Hi,
My friend has bought a SGS7 because his SGS4 faced a problem, so he gave to me to fix it
The problem is as follows:
The phone sees the sim after maybe 5-10 minutes AFTER booting up and then 5-10 min after that it vibrates twice and than reboots its self. When the phone boots up and i try to view the imei by *#06# there is no response however a while after that when the sim is recognised the imei box pops up. Even without the sim the exact same things happen
#*The top part of the screen is gone slightly pink I think thats because its due to overheating as the phone is hot when for example is charging and not being used or when the phone is used to play spotify with the screen turned off dont know if this will help anyone the casue of the modem disfunctioning but the screen is pinkish where the processor and the sim is so...*#
Now i have tryed some troubleshooting withut success i have done as follows:
I've changed the sim tray which didnt help at all
I put tape on the sim/sdcard conncetor to add more pesssure (worked for other) without success
Tried to downgrade to 4.4.2 to change modem as there is no mode for the lolipop version of the stock rom
And lastly i have applyed the 4.4.2 modem to 5.0.1 that did nothing to the system
Please help me i have searched trough google and found out that this only happens when downgrading for lolipop to kitkat but he has never done anything to the phone no root not even a screen repair (where im based there are may scamers who replase the screen and than say the for the screen to work that had to modify the system thanks to that they charge more for the repair)
Please help, anyhelp is useful
cheers
Anyone?

I'm having the same issue.
Fresh wipe and install corrects the error but once the battery goes flat I lose all connection except WiFi.
Non of the *# codes seem to work either.

Goto Emergency Mode, and upgrade from KDZ program. In KDZ program, you must setting Phone Mode to CS_Emergency. And flash agan.

can any one tell me what should i do
Remove battery press volume - or + I can't remember try two options, then plug in usb.
You should see blue screen with DOWNLOAD or EMERGENCY MODE text.
i tried all keys combination nothing work
my mobile internet went dead after flashing quarx rom (I did it wrong btw...), but everything else worked fine.
I couldn't get mobile internet back on track no matter what (it was disabled in quick settings when I flashed quarx), I even tried factory reset and flashing the baltic rom. during the flashing, the kdz updater gave me an error close to the end, and my phone became stuck at the android screen.
even though I have CWR installed, so I could flash it again, I sent it to LG claiming I was updating through their website and since my phone doesn't start. I didn't tell them anything about the mobile internet not working. Hopefully they'll clean the phone completely and that will fix it.
I'll be picking up my phone after work today, I'll let you know how it went.
Same thing Happened to me n almost **** my pants for killing my brand new phone..
follow these steps
1. volume +or-(i dont remember) +camera n power on. it should turn on n say downloading mode.
2. update( you can use kdz updater, it probably wont crash this time but even if gets stuck just w8 for it)
3. after updating, remove the usb cable n turn on the phone, hopefully it would work
4. ENJOY ( N THINK TWICE BEFORE EFFING WITH THE PHONE, )
i am not sure about the keys for emergency/downloading mode(i think it was vol-) GOOGLE IT IF KEYS DONT WORK.
Put to microwave on 2 sec without battery and send do service
my service provider fixed my phone in 3 days without any issues, they flashed the t-mobile branded 2.1 on it. went home and now I have the open europe with fastboot and cwr.
so if all else fails, just send it to LG or your provider.
cheers!
In brief:
The N4 is stuck on the whirling circles during boot. It is likely due to some broken bit of hardware. I would like to determine where it's stuck. After that I can decide if repair is possible or if I don't need that feature and it can be skipped one way or another or toss the brick altogether.
In full:
While out of town S.O. dropped the phone and the digitizer shattered. She said the screen appeared to still work, but no input was possible. She ordered a new digitizer and dumped it on me to repair, little realizing the difficulty of replacing only the digitizer. Still, I gave it the ol' college try on a slow day at work, heating the glass shards to yield the glue and get them off the screen. After installing new digitizer I was not surprised that I had damaged the screen and just a few colored stripes displayed.
So I ordered and installed a digi/lcd assembly and I now have a functioning screen and digitizer. The problem is the system won't completely boot and is stuck on the infamous whirling circles. I am fairly certain that during boot some device is being queried and is broken, and the boot has no timeout to skip it and move on. I would like to know where it's stuck. I *think* the way to do that is to somehow direct kernel messages out the phone's USB so I can use PuTTY to display them on a workstation. I do not know how to do that. If there's some other way, like getting the messages to display on the phone's screen, I don't know that either. Hence my post.
The techie bits:
Long story short here's a summary of relevant actions I've done so far.
Phone still goes into the mako bootloader and I can use fastboot.
Used TWRP recovery to wipe everything (including itself)
Flashed factory 4.4.2 OS
Reinstalled TWRP recovery and had it root for me
I now have two ways to access the phone - fastboot when in the stock mako bootloader, and adb when I fire up TWRP.
Now what can I do to find where the system boot is hanging? Suggestions welcome.
first thing to look at - proximity / light sensors connector . phone will not boot if they are disconnected from mainboard.

I will check that. Thanks for the reply.
Edit: I just checked, and you were right on the money. The tab with the connector for that device had flipped under the mainboard so I didn't connect it. All fixed now and I have a working phone. I owe you a couple beers. Thanks.
Hi, you are lucky
I have a similar problem.
Yesterday i restarted my phone and >problem, stuck at X-boot-logo<
Already tried different roms.
Can get into fastboot-mode and therefore can have ADB with CMW-recovery.
I replaced my screen a few months ago.
Already checked proximity sensor cable.
btw:
at the beginning, one time I got it to "optimizing apps...", but it was stuck at "starting apps"
How can I see if my proximity/light sensor is dead?
can I use the Nexus 4 serial?
Any other solution?
Regards
You can try to downgrade to stock 4.2 android, phone most likelly will boot, but looks like you have lost your IMEI.

OK, I'll try to go back to 4.2.
Anything I can do if I really lost IMEI?
I think you could be right.
I rebooted my phone because i got no network connection. (even after airplanemode on/off)
---------- Post added at 07:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:45 PM ----------
OK, 4.2 booted successfully
Thanks.
but phone does not connect to network.
IMEI seems to be lost (*#06# shows nothing for imei)
What do you think about restoring IMEI with dd-command from "somewhere"?
take a look here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/LG_Nexus_4/Partition_Layout
do you have baseband version unknown too ?
if yes, first I would try dd mmcblk0p1 (modem / radio.img) and only after that next step would be m9kefs1/mmcblk0p8 , m9kefs2/mmcblk0p9 = IMEI
this is only speculation, never tried that ...

no baseband too.
imei empty, not zero
I don't think dd mmcblk0p1 would be useful as it is only the radio.img.
You can find it in the stock image
The first step now is backupping the efs-partitions
do you mean directly writing IMEI to it?
I can try to copy the IMEI(or all partitions) from my brother's phone to mine
Thx
don't hurt to try dd modem partition first, maybe it's corrupted in some way ... why it's unknown ?
Dear all,
I have only recently lost my IMEI und tried everything to recover it. As a matter of fact I had made a backup before and tried to restore it and it didn't work. Today, I tried doing that another time and after that I wanted to reboot my phone but after it shut down it just doesn't boot up anymore. It shows nothing, only the black screen. It seems like it doesn't react to anything, I also tried to pull the battery but that also wasn't successful. I also can't get into Download Mode.
Any ideas what I could do?
Charge the battery or try another battery first .
I did both, I charged the battery but it didn't help and I also tried another (fully charged) battery, without success.
try to connect with kies 3
Kies doesn't recognize my phone.
Service centre repair your next step .
I'll let my carrier send it to Samsung and tell them that it crashed after trying to update to Lollipop via Kies, I read that this worked in some cases. If it doesn't I'll have to have it repaired.
What do you guys think about those "USB jigs"? Do you think those could help me with my problem?
YAAAAY!
Thanks to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625332 I was able to unbrick my device and by flashing a new PIT-File and a Stock ROM even my IMEI came back. I think my partition was somehow messed up because after flashing the PIT-File it began to work properly, but I flashed the Stock ROM to have a "clean" system again and installed Cyanogenmod afterwards with success.
So how does this fix work if the phone is unable to connect or power on ..
OP yes try the usb recovery jig to see if it boots to download mode .
Well, it did help. After I had put the Image on my SDcard and removed my SIM card I was able to boot my phone, this was the main issue. The rest was child's play, I flashed the PIT-file and a stock ROM and everything was working fine again.
flash new PIT file
hi you got to flash a new pit flie. maybe something damaged your phone boot. look in here

Hey guys. I tried rooting my LG G4c but after rebootingen it seems that my phone is stuck in a loop, and i can't fix it.
What happens when i turn the phone on:
1. LG logo turn up
2. The following message appears:
[670] --------------------------------------
[670]
[670] Boot verification fail!!
[670] - cause : MISMATCH_SIG_LEN
[670]
[670] --------------------------------------
3. Phone reboots
Using the power button + volume down does NOT work anymore to start recovery mode (although starting the IMEI display still works).
I tried using LG UP to install the original firmware via USB but the device does not show up in the list (probably because the phone keeps rebooting itself). Some website also said to connect the phone with the pc, turn LG UP on, then put out the battery and put it back in to make it work, but that also didn't work.
Anyone know what i can try next? What method can i use to reinstall the firmware? And if it's not possible, does it cost much to repair and who should i ask?
Edit: It seems i can start "Factory data reset" but when this proces starts the phone restarts and continues the loop with the error message.
I also tried connecting the device with LG UP while the phone is stalled on the IMEI screen and the Factory data reset screen. This way the phone does note restart itself and it might appear in the device list of LG UP. But too bad it still didn't work.
I don't know if i'm reaching anyone who can help me, but even a answer from anyone saying that the problem is hard to deal with would already be very relieving I really can't find anything related to this problem on the internet and i'm noobish myself. I'm probably gonna visit a some phone shop down town in the next days because i really don't know what to do.

I had this problem too. I send it to LG and said the phone was unplugged during update process. They flashed it and I gave it to my mom. I have an S4 yet. Much better performance and rom support.
download mode

Can you get it into download mode?
Hi All,
So I purchased a broken S8 to repair to give to my Mum as she doesn't need a fancy phone but wanted something she could take good pictures on.
I have repaired several phones in the past with software / hardware issues so thought this would be no problem.
So I have installed the motherboard into the frame / LCD assembly and connected everything up, reset it and removed the FRP so it now boots into the OS.
Noticed it wasn't getting any signal and wouldn't detect the sim card, so I thought it was most likely bent pins on the reader, so swapped it out for a new one but when I looked at the old one there where no issues with any of the pins and the new one acts the same, reads the SD card but not the sim.
Thought is it a demo model so I went to look at the IMEI using *#06# and it just hangs and shows a black screen, not even 000000000 etc, so I then check the Baseband and it is just blank too no text underneath it.
I have followed a few steps posted on the forum and online;
Reflashed with latest BTU UK FW from Sammobile
Installed a PIT file
Reset the phone from the recovery menu along with cache partitions
What should my next steps be or am I just wasting my time and should just write it off ?
Thanks in advance.
