Retrieving location and wifi data from S7 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi
Is there a way of retrieving data from my S7? I particularly need location and wifi, dates location and times.
So for example, can I get the time that my phone disconnected from my home Wifi? And its location (i've got a bit from Google navigation) with time stamps.
I've basically been accused of something that i didn't do and I want to be able to prove where I was and at what time using data from my phone.
Phone is a standard S7, not unlocked in anyway on EE in UK.
Thanks

Hi thanks, yes got that.

wrong currency

I went into the play store today and found that everything is in pounds and magazines and shows are missing... I think my nexus 7 thinks I am in UK, but I am actually in USA. I phone (on the same gmail account) however displays the store correctly.
Anyway to fix this? Tnx
This problem gave me enough motivation to finally unlock and root my device. When that didn't work I downloaded the market unlocker app, which did its thing, and says that my market is set to usa(verizon), yet I still see pounds and no magazines or shows...
I am really lost now, I was sure that a reset would fix this
Check your Google account on the Internet and change the default language from there.

The language is set to English (United States). But just to be sure I changed it and changed it back, the problem still persists (and as I said my phone still has the US market)
Before I did the reset I also checked all my location settings, they were all either automatic (in which case I tried manually changing to US), or set to US.

Odd. I'm not sure what could be causing that issue. I wonder if turning the GPS on would change anything. Maybe clear all data pertaining to the Play Store, disable the Play Store, reboot, enable the Play Store?

Tried all that before
I just noticed, after reseting my time was automatically set to British Summer time (changed it but no effect on the store). How does this thing even determine that, GPS some WiFi way? The map app shows me correctly, in Florida...could it be that something went wrong with my router, and it now serves the queen?

I purchased a nexus 7 today at an Office Depot in the USA and have the same problem. Were you able to get this resolved?
I contacted Google support and awaiting to hear back.

I also have the same problem, i have my overseas sim card attched to my tablet and the currency is based on the sim card that I used overseas, check your sim or if you're still in roaming. i changed my sim to the country where im now and the currency changed.
Cheers!
I had this same issue and figured out that it only occurs when I am connected to my company WiFi. Apparently we are routing through the UK for some reason, from AZ! Both my tablets have this issue as they are on the company WifFi and when I connect my phone to the WiFi it gets changed as well. Very odd.
Thank You!!!!!!

After spending some uncomfortable hours very early this mourning thinking that both my phone and tablet had been breached, I found your post. Thank you for sharing.... kept me from hitting the panic button full-on since I had also checked Google Play via the web browser on my tablet and there the currency was correct. (Sidebar: Husband had been having issues a few hours earlier accessing WSJ and Linked in on his computer as well.) Took my phone off WiFi and put it on 4G and voila! - Google Play returned to normal with the correct currency and offerings. A call to our ISP during biz hours confirmed that they has made a switch due to their own server issues and once their servers were back up, we'd be back to normal.
Who'd have thought it could be something like where the router is looking at for data?! Thanks again!

BT OpenZone WiFi

Hi, I know this is wierd but I just noticed my phone contract has
1GB BT OpenZone WiFi bundled with it, if I bought a N7 and wanted to take it out with me, could I login to WiFI BT Openzones using the N7?
Therefor making it even more portable?
As it doesnt have 3G etc.
Being a BT infinity customer i also get free hot spots and my nexus 7 logs in automatically the only downside is finding one

Cheers for the response, its bundled with Vodaphone contract, would I still be able to use it on my Nexus7?
I don't see why not you have to register for a BT wifi account im not sure how you do that with a phone contract bundle but once you've made one you use that to login to your hot spot there's an app that will do that automatically for you

Are you serious? If you don't mind my asking, where in the country do you live? There are literally thousands of them down south. BT Fon/Openzone is brilliant, being a BT Customer I get free unlimited access just logging in with my BT E-mail address.

To be fair they are everywhere.
But no one (not even voda) will tell me how to access it.
I get access to this as well as it is bundled in with my Vodafone contract on my work phone.
I have actually used at John Lewis, Oxford Circus in london.
To get it two work you need the following:
1) A vodafone acount login (Same one you use to manage your account on the vodafone site).
2) Your Plan has to have the WIFI hotspost access bundled\enabled on it.
3) A Bt Openzone Hotspot that Supports vodafone Users.
3 is a PITA as not all BT Openzone Hotspots are accessible to vodafone WIFI enabled customers.
To see if it has access, the hotspot login splash page will have a selection dropdown to choose your user type e.g. vodafone user once connected.
Vodafone enabled hotspots can be found using the my vodafone app.
Useful when near one, but I find I usually just tether to the phone or with my MiFi unit.

Hi mate, just had a huge convo with someone from Voda
From what I gathered it has to be used on the device that your sim card is slotted into, which means no using it for my Nexus 7
What a useless "Perk" as im already paying for data?

I am in Kent and I do have an issue finding them unless I'm near the centre of places like London but if im in residential areas it kinda sucks if I do find a hot spot its normally just inchs in range so I'm better off tethering my phone but it's no big deal its handy to have in star bucks or whatever

Moto eating through my data

Peeps
My Moto x Style is churning through my data.
Checking in my settings, under data usage my device is saying it has used only 1.78GB in 15 days. But when i check my Vodafone app, it is saying that I have used 10.8GB.
Not sure what is using it.
I do have background data turned on. Could this be using it. Never had issues before with my other Android device.
Anyone got any pointers. Thanks
Sent from my XT1572 using Tapatalk
Are you on a shared plan or anything? Are you sure that you don't have 10.8GB left?
Not on a shared plan. Called Vodafone and they confirmed my usage so far.

pr0nhub. it's always the culprit.
my usage demon has been exchange server... i used 7 gigs in 12 days... I dont like the Gmail intergrated exchange setting its too vague... only lets me max of 1 hour.... I turned off cellular background data for exchange and it is back to normal

Just so that I'm clear. You did a Factory Data Reset in the Settings menu? Not a Reset Network Settings?
I'm experiencing the same issue with my S7 Edge.
Thank you,

Help
Can one of you send me a unroot
odin with home.csc so i can get hotspot again pls
I rooted PG1 and had the same issue. Miss Wifi Hotspot completely no icon not in settings. I unrooted and made sure tethering was install in my stock rum. Re-rooted after getting pass the auto activation process. I check to see if tethering stucked n yes it was. Fixed.. root unroot until it sticks

One more think i did do the home.csc but didn't work for me.
I've found the cause of this. When you disable or turn off security policy updates under lockscreen and security, it will stay indefinetly.
Yeah, I finally found out from some techs that they lo-key removed the hotspot in an update because they claim that it causes the phone to overheat.

Sound / Settings Profiles by Time

Hi all,
Are there any settings hidden deep within, or apps you would recommend to schedule sound profiles?
For example, between 9 - 5, half ringtone volume, turn on wifi etc.
Thanks!
With root you have tasker or llama
Envoyé de mon SM-G935F en utilisant Tapatalk
I don't want to trip Knox by rooting my S7 while it's still in warrenty
You don't need root to use Tasker for those functions

I use sound profile, from the market it's great, get home, connects to Wi-Fi, turns off Bluetooth, lowers ring volume, leave home, Wi-Fi disconnected, turns on Bluetooth when I get in the car, get to work, connects to work Wi-Fi, turns off Bluetooth, sets ringtone to loud, it's a great app, well worth a try.

Strange. I have it on my OPO - CyanogenOS built-in, called System Profiles. Maybe its only on CMOS and not Marshmallow!
