No development towards this device.. it is a mediatek device..
You have to be bit patient as I think it takes time to work out something for this device.
Thanks

Any 10.1 Devs willing to help out the 7.0 Plus forum? We're hurting on dev and could really use some of you. Anyone?

Most devs don't develop for a device they don't own.. Maybe start a thread in the 7.0 Plus area asking if someone has one to donate and / or raise cash to buy a dev one..
We are pretty lucky with the 10.1 as we have some of the best devs on XDA here..
I know a few devs were tempted by the 7 Plus (an Exynos Tab? Sounds great! At least at first) but then were turned off by the AR6000 driver source code fiasco.
A closed-source binary module that has been identified to be the root of documented stability problems for a device is a developer's nightmare, and a great way to completely kill its desirability for a developer.
I was considering the 7 Plus, but the AR6000 driver mess made me decide to wait for a device that Samsung didn't **** up.
Not like I'd be much benefit - you already have a very good kernel developer and I've given him a whole pile of pointers.

Greatly appreciate your help. I personally own a 10.1 but purchased a 7+ as well for a custom vehicle install.
I understand DEV's don't normally dev on a device they don't have. But it does happen...quite a bit on some devices. Just trying to wrussle up some love is all.
Thank guys
The ability to do blind development is highly dependent on how similar a device is to one the developer owns.
For example, I finally started blind developing I9100 kernels because the difference is incredibly small and you can compile for both I9100 and I777 with just one defconfig change.
The Tab 7 Plus is completely and totally different from anything else out there, and the presence of closed-source modules makes blind development nearly impossible even if there were similar hardware.

This is going to make the custom ROM scene for this line of phones, if it ever exists, a nightmare. And it's the exact reason why I just may not purchase this phone now. Who in their right mind is going to make ROMs to support the 8000000 versions of the Zenfone 2 (if the right things even happen to allow it)?
I know right. Some many Models its hard to keep up with them. I'm sticking with the Intel version, because its just a repeat of the first generation of the ZenFones and the Intel version overpowers the Snapdragon 410 and 615. I just hope we get an unlocked bootloader and Official Root.

this is madness..and yet they still didnt unlock bootloader for ze551ml and keep releasing newer model..but the i am most disappointed by asus for they support on lollipop, android OS is acting like crazy on this android 5.0r2..they should focus on improving this intel version first before they get blamed by older users..

Intel powered Zenfone 2's will still continue to be Flagships. The newer Versions, i.e. Selfie, Zenfone 3 and these New Snapdragons are no competition to our device. Asus is lagging in updates. It should have fixed the battery issues by now. Asus must give users an option to Install stock AOSP on our devices. ZenUi might be great, it is also heavy on system resources and battery.
its simply like the exynos vs snapdragon time of the samsung series.. no biggie.

Well actually from what I seen.. all four ZE551ML variants (2gb z3560, 4gb z3560, 4gb z3580 32gb, 4gb z3580 4gb) have single rom and ZE550ML have separate rom...so i dont think there will be a problem...
The model numbers surely will confuse lots of users, ZE500ML is Intel and ZE500KL is Snapdragon, I predict lots of hard bricks...

Well that's good to know. I am still now leaning towards getting a used LG G3. A lot less confusion there to say the least, and I will get it for less than $300, so win-win in those two aspects.

But its a fully functional root. I know that because I've already started screwing up my phone
I may just have to give it a try

Hi everyone,
I currently found an AOSP 6.0 Marshmallow port for the OnePlus One. I'm a slight new to this but im ready and willing to learn how to do all of this from source. The OnePlus One has the same chipset, cpu, and gpu so it shouldnt be impossible to get this up and running. Anyone interested in contributing to the cause pm me or post on this thread .
Once I am interested in such things , but later I found it is too hard and lack of info :<

Well its all plain experience and trying and trying over and over till it works. Its quite a lot of work its possible just to wait for everything to happen from the cm team but thats really gonna take a while and im sure with enough knowledge and enough hard workers its possible to pull it off. Especially since a device with near the same hardware has marshmallow ported

Well he was probably trying to kang port it. You need to build it from the source. Port the kernel from source and the same with the source for the rom itself. Its not easy but it can be done. I may give it a go myself even if no one can help or wants to.
With the bootloader unlocked and the device rooted now thanks to the work of some amazing people, what are the odds we might see a custom rom for it as well?
You ever find one?
I am also searching, I don't believe many people are developing for this device
Nobody cares enough to create a custom ROM for the P027.
I hope someone finds it worth their time, I really want to have an Oreo rom on it...
they haven't sold enough of them to worth the hassle of developing a rom for mediatek. SAD. As to the answer from asus and Oreo ;
NO more updates are planned for this device 3s 10 , p027

So this thing is effectively dead?
I think it was dead before they even shipped it. I wish they had done a few updates at least....Maybe fixed the horrible stylus compatibility. Even their own pen sucks on this device. At least I wasn't out a lot of money on it. I went back to my NotePRO 12.2.
I am an unfortunate owner of a Zenfone Max Plus. I think this device does not have a dedicated topic here on xda. Can Max Pro's root methods be used on Max Plus as well?
If you want an expensive paperweight, go right ahead!
I was worried about this
I think this device has no salvation at all. And it seems that no one is interested in carrying anything to him.
Thanks for the info.

Bought the phone on prime day cheap for $150 but haven't found anything for it yet,the Max Pro on the other hand has people looking out for it.I think it has to do with the Plus having a mediatek chip that makes roms harder to be built for it.As most roms are snapdragon correlated.I could be wrong.I've thought of porting twrp over for this device myself and read the guides. If you want I can try porting it and maybe you can test it first? Also read some guides on how to port roms for mediatek chips,we need to find a similar device with the same chip a hopefully same screen size as well that has a custom rom for the greatest chance of porting a rom.I'm not sure it's doable but I can look into it.Anyways I'm probably going to try to port twrp at least and maybe you can be a tester? As for root I think magisk will work just need to first port twrp.
