software. (lol).

I finally found some courage to test my device @ 276 MHz. The test was successful so far, no problems, and no excess heat. And the camera problem is gone.
At this frequency I can actually feel the performance difference, as the device becomes more responsive and fluid.
Just tried the 276MHZ. VIVA become super fasts... Everything is very sippy. Nice, thanks for the help. I am with default OS

[Q] Static Noise Bug when playing Music

I've been experiencing some problems with the recent ROM's ive installed on my SG3. The thing is when i play music and switch ON\OFF the screen, i hear a weird static cracking noise. This bug has been reported to occur due to a bug in the kernel of the ROM's.
Kyrillo and dharam have admitted that the problem exists in their kernels and that they are trying hard to fix it.
My question is how many of the users who installed custom ROM's on their phones encountered this problem? Did anybody find a fix?
This is probably my 5th thread concerning the same problem in the kernels and yet i don't have a clear answer!
Seems like no one encountered this problem huh? lucky me
I've encountered it but I don't really care as after you turn your screen off it goes and you can barely hear it.
Sent from my GT-I5800 using XDA App

Yes but why have the irritating noise in the first place? It kinda ruins the music experience, just hope someone's working on fixing this.
So, I have an idea.
If I use profiles in SetCPU, with a dramatic change of frequency space, different to the normal running frequencies, than it seems to me that the switch cracked noise is heavier than without using profiles.
Normal: 148-930MHz, ScreenOff: 148-370 --> makes hard noise
Normal: 148-930MHz, NO Profile --> barely noise, but there
Kyrillos 6.x was my first high OC ROM, so I definitly used SetCPU and wanted to cut down the power consumption by using "ONDEMAND".
That failed completly! Cause with ondemand I got quiet the same noise as mentioned from you guys, but AT ALL TIMES!
The difference between conservative and ondemand is, that frequency is realy more rapidly changed! So for every single cpu usage, it goes high up but realy fast back to 148 again. --> In mind: Many freq changes!
Back to my idea. For me it is the frequency changing, maybe the voltage jump between the frequencies. I guess there is the problem digged.
A chance to get rid of this may be to change frequencys in an other way. Maybe not with steps, but with a real smooth upgoing MHz per MHz...if that is impossible, I think so because even computer cpus are chaning step to step, the voltage increasing/deincreasing should be made smooth. No idea how, but this is my thought^^
Realy hope you guys find something
EDIT: with ondemand but fixed by sliders to a single frequency realy stops that noise!!! So it realy must be the frequency/voltage changing.

That seems like a logical conclusion, that by changing the degree to which the frequencies change the noise could be controlled.

I notice it too, i think this is exactly what happens whihc results in the noise. Dev's are you listening?
I really hope that somebody comes up with a solution.
Need a quick fix for this, it's driving me nuts. Degrading to any stock firmware (eclair or froyo) isn't working at all!
I have the exact same problem and its really bugging me coz im really ocd over sound quality. I've also tried flashing back to stock froyo but the stupid noises are still there...
HELP ME SOMEONE!!!!!!!!!!!
Are there any ROMs/Kernels that don't have this 'static/crackling in music' problem?
I have crackling problem in music too. I have kyrillos 7.1 OC. Someone knows what's wrong?
Flashing to CyanogenMod has seemed to do the trick for music but now I have no video playback

How to turn off and on cores in CM 6.0?

Hi,
I'm finding the Play's microlags quite annoying. I'm using squid's CM port and with kernel adiutor I found out that all little cores are turned off be default, no matter which governor i use (I guess on purpose). It seems that as the battery empties, the little cores are being turned on and the big ones are turned off - which causes even way more mircolags.
I can't influence these settings. Does anyone know why or how to change this?

Thanks, but...
1. I can't write in the thread since I don't have enough posts for developers' threads yet
2. AFAIK, there is no German stock 6.0, or is there?
3. Is there no other way? Is this intended by CM or what?
