knox reset - Galaxy Note5 General

There claims to be a app that can reset our knox counter but it doesn't come cheap. I am seeing if anyone has tried or thinks this is the real deal or not.

try download the APK From external site then buy the product so you can guarantee you will get your refund if it doesn't..
The owner claims it works only on lolipop at the moment .

I saw this somewhere on Samsung's developer page for the Note4 where the term "e-fuse" and "EPROM" (not EEPROM) were used in the same sentence. The site obviously was Korean, and it was so long ago that I can't recall where I saw it. I'm convinced that it is hardware and not something reversible like a locked-bootloader where Samsung can release an updated bootloader that is unlocked.

So Charges $29.99 for an app that does literally nothing, then have to email the developer and wait 48+ hours for the actual app, lose the ability to use Googles refund policy, claims it takes so long for the actual app because their flooded with requests when there's less than 100 downloads..... some one please let us know how that goes lol

Google can't test every app. This is an example of how poisoned apps even make their way into the store in the first place.

The developer says "Samsung pay WILL NOT WORK". It's some kind of soft trick?..

Not sure. Some people said it worked for them.

Once Samsung Pay will not work, then it can't be a REAL reset.
That sounds like a soft-trick as you said.

I agree that all SCAMs should be removed without any further explanation needed.
I'd also like to see some of the other garbage apps removed as well

There is no way yet available. The only way is to replace the main board. That's why I replaced the board from Samsung. Its very costly.

The same way you got your first one, I believe. I'm fairly sure you'll have to reload all your sideloaded apps too.
That being said, I don't think there's been any official word on this, and since it hasn't been out for a month I don't think anyone knows for sure.
Developer licenses are renewable, yes. You'll have to repeat the Show-WindowsDeveloperLicenseRegistration step, but it only takes a few seconds.

There is some stuff online about Microsoft revoking your dev license if you abuse it. Not sure what constitutes abuse, though.

The terms of service explicitly notes that using it to pirate apps is grounds for revocation, but that was the only thing I saw that definitely constituted abuse. They may have other qualifiers too. It also says that they can (and do) send info on whatever you sign to Microsoft, which I'm not sure if I like or not. I can see why they're doing it, but it still feels wrong to have them looking at what you're doing in such a manner.

Sprint Does Bloatware Right

I really like how Sprint installs the vast majority of a device's bloatware after you set up the device. It means you can simply uninstall it and it's actually gone. It's not just disabled or frozen. I understand the business reasons behind bloatware and of course I'd prefer it not be there at all. That said, since it isn't going away, I wish all carriers would adopt Sprint's method rather than cluttering up the system partition with it. Thoughts?
Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
Agreed. I've been with them awhile now and they are really easing up on it recently.
I guess this helps them get the product out faster since they don't need to bake these programs in the ROM anymore.
The most recent update I received (I've had like 3 of them already) pushed the additional bloatware, but when I try to uninstall it, it doesn't give the option. Can't wait until we can root this thing.

We can, the T Mob version works, but I would proceed with caution afterwards since we don't have a ROM image to flash if things go south.
I've just been tweaking stuff... Until I can actually remove it and not worry.
I was able to uninstall everything except Lookout, Sprint ID, and Sprint Zone. We are talking about all the extra apps installed by Sprint. This doesn't apply to the additional Samsung apps.

Just the same as carrier branding on sprints phones... there is little to none. I like it that way. I dont go walking down the street, see someone with a huge wart of a verizon logo on the phone and say to myself, "im getting Verizon". Its rediculous that carriers have to put their big old stamp on otherwise beutiful hardware. Same goes for software. I dont see the point in 20 apps that simply take you to the carriers website. Sprint has its share of bloat but its not nearly as bad as others.
Agreed. When it comes to bloatware, AT&T is by far the worst. I owned their Galaxy S5 and there were 17 apps that were specifically installed by AT&T. They even preinstall an app called ReadyToGo which replaces the standard welcome/setup screen (when you turn the device on for the first time) with one that's got AT&T's brand all over it. That's just obscene.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
I'm shocked at the lack of "bloat" on this phone. Almost all the Sprint apps are easily uninstalled, but what gets me is the lack of Samsung apps. First time ever I don't have a Samsung folder full of their apps. I actually opened Galaxy App and installed a few just to see whats going on..........

You neither could nor would want to install the att firmware on your device.
If it could and you somehow managed to flash the bootloader you would end up with a locked device forever.
Flashing the system.img is possible, but why when the MM software is already available for your device?

Instead of messing with the SM-T817A ROM, I'll probably just pick up a tablet from AT&T.

won't find the update
I've tried doing the update OTA and it hasn't found it yet.
I've tried to do it through KIES and it says that this device is supported by Smartswitch and won't let me do it that way.
I want to do it through Odin, but I cannot find the update file.
Does anyone have a link or copy of the rom so I can get mine updated?
Thanks!
After talking with AT&T, the only way to update this tablet without AT&T service is to go to Best Buy and have them push it for you manually. Alternatively, you can call Samsung @800 726 7864 and they have a way to push it from the cloud or something.
Yes, old thread, but this tablet is STILL the bomb and many people are buying them used off of eBay only to find the last owner never bothered to update to Marshmallow.

They did not opt out because i been getting text messages from sprint telling me that samsung is going to push the update and i should return my phone. My fear is that before the S8 or N8 comes out that Sprint will end up blacklisting the IEMI and just cut service to the phones. Everyone keeps saying they wont do this they wont do that then they do so best bet is at some point they are going to cut network service. And some of you saying you talk to a sprint rep. Please guys what do they know. You really think some rep who answers calls and sells phones or helps you when you need an extesion to pay your bills. Since the start one person says one thing then another. Like i said best bet is blacklisted at some point.

I originally posted that. Let me clarify: Sprint will not blacklist any IMEI's on Note 7's. Which means that you can continue using your phone on the Sprint Network as long as it is on.
But Sprint will still send out the "kill" update to encourage people to return their devices. The kill update will disable Note 7's ability to be used as a mobile device. But if your phone doesn't get updated, you can still use it.
If you block Samsung updates, then you can still use it on the Sprint network indefinitely.

So I contacted Samsung and with no surprise was just told Samsung is always updating firmwarer to enhance your experience. They could not state whether the same changes would come to the unlocked version. So I have 15 days to determine whether to return the unlocked one and figure out what this may make me do with the verizon version. I might be able to tolerate it but I am tired of paying large sums of money and having no control or say on what is added or removed from my device. I don't rant much but the idea of sneaking in some little change without noting it in update descriptions is not good business practice.

Sadly, I think the navbar color limitation will come to all models. I think they're doing this to try and reduce burn in. The color choice is so mild/mixed that it won't tax the pixels to as much of a total on/off state. It keeps them in line with the rest of the screen use. That's my theory anyway.

I'm noticing since the update and possibly since the "Samsung Always on update" my Verizon S8+ seems to be warm in the back of the phone. The phone just seems to stay warm. My cpu temperature with no activity and the phone in my pocket is a constant 39.9-40.4 . I do use the "always on display", but can never ever remember my phone being warm all the time like that when I pull it out of my pocket. Strangely enough when removed from my pocket and in use the phone starts feeling cooler, cpu temperature at first going to 44.2, but with more use going down to 40.2. I've always had the setting to keep the screen off when the phone is in my pocket enabled.
Anyone else experiencing this ?

I don't rant much but the idea of sneaking in some little change without noting it in update descriptions is not good business practice.

Good luck with the return. I tried to return my phone and ended up with nothing but lip service. I called four different times and was told four different times that a return shipping label would be e-mailed to me within five business days. Well....that was a month ago and I'm still waiting for that e-mail!!
