Batteries degrade even if not in use. And at 18 euros it does seem a bit expensive.
I would try to find a newer alternative like Anker or Zerolemon. Those seem to have a good reputation.

Nowhere did I say something about higher capacity.
Anker and Zerolemon should have standard slim batteries too. The highest you can go without changing the cover is 3000 I believe.

If the picture's anything to go by, this guy's selling the OEM battery on eBay for under $20 including postage.
Doing a search on eBay for "HB4F1" (the battery code) yields many cheaper results, though their photos indicate that they're aftermarket rather than the original.
If you do decide to buy one, I'd suggest you refrain from leaving feedback until you've had a chance to test it for a few days to confirm that you're getting at least the same life as you got with your original battery.
Based on past experience (with other 'phones), you'll never get anywhere near the rated capacity with "no-name" (and in "no-name" I also include Mugen et al) batteries; they're really only good for emergency back-ups rather than replacing your existing battery. And you'll NEVER get more than the OEM battery's capacity, no matter what the aftermarket manufacturers tell you.

$99 is very pricy for a phone that costs ~$300. AND the the phone becomes bulkier, no thanks.

I buyed two of this batteries. My batteries production date 1,5 year ago and it's lighter than orginal battery. These batteries are waiting for emergency call (if orginal batter empty in a emergency situation) I never charged them and i dont know performance. I am just tested them on my phone. They are %50 charged and phone can working with them.

From what I've read, the "amazing" gold 1800/2430mAh batteries are extremely crap.

The input and output everything is same as samsung only manufacturer is different .... so I am confused if zerolemon is giving the battery so cheap is it e1 up to the quality standards of samsung ... coz I dont want to fry this device ... can't afford another one for 2 yrs ..

the sumsung battery is 3.8v in average , 4.35V limited, highest li-ion battery. most other battery is 3.7v average,4.2 limited.
waht's more, inside the phone there are protection circuit and dc-dc circuit to low the battery voltage from 3.5-4.35 to the voltages every part of phone needed.

Any battery, even OEM, has the potential to harm your device, but the Samsung batteries are very high quality and less likely than the super-cheap chinese knock off copies that are made to look like Samsung batteries that you see everywhere on eBay.
A good aftermarket battery, such as Anker (or Zero Lemon or Mugen, etc.) is probably just as safe as OEM, because their quality is also very high, and they carry a good warranty. Personally, I have used Anker in my S2, S3 without any issues at all for years.

yeah, but the potential is very few. There are many protection circuit for the phone. only if all of them failed, which rarely happens.
Chinese battery is always unsafe and ,it has less mAh than it marked.
I'v buy a 2000mAh in my country for S2 whose OEM battery only 1600mAh. I test it on a balance charger for modelplanes, only 1100mAh.
Stick with 'reputable' brands if you're going to use non-Samsung batteries. Not worth risking $800 worth of electronics to find out why the hard way.

Is zerolemon reputable ??
Can't personally vouch for them/not as I've never used their products. But price is almost always a good guide with these things, if they're really cheap, stay away from their stuff.

I suspect this is because quality of manufacture can vary widely between manufacturers & even between different 'batches' of the same battery from the same manufacturer. For me, I've had one experience with a cheapo brand non-Samsung battery (with my S2) which was a poor one & I was fortunate I could get a refund. End result = I won't use anything other than original Samsung batteries.

It can be a gamble, yeah. But plenty of people on here swear non-Samsung/cheap (as opposed to more expensive ones from reliable companies like Mugen, etc) batteries are fine from lots of manufacturers & they've had good experiences with them, however, if you look through Accessories/elsewhere, you see plenty of people who haven't had good experiences with them.
If you want a battery to work exactly as it should, be at or very very close to the rated capacity printed on the outside, and to last you a reasonable amount of time/give you plenty of use guaranteed (important word), then buy Samsung branded batteries. You know the quality of manufacture is consistent/of a high standard, and if you somehow get one that isn't, it's easy to get a replacement or your money back (and cases like this are rare).

A guy on youtube reviewed it, it doesnt fit right. Mind you his title says 4200 mah and the description says 4500 mah. If you look at the one I ordered below it shows that 4200mah would fit like his does.

Also with these batteries you will most likely lose nfc as they do not mention if they contain the nfc antenna or not.
do you have a samsung oem QI/NFC cover ? seems like if the battery fits then the stock OEM QI cover would give you NFC even with this battery, no ?

Dude just dont buy it, rubish from china. Do you really think they can make a 4500 mah batter with the same size as the original samsung one which is 3220 and sell it for so little money? Chinese batteries are the worst in the world. They even sell their rubish phones with 1 extra battery because they know the first one is gonna die so fast.
Now, from my experience: I once bought a 6800 chinese garbage power bank battery, because it was cheap and I wanted to try it. Guess what, it could only charge my 1650 mah galaxy s2 once before getting depleted. A friend of mine tried a battery similar to the one you linked for his galaxy s4. It was 3500 mah (original is 2600 mah), it achieved a maximum (MAXIMUM) Screen On time of 2 hours. Not to mention that they are dangerous because they might explode (not kidding, I know a case) and that rubbish effective capacity they have is gonna get even worse so quickly.
I've never understand why people risk destroying their expensive new phone by sticking in some cheap ass 'high capacity' battery from China that could well explode while charging, google exploding lithium batteries, it's not pretty. That people think you can fit extra mah into the same size as the OEM battery baffles me, if it was possible to do this do you not think Samsung would have done it themselves.......

So I just replaced my original 3500 mAh battery with the 3880 one I got and according to accubattery it's barely charging it to full capacity?
I've done 3 full drain to 0 and charge to 100 cycles so far

A lot of these aftermarket batteries are lies cheats and theif's. I got a 3300 for my s8 and it only hot 2980. And its supposed to be a good one. I have very rarely seen aftermarket better than oem unless its noticeably larger. Amazon Ebay all of them are guilty of selling sub par cheaply made batteries. And if I had to guess your is one too.

Siigh I knew I probably should of known better then to trust any dumb Amazon reviews. But I was also wondering if it has anything to do with the phone thinking it still has 3500 battery and limiting a full charge so it doesn't get overcharged?

Nah. It can detect the voltage too. It's hard to go by the reviews a lot I bet most reviews in the markets are some form of friends family or paid reviewers. Only problem is even suposed legit batteries are scams and or fakes. Half the time. I've had to replace my battery 3 times in the last year all from ifixit. this one now is only a month old and already showing me like 2900 or so mah. Its showing like a 95% health already.

Ah if you needed a battery you needed a battery. That's another gimmick imo. My s8 has never been wet. I dont trust that crap either. I still keep mine in a life proof. ? there's great batteries out there dont get me wrong. It's just hard to find em. I try to get them from authorized service centers if I can.
My batteries where shot. My orig died out with only 4 to 5 hours off the charger 1 hour at most of screen on time. Even though mines not at capacity I'm still back to full day and about 5 hours of use again. I've had better. But my s8 is over 2 years old now.
