Mount internal HDD via Samba - Network Storage instead of SDcard - Shield Android TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
is there a way to mount internal HDD instead of SD card via Settings > Device > Storage & reset > SHIELD storage access > Over local network ?
I have followed http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4172/~/how-do-i-share-shield-tv-folders-with-a-pc and see only INTERNAL ...
Thank you.

At first I only saw the Internal as well, it was only after a few reboots I saw the External too. I also had to disable/enable the SMB server once after I plugged in the HDD. Did you set the HDD as Internal Storage or is it just plugged in as an non-adopted External Storage (both should work, just curious)?

[Q] Mount /sdcard/sd only over USB?

Typically, when you connect the Vibrant to your PC and select "mount," both /sdcard (internal) & /sdcard/sd (external) are mounted as 2 separate devices on your PC. Is there any way to only mount the external sd to the PC and to leave the internal storage for the phone? I doubt it's possible through the standard GUI, but what about through ADB?

where is external SD card mounted?

put one in. can't seem to find it.
do i need to format or something?
If you are connecting to the tablet via USB mass storage, you will initially see the internal storage of the device. On mine there is then an 'external_sd' folder (link) in that volume that re-directs to the microSD storage.
/sdcard/external_sd
It's a really irritating way to mount the internal and external storage actually. Buy hey, what can you do?

Internal + SD card using same drive letter.

For some reason my Nook is assigning the internal mem and sd card the same letter ( E: ).
So when I attach nook to usb cable..it auto mounts the internal storage. But no sd-card yet.
Ok so far.
Then I chose mount as USB from settings so i can see both.
And instead of using a different letter so I can see and use both, it overrides the internal and assigns itself as the same so I can now see the USB but not the internal.
What do I need to do to make my computer see each as a separate letter?

Storage not showing up

So i just rooted my device and installed Root Explorer. I plugged in my OTG cabel with the 32gb fat32 card attached. I can not find it in Root Exploerer. I plugged it into my galaxy nexus phone and found it under Storage (the memory card shows up inside). The Storage folder shows up on my Nexus 7, but it doesnt show the memory card inside.
Any suggestions?
Have you installed StickMount?
It has to be mounted as I found out last night. I mounted a 750gb HDD and it found all my videos and pics. Pretty cool.
I have Nexus Media Importer and it shows up there. On my phone, inside the Storage folder i see a folde called usbdisk, which is the attached memory card. This same folder does not show up on the nexus 7
I installed stickmount and mounted the drive, but still dont see anything

WIFI not working Internal and external storage not visible to my laptop

Dear All
Please help me urgently I am really going mad.
After downgrading my Lenovo k4 note from MM to LP (A7010a48_S152_160302_ROW), I am not able to access internal storage and SD card from my laptop.
In USB computer connection options when I am
1) connecting to Media device then -> showing CD drive of Lenovo suite, not able to see both internal and external storage in laptop
2) connecting to Camera (PTP) then -> laptop showing DCIM folder and another pic folder of both internal and external storage, but I can transfer only pics & video, still not able to see both storages as an external storage.
I have connected my mobile to other PC and I am surprised that I am able to see internal and SD on other PC. So I have checked with other mobile to connect my PC and surprised again that my Samsung J7 connected to my PC I am able to access both internal storage and external storage. I am using windows 8.1 on my PC.
Further, I am not able to use my phone wifi, my wifi is not connecting to any wifi devices and asking password again and again.
