PIN is not corect after Oreo update - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hey guys
Today i got update to Oreo (1.6g) on my LG G6 (Italy)
After update got finished phone booted like normaly do.
I typed my PIN , which was perfectly correct , then PIN from my SIM card, and usually there is 3rd lock screen that is fingerprint or PIN number (4 digits).
I was like : Oreo here i come, BUT NO not happend , i had fingerprint to unlock so i tried that, but it said : u can't use fingerprint now , so i typed my 4 digits lock screen code and it said that its wrong one , i tried multiple times and even different ones , that made me really confused (i'm 100% sure its the correct one), i rebooted the phone and the story stays the same , but now the 1st PIN (on the bootload screen) that where correct for the 1st time is not working at all (it was the same as fingerprint unlock).
What should i do? backup and factory reset or what? is that a well known Oreo bug?

go in TWRP, and go data/system with the file manager, and delete the file locksettings.db, restart the phone and it will be good

but i have a completly stock device , with bootloader locked.
Or am i'm missing something...?
im stuck at secure startup.

ok without TWRP will be impossible to unlock your phone the only solution is reinisialization :/

Its whatever i can do factory reset , but can i backup my files atleast? when i connect my device to PC i can hear the sound that he got connected but nothing more , no folders or atleast icon , that means that device is not fully turned on or smth? no chance to backup?

Alas you can not recover your data the purpose of a lock is to block access to sensitive data in case of stolen for example so that it is impossible to recover anything : /

Thx for all the responses,i really appreciate that,i guess RIP.

i experience the same thing, my galaxy J8 got update this morning and after the phone restart it asked me for the pin, and after i enter "my pin", itu says it is incorrect. this is awful

guys how did it end. I have secure start-up screen in LG G6 after OTA. My regular pit is not working

[Q] HELP! My phone is locked with Android Device Manager and I can't unlock it!

Call me stupid, but I'm really desperate and begging for help! I used the Android Device Manager on my Tab 3 8.0 to remotely lock my phone. So it worked. But when I used the password to unlock the phone that was set earlier on ADM, my phone keeps saying that it is the wrong password.
Fair enough, I actually used my home PC to do the exact same thing. I went to the ADM site and set alphanumeric and numerals only password and still, WRONG PASSWORD!
What can I do?! I restart the phone and then nothing worked!
Hello siva992, put it back into the two new password in the computer I use only four digits, not failed. Remember to use new numbers, not the same as you have before. Good luck.
You should contact them for help as if it's not notes fail.
If no other ways then you have to do a reflash with Odin.

i too had locked my nubia device through android device manager.
it can be bypassed by rebooting into recovery mode and you need to format /data and /cache.
after this restart your phone through recovery mode it may take 5 to 10 minutes to finally show "android is updating your apps " something like this.
this method worked on my nubia mini and i thing technically it might work on every android phone that is capable of booting into recovery mode.
this method would not delete your photos, music, etc.
only contacts and app data will be gone,i am sure that won't be an issue.

Recover data from S8 with broken screen

Hi everyone!
I broke my S8 screen completely by dropping it (the phone is still working, not know if the touch still works).
I want to recover WhatsApp backup folder and DCIM folder (i had no backup service enabled, nor samsung account, nor google photo or gdrive), so i thought to go ahed through ADB. Anyway adb list no devices until i unlock my phone through pattern code ( i had no facial/retina/fingerprint mode set).
So i thought to proceed through download mode, flash twrp through odin and access adb through twrp. Anyway it looks like i cannot use odin to flash until i trigger on "OEM Unlock" in developer options which i can't do no more cause of the broken screen.
Is there another way to enable OEM Unlock which doesn't require touch input? Or is there any other way to recover my two folders?
A big thanks for everyone who could help
You can use an otg adapter and a mouse and try to replicate your pattern code and after your in just transfer your files. If you happen to have a second cell phone I would suggest you practise a bit on that screen first so you can replicate the exact movements to unlock your phone. Had an issue with my s6 edge and that worked like a charm.

If you don't know how to recover data from S8 phone, just use an Android data recovery software, it can help you recover data from an broken Android device, it is really simple to finsih the recovery process. And you can preview and recover the data from your broken phone, so that you don't lose these data.

Log into Samsung Find my mobile. Use your Samsung Account details to log in.
There you will see alot of options that you can perform on your Galaxy S8 remotely.
Use the remotely unlock my device option to unlock your device.
Then connect your phone to the Laptop or PC using data cable and recover the data.
Hope it helps.

I'd do the next:
1. Get an OTG cable and a USB stick. Format the stick to FAT32 and throw any .apk file on it.
2. Download some 4.4.2, say, G900FXXU1ANCE and flash it with Odin.
3. Reboot to recovery and perform a factory reset.
4. Reboot to system and enter Setup Wizard.
5. Connect the OTG cable with USB stick attached. When the phone detects the stick you will see a pop-up window of file explorer.
6. Navigate to your .apk file (from p.1) and tap on it. You don't really need to install it, you only need a security request after your tap.
7. Tap "settings" and voila, you are in the security settings menu now.
8. Navigate to "reactivation lock" and untick it. You'll be asked to enter your Samsung account credentials or to register a new account.
9. Register a new account, log in to it an you'll be able to untick Reactivation Lock and disable it completely.
The trick will work on early 4.4.2 only.

It will work in any case.
There are other ways too.
Yes, a pendrive or something like a USB cardreader with a card, just to connect it as external OTG storage.
You are saying you cannot turn the phone on. What does it mean? What you do and what you see?

1. You should know that the first boot after a factory reset takes a long time, say, up to 15 min. I'd suggest waiting 20 min. and then make a conclusion.
2. If your phone freezes and restarts after a factory reset, it's a good idea to flash a stock ROM. Reactivation lock will not block flashing a stock ROM via Odin.
3. If your phone still behaves abnormally, it's more likely a hw memory problem (rather often for G900), not a reactivation lock problem. Reactivation lock would not prevent the phone from booting.
4. If you still interested in "other methods", have a look at this my thread. It's for SM-G900V and the files will not work for SM-G900F, but there are another files and the main idea will work.
But I'd like to say it again: seems, it's not your case.

2. Where should i find stock ROM? My phone is in Telenor (Norway)
3. Beggining of the problem with my phone was that one day after turning phone on it came to samsung logo and start to scream ( wery loud noise ) and turned itself off. Since then it didnt pass trough samsung logo ever again. Then i started with factory resets and when it didnt help i tried to root it and put new ROM but all was blocked by R/L.

I have tried to put stock ROM and it didnt help. I was not sure which version should i use so i started with first one from the list. Odin says it was succesfull but phone is stopping now with recovery booting welcome page. It takes about one minute and the phone is off. I tried four versions of stock ROM and result is exactly the same.
Phone is not starting at all.
Should i try all versions of stock rom?

Hi,
I don't want to make you afraid but I was facing very similar problem and nothing helped but replacement of phone's motherboard at Samsung service centre -> my eMMc memory got corrupted for some reason.
Hopefully it is not your case but after reading your symptoms I wouldn't be much optimistic.

Any one is enough.
If you flashed a stock rom, performed a factory reset and the phone still restarts it is not a good sympthom.
I think, Many40 is right and it's time for a new motherboard.
There's nothing to be afraid of, it's just about $30 if DIY.
@Many40 @bbsc
Ok so i give up. I realy like this phone so i will give it to service for motherboard replacement since i have no idea how to do it by myself.
Thank you guys for help!
Cheers!

Recovering data from SM-J510FN with forgotten lockscreen PIN

Greetings everyone!
I've stumbled upon a bit of a interesting problem today. I came to visit my cousin living abroad and was asked if I could somehow recover her data from SM-J510FN which she forgot a password for (she wasn't using it after she got a new phone, hence the reason she forgot the PIN ...). Phone is fully stock, (she is not tech savvy) so I believe she didn't even touch developers options (I don't know if USB debugging is on by default) and device has a FAP lock when I booted into download mode *It really does say it in the upper left corner of the screen when booted in DL mode*. So I tried the following:
Tried deleting *.key with ADB (didn't show the device with "adb devices" command)
Flashing TWRP with Odin (failed because of the FAP lock)
I could enter bootloader and update device via ADB sideload/SD card (vol up + home key combo when booting)
Phone is fully stock, I know I could just wipe/factory reset and call it a day, but there must be a way to recover it
Thanks in advance!

[Urgent help] Xiaomi Mi A1 Unlock bootloader

Hi All,
I'm new to this as I'm not an Android developer but a good Android user. Requesting moderator to update anything required.
I've Xiaomi mi A1 and it was working for the last 3 years. Last Sunday, it just got hanged while kids were playing with it(maybe multiple apps/videos/some ad clicked) and it got hanged.
I restarted and it stuck on "Android One" screen till now even after multiple attempts.
What I tried:
1. I tried to wipe/factory reset from the Android recovery option(power off + volume up) then it stuck there saying "Formatting data" and I've restarted it to come back to Android One screen after hours.
2. I tried using MiFlash tool and it continues throwing the error "remote device is locked. cannot erase".
Then I got to know bootloader must be unlocked. and for that:
1. I tried fast boot oem unlock but it just says OK and device reboots. When I check status back, it's again locked .
2.I tried to unlock it using MiFlashUnlock tool but it says not able to find account details as I may have logged in once but probably I may not have used Xiaomi as cloud instead I prefer Google cloud.
You can assume I'v already searched possibly all threads on the internet and added here all possible information.
Attached getvar-all.txt output
Is there anyone on the platform who knows on this issue?
Or it's just a platform of Ads?
oooooof, sounds like a harsh brick from some sort of malware downloaded into the device or your kids diddled with some kernel settings somehow
is your device running on qualcomm snapdragon? i have the fix for it in this site
but first try the update option on the recovery, might fix something

found some fix on a russian website, gonna translate it:
im gonna make a warning there off-script of the russian website, this is NOT guaranteed to work. if it doesnt, send it off for repairs.
what do you need to do this:
1 - fully charge the phone
2 - a working usb cable
3 - a computer with wifi on it (i can tell you have it since you likely posted it on the computer)
4 -you should have Mi flash pro
5 - a recovery image on chinese (WARNING: 1.9 GB, BE PATIENT)
6 - actually working braincells and hands ( you guaranteedly have em)
THE STEPS:
1 - Load in mi flash pro and register in it under your name (not always under your name)
2 - press recovery
3 - you should see a lightning bolt icon along with the IMEI of your device
4 - type in the path of the firmware
even if your device shows your system has been destroyed you can still boot into recovery.
5 - in your device boot into recovery
6 - you see connect with mi assistant? choose that option and confirm it
your device should direct you to connect the usb from your computer to your device
7 - After you setup everything you should see your device, if not, press refresh device, then you should see the flash button, press it
8 - and there begins the magic - wait 5-10 mins for the firmware to initialise, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB FROM YOUR DEVICE AT THIS POINT, IF YOU DO, YOU WILL SCREW IT UP AND HAVE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!
if you dont screw up and your device actually boots congratualtions! the power of xi jing ping has restored your phone to normal with a small drawback - its all in chinese
worry not, it doesnt end here:
9 - Unlock the bootloader AKA Unlock OEM (This is important, because otherwise you will brick yourself again and will have to do it all over again)
10 - boot your device into fast boot and flash the global firmware onto your device (the global firmware can be found on the same xiaomiui website you got the chinese firmware from)
i hope this lengthy guide helps

crud, i forgot the critical part:
it doesnt boot you to the average xiaomi screen, its the A1 model
at this point you need to use the ADB to flash the chinese firmware and unlock the bootloader on the chinese firmware, then flash the global one
though you can still use the same method i typed above
How's the progress so far?
