Root Explorer problem with permissions - XPERIA X8 General

ummmm...hello xda devs and members. i am a noob on these forums regarding development of the android OS. i managed to installed racht's floyo v0.30 after a lot of difficulties.
i have root explorer v2.15 installed on the custom rom. before yesterday everything was alright, i could browse and change the permissions of files easily. how ever yesterday in the evening i found out that my gallery wasnt displaying any of my cam pics. so via root explorer i browsed to the DCIM folder and saw that Owner r/w/e permission wasnt enabled. i tried to enable but i got a message saying that permission change was unsuccessful as sd card does not allow it, or something similar. so i updated and installed the official android 2.1 eclair via SEUS. the problem still persists. please help me

um, did you wipe the userdata in xrec/cwm ?
if not, try that.
if you did, all i can suggest is back up the content and format the card.
(that said i'm no expert so maybe someone else will have better solutions.)

before installing rom i performed factory reset through xrecovery and i also tried formatting the sd card. but no use. are u saying that i should try factory reset in phone settings. please reply ASAP

oh, no, just in recovery , but if you've done that, and you've tried formatting the sdcard, idk, perhaps try reinstalling the rom now that you've formatted the sdcard?
if that doesn't do it, y'need someone with more experience than me, heh.

hmmmm...maybe i should try again. and i was wondering if i can use a different sd card(not the one that came with my phone) but if i do so on my custom rom will i brick my phone or something

no, switching sd card won't brick the phone.
also, you could try a more recent version of root explorer and see if that helps.

thanks for the replies. i will try root explorer v2.17 and give updates. please subscribe to this thread so if i face any further problems with this you can help me out.

If can help....

ok guys thanks for all your replies (though i did not get many). i think i fixed the problem. you see with racht's floyo v0.30 comes a file manager. what i did was browse to the sd card directory. then i first excluded it from media scan and then reverted the process. i checked to see if my pictures were still in the gallery. i rebooted the phone and to my relief they were there...thank god. anyways thanks for your prompt replies. if you need any help be sure that i will help you

basic ways to resolve boot loop stuck phones

if you are stuck in boot loop or having difficulty starting your phone, don't worry, there should be a way.
I have experienced this issue today after flashing wrong file causing my phone to stuck in boot loop. after searching in this forum and after spending over 3 hours, I finally managed to restore my phone and it is now working perfectly fine.
therefore, I thought of making a basic guide to try to resolve such issues. please note, this is a very basic guide to resolve problems with starting your phone, I am not professional but will try to share my experience and help anyone in need. this was done on X10i
lets start:
1- if you have a recent back up and have access to xrec, you can simply restore your phone
2- if you have access to xrec but don't have a backup, try to flash a new ROM
I tried the previous two steps but it kept saying can't mount SD, therfore try the following
3- if you don't have xrec access, use the flash tool
download from here http://www.multiupload.com/7H4JT35B6G
then flash generic 2.1 to your x10, I used this one http://www.mediafire.com/?sqv6274anzfzn2x
here is the guide on how to do it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10879528&postcount=3
I have had problem saying "install or re-install drivers", you just need to install the file in the drivers folder in the flash tool main folder and restart the flash tool program
4- after flashing this ROM, restart your phone and root it using the flash tool, after the root your phone will restart, then you need to ask for premession and click xrec to install xrec to your phone
5- before installing new ROM, please make sure that your baseband and karnel is compatible with it (because the ROM you flashed earlier has old karnel and you will be stuck again in the boot loop if you flashed 2.3.3 just like me, then you will need to start again and install new karnel before instaling 2.3.3 ROM or even restore 2.3.3 ROM)
(you can simply install the new ROM then restart in flash mode and flash the new karnel .71 or flash the karnel and restore your backup)
I know that my choices of flash tool version or generic 2.1 version might not be the best, but I used them and resolved my issue and hope it will resolve yours. for any question please do not hesitate to ask me.
credits to everyone who helped, I can't remember everyone because I read quite a lot so please forgive me
nice post my friend
In flash tool I'm getting an error:
ERROR - USB\VID_0FCE&PID_ADDE\5&2BFAB030&0&5
any idea what to do?
it sounds to me that u may need to install the semc flash drivers.. inside the flashtool u may find a folder named drivers, go inside of that folder and install ggsetup.. also do u have pc companion installed?

can you post the log from the flash tool so I can see at which step exactly this massage came up
I am fairly novice when it comes to flashing so here's a pretty dumb question:
I have an X10a, can I use the X10i software that you've linked in your post or is it just going to brick my phone.

[GUIDE] How to root your ZTE Android device

This method doesn't rely on any root exploits & will work with any Android version on the ZTE Blade (and all variants). It should work on any phone with an unlocked bootloader (all zte android devices are sold with unlocked bootloaders).
Software needed:
adb (windows/linux/mac versions available as part of the android sdk - http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html You will find adb in the tools directory.)
fastboot (windows/linux/mac versions available here: http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/ )
windows drivers for the phone (if you use windows: http://support.zte.com.cn/support/news/NewsDetail.aspx?newsId=1000442 )
ClockworkMod (http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager - download zte blade clockwork recovery image)
SuperUser ( http://androidsu.com/superuser/ Download Eclair/Froyo/Gingerbread/Honeycomb (2.1 – 3.2) version) - Alternatively you can use any rooted custom rom
If your phone is running Android 2.1, then it is probably a 'gen1' device, search for "Mr Pigfish" on Android market if you're unsure. Gen1 blades will need an older version of clockworkmod, 3.0.1.4 - http://download.clockworkmod.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-3.0.1.4-blade.img
Method:
Download/install adb & fastboot. Install drivers for the phone if needed (on Windows).
Plug your phone into your pc using the usb cable, mount usb storage, then copy the Superuser or custom rom zip onto it & unmount usb storage.
Make sure that usb debugging is enabled on your phone, there should be an icon in the status bar, you can enable it in settings (settings -> applications -> development -> usb debugging).
Open a command terminal window & change to the directory that you downloaded recovery-clockwork-[version]-blade.img to. Type...
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
This will make the phone reboot, wait for the android logo (or custom splash screen) on the phone then type...
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-5.0.2.0-blade.img
fastboot reboot
You have just installed ClockworkMod recovery. Your phone will reboot back into android, when it has done that turn it off, then turn it on with the vol- button held to start clockworkmod. Use vol+/- to navigate, home button to select an option, back button to go back. You should create a backup now before you flash anything, when that backup is complete use 'install zip from sdcard' to either install superuser to root your stock rom, or install a custom rom. If you're installing a custom rom then you'll need to wipe data/factory reset too (you will lose all data). reboot, you're done.
I'm not sure if this is the right section for the thread, it'd probably be better in blade general. I forgot that newbies can't reply here.
Anyway, for those that can reply, can you suggest any improvements? I'll find links for adb, fastboot & windows drivers later.
Everything is clear except where to find adb and fastboot for noob users... (like me).
I did a little search and found out that adb is installed with the Android SDK... so, i installed it, installed the android platform-tools package, the usb driver but i am stuck with fastboot...
There is no fastboot in the Android SDK installation directory... and i can't find it on the web... so, i can't install clockworkmod recovery and i'm stuck...
Can u help me plz ?
Yeah, as I said, I'm still looking for links. you get fastboot when you compile android from source, but that is a bit of a long & complicated way.
Here is a pre-compiled version of fastboot for windows, linux & macos http://koushikdutta.blurryfox.com/G1/
adb works without the sdk too, I'll see if I can find links for that.
The windows driver is on zte's site somewhere, but that's a pain to find anything on. I'm not sure if the Google driver works. I don't even run windows, so if anybody can help write that part...
Probably best to for XP use the exe driver installer (Thats in the pcsuite.iso in the official 2.3.5 rom)
Windows 7 just works (gets drivers from windows update).
Does the superboot apk deal with changing default.prop (to allow adb remount etc).
If not could do that (use the same thing the CM7 universal converter uses to split the boot.img).

Not everybody is running the official 2.3.5 rom, it's probably a tiny fraction of users. 2.1 roms don't have the driver iso. I found the drivers & updated the first post. The drivers on the phone should work fine, if you are running an unmodified 2.2 or 2.3 stock rom, just plug the phone in & it should mount a driver cd image over usb to install the drivers.

It's superuser, it's a clockworkmod zip file & no, it doesn't change default.prop. It installs superuser & su.

Hi wbaw....
nice to see you posting helpful stuff here....
Can I ask what is perhaps a silly question, about the rooting process for ZTE devices, without relying on root exploits?
How is this different, or better, than using the z4Root modified by kallt_kaffe App, which I have linked (MoDaCo).
Is it just the use of the exploit, or is there another reason?
I have used it on my OSF/Blade, and never lost root or had any other problem, AFAIK.
Also, I see you are not showing your previous GEN1/Gen2 all-in-one TPT for GSF any more...is it available any more for ppl who may want to try it?
Thanks in advance
The exploit that z4root uses doesn't work on newer versions of Android (2.2.2 & above), ZTE are selling some phones with these newer versions of Android.
If z4root works for you, then that's fine, there's nothing wrong with it. It just doesn't work for everybody.
If you are using a version of Android that z4root (or other root exploits) do work on, then you should update Android asap. Otherwise a malicious app could use the same exploit to take over your phone. Root exploits themselves aren't bad (as long as you're doing it to your own device, or with permission of the owner) - the fact that root exploits work is bad & a sign that you need to update the software asap.
GSF has it's own thread. You can get the same effect by using the gen1 to gen2 tpt & then installing gsf. It is buggy & old, I think there is a nasty remote root exploit out there for 2.3.4 too. Just use CyanogenMod, it's much better, less buggy, more secure, they keep up with the latest Android fixes & it has more customisation options.
Thank you for the explanation...I will go ahead and do what you have advised.
I am just continuing to use good old Swedish Spring RLS5, which I think was kallt_kaffe (Cold Coffee) also......GEN 2 thanks to your Gen 1>Gen 2 TPT.
I think t is 2.2.
If I want to proceed to permanently root as you describe, should I use z4root to unroot first?
I will probably move to CyanogenMod, so I should use your exploit-free root instructions first.
BTW, I will be sad to move on from SS, as it does seem to be as near a perfect fit as I have found for the Blade.
I did put on GSF ,some time ago, and to be very honest, I just lasted a night with it, then restored the SS Nandroid.......it didn't feel at all as satisfactory a UI experience as SS.
Perhaps it was me, you know, you get used to an old pair of sneakers, etc.
As you said, it was and is always beta...it was an early version!!!
Thanks again, and keep up the good work in these calm(er) waters
Custom roms are already rooted. You don't need to root a custom rom, you just install it with clockworkmod.
If you already have a custom rom installed then you don't need any of this guide, you've already got clockworkmod. All this guide does is tell you how to install clockworkmod.
This is for people with phones on a stock rom who want to be able to install clockworkmod to root their stock rom or install a custom rom.
You shouldn't still be using Android 2.2 because the root exploit in z4root works on it, therefore other more malicious apps could use a similar exploit without asking you first.
Hi..... does this work on any Android phone?
I have in mind the new Samsung W i 8150.
Getting one for Xmas.... AFAIK
Sent from my ZTE-BLADE using Tapatalk
It should work on some other android phones, but they'll need adb & an unlocked bootloader, so it wont work with every phone. It should work on any ZTE android phone or tablet (except maybe the tureis?).

You need to download clockwork recovery & be in the directory that you downloaded it to, to run that command.
Thank you!It works. Now, can I put Cyanogenmod 7.1 on 2.3.5 OS with this root and clocworckmod ?

You can put clockworkmod on, but cm7 might not work without a bit of fixing, it is designed for 2.2 blades, zte's 2.3.5 has a different radio firmware.
Is this a 2.3.5 blade? where did you buy it?
Well, first time i had 2.1 update-1.After that I updated the version to 2.2 Boygues (or something like this) and then i found on this forum the official image.bin (2.3.5) and I decided to update. But now, i want to try CM.

I see, you'll need to use another image.bin to go back to 'gen2' - the zte froyo radio firmware. Otherwise you wont get any phone signal, 3g or gps on CM7 because the 2.3.5 image.bin that you installed contained new radio firmware.
You don't need to root it first, you can install clockworkmod with a gen2 radio firmware using a custom image.bin like this one that http://www.mediafire.com/?jb4crw3em2m4r4x Amphoras made.
The 2.3.5 image.bin contained another new version of the radio firmware, which isn't compatible with CM7.
Uhuuu, it works.Thank you a lot! CM7.1 is awsome. This forum is awsome.
Hey I cant acess adb after doing adb reboot bootloader. When I come to the chinese letter I cant do nothing. So i cant fastboot flash recovery recovery-xxx.img.
What im i doing wrong?

[Solution] How to DEFINITELY root LQ3! Step by step instructions provided

Hi there,
I recently got a Note from work, coming from two years of a Galaxy S, I understood most of the "scene" for the Note, but learned new stuff such as the dreaded 0x19 eMMC bug and Yellow Triangle (counter) when flashing via ODIN. Those things were new to me until now.
So, last night, I've spent it whole (from 2 AM to 7 AM) trying to make this work, figuring out a safe way to wipe a ICS that was filled with unsuccessful roots and left overs from previous flash. After searching, reading a lot, understanding and connected all together logically, I did it this way. Here it goes, hope it helps, since I've seen a lot of people having trouble to root this.
The premise is to start fresh with a wiped phone and go as straight as possible to ICS LQ3. If you don't want to wipe, you could avoid those steps and work around them. I wanted to share what I did so others could do it easier.
All these steps are just because LQ3 is too big to directly root (0 MB left in ROM, acording to Titanium Backup), so you have to work your way towards that.
Let's begin:
1) Flash N7000XXLC1_N7000OXALC1 Open Europe WIPE, Pre Rooted from this thread from bodivas via ODIN PC. Look for "LC1" and download it from HotFile.
What this achieves is to go back to a safe GB stock ROM & Kernel where you can safely wipe the phone via Recovery, plus it's a wipe ROM that'll do that too just when installed. This wont give you the yellow triangle or increase your custom flash counter, so don't worry.
2) Configure Play Store to download or side load the Mobile ODIN from ChainFire. I think you'll need the paid version, since I'm using the EverRoot option here, available only there.
3) Flash N7000XXLQ3 from this thread by dr.ketan or directly from SamMobile.com with Mobile ODIN with settings: Enable EverRoot, Inject Superuser (SuperSU), Inject Mobile ODIN and (optionally) Wipe data and cache and Wipe Dalvik cache for a "cleaner" migration to that new LQ3
* I've noticed that sometimes, after wiping data with Mobile Odin, you might get the "null null" error when typing with the keyboard, since it messes the CSC. What you have to do is reflash CSC (called "Cache" in Mobile Odin) without wiping again
This will flash the new LQ3 version while mantaining a partial root from the previous firmware.
4) Now if you go and open SuperSU it would say that there's a problem with the SU binary and can't be solved. What this means is that there's 0 space left in the ROM for it to update, so we need to solve this.
What you have to do is get Titanium Backup or a similar app to remove some system app and make space. What I've chosen to delete is "Setup Wizard 1.3" that is the wizard you first saw when you flashed your new firmware, so surely you won't be needing it again. It frees about 2 MB of space, but you could be deleting any other app instead of that one if you wanted.
5) Flash CF-Root-SGN_XX_SEB_LQ3-v5.6-CWM5 from this thread from ChainFire, or any other kernel of your choice, to install CWM and the latest SuperSU.
6) When the phone starts again, open SuperSU and it wil prompt it to update the binary.
Voilá! Everything is done: now you are in LQ3 with full root, SuperSU correctly working and with CWM installed. From now on, any new firmware that has a fully loaded ROM should work the same way to root.
Enjoy and hope this helped somebody out there Any questions, please let me know.
Regards,
Or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1647148. I tried it in lq3.
That obviously didn't work, was the first thing to try and there was not enough space for the Binaries to install, so at best you get a partial root, as worst (me) get no root at all and no chance to free any space for further rooting
Why not flashing CSC, CF-Kernel and LQ3 simultaneously? I did this and didn't need to inject or delete something. Just a sidenote
You could combine those flashes, that's correct, but what I wrote was what I did, each step producing one result in order to be able to trace the errors and know (if something) was working incorrectly or producing good results, and be able to pinpoint what it was.
I thought of this after several tries of other methods that failed, so this is a step by step (as title says) to root it, for people who stumbles upon the same problems I and many other have.
Partial Root?
There is not such thing as partial root. In the event that you have trouble pasting into /system, you have a corrupted /system partition. (not partial root)
To fix it:
Connect your phone to the computer via usb.
Ensure that your phone is recognized by ADB in command prompt by typing adb devices (ADB should respond with your device info)
Enter adb shell
Then enter the following syntax in adb shell:
#dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 bs=1M count=1
*ensure there is no typos when inputting code as it could cause damage to the device.
Reboot your device into CWM (make sure you are on a safe kernel/recovery!, preferably Abyss 4.2)
Now format /system under Mounts and Storage (/system will not mount automatically which will allow you to format your corrupted /system partition properly.)
Then perform Full Wipe (Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cash)
Flash your desired Rom (let it settle) and you will be able to edit your /system again!!!
**** This info was provided by Entropy somewhere on the forum *****
Thanks for your comments,
By partial root I meant that root could be achieved but the SuperSU apk would give the error because of the lack of space. Maybe the term used wasn't the best

Ok. I had DDLB2,
Downloaded XXLQ3 - Flashed over PC odin
Downloaded Chainfire CF-ROOT LQ3 Kernel from the Thread
Flashed that over PC Odin as well
Switched ON the Phone
Downloaded Triangle Away, Said it needed a Support file, Downloaded it,
- Rebooted in a special mode, Cleared status.
Switched ON phone, did a Factory Reset.
So far Everything is Good, and I have Root Access as well.

I've saw the SuperSU Market update today, saw the "Fix some installation problems" log and wondered if it was related to this.
I don't need to try it now again, but I'm glad this was worked out. Hopefully it installs OK now but, what does it do to free space?
what i underatand by reading script
it moves google map and youtube before installing su binarry, then again it replaces map n youtue, now if space will remain low, map or youtube or both won't get install, then you can install it from market.

Type:
"sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh"
Update su binary normal, but in the end DO NOT REBOOT YOUR DEVICE
8. Go to Settings and turn USB Debugging on... (If you dont now how to do this... Go to Settings-About phone-click seven times in "build number"-go back-"developer option"- turn it on!!!)
9. Go to your computer and connect your phone.
unzip the file that you download it in Step 1, and press install.
Chose the SuperSu Option
When asked, allow debugging in your phone and also root access.
10. In the end of the the installation process THE PHONE WILL REEBOT and in the star sony screen, press multiple times the volume down to enter TWRP recovery.
Now install the SuperSU v2.49 Beta zip file that you downloaded in step 2.
11. Reboot your device and now you have permanent root and dual recovery... It was not so hard, was it???
Give Thanks to NUT and Chainfire, that without their work, this was not possible.
Reserved:
A word of advice.
If your device gets stuck or die, reinstall your firmware whit the original sony flash tool, that you can find and download in sony's support site.
You should also mention that the Kingroot app may share Your phone's unique information such as IMEI with some servers. Also, in step 7 You assume the phone is rooted, but till step 6 all that is done is downloading and installing the app, nothing is done by opening the app, which might confuse some users.
Since all other thing i wrote here were deleted i will delete this also.

its: "sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh"
you must leave a space between sh and /
Another thins... this is my solution that i decided to share... If you don't like it, don't try it or don't use it... it works for me.
If it helps anyone, great!
Is also possible that doesn't work for everyone... so... like it says in the OP... do it at your own risk.
Criticize is easy... posting solutions is harder!
I have try kingroot on fw 283 telecom de, and not worked.

You can follow guide from My signature. It is tried and tested on locked bootloader.
KingRoot.apk worked on my Z1C with .270 kernel, with locked bootloader. Should work on .283 as well. Followed a different tutorial though, probably taken from this one. Dunno which from which
Can you post your tutorial?

i read both guides through couple of times and then went for it and it worked.
Hi,
I've got stuck in the step 9. I have USB debugging enabled in my phone, but adb is not seeing my device and the script is waiting with for it:
Code:
==============================================
= =
= PhilZ Touch, CWM and TWRP Dual Recovery =
= Maintained by [NUT] =
= =
= For Many Sony Xperia Devices! =
= =
==============================================
1. Installation on ROM rooted with SuperSU
2. Installation on ROM rooted with SuperUser
3. Installation on unrooted ROM using the TowelRoot method
4. Install ADB drivers to windows
5. Exit
Please choose install action.
[1,2,3,4,5]?1
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
=============================================
Waiting for Device, connect USB cable now...
=============================================
adb devices
List of devices attached
In step 7, you wrote to now reboot the phone, which I assume could solve my issue (reboot into fastboot mode).
Do you have any solution for this?
Thanks a lot,
Michal.
EDIT:
I've solved this problem when I changed the Sony Xperia Z1 driver to not MTP but USB composite -> then ADB driver installed as well.
How to change this: Device Manager->Portable Devices-> Z1->Update Driver->Browse my Computer->Let me pick from.. -> Change to USB composite.
Now I have dual recovery with rooted phone - thanks a lot!
Michal.

(ROOT) (CUSTOM RECOVERY) FOR MOTO G 1st GEN

Hello, guys this is my first post but i am quite sure that my methods work.If there any problems then u can surely ask in the section below. This thread will be a GUIDE TO ROOT AND INSTALL CUSTOM RECOVERY FOR MOTO G 1st Gen users.
Some prerequisites are:
1. Motorola drives (https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/88481)
2.Fastboot and recovery files (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9jf2va51ffg0pzq/AAAxDT-ETf7AESIcHGnfEgv7a?dl=0)
[ Let these files be downloaded and kept in Cdrive of ur pc and and place them on the desktop.. Please name this folder MOTO FILES]
3. SuperSu files https://download.chainfire.eu/696/supersu/ and[/url] paste it in ur phones internal memory and please do this after unlocking the bootloader cause bootloader unlocking will delete everything so its better to do it after unlocking bootloader
Download these files and ur done... Now lets continue to the fun part
This process involves three very simple steps :
1. Unlocking the Bootloader:-
This process is infact very easy to do. There are several guides on the internet regarding this process but the one that i suggest is by High On Android/ Max Lee . Follow his method and u can very easily unlock ur bootlader. Copy this url and see it for urself fellow guys...http://highonandroid.com/android-smartphones/how-to-unlock-bootloader-on-motorola-android-smartphone
2. Erasing ur previous recovery and installing a new one and rooting ur phone all in one process
Some users have been reporting that even after installing custom recovery , whenever they go into recovery they enter into stock recovery. The actual problem is that the stock rom of the Moto G rewrites over the new custom recovery installed.
So we have to install the recovery actually twice but it only takes a few minutes
i) Firstly be sure to have lots of juice in your phone
ii) Boot ur phone into the bootloader by power offing ur device and then pressing the volume down and power button together for 10 seconds and then leaving both of them together.
iii) Now connect ur device to ur pc/laptop
iv) Now open a cmd and enter the following commands(press enter after every command)
- cd Desktop
-cd MOTO FILES
-fastboot flash recovery Recovery2.img
-fastboot reboot-bootloader
[MAKE SURE NOT TO REBOOT UR DEVICE ]
v) Now ur phone has custom recovery installed in it and u shud now enter into recovery mode by choosing the option from the bootloader, by pressing volume down and then volume up while in bootloader mode.
vi) This will open the Philz recovery that i have provided with. I prefer the philz recovery over the cwm one. Now go on and install the SuperSu update zip file. And BOOM ur Device is now rooted !!!!.
vii) Now reboot ur phone and u must install
-ROOT CHECKER (to check root)
- and most importantly ROOT EXPLORER
viii) After following step (vii), now if u try to go into recovery, u will be booted to stock recovery. So to prevent that use the ROOT EXPLORER app and go to the root \system\etc and delete the file named install-recovery.sh .
ix) After deleting the file u will once again have to follow step (iv) and install custom recovery this will ensure u having custom recovery even after rebooting ur device and u will have ROOT access as well
On which android version , were you on before rooting . 5.01 or 5.1 .
This method works for both 5.1 and 5.01

Remember: In some marshmallow ROMs (e. g. CM 13 and CyanPop) flashing SuperSU causes some trouble!

if u want to install twrp recovery and u have its file then i will suggest u to use my method that i have given above and instead writing the command
fastboot flash recovery Recovery2.img u can change it to fastboot flash recovery [name of the recovery file, dont forget the .img at the end]. Thats all u have to do. I saw that video prior to installing custom recovery in my phone too and noticed that his link was broken thats how i figured out my method of installing custom recovery. Its very easy. just follow the steps. :good::good::good:

I will recheck that super su. file and make sure its perfect... Thanks for the response:good:
Once i finished steps all, When i open SuperSU, popup window says, "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install in it. This is the Problem!
If you just upgraded to android 5.0, you need to manually re-root - consult the relevant forums for your device!
Plz help me on this....
if i check with root checker,
Sorry! Root access is not properly installed on this device
Works but could be simplified
Thanks for this useful post. I've just followed the instructions to root my XT1032 Stock Lollipop 5.1, and they work. However, I have a few comments:
[1] I had already installed Motorola Device Manager on my (Windows 7) PC, plus 'Minimal ADB and Fastboot'. This was sufficient – I didn't need to download the files in your prerequisite 2.
[2] You can use any compatible recovery image. I prefer TWRP, so downloaded openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-xt1032.img.
[3] The SuperSu zip file you've linked to is out of date. The current one is version 2.46 (for Lollipop).
[4] After flashing SuperSu it's advisable to wipe the cache and Dalvik cache.
[5] Root Checker showed that BusyBox wasn't installed, so I downloaded Stephen Erickson's BusyBox installer from the Play Store. This is an essential step, as most programs requiring root won't work without BusyBox. Perhaps it could be added to the OP?
[6] You don't need to use Root Explorer – any root-compatible file manager will do. I prefer Total Commander.
[7] Having deleted (or in my case renamed) install-recovery.sh and then rebooted, I didn't need to go back to step iv and reinstall the custom recovery; in my case TWRP was still there. I think your step ix is unnecessary; at least it's worth checking which recovery you have.
I hope these points are useful and not too nit-picking!

Reinstallation of custom recovery is not must its just for safety precautions and I have finally updated the SuperSu link. As far as Busybox u will have to install it customly only.
