Hi Everyone,
I've encountered an issue with the secure startup feature. On boot after providing the start up pin, phone take a moment showing a unlocking animation and then load to the home screen. The problem starts after that with no signals and unable to access mobile networks option (says insert sim though the sims are identified at the sim manager). I've done restarts but no use, then check the IMEI codes and it was unavailable. I thought the EFS folder is surely corrupted and I need it to give it to service. However, after several tests and finally disabling the secure startup option got the phone back to it's normal working condition. (Please note that I've not done a factory restore yet) Does anyone else have the same issue? is it a bug?

Hi,
My friend has bought a SGS7 because his SGS4 faced a problem, so he gave to me to fix it
The problem is as follows:
The phone sees the sim after maybe 5-10 minutes AFTER booting up and then 5-10 min after that it vibrates twice and than reboots its self. When the phone boots up and i try to view the imei by *#06# there is no response however a while after that when the sim is recognised the imei box pops up. Even without the sim the exact same things happen
#*The top part of the screen is gone slightly pink I think thats because its due to overheating as the phone is hot when for example is charging and not being used or when the phone is used to play spotify with the screen turned off dont know if this will help anyone the casue of the modem disfunctioning but the screen is pinkish where the processor and the sim is so...*#
Now i have tryed some troubleshooting withut success i have done as follows:
I've changed the sim tray which didnt help at all
I put tape on the sim/sdcard conncetor to add more pesssure (worked for other) without success
Tried to downgrade to 4.4.2 to change modem as there is no mode for the lolipop version of the stock rom
And lastly i have applyed the 4.4.2 modem to 5.0.1 that did nothing to the system
Please help me i have searched trough google and found out that this only happens when downgrading for lolipop to kitkat but he has never done anything to the phone no root not even a screen repair (where im based there are may scamers who replase the screen and than say the for the screen to work that had to modify the system thanks to that they charge more for the repair)
Please help, anyhelp is useful
cheers

I'm having the same issue.
Fresh wipe and install corrects the error but once the battery goes flat I lose all connection except WiFi.
Non of the *# codes seem to work either.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
basic desc in the title.
I'm tring to perform a carrier unlock. I have the proper code for my IMEI but the auto screen just stays endlessly stuck saying Registering Sim network unlock... it doesn't error confirm reject nothing. resetting and toggling airplane mode do nothing. I've tried unlocking from the dial pad but it just says mobile networks not available.
I'm moving from rogers to telus Rogers sim card works fine, anything else seems to not work.
In the setting menu I can see various network providers, but I cannot manually connect to one.
It's been giving me difficulty putting stock rom back on but as I understand it the rooted OS shouldn't be preventing the unlock.
please send help.
Can it be cured with fire?
Hey guys
Today i got update to Oreo (1.6g) on my LG G6 (Italy)
After update got finished phone booted like normaly do.
I typed my PIN , which was perfectly correct , then PIN from my SIM card, and usually there is 3rd lock screen that is fingerprint or PIN number (4 digits).
I was like : Oreo here i come, BUT NO not happend , i had fingerprint to unlock so i tried that, but it said : u can't use fingerprint now , so i typed my 4 digits lock screen code and it said that its wrong one , i tried multiple times and even different ones , that made me really confused (i'm 100% sure its the correct one), i rebooted the phone and the story stays the same , but now the 1st PIN (on the bootload screen) that where correct for the 1st time is not working at all (it was the same as fingerprint unlock).
What should i do? backup and factory reset or what? is that a well known Oreo bug?
go in TWRP, and go data/system with the file manager, and delete the file locksettings.db, restart the phone and it will be good
but i have a completly stock device , with bootloader locked.
Or am i'm missing something...?
im stuck at secure startup.

Alas you can not recover your data the purpose of a lock is to block access to sensitive data in case of stolen for example so that it is impossible to recover anything : /
Thx for all the responses,i really appreciate that,i guess RIP.
i experience the same thing, my galaxy J8 got update this morning and after the phone restart it asked me for the pin, and after i enter "my pin", itu says it is incorrect. this is awful
guys how did it end. I have secure start-up screen in LG G6 after OTA. My regular pit is not working
Hi all,
:crying: - Looking for a way to get my Mi Note 2 back to life!
This device has never been unlocked or ROMed before (although it has been re-flashed successfully via Xiaomi's own pushed updates).
It is running MIUI 10.0.something (cannot access menus to verify exact).
The problem
----------------
I did a standard factory reset on the phone.
Once restarted, it takes you through the normal setup screens such as 'language', 'region', 'wifi network' after which I am given the option to select "copy your data from an old phone" or "set up as new", no matter which I select, my phone goes to the next screen which shows "Checking for updates". Here it stays - endlessly...
What have I tried?
----------------------
I have tried a different wifi network but it does the same.
I have also tried selecting "copy your data" instead of "set up as new" but it does the same.
Thoughts
------------
I thought I would try to install a new stock ROM to see if that would fix the issue. However, in order to unlock with the Mi bootloader unlock tool (and then use their flashing tool), apparently to do this, I need to enable something under developer options - clearly impossible when I cannot get to any android menus.
The phone *can* be re-started into the fastboot screen but does this help me at all?
On the MIUI website I noticed the following in the tips and tutorials forum: How to install a MIUI update without unlocking the bootloader: https://en.miui.com/thread-3852597-1-1.html
The above got me slightly excited before I realised that I have no way to place a ROM into the ‘downloaded_rom’ folder in the internal storage of my device (as the article instructs). Note that the reason for this (on my phone at least) is that although a Windows explorer window does open when I connect the phone to my laptop, it is empty (i.e. you cannot see any files/folders in it). BTW - I know what causes that specific issue as that bug was present in the device ages ago - basically, the phone seems to default to be in USB charge mode and in order to see the folders in Windows Explorer, you have to go into developer options and manually change the USB mode and then change it back to MTP mode. Once that is done, you can see the files/folder structures. However, I cannot get to any developer options as I cannot get to Settings at all.
What can I do?
------------------
So my burning question is this: How can I re-ROM this theoretically 'working' device, given the above constraints?
Is there any way to do anything while the phone is in the fastboot mode perhaps?
Is there some method maybe used to recover a bricked device that I could employ here?
Thank you for any help offered!
Cheers!
Okay so i tried the SamFail Rom / Root. 5 seconds into the root i got an error, a PIT fail code. The phone which is a carrier unlocked one went into an infinite boot loop on the recovery screen, and wouldn't let me enter the recovery options. I tried many hard resets, took out the battery, and even let it drain but nothing helped, it would just boot loops into the downloading update / Error . After all this i decided to try to flash the original firmware into it. Only thing is i didn't write down the software version. But since i have t mobile i thought why not just flash it with the latest tmobile software. So i did.
Now the phone turns on and everything works but it wont connect to the network. IMS registration status is not registered, Mobile network state is Disconnected but it does say T-Mobile which is my carrier.
Under the Odin download mode, before i even flashed it at the top left under carrier IT said SPR so i figured the phone was originally a sprint phone then unlocked and sold by the company. so i also tried the SPRINT software but same thing happens.
Under Co figuring Service it just stays registering then says " Please contact your service provider....." internal error -1.
Under UICC Unlock it says Your device is unlocked for any SIM card but then when i click it, it says SIM unlocking could not be completed please try again later. Internal Error 407.
Any help or insight would be appreciated. i don't care about the root anymore i just want the phone to work normally, Thanks.
---------------------------------------------------------
:Edit - I messed with it enough now it shows LTE service and everything but the. SPRINT OMADM Message wont go away. And the Carrier Hub - Requests are processing wont go away. also i get very minimum service if any at all. . Any help? Thanks.
Click on settings app->apps->click 3 dots button at upper right corner->click show systemapps-> search Sprint OMADM app and force stop it
