Hi Guys!
So I have a rooted GS5 running MM 6.0.1 on jrkruse's BS FREE ROM. My android security patch level is June 1, 2016. Is there any way to flash these security updates without loosing root and whatnot? If so, where can I find them?
Thanks!

You will receive the official update, and you will be able to update it via OTA as long as you have the stock kernel and recovery. So if you have a custom kernel and/or recovery, reflash the stock ones. Otherwise, you can always download a modified OTA from XDA which will work on a modified system.
So my S5 updated last night. Root checker says not rooted. Xposed installer isn't supported anymore. How can I get back to rooted? Any threads out there yet?
Only update received was part one to prepare for lollipop. Second update will not install. I think I have to unroot back to original then root again. Where can I find the thread for that.

I updated to OA8 and need to root. Anything out there to walk me through this? Tried to flash NK2 but got stuck in boot loop. 3 attempts.

Hello again
You can post in the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 Q&A subforum where your question will be better answered.

I have a rooted tmobile gs5 lollipop 5.1 stock rom. Are there any options to install the stagefright update without unrooting? OTA is not an option, my phone gives me the
I was thinking about installing a custom rom that would have that patch already in it????
Is there a way to use samsung smart switch to install the update? When I attempt to check for software update on my phone, it actually tells me the OS has been modified and try using the smart switch....
Finally, if unrooting is a must, when I go to root, can I follow the same exact protocol as before, or must the developers update the root packages first?
Hi.
Is there a 5.1 stock lollipop for S5?

I have a towelrooted S5 with a slightly debloated stock lollipop 5.0 (BOD3) and I successfully patched stagefright with FlashFire and this fix.
The Detector App says "Not Vulnerable". Knox is still 0x0. No unrooting necessary.

This fix worked for me. Model w8 running ambassadi 6.3. Thank you
I saw that there was a update being pushed for my phone and its marshmallow 6.0.1. I currently have my phone rooted+bootloader unlocked and custom rom trupurexmm 2.4 installed, will I be able to receive this update automatically? Or do I have to undo all this stuff I did to my phone? What are the improvements with 6.0.1?

You definitely can't take the OTA, or it won't succeed anyway, with a custom ROM/recovery. You would have to go back to stock. As far as improvement or changes, I don't know.
Are you sure it's 6.0.1? How do you know that?can't find anything regarding 6.0.1

CyanogenMod is on 6.0.1 I believe. Not a whole lot of info on it that I could find, but I do know that you should NOT take that OTA if you're rooted, etc... Just wait for TruPureXMM to be updated and include it if it doesn't already.

No, there is no other root available.

Even if there is an exploit in kernel you can use, Dm-verity will not be happy about your root files. Just like what happen to note 4. I can be responsible for saying that perfect root through kernel exploit won't happen at least 1 year, since Dm-verity is crazy secure.
In recovery when resetting the phone rebooting router DM Verity checks and I'm rooROM
When I'm in recovery mode and reboot the phone DMV ready checks I'm rooted on 935 you firmware
Dear all,
What is the best way to root S7 edge with stock software but without affecting future OTA updates?
Don't root
Not possible. Choose one. Root or OTA.
