I don't use a sim in my V20 and the Verizon firmware has a constant notification reminding you your phone doesn't have a sim in it which is super annoying. I have been searching google trying to find a way to hide it to no avail. I've made build prop changes and tried root notification blocking apps but I can't get it to go away. I know there has to be a way to hide it though. If someone could please help me out. I'm stomped.
Nevermind I figured it out. It's the call services app. Just block its notification with a root notification blocker.

So I bought a mytouch3G off craigslist and the previous owner had a new voicemail notification that I can't seem to clear or get rid of. I tried calling the voicemail number and just listening to it but he has a password and I can't get a hold of him. Is there any way I can manually delete the notification? It won't clear like it does for new messages/emails/new app installs, etc.
I apologize if this has been answered before. Thanks.
nvm...... .....
edit: nvm...
So, did you figure it out?
I've been getting voicemails recently and am not receiving any notifications stating to call into my voicemail to verify them. I do not have enhanced voicemail (or voicemail to txt) but my plan still has voicemail. I've looked everywhere and cannot find any notifications or voicemail app on how to enable these notifications? Can anyone please guide me in the right direction, I don't feel like calling my voicemail everyday to verify if someone has left me a message.
I had this problem on an older phone (lollipop) on Sprint. Doing some Google searches brought me to a really odd solution. I was using Google's messaging app instead of the stock one. Reverting to the stock app and rebooting solved the issue. If you've switched SMS apps, it's worth a try.
ya im using yaata messaging i believe this might be the issue.. ill try reverting and see what happens
thanks!
Hey there everyone,
I recently flashed Validus ROM and I've been very happy with it. However the is a major issue that makes me think of reverting to stock again. For some reason If I miss a call there is no missed call notification posted. The missed call is registered just fine on the phone, and notifications from other apps such as Telegram get through fine. It is just happening for missed calls.
Does anybody have a suggestion to make on how to remedy this issue?
Thanks in advance.
P.S: I also have Greenify and xposed installed. I tried degreenifying the phone app as well as removing it from the doze optimisation list, but still it is no go.
anyone here able to disable/enable visual voicemail while rooted? for some reason I'm having issues enabling/disabling while not getting any notifications from vvmail and I'm wondering if it's because I'm rooted. I know the T-Mobile Device Unlock app doesn't work while rooted, so I'm wondering if the vvmail app behaves the same... anyone know?

I'm rooted and on Ovrdrive's rom. It works for me.
Have you looked to see if it needs an update?
Im rooted on stock and it seems to work fine for me...though Ive never disabled it.

yep, I generally check updates several times a day and update manually... nothing for the vvmail app. Looks like it might be something on T-Mo's end since I've already tried uninstalling, reinstalling, even wiped the device to go unrooted and it's still having the same issues. I'll have to see what happens in the next few days...
T-Mobile voicemail
Stock Roms won't allow you to change voicemail number, but what you can do in phone app-settings additional call options and change the number to forward too when unanswered or there is 3 options. What I did to totally bypass T-Mobile garbage voicemail for Google Voice which is far superior and free. The new Google Voice update is freaking awesome btw. Hope helps.
Hello Lads Looking for some advice and help if possible please.
I have a problem that I cant find an answer to. I have an S8 with facebook installed and I dont get a notification sound or a popup on the lock screen showing I have a notification? I do get a red number on the apk shortcut showing how many notifications I have.
I've deleted cache and data, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, logged in and out. changed settings within the apk and on my desktop facebook within my browser. still nothing. Ive tried default facebook sound and custom facebook sound and still get nothing.
I need to get this working as I use it daily and Im missing out on some important group messages
Is it a S8 problem or a facebook problem. Phone on latest firmware (EE) and latest facebook apk installed
Can anyone help me please.
Thank you.
Hey did you find a fix?
No Pal still the same problem. No notification sounds , no notification icon on lock screen although I get the red 1 or another number depending on how many new notications I have on facebook apk shortcut, But thats it. NO sounds. Uninstalled reinstalled, cleared data and cache, Logged in an out , restarted phone. checked all settings on desktop
Ah well cheers for the reply mate, been through all those steps myself too. Here's hoping they actually fix this in an update!
I am having the same issues. Not much help but you are not alone.
still no fix for this.? Can anyone help?
Same problem
I'm having this same problem on my S8+. It's super annoying. No sounds, no pop up notifications, just the little red badge number on the app icon to let me know there are notifications. I've done all of the stuff you guys have done. Has anyone seen a way to fix this yet?
No fix yet hopefully when we get oreo it wlll sort it?
Have you attempted to install an older version of Facebook. Maybe it's the Apk itself and not your phone. A recent update probably caused a bug.
Here is what I recommend
Uninstall your current Facebook app
Download and install this version of Facebook
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/faceb...1-0-0-44-205-4-android-apk-download/download/
If not then try to download the latest beta.
Tell me if it solved your issue.

Uninstall Facebook? ?
In all seriousness the Facebook is a bloated battery hogging mobile privacy violation. There are several 3rd party apps that do a great job at Facebook while being efficient and not beaming your every move to Facebook hq for ad analysis
Dont think its the apk as it hasnt worked for months and there have been numerous updates to facebook , ive installed reinstalled etc loads of times but Ill try again later, Thanks on way out
