How can i update the latest Resurrection rom via OTA app? I can't find the app anywhere?
i clearly don't remember what it is said but ,
you should go to
settings -> their will be a RR symbol in settings under customisation(i am not sure is that customisation . but their will be something RR customisation.)
their you will find many customisation options. Just go right and you will find it under one of the menu . See carefully.
i hope this helps
OK I found it but when I hit the OTA update nothing happens..
lol i thought this was about the official nougat ota. You may want to edit the title into something like "How to update to latest Resurrection ROM via OTA updater app?" to avoid confusion.
@darko454 what happens when you hit. do you go to screen where it tell you your current version, an option to Check updates.
or just nothing . i am bit confused where you are stuck.
Can you add screenshots. ?
ok i went to settings > configurations >miscellaneous > Updates
under OTA there is the:
Latest version
Check update
Automatic update interval
What do i have to do, to download the latest version?
I recall if you press Check Update, then if there is a new update available, a notification will appear. Also, underneath that Check Update Option is the 'Download latest build', which will direct you to the Sourceforge or Google Drive page and there you'll be able to download the most recent build (as of writing this, it's the 21/02/2017 build).
For RR and for the unofficial Lineage OS ROMs, we don't get incremental OTA updates, we have to download the full (300-400 MB) ROM update each time to update. So for RR, you might wish to keep an eye on https://sourceforge.net/projects/resurrectionremix/files/athene/ for the latest updates.
as echo92 said .
click on check for updates
if there is any it will notify otherwise message will appear "No New updates".

I am unrooted running a stock B180 right now on my PLK-L01 Honor 7 device. I have over the past few months waited for Marshmallow 6.0 Upgrade as it was promised that it would come over OTA the start of this year. Though it hasn't so I decided to manually upgrade the software so I downloaded the latest full version firmware of B320-330 from the hihonor UK website. The software installation goes fine up until 60% then suddenly I get an error message saying "software failed". Why am I getting this error message when the firmware is correct? I am located in Sweden and the closest region to mine is UK so therefore I got on their website and downloaded this firmware. There is only 1 firmware that applies to the Europe region because there is no firmware that's particularly for Sweden itself.
Funny thing is even though I get an error message "software failed" the device still reboots and the Android v.6 works perfectly. If it does not install properly, marshmallow shouldn't even be working! Guys what could be wrong please help! I want to do a clean installation without any error message.

this is normal!
Now you can redo the update process with pressing vol+ & vol- & power button for more than 3 sec.
After than the update process starts again! This time it should be finished with 100%.
Thanks for your reply,
Really? That's strange. This is the first time I am to believe that even after an error message something works just as good. So just after the error message shows up I need to press vol+,- and power button at the same time so it will resume. Didn't know that. Instead what I did was I did a rollback to B300 and then updated to B330 this way I didn't get any error message. Very cumbersome.
If you are on B330 now, you should know this code too: *#*#2846579#*#*
If you enter this code, you will see a new service menu! This you need to manual update in the next future!
To manual update, you have to copy the update.zip into folder "dload" at your ext.sd.
After than, you use menu point 4 to have the possibility to start the update process manuay.
So don't forget this code.
Yes I know that code but honestly it doesn't matter whether you use that code or do a forced upgrade it still results in error message. Yes I did exactly as you are saying even before your message that's how I did it.
A question I have to you. If sometime later I regret and wanna go back to b180 can I do so and still get the marshmallow update OTA? Like going back to the stock b180 software which I had earlier or before I did any manual upgrade at all.

this should be possible. -> Rollback B300 -> reboot -> now you are on B300! -> Update B180 Full rom from the Honor page -> reboot.
If all is going right, you are back on B180.
During the rollback, all datas will be erased! So make a backup at first!!!
See my signature point 1 & 2!!!
BTW: I think there is no difference between the manual or OTA update becaus e it is nearls the same procedure and it has the same file.
Maybe it is possible to extract the B330 update.app with honrorextractor. Than you have to flash most of the extracted files with fastboot.
(Boot; Recovery2; Recovery; System; Data; Modem; Cust; *.img files)
After the next reboot (fingers crossed!) the update procedure should finished without errors.
Yes that's the way I had imagined it to be, doing a rollback to B300 and then downgrade to B180 however will this be the official stock firmware? What is signature point 1 & 2, I don't understand?
Also, where can I get the honorextractor from? Never heard of it besides flashing and fastboot all refers to when the device is rooted and mine is not. I am familiar with these terms as my previous phone was rooted so. I don't understand this boot, recovery, data ,modem, cust part etc its very confusing

hi Harman, sent you a private message if you can reply please. thanks
My G935T is on PK1 version, rooted previously but currently unrooted, device status is Official. However the software update menu has changed. I remember seeing Download updates manually & Scheduled software update, previously. But now, I see only one option "Software Update" and it does nothing when I clicked on it. Any ideas on what is wrong?

You unrooted through odin?
Is there an easy way to get it? I tried the firmware finder app from the play store and it's still not working. I show the updates available, but when I try to send to updater it keeps bringing up that notice saying I need to go into my wifi and change proxy to localhost and 8080, even though I've already done that. Is there any other way I can get the nougat update?
I'm having the same problem I can't update to any nougat firmware I'm on c636b191
See my post in the OTHER thread you created.
You must update to b200 via dload and then boom u get nougat update
Hi all community. I have a phone S4 9505 and i install the firmware as the object. I have this issue:
When i turn on my phone i received the notify for update, i click before on download and then on install. I receive a warning telling me that I must have a TWRP version as Ricovery (I have the version 3.1.0 already) when I click on update the phone reboots and goes into recovery mode but nothing happens. Then reboot normally always comes out the same notification, but I can not install the update. The alert tells me that i can do even manually. how can I do?
You have to manually flash the build.

Yes with file.zip from recovery
This is the file (lineage-14.1-20170310-UNOFFICIAL-jfltexx)
Flash that the same way you flashed Lineage the first time.
There is no actual auto-update that will flash it automatically.

Yes, while notifying me always comes out in the status bar. Where can I find the official image for my Galaxy device? You could give me the exact link from where you can download the exact firmware to see if there are updates?

Download it from this site or this site, search your model number and choose the correct firmware based on your country code.
You must sign up to download..as always.
I rooted my phone last October 2020 and installed a custom ROM. Enjoyed it for a while but today I decided I want to revert to stock.
- Flashed stock ROM from Frija (wasn't able to backup data and settings when I first rooted my phone) (the stock firmware is the May 2021 security firmware update, it's the only one available from both SamFirm and Frija based on the region and carrier where my phone came from) using the HOME CSC file instead of the CSC (not sure if it's important to point that out but i'm just gonna bring it up just in case)
- Re-locked bootloader using download mode. Verified by searching for Netflix on the Play Store and thankfully, it showed up.
However, I tried making the phone search for an OTA update by going to Settings > Software updates > Download and install, but after checking for updates, it says my software is "up to date". I'm not entirely what the latest software version in my region is but I really want to get OTA updates back. I don't care about tripping Knox or what not, I just need the OTA updates.

As for my experience, if you are unable to get updates because of rooting, you will get: "Unable to connect to the server" or something like that. If neither Frija nor SamFirm were able to find newer software that you have, it's more like region-specific, not a rooting problem
