Root Explorer problem with permissions

ummmm...hello xda devs and members. i am a noob on these forums regarding development of the android OS. i managed to installed racht's floyo v0.30 after a lot of difficulties.
i have root explorer v2.15 installed on the custom rom. before yesterday everything was alright, i could browse and change the permissions of files easily. how ever yesterday in the evening i found out that my gallery wasnt displaying any of my cam pics. so via root explorer i browsed to the DCIM folder and saw that Owner r/w/e permission wasnt enabled. i tried to enable but i got a message saying that permission change was unsuccessful as sd card does not allow it, or something similar. so i updated and installed the official android 2.1 eclair via SEUS. the problem still persists. please help me
um, did you wipe the userdata in xrec/cwm ?
if not, try that.
if you did, all i can suggest is back up the content and format the card.
(that said i'm no expert so maybe someone else will have better solutions.)
before installing rom i performed factory reset through xrecovery and i also tried formatting the sd card. but no use. are u saying that i should try factory reset in phone settings. please reply ASAP
oh, no, just in recovery , but if you've done that, and you've tried formatting the sdcard, idk, perhaps try reinstalling the rom now that you've formatted the sdcard?
if that doesn't do it, y'need someone with more experience than me, heh.
hmmmm...maybe i should try again. and i was wondering if i can use a different sd card(not the one that came with my phone) but if i do so on my custom rom will i brick my phone or something
no, switching sd card won't brick the phone.
also, you could try a more recent version of root explorer and see if that helps.
thanks for the replies. i will try root explorer v2.17 and give updates. please subscribe to this thread so if i face any further problems with this you can help me out.
If can help....

anyway, get latest flash tool, adb shell, baseband 015, unlock bootloader, custom kernel, custom Rom which is compatible with your custom Rom.
NOTE: USE THE SEARCH BUTTON ON TOP RIGHT OF THIS PAGE.
flash 015 baseband using flash tool, reboot, install busybox, xrecovery, #unlock bootloader (CAREFUL), reboot, flash custom kernel#, install custom rom. done.
NOTE: CAN SKIP STEP WITH ## QUOTE IF YOU ARE UNEASY WHAT YOU ARE DOING, PHONE WILL NOT BE SMOOTH AS PHONE WITH UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER AND WITH CUSTOM KERNEL, SAFETY FIRST .
IF GOT PROBLEM, REFLASH/UPDATE USING SEUS(GOOGLE), USING FLASHTOOL INSTALL BUSYBOX, XRECOVERY. REBOOT INTO RECOVERY, MOUNT SYSTEM, PLUG IN ADB CABLE TO PC (ENABLE USE DEBUG FIRST ADB AND INSTALL DRIVER), CMD, ADB SHELL, TYPE IN:
1. SU
2. BUSYBOX
3. DMESG
(SEARCH FORUM FIRST IF DON'T UNDERSTAND)
1. FLASHTOOL, SU IMPROPER INSTALLED
2. FLASHTOOL, BUSYBOX IMPROPER INSTALLED
3. KERNEL, SEUS AGAIN
IF ANY IF THE COMMAND YOU HAVE ENTERED SHOW ERROR, BLANKS(ENABLE USB DEBUG OR DRIVER ERROR) PLEASE CHECK INSTRUCTION CAREFULLY AND TRY AGAIN. THIS IS ULTIMATE FIX THAT I KNOW TO ME, OUT THERE MAYBE SOME PEOPLE WHOSE ARE MORE ADVANCE THAN ME CAN COMMENT/POINT OUT ERROR ABOUT MY POST AND WORK TOGETHER TO TEACH NEWBI A BETTER UNDERSTANDING

ok guys thanks for all your replies (though i did not get many). i think i fixed the problem. you see with racht's floyo v0.30 comes a file manager. what i did was browse to the sd card directory. then i first excluded it from media scan and then reverted the process. i checked to see if my pictures were still in the gallery. i rebooted the phone and to my relief they were there...thank god. anyways thanks for your prompt replies. if you need any help be sure that i will help you

[A] For all of you, ending up in "bootloop" updating Android

I finally managed to install Android 5.0 Lollipop on my Nexus 4.
First I flashed it using the factory images and fastboot and it was working fine, but after one week the sensors did not work anymore. CPU-Z showed no avalaible sensors. So I tried to reflash system.img and then the misery started. I was not able to boot, having the 4 spinning dots for hours, even over night (~8h). I tried every combination one could think of, e.g. installing the factory image, sideloading the OTA, installing flashable zips of the stock rom, I also tried custom roms and formated and also erased every partition using "fastboot erase ... or fastboot format ...". Literally nothing worked except installing the Android 4.4.4 factory image. So I ended up having a nandroid of Android 4 and from time to time installing Android 5 which did never work.
Today I was using the file manager in the TWRP custom recovery and I thought Android 5 not booting may be due to the encryption I had, when Lollipop was running well, the next thought was to try to reset the phone to a "real" factory state, because factory reset in recovery may format /system and /cache etc but the rest of the root file system is still present.
After some search I found this tutorial and I am happy to say that it worked and I rebooted my phone twice without having a "bootloop".
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/tutorial-how-to-unbrick-n4-t2347060
I did it on a Windows 7 laptop and followed the tutorial closely except I did not flash the flashfactory.zip he mentions (the links are down anyways), but I flashed the Android 5 factory image in fastboot. I have a 8GB Nexus, so I did not have to do the part for the Nexus 16GB.
I hope I can help some of you who tried to install Android 5.0 and ended up like me. First thing to try is always a factory reset, but if it does not work like in my case, this tutorial may help. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Root Failed

Hello everyone.
I recently decided that I wanted to root my phone. And since then I have started researching how to do so. This is my first time rooting a phone, so I stuck to the tutorial every step. I followed the video named "How to root Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge" by "Pockethype [ Brian ]" (not allowed to post links) and downloaded files from its description.
However, when I clicked start, it started smoothly, but then the log on my computer said "complete(suceed 0/fail 1)" and the progress bar on my phone stuck on around 70%
I currently can't turn off my phone, can't start the process again, can't do anything.
During my research on how to fix this, I found that some people were doing some changes on "hidden" file, so I looked into the file I had. I don't have all the files that I've seen with other people. Only "cache.img" and "recovery.img". Could this be a problem? How do I solve it?
I have G935F
Edit: Managed to reset it to factory settings, but still want to root it If you know what the problem was - comment how to fix it and root successfully
Every help is appreciated
Very simple, search on XDA TWRP IMG for Odin. Open Odin put it in AP spot ...untick from Odin reset phone..flash.
Power off ..power on with vol up and home button to go to TWRP ..format data ,flash no verity and magisk..search magisk on xda ( magisk and no verity encryption u have to have it on sd card before the process starts.)

[question] Working method to pull boot.img from the phone?

Currently I don't see any fulll ROM for G7. I tried to use several methods found in G6 forum and I got either "file not found" or "permission denied".
Can anybody tell me working method to pull boot.img from the phone?
This is the only step I need to be done to achieve root.

Check carefully your build number to match the ROM or "sorry"
Root is just few hours away
