Modifying Tablet for Drone App - Android Drones General & Development

Hi everyone,
I've just received a Nexus 7 2013 32gb tablet running Marshmallow 6.0.1 specifically for running my new Drone via the DJI Go 4 App .
This tablet/app then connects to the drones controller to receive the DJI Mavic Pro video stream and also switch on certain smart modes etc.
What I would like to do is strip the tablet of most apps to try to optimize it just for this app. Currently the tablet is classed as a recommended device though the video stream has broken up a bit while flying and this caused the app to crash.
Could anyone recommend a rom that would be good for this?
If it doesn't make any difference I will just revert back to the standard 6.0.1 rom it is currently running.
Thanks
Mark

Miracast on Nexus 4 with ptv300: Any lag?

Hey guys,
My Nexus4 is currently getting shipped to me and one of the main features I was planning to use is Miracast. According to many other members, there was a new update for the ptv300 that fixed the wireless display issue when connected to the N4. For the people that have a working set up, does full 1080p video stream perfectly (i.e. no lag) to the HDTV via Miracast? Also, is the sound routed to the tv too? Are there any delays in terms of the sound? I want to be able to watch youtube videos + netflix on my hdtv without any lag.
Thanks, and any help is appreciated.

The latest firmware is 2.2.2 (not official and just beta testing) and it is working with my Nexus 4. The video and audio can "mirror" to TV through PTV3000 box. I do not feel much lag and it is acceptable. Netgear will continue to develop the firmware and will release official firmware early in 2013.
Works great, if you have a good WiFi connection and not much interference. I used it at home it was smooth and acceptable. Not quite as fast as my fiances iPad on Apple tv, but defiantly a step in the right direction. However it was horrible when I tried it at work, the WiFi doesn't have much of a backbone and failed to preform at all if I tried to changed the devices orientation at home it was almost instant but at work it too 7-12 seconds for it to catch up and it was super grainy.

[Q] Nexus 7 to TV question

HI guys,
I just wanna know, how can i connect my device to tv?
Is there wired connection? what about wireless connection?
What are the things i need?
For example, my tv is Samsung LED Series 5?
What are the things i can do after connecting:
- can i access my device as a storage device?
- can i play a movie to my device and have it displayed in my tv?
Thanks in advance
With the app Mediahouse (pro) you can stream movies from your tablet to you tv (netwerk).
you can choose to stream content to your tablet of from your tablet to your tv (if i'm correct)
New or old n7? This is easily found anywhere online. Old n7 can't mirror it's screen to the TV except with a mod for miracast (this mod is new). This mod doesn't work on 4.3 yet and requires supported hardware on the TV too.
What does work is dnla or upnp, which sends local media to the TV - movies, music, photos that are stored locally not streamed. Many apps support this and lots of hardware does too.
New n7, you can use slim port cable to mirror the screen
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
I have the old one, there is no something like adapter, converter, cable that can connect the device to the tv? i cant seem to find any on mr. google, and yeah i saw that the new nexus 7 is capable of that, thanks
Chromecast may solve your problem if you can get your hands on one.

Tv box rom for i9505

Hello, im wondering if anyone can point me in a direction of what I would like to do.
I have a Galaxy S4 GT-i9505 with broken touch which is currently set up with custom rom and root and various apks, pkugged in to my tv in the bedroom via mhl. This works extremely well as is a quad core phone I get much better performance than I do with the Amazon fire stick.
Now the apps ive used along with the custom rom basically put the screen to sleep and allow me to watch Netflix/Kodi very well, without any battery drain.
Im using various apps to control this and alter screen orientation when needed, using a fire tv Bluetooth controller.
Now this set up doesnt come without problems, which ill not go into in length but point out the main issues id either like to be fixed or gone with a different rom.
First, is there any android tv box/stick rom that is compatable with i9505? Even like a fire tv port or similar?
If not is there any way I can get the TV type apps to recognise fully the Bluetooth fire tv remote im using?
Is there anyway to make the apps im using run as if they were on an android tv box/stick?
I realise this is quite a strange setup/request but id like to know if anyone has any ideas on the topic.
1 thing to know, the rom im using has power options to draw more ma while plugged into mhl (700ma), this stops the battery drain.
Thanks for any pointers/advice in advance.

Drone and thl 9 pro

Hi, since ages I’m back to this beautiful forum.
I’ll try to be most short and concise as possible:
I bought a Dji Spark and really love it. To be able to still use my phone while flying, I bought a THL 9 PRO only to use the drone app, which is Dji go 4.
I connect Spark and Thl via OTG cable, in order to have a stable video downstream and maybe save some phone battery. Notwithstanding this, sometimes the Dji go 4 app is not so responsive and I experience some lag in video feed and in sending commands. I think colud be also due to THL rom, which maybe has some bloatware or loads tons of unuseful (for me) services. The point is: do you know if is available a “light” rom I can flash, with only basic services (wifi and 4g for gps exchange data), so maybe the phone working in background is not overloaded and the Dji go 4 app will work as intended?
Any hint will be appreciated.

[Q] Nexus 7 2012 Grouper with usb-tethering for spacedesk app

Hi everyone.
I've recently found a new use for my 2012 wifi Nexus 7 as a secondary monitor on Windows. I have it standing below my main monitor running streams or videos while gaming or browsing. Right now I'm using spacedesk over wifi. It does work but often times isn't very smooth. Supposedly, running spacedesk via usb-tethering should improve performance and it wouldn't tax my shared apartment's wifi. I don't care about any other functions besides usb-tethering and the ability to run spacedesk.
I've tried teaching myself about modding but I just remained absolutely clueless. I can flash ROMs but that's about it. Even for ADB stuff i would need foolproof instructions.
I'm currently using AOSP 7.x (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...2-wifi-3g-f2fs-ext4-android-7-x-aosp.3467514/). It shows a usb-tethering option which has no effect on Windows or spacedesk. I've also tried a reverse tethering app on it which gave the Nexus 7 internet over usb but still no connection over spacedesk.
I've also tried cm 10.1 provided by skyline159 in https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...er-on-jelly-bean.1879660/page-3#post-36986587 without success. Wired tether 1.4 responded with an unsupported Kernel if I remember correctly.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...er-on-jelly-bean.1879660/page-3#post-47949482 sounds promising but I don't know about the root shell or whether his method works for windows aswell.
Any help would be appreciated.
On a side note:
I also tried doing it the other way around. Running youtube or twitch on the Nexus while sending the sound to my computer via AirAudio. That gave me an annoying 1.5 second delay that ruined the whole experience. It's also less convenient than PC->Nexus.
I also can't use the Nexus' audio port because it has an awful quality due to its age I suppose.
