Hello,
My wife dropped on floor her yotaphone 2 and now main screen remains always off and only back screen works.
In mirror mode I don't find a way to check if screen definitely broken. Can you suggest me a way to check if screen is gone?
Is there a way to try to reset everything from the back screen just to check if phone can be saved?

Unfortunately not.
I checked with a local yotaphone service and the cost would be higher than actually the cost of a new yotephone.
I checked Yotaphone site and there the cost would be higher considering the cost of sending the phone there.
Actually my wife is using the EFD screen thanks to mirroring but I'm thinking to buy a new phone.

right, the cost from their website is astronomical, I thought maybe there could be some light in the dark but I think I'll just sell the phone
Similar case here, but mine didn't fall: its front display was on for more than 2 hours, when upper side got very hot and switched off. Now, when I touch the on/off button, the display only briefly flashes in green. E-ink panel and phone both work correctly. I've tried to default reset and reflash firm without results.
Mine is a YD201 bought last october. Have you heard of other cases of front display low realibility?
Same
I do hear rattling inside so I’m gonna open up. I highly suspect something has disconnected in the phone itself. Though poor quality for breaking at one drop without any damage. (Other than the front panel won’t turn on)
Rattling could be due to the side buttons...
BTW I sent mine to repair to the seller -under warranty- and received a new one after 6 long months...

my first for ages.
I recently purchased a wizard which looks to be virtually brand new.
now the other day I updated it the the o2 uk latest rom as it was running a really old rom.
and it has been running perfectly, i have not looked into running any other rom or performance upgrades etc.
now I was using the device in landscape and after closing the unit my screen went bright white and my pride and joy is now not usable.
I can still acept calls, the touch screen still works but the screen is pure white.
Ive contact a few places and they all say the screen has died and needs replacing
Does this sound right.
its a £80 fix if this is right. im so gutted.
any advice is great before i pack it up and send it off.
anyone please....
Can you put it into bootloader mode? If not i would say you have a loose connection on the screen to the mainboard i had the same problem with my old phone the screen disconnected for the main board so no display! If you cant get it replaced take it apart and carefully check the connections if still doesnt work i would try another screen or buy one.
even when i reset it, it stays whits so cant see anyhting on screen,
ive had someone take it apart and re-seat the cables and still just a white screen
so im off to purchase another one in hope this is all thats gone
as your phone is booting up press and hold the camera button, is the screen still white?
cant tell now. ive sent if off for repair.
Im gutted.

I had a similar issue, the keyboard sliding in and out must have worn out the switch that detects when it is open/closed. I had had my wizard a year and the screen started flickering, i dealt with it for a while, then the scree was stuck blank white unless if i pressed on the area of the phone that had the contact.
I had to send it back and got a refurb.
sounds like thats what happened to you too. Hopefully when you get it back it will be good as new
ive sent mine for a screen replacement tho not a repair.
now im worrying that its gonna come back in the same state.
Gulp
got my wizard back after having the screen replaced.
2 days later when ever i touch the bottom of the screen with pen, finger or even breath on it.
the screen goes off and the phone locks up and dies.
I have to take battery out and restart it and it then works great till i touch the bottom again.
Sound like a dodgy screen or something else.
Seems like a flexi strip(The one conecying the display to the mother board) sometimes if the strip develops a tear or is not properly connected this issue usually happens.
the shop doing the repair have said there is the following issues
1- padding issue on the screen (either too much or not enough)
2- Problems with the main board. (something on there is failling, hardware wise)
How the hell could this be happening on a device that was working perfectly
apart from the screen had died.
have they done more damage attempting the repair... I think so .!
I had the white screen 6 months ago. Luckily still under warranty period so got it repaired. It was the flexo-cable. since the fix no problem so far despites using the phone (also in landscape mode) daily.
when i got it back after the screen was replaced my xda worked great but as stated as soon as some preasure was applied to the bottom of the screen it would just die there and then.
I would have to take the battery out and then it would power on as normal
but again if i put presure on the bottom of the screen.. bang DEAD !
so sent it back to them and they told me what I stated above !
now waiting 2wks to hear what they are gonna do about it
not a happy bunny
still nothing back from the company thats doing the repair.
i dont know why they do this.
Im now thinking of getting my Xda back, selling it either on here or ebay and purchasing a new one.
Should i quit now or wait out for the miracle that they fix it completly.
Anyone in the uk reconmend a good repair company please im pulling my hair out.

I guess you mean there are "stuck" or "hot" pixels.
I had same problem.
So i received a replacement from the seller.
Same here, at least with a spot, it is an irregular area with a diameter of about 3mm, it's just brighter, and it's located in the upper left quarter of the display. I only notice it when the background is white, and more evidently when backlight is higher.
Doesn't really bother me tho, and especially is not reason enough to flash back a custom rom and send the device back for warranty waiting who knows how much. Being without it scares me a little since I have nothing else that would do as a decent backup
it's a known issue
search for "blotches" and you'll find a couple of threads about it.
i've seen it on 2 HD2s. i sent the 2nd one back to HTC for warranty repair and they replaced the screen.
My HD2 has started to get these the past few months, call o2uk and they said send the phone back for repair.
I dont want it to go off for a repair as devices like this never come back the same as if it was made in the factory.
I would like a replacement, i dont care if its a refurb.
Could always lose it and claim on the phone insurance lol

i have o2 premium insurance and i have a tiny scratch/crack on the screen from where i dropped it after a car crash , i asked o2 in the shop if it was covered and was told to call up and say i dropped phone and have a small crack, and would be replaced with a brand new phone.
i think i may call and mention the drop and the small crack / scratch and now have parts of the screen that are not coloured correctly lol
I have the same problem. I contacted the online dealer and they told me they would not replace it and I had to contact HTC support. Is this right?
I had this, htc repaired it free in 5 days. Go to htc uk website and call their support line. Was painless -just needed receipt (paypal proof in my case)
Did you get a replacement handset or did they just change the screen?

i have exactly the same issue. does anyone knows if it is a problem strictly of the touchscreen? replacing it will resolve the problem?
thanx in advance
Hey guys, so a few months ago I dropped my phone and the screen cracked, and I had a local repair place replace the screen for me. Well, the other day, my screen decided to no longer respond to touch but the phone is working fine besides that. (Oddly, when I first turn the phone off and back on, the screen will respond for a few minutes before no longer working.) I took the phone in the place that repaired the screen (they have a lifetime warranty) and they said that they put a new screen on and it still didn't work, so it wasn't the screen and suggested that it was a software issue. I factory reset my phone, and still have the same issue. A few questions:
1. Are they lying?
2. If not, if it's another piece of hardware, will Google warranty the phone since it's within a year, even though the screen has been replaced?
3. I've searched online to see if anyone else has had this problem, and nothing seems to be related to hardware, is it possible that it's software and if so, how do I fix it?
Thanks!

I would go to dev options and enable pointer location, and see if the information is what it should be.
Could be a grounding issue, the n5x has this issue while charging, the fingerprint required more pressure too.
Backup your ROM and flash Google's image,

How would I do that without being able to use the screen? The screen does not work at all.

Yes, I currently work for a cellular services company and it's the one that we constantly recommend because we hear good reviews from customers about them.
Thanks for your help so far!
I have this beautiful and powerful phone LeEco Pro 3 that i`ve been using for half an year or so with AOSIP ROM. Its a wonderful phone with an amazing performance.
The thing is my display started a problem history that has become a long history i will try to resume in a few words.
It started in one day i pressed the power button in order to light the display on and check something in an APP i needed. I found out that before the display lighted on some weird colors and artifacts appeared on screen. But indeed the display worked fine.I thought it was just a temporary thing and just kept using it until In the second day that the weird colors and artifacts became permanent, so i realized i was in trouble. :crying:
Tried sending the phone to technical assistance.
The first one - Told me that they could get a new display for testing but indeed the results were the same and they were seeing oxidation in the display connector on the board, not the display flex cable but the main board connection. They said they would not go further into it and they decided to give the phone back to me. Weird thing is that when i turned the phone one it worked for one day without issues. He said the phone was in the same condition, but that is not what i saw. The problem indeed happened again one day later , but it was less worse as i could at least see the screen, but almost half the screen was horribly shaking, trembling.
The second one - Once the tech guy looked the phone he said he didnt see any sign of the phone getting opened. He said he would be seeing signs of glues or anything like that but in his opinion it was definitely not opened. But he warned me the display could physically brake once he opens it as the phone got contact with oxidation in the toilet(I used to left it in the toiled while i take bath). So i was afraid and decided to back off.
The third one - Said he could not find any display so he sent the phone back to me. Didnt open it at all as he was trying to wait for the new display to arrive in order to be safe. They said they are 90% sure its display replacement would do the job. The thing is - if i used in hot environments the issues seems to slowly disappear . If i use it in cold environments the problems seems to get worse
So here i am. I CAN buy another screen over the internet. But i am afraid if it will work or not. Have anyone there faced same issue? What do you recommend me to do? What would you do
Thanks in advance

There are many many post on this subject, recently in fact. That has links. In fact, you can find them on Alibaba that are all black and made specifically for the Le Pro 3. Here is a link of a guy who used the cool s1 display
Yes it sounds like the display or the flex cables.

Here you go cheap and they have the black one

Thank you!
So i can go on and buy another display . Would you do it without worrying?
In the country i live in the display costs 189. The phone costs 900 or 1000.
I have a Mi 9T that took a dive on its corner breaking the display which has degraded from unreadable half a display to black while being tasked to recover some data. Due to the phone not being used afterwards investing in a new screen is not really worth it but due to every option for me to see what is actually happening on screen and every option to remotely retrieve data is turned off it seems to be the only way. Now there are both AMOLED and LCD screens available, but it is not really clear to me if a LCD will just work directly, as it has no fingerprint scanner and probably different drivers.
They are half the money so if it gets me a working screen to enable remote access it is all I need.
Maybe have a repair shop retrieve the data be a better option. Any impact hard enough to damage the display can damage the mobo too.
Always redundantly backup critical data...
I just wanted to know if the display is an option, before I order one and take it apart to see if there is any more visible damage. It is not critical data, hence the cheapest option to retrieve it is the last resort at the moment. It should have been back upped but for some reason it turned out some stuff was not the last month or so.
It does still work, as I'm waiting for the battery to die and have an alarm go off twice daily. Wish it would just turn off instead of reboot with the power button.

Is there any knock-off screen that is advertised for redmi k20 but is definitely an LCD judging from price? If there isn't, then other screens for another phones probably aren't compatible (different connectors, different drivers, etc)
Also you need heat and prying tools, and screwdrivers to remove the mobo so connect the new screen.
Yes, it is listed as LCD on aliexpress for the MI 9t, pro and K20. They also sell the oled display but as the phone is going to be sold for parts I'm going for the cheapest option and just hook it up and not glue it in.
Disassembly is not an issue, it's not my first (and probably not my last). I just don't normally use different parts than what was in there.

If it was cheap enough you may try it, if the data is important. But note that the screen is quite fragile, and you probably want to disconnect the battery from the phone when trying out the screen after it has powered off.

Disconnecting the battery is something you should always try to do as soon as possible when working with electronics.. The good old day when you just popped it out...
My plan was to put it back together with the new screen but not bother with gluing everything in, try to pull the data off and then wipe it.
If you are from EU countries you can buy, plug it, get data or set it to work remotely with PC and send it back to get refund
