TWRP recovery reboots during backup - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My phone reboots every time I try to make twrp backup. I've tried r2, r3, r5 twrp recovery but having the same issue. It was working fine until few days ago. I've even tried different sd cards but had the same result. What should i do to fix this issue ?

Make sure your device isn't charging while you're doing the backup. It does this sometimes because the device gets too hot, I think.

Nah, too much of a hassle to set up everything again.

Won't turn on. Bricked?

Hoping someone can help me.
Was tweaking on my phone this morning-I was in recovery (TWRP), wiped everything, installed a rom/gapps (Liquid beta 3) and then, without rebooting, restored the backup of my Liquid beta 3.1 over it. (I was trying to wipe any remnants of the kernel from my previous rom by flashing the rom). I guess that's a no-no cause now my Nexus 4 won't turn on or anything. I feel lost without my phone.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Used to happen to me all the time...
You should install the ROM you have and advanced restore from that ROM's backup [In my case only /data]

Bootloop

A few days ago, I flashed a custom rom and after installing it, I realized that I didn't like it. So, I tried to restore my old rom through twrp(ive made a backup before). But then when the restore is completed and I reboot to system. It got stuck on bootloop.
I've tried wiping the system clean, factory reset.
I don't know how else to do.
Anyone got any idea why? I'd be glad
Rom that I restored is RR rom by tank.
Thanks

Yes on the latest twrp. Idk what the issue is.
Would it be because I'm on 7.0? Idk if that's a thing but I would assume it wouldn't be the case.

Are you using the one for your device from here?
There are 2 variants of the SM-G928R4

Yes I'm sure I'm using the right one for my device. I have never had this issue before.
Went back to twrp 3.0.2.0 and it's fine, I guess it was just the latest release that was the issue.

That used to happen to me. My phone vibration was broken, but a few days ago it started working again and twrp also started working, so I wonder, does your phone vibration work?

That's it then. For some reason, TWRP doesn't seem to work if vibration doesn't work.

I don't really know, sorry, my phone vibration just started working on his own, and so TWRP did. Try asking OpenKirin team on their thread why TWRP doesn't work if vibration doesn't, this is all I can tell you
