Arrived today. Seller noted that there is a slight fault with the unit... it charges fine, but still displays the charging light when the cable is unplugged.
Its upgraded to Windows Mobile 6, and I do not have the original ROM, nor the upgrade, so I cannot restore the unit if something goes wrong with it.
Any ideas where to get either WM5 or WM6 ROM, and how to solve the problem with charging?
Other than these problems, the unit works fine.
Please read the forum....

BTW, you have no need to worry about returning it to original specs as there is no warranty on hardware this old (has been out of production for like a year).
any one intrested should read up on the following

Buy the USB is easier no hassle but seems to be great to port to HD2 since its been ported to Nokia device. This is interesting.
i think porting psgroove in hd2 much easier than others android phones because the developers here had porting android before and they know each drivers how it works
the problem now is in the usb controller for each phone is diffrent but at least here they know much more about hd2 usb controller
so i hope to see it soon
Can any one confirm they are looking at or workinging on a port for the HD2
Can confirm that it's being worked on in Android (HD2 will work when the other devices work, only about 7-8 with the right hardware) and 95% likely will happen within days/weeks thanks to the wonderful devs of XDA and the PSGroove source
According to the Official PSFreedom Device compatibility list, HD2 port has been completed.

Hi
I've had a HD2 for about 18 months and over that time I've mostly been running WinMo - stock for a few months then various versions of EnergyROM.
Now I've moved up to Android (HyperDroid-2.0.1 at the moment) which is great except for a small snag - the offical HTC car kit for the HD2 doesn't do fast charge under Android.
The reasons for this are explained in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=825837
What I'd like to know is, what can be done to make this work under Android without modifying the car kit? It works fine on both the stock and modified WinMo ROMs.
I don't have access to one to test but I'm assuming that the stock Desire HD supports this fast charge (it uses the same car kit).
I'm new to Android in general but to me, this suggests that there is something missing from the HD2 kernel because the rest of the Desire HD ROM was used to make the early NAND HD2 ROMs. Is that correct?
Hey guys, I currently have a Droid Turbo and I have an upgrade available that I would like to use. The HTC 10 caught my eye after seeing the huge price of the Google Pixel. I have a few questions:
For unlocking the bootloader, will all I need to do is use SunShine and get S-off?
Once unlocked, I should be good to go for flashing twrp, systemless supersu, and xposed?
Are the only roms available for this device in this forum or can I use roms from the regular HTC 10 forum as well?
How is the battery life on this phone? I'm used to long lasting battery from the Turbo but I have many chargers as well.
This is all really that I can think of right now. I hope to possibly go to the verizon store tomorrow and check it out/upgrade to it. Thanks all!
I have these same questions to, I currently have a S7 Edge and I can't stand the software for it anymore, the hardware is amazing but the software holds it back

1. Sunshine works on all variants of the HTC 10, including Verizon.
2. Yes; I have TWRP, systemless-root (phh's version, NOT SuperSU), using Magisk and Magisk's systemless Xposed without issues.
3. Yes, you can use ROMs from either forum --- make sure you use the correct firmware, though.
4. Excellent, and with QC3 it's easy to top off.

I too just came from a Droid Turbo to the HTC 10. It's a very nice upgrade. In answer to your questions,
1) All you need is SunShine. It works just fine.
2) Flashing TWRP, SuperSU, xposed, etc is possible, though you're somewhat hindered by Marshmallow's new security features when it comes to xposed. My advice is if you absolutely don't need su or xposed, it's not worth the headache.
3)Aside from the roms on this forum, there's also LeeDrOiD. I'm running the latest OTA bone stock with tethering enabled and it's good enough for me. Plus I've always found that running stock seems to be the most stable for me.
4) Battery life compared to the Droid Turbo is similar, though I would say the Turbo's battery life is just slightly better, but it isn't enough to cause any regrets.
The big difference is that you'll need additional USB C cables if you're used to using multiple micro usb cables. I grabbed a 3 pack of the usb c to micro usb adapters that I should be getting today, since it was cheaper than buying new cables.
I've only had the HTC 10 for 3 days, while I used the Turbo for roughly a year. There's some things that you might miss moving to the 10, such as the proximity wake, but you'll get used to pushing the power button. If you liked the Google dialer with the Turbo, you'll have to get used to the HTC dialer, though dialing numbers via google voice search still works, as long as you set it to the default vs. HTC Speak. There are patched zips of the GPE dialer for the HTC 10, but they weren't 100% functional.
What you won't miss is the feedback from the headphone jack when the phone is charging. The Turbo was the 2nd Moto smart phone I owned, and both had this problem. It sucked to always hear static and feedback while listening to audio in the car and charging at the same time. The HTC 10 doesn't seem to have that issue whatsoever. The 10 is significantly faster, and 4G is probably 20% faster than it was on the Turbo. What you also will get is a phone that isn't abandoned by vzw when it comes to updates. At this point, I doubt the Turbo will ever see an official MM upgrade, while Nougat is already being tested for the HTC 10 on Verizon.

Thanks for the very informative reply! I was unlocked within 10 minutes of being home with it and immediately installed leedroid. I had some very annoying problems with getting Snapchat and root/Xposed to play together but it's been smooth sailing now. I love this phone, it's quite fast and the camera is a huge upgrade from the turbo. I have never had the feedback issue though, not even heard of it to be honest. I always ran music through Bluetooth in the car so that could be why. I do miss very dearly the wave to wake and chop chop features but oh well. Overall this is a great upgrade over the turbo.
Be Careful With the USB-C Adaptors

I, too, purchased the adapters, and they work very well. However, I also noticed, the extra length they give to the hookup creates a LOT of leverage and force on the phone's internal connector. I will keep the adapters for emergency situations, but I recommend getting actual USB-C cables. I don't know if it's P/C to recommend a brand here on XDA, but I really like the Volutz braided cables available on Amazon.

Hijacking the thread as I'm looking to purchase a HTC 10 of swappa
- Is the Verizon version able to be used on GSM networks with a GSM SIM card? I'm traveling to Dubai for work and wondering if I can get a local SIM card and throwing it in the phone. I also plan to s-off/root the phone as soon as I get it and throw on a custom ROM.
- I currently have a LG G3 with a Micro SIM and unlimited data. Can I cut down the Micro SIM to Nano SIM and everything will be cool once I put it in the HTC 10? Even after I s-off/root or temporarily throw a GSM SIM in the phone?
Thanks for the help!

You can s-off a Verizon model via sunshine and convert it to us unlocked which should work fine.
