G935T - Software Update Menu - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

My G935T is on PK1 version, rooted previously but currently unrooted, device status is Official. However the software update menu has changed. I remember seeing Download updates manually & Scheduled software update, previously. But now, I see only one option "Software Update" and it does nothing when I clicked on it. Any ideas on what is wrong?

LG G2 Rooted On Stock Rom- No "Software Update" In Settings

"Software Update" option doesn't exist. Stock AT&T G2, rooted, Jelly Bean.
Hopefully this is just a really quick question...
I never updated my phone ever since it came out two years ago, so it's been on Jelly Bean.
I decide to update today but the option for 'Software Update' under 'About phone' isn't there. Neither is 'Update Center' in the settings menu.
I don't remember exactly what I did when I first got my phone, but I do know that it's rooted and is on the stock ROM. I've read that rooting shouldn't affect OTA updates, so I'm kind of confused about why this option doesn't exist. I thought that even if it was never pushed to my phone, the option should still exist in the menu?
Also, flashing firmware or doing anything that would wipe my phone isn't an option I would consider.
Thanks for any help.

Won't that flash my firmware and clear all my data? Not an option I'm willing to consider at all.

AT&T 5.01 S4 - Removed Root and still can't receive OTA

Hello,
My S4 is running 5.01 and I had root (SuperSU) and Flashfire.
I wanted to receive the OTA security updates, but because my phone was rooted, I thought this was the cause.
So I went into SuperSu and selected unroot phone and uninstalled Supersu and Flashfire.
I went to the about - updates to receive the latest updates and the phone rebooted saying the updates failed.
Reading the forums threads, am I screwed? or is there still a way to bring the phone back to stock so I can get the latest updates for it while running 5.01?
Did you remove or freeze any of the at&t apps?

Hello,
I did not not freeze or remove any of the AT&T Bloatware.
When I boot the phone up, it still shows the custom unlocked icon. I presume this is why the OTA updates are failing.
I believe the fact that the phone shows the "unlocked" icon is causing the problem.
Have you tried using kies or smartswitch to perform an upgrade or recovery?
Unfortunately, I don't have an i337 to help you further.

Appears the ATT model does not allow for recovery. SmartSwitch of Kies just allows for data backup and restore.

How Come there is no "Check for Update" etc. on my V9

I have a Honor V9 - DUK-AL20C00B191 and when I went into Settings -> About Phone I do not see a "check for update" button or anything of the sort. I know it is the Chinese Model, and I am in Canada, but that should not make a difference, right? I am still on the March 2017 Android Security patch and I would like to get some sort of update. I tried Firmware Finder and my phone is eligible for updates but they don't show up either using the Proxy setup in Firmware Finder.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
All fixed and now running Oreo on my v9! A couple of full wipes and then reinstalling through eRecovery got me there!

How can I update firmware on a rooted HD 10?

Whenever I try to update the firmware through the settings it says "Check for updates failed", I might have disabled auto updates don't remember. Would it be more simpler to toggle it back on or manually update the firmware? I'm fine with instructions for either option.

[SOLVED] S10+ not scanning for OTA updates despite having relocked bootloader using download mode and flashed stock ROM using Odin.

I rooted my phone last October 2020 and installed a custom ROM. Enjoyed it for a while but today I decided I want to revert to stock.
- Flashed stock ROM from Frija (wasn't able to backup data and settings when I first rooted my phone) (the stock firmware is the May 2021 security firmware update, it's the only one available from both SamFirm and Frija based on the region and carrier where my phone came from) using the HOME CSC file instead of the CSC (not sure if it's important to point that out but i'm just gonna bring it up just in case)
- Re-locked bootloader using download mode. Verified by searching for Netflix on the Play Store and thankfully, it showed up.
However, I tried making the phone search for an OTA update by going to Settings > Software updates > Download and install, but after checking for updates, it says my software is "up to date". I'm not entirely what the latest software version in my region is but I really want to get OTA updates back. I don't care about tripping Knox or what not, I just need the OTA updates.

As for my experience, if you are unable to get updates because of rooting, you will get: "Unable to connect to the server" or something like that. If neither Frija nor SamFirm were able to find newer software that you have, it's more like region-specific, not a rooting problem
