After initial setup i noticed that service is going crazy for me. Phone info showing preferred network mode as Unknown despite i set one. Rebooting won't fix it. It's re-enabling like crazy.
Does your phone has lte800?

So, I pick up my phone and it says I have no service after that it starts to lag a little bit and then a bunch of errors telling me force close a bunch of apps. After all that I can finally navigate my phone, I try settings>wireless devices (settings , i forgot what it was called) and I getting a force close error same thing with other areas of my phone. I can still turn on Wifi but no GPS or Cellular signal. Never tried anything funky on my phone. In process of doing a factory reset.
check if you can browse the internet, if you can then this sounds very similar to what happened to me.
give this a try - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=579606
I fixed it with a factory reset, but Ill give your recommendation a try next time.
I'm having trouble with my data connection as it keeps turning off. One minute, I'll be sitting there with H/3G and the next I look up and my connection is gone. I'll have to go into the Comm Manager and turn it back on. Also, when I reboot the phone, I always have to turn the data connection back on. I don't think I have any 3rd party apps that would be causing this.
Anyone have a clue what might be causing this? Oh, I'm running Elegancia if that matters.
Thanks in advance!!!
I just installed the Kumar ROM and am having the same problem....
1 - Phone will show an "H" for the data but no connection
2 - Can't turn off wi-fi
Hosed..
edit - after a few hard boots it appears I am connecting to the internet for now!
my phone is stock and does this also. very annoying.
Bumping. i have the same problem. is this has something to do with "power save on" option in B&B tweakes or "disconnect after 30seconds inactivity"?
any thoughts?
I was having this issue with the stock TmoUS rom so I decided to finally face the fact that I would have to HSPL and go with another rom (Kumar)
...and its still happening
I notice that it only happens at home when I am connected to my wifi network...my phone will show either an H or an E one moment...then I look again and only have the (Y) antenna signal. It will not restore itself for nothing when this happens, I have to open the Comm manager and toggle the data back on.
When im not at home and have the wifi toggled off and running on pure tmobile data service, I have no issues with losing it...
Mine was doing that but after a few hard resets, it no longer does...
I'm on the bus right now and something similar just happened ,while browsing this site a screen just popped up saying data connection error, check settings and if the problem persists reboot your phone. when i went into comm manager data connection was off andwhen i try to turn it on it gives me the same message so i reboot and so far its working good
this problem is now happening all the time for me,anytime im on the internet, marketplace, wallpaper app etc... the data connection drops and i have to go into the comm manager and turn it on. does anybody have suggestions on how to fix this,im on the stock rom and dont feel like changing it yet.
If you're in the United States there is a known problem with the HD2 and the T-Mobile network. I called T-Mobile last week complaining about my bizzare data connections problem and the chic said it is a known issue. She then knocked the cost of my data plan off my bill and apologized for the inconvenience, sadly she couldnt tell me when the issue was going to be corrected. I've switched back to my G1 and haven't had a network issue since.
Hi!
I feel like i searched nearly the whole internet for an answer, but only very few people seem to have these problems so i found nothing that could help me...
I have 3 really annoying bugs on my Play (locked, not rooted, bought in may):
- It randomly reboots from time to time. I tried to figure out when it happens but it has absolutly no relation to what i do with it. it mostly happens when i'm not using it. so it just lies around doing nothing and suddenly i see the sony ericcson logo on the sreen and it reboots...
- The second bug is: it throws me back to the enter PIN screen. like i never entered the PIN it kills wlan, mobile network etc and waits until i reenter the PIN...
- Third is: the clock stops at random times. it seems that this happens sometimes while in flight mode (i always put it in flight mode during the night because i don't want to be disturbed while sleeping and i use the alarmclock).
I already tried to turn off the automatic time via internet because i thought "perhaps it is irritated when internet is no longer available and then it just stops".
But it also happend while in normal mode with wlan on. in that case the clock only stops for a few minutes and then resumes, resulting in a 5 minutes or so difference to the real time without the phone noticing it (even with automatic time turned on)
I don't expect, that anyone can help me fix this, but it would be interesting to know if anybody else experienced these bugs and if you think its hardware or software related.
I already tried getting a warranty replacement. I sent the phone back to amazon, but they have an own mobile phone repair department and, surprise, none of the bugs occured while they tested it. So i got it back with: Sorry nothing found phone works fine....
I would be glad for any sort of advice.
I'm experiencing the random reboots. I believe it has something to do with a software issue on the Sony end. I'm about to check their site now. I'll report back if i find anything.
EDIT: Just finished a chat support session, and in his official capacity he instructed me to either take it to Verizon, or to ship it to their evaluation/repair center. Big load of help. :\

Can you please PM me with more details on your random reboots? I'd be interested to know what applications you were running at the time, signal strength, battery level, and any other details that could help me troubleshoot your issue.
Last night I went into Service Mode on my SGH-T889 and as soon as Service Mode opened, my 4G icon disappeared and then kept cutting on and off. I didn't even change any of the settings in Service Mode, I just left it as it was and rebooted. Now, after multiple restarts, re-entering the APN settings, and a hard reset, I'm still having this problem.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Were you able to correct it, and if so, how? I have been searching all day but can't find a fix. I can still make and receive calls and texts, just can't stay connected steadily to use my internet connection. I am not rooted and I am using a Simple Mobile SIM card, running Android 4.3.

you more than likely change something unknowingly...
i did that once back in the day, with 'auto-answer mode'... Lol
didn't know why calls wouldn't come through for the longest time, then with enough playing around in service-mode, i found the option and changed it back. Lol
I'm unsure as to if there is a way to change all those settings back to default...
maybe the samsung flash tool would have something for this...
Personally, i would peek around in service mode, and try to deduct from the available options as to what might have changed, based on how comfortable you are with the options though, that might not be a good idea... google is a helper.
all else fails, if you can't use any warranty services for the device, they checking in the phone-specific forum and seeing if someone with the same/similar device can post their settings relative to the mobile network.
good luck

Is this a signal issue? I had MMS issues from before. I decided to do a factory data reset. Then this signal/wifi combo on the top right showed up in the photo listed on imgur. Or is this a bug? My wifi has been bad recently to add to it. No download booster or dev settings for aggressive handoff either. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
I noticed this on the first day I had my device (Wifi and LTE active at same time). Thereafter it went away. It may be that, on initial boot (or after factory reset), phone is communicating with network to send device info and status (IMEI, etc) to TMo. Once that's done, the simultaneous icons stop. Just a theory.
It comes and goes for me. I did two resets because of a phone dialer issue after using package disable pro.
you might want to chill on that PDP for now, until you get things sorted.
I've also seen the LTE icon pop-up on occasion while on WiFi. It seems to happen when the phone has been sitting awhile and I turn the screen on.
