Just ordered it from B&H. For the normal price of $229.00 including free accessories:
JBL Synchros E40BT
Spieltek VR-M2 Virtual Reality Headset
ASUS ZenPower Pro 10050mAh Portable Battery Pack
Free overnight shipping
Not bad for free items. The battery pack alone is worth it. Gotta love B&H
I'm liking this phone as well........ but the forums here are dead, which means no support
I would want atleast root
Well it did just come out a few days ago. So im willing to give it some time for the forum to populate

Phone is awesome. Just got mine yesterday from B&H. Screen time is crazy and I have experienced zero lag. My only issue is that settings crashes when I try to setup a schedule for do not disturb.
Got it as well. Looking forward to the forum opening up more. Shouldn't be too difficult, it comes with unlocked bootloader. So just need TWRP ported, which shouldn't be too difficult and I assume it won't take long.

Thanks for this and any further info. Mine should arrive tomorrow. I'm curious to see and compare screen on times. Good battery life is the number one reason I jumped on this, also through the B&H deal. Seemed too good for the price to pass up.
I'm hoping the relatively poor speaker (coming from a Nexus 6) won't be too much of a let down. If sound quality is good through the headphone jack, I'll live with it. Love the Nexus 6 but battery life has just gotten too poor. From what I've researched, the Snapdragon 625 should perform pretty much equal to the 805 (N6), but I'm hoping to get 3x the battery life. Only issue I'm concerned about is touch latency. It is much worse on my Moto G4 vs the Nexus 6 or other older flagships, making fast response games (Super Hexagon) basically unplayable.
Overall, I like the phone. Even though we don't have root yet (hopefully we get it eventually). Seems quick, good screen, good battery. I haven't found any big downsides yet.
Anyone else having issues with their speaker? It seems the bottom left speaker of my phone is not outputting any sound (if I cover with my thumb, you can tell only the bottom right works).

Mine does that too. Unsure if intentional or not.
Mine arrived last Friday. This is the first Android phone I haven't planned to root.
Compared to my LG G Stylo, the Blade V8 Pro is much snappier, battery life seems a little worse (snappier processor & higher-res screen), camera is less noisy but doesn't focus quite as well, and build quality is much more solid. Reception was a little better with the G Stylo; I could get T-Mobile Band 4 LTE if I held it up by my apartment window but the Blade V8 Pro won't quite pick it up.
I keep feeling for the power and volume buttons on the back, and to answer a call on the G Stylo I'd swipe up and to the right but to answer calls on the Blade V8 Pro I have to swipe downward--so far I have accidentally rejected 2 calls... but now I know.

I'm pretty sure you could just disable all the battery saving features for the specific app and it should work fine. That's what works in my case at least.
Well guys i gave up on this phone. With the lack of updates and no root, i moved on. Shame too because it was a decent phone.

Plus bro in March the latest update fixed that **** it still needs to be updated more. 1 update since first purchased is rediculous as they continue rolling out phones they forget the one that was launched with marshmallow but they were supposedly waiting til the could optimize the device for 7.0. I would keep bugging ZTE about it if you still use this phone as daily driver or a secondary device

With the 1st ota update
The music bug got squashed as well as som3 other bugs as I now get about 10 1/2 hrs screen on time but they promised nougat on this device as they keep rolling out devices which are cheaper but have 7.0-7.1.
Ditto, great phone potential but without rooting and having linage, its DEAD. They also have not released any additional patches, its now Sept 17 and the android patch level is Jan 17. Stuck on MM as well.
They did however release a NEW version of this phone, cleverly named the exact same f'n name.... and it has all the updated software.

I can't believe you paid so much for the blade. They were only available here first via metro pcs... $179.00 but i have an unlocked axon 7 at the time, with them. It was in texas for repair - 2 year warranty - $79 fixes everything the second year - 1st is completely free.
So - i bought locked blade and used it for a week. Metro wouldn't unlock it. Texas did!
Boom - moved both accounts to a competitor.
Yesterday 10/20 there were plans for the blade to get oreo very soon.

After using the Idol 3 for a couple of weeks, I have the following observations.
Pros:
1) It is a very nice phone, especially considering the price.
2) Battery life is on par with most flagship phones if not better. I can get 5 hours SOT without turning anything off or down. (Considering most people on other phones are complaining about battery drain on Android 5.01/2 and everyone is hoping that 5.1 will fix this, our battery life may only get better)
3) The camera is quick taking shots and straight forward to use. (quality not so much)
4) The OS is simple with very little bloat ware.
5) Very good sound with the front facing speakers.
6) The phone is thin and light for a having a 2910 mAh battery in it.
7) The screen is very bright in direct sunlight. I use it outside a lot and enjoy using it without trying to find some shade.
Cons:
1) The camera is fast but only takes decent pictures. Although for this price one can't complain to much as it is on par of flagship phones a couple years old.
2) Double tap to wake seems to be a constant issue for many (myself included).
3) Only 1 update in the last 14 days. I was hoping for Alcatel to push out some updates quicker but only time will tell how well they do.
4) The phone isn't blazing fast but doesn't lag too much either so this is kind of neutral. Clearly the recent apps is choppy and slow but most performance is decent.
5) Very little in the way of accessories. I bought an ipad screen protector and cut it down to fit.(I can get 3 out of 1).
6) Development isn't there. Not sure if it will be as maybe the phone isn't popular enough or the root/boatloader issue my be part of that as well.
I had the Zenfone 2 and LG G3 and sold them both in favour of this phone. I have had almost every flag phone out there and thought I would play around with some lower priced devices and have been pleasantly surprised with this phone so far. 3 things for me to keep the phone as a daily driver for a little would be, the DTTW issue resolved, some development so I can have some fun flashing some roms, and update to Android M (or at least to 5.1 for some software improvements and extra battery life, but 5 hours of OST is good for me. I most likely will be keeping this phone as my backup once I do move on and will certainly keep an eye on Alcatel for future phones.
I agree 100% with what you said. Just waiting for an update to 5.1 (with some bug fixing) and I'd be very happy.
As for the camera, I'm coming from a Nexus 4. So this is a huge upgrade. I actually find that it takes pretty decent pictures in sunlight.

I watched a review that stated the Zenfone 2 camera blew the idol 3 away.
My personal experience is completely the opposite. The Zenfone 2 camera was slow at focusing and unless you picked a shooting mode the auto setting was the worse choice.
I was spoiled with the note 4 and G3 cameras.

Completely agree with all you have written on your posts[emoji2] . I have the phone and love it, double tap works very well, apex launcher + Deactivated animations in dev menu is a must!
And to screen off the device apex + screen off app is fantastic!
Oh and I have tried the laggy g3, its sad screen and its bad battery life [emoji6] ..
I own the m8 because the m9 hasn't convinced me, vs the m8..

I like it too. if somehow development are started I don't really care if Alcatel updates. hardware wise I'm sure this phone can do better than it is now.
therefore I'm only praying for everything to come together for developments of custom roms before everyone got fed up of Alcatel and leave this boat.

There is a 3-pack of Mr Shield screen protectors on Amazon that fit the phone perfectly. They aren't the best quality (shows scratches pretty easily) but they have the cutout for the camera/light sensor.

I don't disagree but the update was on start up. Nothing after that. This is a budget phone and a great one at that. If they address a could issue this good be a decent daily driver.
I lost patients and moved on but still check the forum as it was an underdog and I was mostly pleased with it.

Ive had this since yesterday. Phone has great potential with custom roms. My biggest complaint is the serious lag issues. Id assume this is from 5.0.2 and the memory leak. The animations are choppy as hell. Otherwise great device.

5.0.2 is full of bugs, yeah. Not sure why phones would ship with that in the first place but meh. To have a smoother experience, enable dev options and set all animation scales to off or .5x.
In europe evertything runs just fine animations, app clearing, everything even in 5.0.2, what's your build number?
The design is what sold me. Super light weight and very good battery life. Speakers are very good and the lcd is better than my nexus 5 was. The only downside is the lag which im thinking is from the gpu drivers and 5.0.2. Custom roms could fix this.

what is the phone charging time ? wonder if its Lion battery needs to be replaced faster than others' Lipo ?
To start, I'm definitely satisfied with my 64gb, black leather and red accent MXP. My biggest concern right now is the announcement of the Nexus 6P. Modders/developers, will this effect the potential of future development for the MXP? I'm with Verizon, so my choices on rootable/unlocked devices is very limited. Anyone else concerned and debating on selling/returning MXP? Also, with Android M announced, this will now show how truthful Motorola was on updating MXP.
I am happy with Moto. Nexus 6p is not much better oh and more expensive.
Sent from my XT1575 using Tapatalk
I haven't even seen my custom MXP yet and I'm debating returning it. My MXP has been at my house since September 18, but I'm at college and won't be able to retrieve it until October 10. I only have a few days left whether to tell my Mom to return it or not (Motorola only allows returns within 14 days of delivery).
The Nexus 6P definitely looks like the better overall phone spec-wise. But the differences are marginal.
The upsides to the MXP that make this a very hard decision are the customization, so I like the design much better (doesn't look like an iPhone), and the Motorola apps that the phone comes with (I kinda like the fact that it's not 100% stock android, but close). I'll also be able to have it in my possession much earlier (Nexus 6P doesn't look like it's shipping until November).
The only reasons I'd go for the Nexus 6P is the bigger battery and the better dev support.
Very hard decision to make here. Motorola's customization should not be overlooked here, while I think that the Nexus 6P's marginally better specs could be.

I know the two devices are so very similar with a $100 price difference. Just hoping modders will stick with developing for the MXP, biggest reasons for getting the MXP, was for near stock OS and development here at XDA.
Also, who should I donate to for development of CM for MXP? (I know it's probably a huge list of users, I do like compensating those for their time and efforts)
The only person I've seen doing anything with the MXP recently is Harsh. That is great but the odds of people suddenly grabbing this device for development, with its fairly obvious and well reported shortcomings is pretty low IMO. Especially with the nexus already announced and shipping in 30 days.
I bought my MXP on the third and still don't have the stupid thing. Sorry but that is pretty pathetic on Moto's part.
Add to all this Leno gutting Moto right before launch and the odds of updates being speedy being diminished greatly makes the MXP the riskier device.
I don't need the finger print scanner but its nice to have. I normally don't lock my phone but I would with the scanner and for last pass and bank stuff its really nice to not have to tap in my log pass word. Add to that Amoled is better and a better chipset that won't struggle when the gpu runs and bigger battery make the $100 a no brainer. My pure is most likely going back assuming it even gets here.

I wouldn't return it, 6P is much more expensive per storage option and really you'd only be adding a fingerprint scanner, besides that its just a small step up. Also you probably wouldn't see it until years end since on the reddit threadspeoples delivery dates are now at mid-late november and that was hours ago.

Valid point... Maybe with the 2 devices being so similar, developing for each might not be too different either and possibly porting 6p mods to MXP might be an option.
I'm having a little buyers regret as of today, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $100 more and I've grown to quite like the Moto sensor features and their "always listening" feature.... I use it much more than I thought I would.
I'm sitting here looking at a brand new OnePlus2 that I got yesterday - I received my invite and had to try it. I'm thinking I could sell that and get the 6P (with a little more $$ thrown in) and see what I think of it?
It's a never ending game.... In a couple months, a new Flagship will be out and I'll wish I had that too... I have to stop somewhere and pause for a while.

The OP2 sounds pretty weak (speaker) compared to the MXP. It even sounds pretty weak compared to a Galaxy S6/S6 Edge/iPhone..... Also, during the initial setup my battery went from 93% to 52% in just a 35-40 minute period. This included downloading and applying the 2.1 Oxygen update and several apps from the app store and restarting after the update. My M9 had a Snapdragon 810 and it was snappier than the OP2, IMO, and sounded a lot better too.
I did like the off-screen buttons and the home button/fingerprint scanner.
I think that's what I'll do.... Sell it for as close to the $400 I paid (after shipping) for it and put that back for a N6P.
The biggest complaint I have about the MXP is I can't find a screen protector to fit it!

Interesting... Thanks for the response. I recommend the 6P pre-order, this phone looks like it will be a winner. Huawei makes pretty nice phones, I'm glad they teamed up with Google. I was thinking about getting the OPT still but trying out HydrogenOS, I'm hearing good things about it and of course you always have CM.
You don't have cm with OnePlus 2... They ended their relationship a long time ago, hence why they had to go to Oxygen.

The oneplus one was great. I had an invite for the 2 but I passed on it for the Pure. Now my pure is going back as its not living up to expectations and I have the BIg P on pre order.
Its like $50 more for the nexus. Lots of little things make that worth it, biggest of all is the development on the nexus will be much better.
For me switching to the Nexus will only cost me about $5 more or $55 more if I do a 64GB since I spent $475 on the Moto with 32GB and wood cover and $20 on a memory card I probably don't need but bought simply because I could lol. So take away the memory card and the upgrade is only $25 but I get a better battery, fingerprint reader, instant updates, at least 2 years of updates, maybe better camera, AMOLED displace, notification light, etc....seems like a good deal at least for me.

I'm basically in the same situation. 64gb with leather and have a 64gb SanDisk UHS 3 card. If I bought the 64gb 6p I would save money. I might just keep MXP so I don't have to deal with selling it.

Just to update you on something, OT here...
I boxed up my MXP this morning and have been using the OP2 all day... I've got about 10 hours of up-time with about 1:20 SOT and I'm at 77% on my battery. To be honest, this feels just about like the MXP... And I'm hoping this gets better after a few days of use (set up like a new ROM last night before bed).
I've had wifi on all day, took more calls than usual (4 calls), listened to music through my speaker (still sounds weak) and played 3 songs though my bluetooth speaker, just to test it out........Plus all the normal texting, email, weather, app updates, ect...
So the battery seems to be better after initial setup, which I'm extremely glad!
Now, if I can just make it with this super weak speaker for 5 weeks until my N6P arrives, that's gonna be the hardest!

Sounds like a good plan! I never had the OPO, but it seems to still have a pretty strong following.
FWIW: I was told there was a 5-10 processing period too, ordered it Thursday evening.....Tried to cancel it a couple hours later and was told "it's already been processed and cannot be cancelled now".... It arrived Monday morning. So I think the 5-10 day is a CYA thing they use, which isn't a bad thing, I guess?
I did the Smartwatch thing earlier this year (Moto360 than a Sony SW3)... Loved it at first, but it only lasted about a month. I didn't like the bluetooth drain on the battery..... My OCD already watches my phone battery too much, with the extra drain and now another device to watch the battery on, I didn't get anything done!
Hello,
I just read that, along with the G6+, LG will deliver an update for the regular G6 which will enable a new "Lower Power Consumption" mode which is something I am very interested in. Does it really increase battery life for the G6 significantly (which would make me really consider buying it) ? I wonder if anyone has experience with this ?
Thanks !
Am I the only pissed that I spent $400+ on a phone 3 months ago and its already outdated. **** LG such Bull****.

The new one has ALL 3 things. Quad dac, wireless charging and 128gb. And more ram. Therfore the OG G6 is outdated

It's a decent difference especially the 6gb of ram. When it comes to multi tasking. And with promotions from carriers it will barely be more. Let alone they come with ear phones not a crappy Google home.

This is like saying people who bought the Galaxy S8 should be pissed about the Note 8 when it's released in August. There's always going to be the next bigger, better thing man. That's how tech is. Just be happy LG is going to release the software update to the regular G6

I hope it is some kind of tool to control apps running in the background by itself. I find the app power monitor tool in Samsung devices really useful.

Wrong that's the note 8 we new it was coming. As well as the v30. But 3 months ago no one expected to already be outdated. Opinions vary but trust me I love my phone would love it more with the + features mostly the ram. I use multiple window a lot. With ram heavy apps.

All I'm saying is that what happens when you buy tech right when it comes out. You can always wait 4 months and get it cheaper or get the next big thing.
And I think greenify is ****. I used it for awhile and saw only marginal improvement and it makes the screen flash when you turn it off while it hibernates everything and to me that was super annoying.

True 100% but I already got good deal on my phone but don't want to upgrade again. The g7 will be OLED so I'll just wait. I never use greenify. I never have battery issues and with qc. Who even cares IMO truly. Turning of data is IMO the best way to save battery.

"Aside from the bump in storage, the LG G6+ has the same specs as the standard variant, including a 5.7-inch QHD+ display, Snapdragon 821, 4GB of RAM, microSD slot, dual 13MP cameras at the back, 5MP front shooter, Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB-C, and a 3300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 and Qi wireless charging. LG is also bundling a pair of B&O Play earphones that are designed to take full advantage of the 32-bit Quad DAC."

Turning off the phone is an even better way to save battery !
Seriously, do you listen to yourself ? Why do people buy "SMARTphones" ? Why do people buy FLAGSHIPS ? To save battery by disconnecting them from the Internet ? A Nokia 100 would have been much cheaper for you. I need my flagship smartphone to do business, to be connected, to be notified, to respond in real time.
They need to fix the network switching in low signals area. If I don't force LTE only network keep switching trough 2g-3g-4g. This continuous switching causes battery drain and heating.
Hope that will fix this.
Could they have found a way to fix the high percentage of phone idle? It would be great

Because when I'm at work and I can't have my phone on me it has to be locked in my locker. I don't need it sitting their constantly updating everything. I could restrict background data on all apps I guess. Or if once I take my lunch or break I switch data back on. Bam get all my emails and FB,SC, or whatever updates right than. Or say I'm at the movie theater I don't need data on so might as well switch it off. It may be extra 5% saved over a 2 hour movie but still it all adds up right. So yes I listen to myself bit truly I have ZERO issue with my battery. We but flagships for performance and or features, does that mean we instantly have to sacrifice battery life for it? The droid ultra MAXX was sadly a decently bad phone but the battery life was amazing. LG also makes X-power phone with a monster battery and decent specs too. All phones have trade offs but still not everyone can "respond in real time" so therefore data can be shut off

Strange, I've heard no one who solved this =(
Even users that reach 6-7 sot have as second voice the phone idle, which was a serious problem on G5 too on both marshmallow and nougat.
Btw already tried to disable Qmemo+ as someone suggested, made clean installation of 10F firmware and a second reset after nothing worked.
I'm pretty sure that is a LG problem since a guy who works with me in the same place with the same operator didn't have any problems with the S7Edge before and the S8+ now. That's why I hope for a fix xD

Hey all figured I'd see how many people feel the way I do. I've had 4 Nexus 6ps. I am a massive phone junky and trade up all the time. Recently I traded a pixel for a OnePlus 3t and then ended up getting rid of it and getting another Nexus 6p Ive replaced the battery and I have a new charger port on the way Ill also be replacing the speakers at some point to. I forgot how much I love the 6p I am planning on keeping this phone through Android 9 via custom rooms obiously and I was curious who is with me! I trully like the 6p better then the pixel and think that this phone with the new battery and port should last a long while! Many people hate the 810 chip however I've never had an issue with it on any of the phones I've owned with the chip.
Me bro screens large and beautiful. Also it's still a good speed. ?
Me too. It's a nice smartphone with a good screen, a good battery life and all apps work very well and fast.
I feel like I'm on the Titanic and loving it and everyone else is jumping off getting rescued and I'm still sitting at the bar drinking the highest quality wine. I know my time is up soon but I'm loving every minute until that happens.
Till death do us part.
Lol. I'm surprised this thread hasn't been flamed yet. A lot of unhappy owners floating around.
I love this phone to bits. A recognized contributor friend just picked up a second hand unit last week...ckpv5, king of sense launcher port (rooted version)in m8 forum. No scratches or dents and so far a good battery.
My 6p takes everything I throw at it. Viper, Dolby Oreo, Pixel 2 launcher, sense 9 launcher, pixel camera MOD, xposed Oreo, ex kernel color profiles, high brightness mode, google lens in assistant...
Having the time of my life. But without and thanks to our amazing devs, the 6p will not be attractive to the average consumer.
I just got a nexus 6p to replace my moto z and plan on keeping it for a year or 2. I love the screen, the front speakers and especially the camera. This is the best camera I've had on a phone. I also love the fact that it's very developer friendly.
The battery is crap though. According to accubattery it's down to 62% health. I'll be replacing that myself something soon.
Hey there. I was the proud owner of a Xiaomi MI5, that went trough a lot, 3 screen replacement and 2 batteries, and... It was time to put it to rest, but Xiaomi have proven to be great, have no complaint whatsoever. So, i decided to give a shot to a 6P, with 1 year of use, but as good as new... So far so good, great specs, beautiful phone, so...lets see how it goes.
Bought it for 120 usd and I'll keep it as long as I can. Coming from a boring S7.
No other smart phone has the power of this hardware, + Screen size. I did research for 2 months on phones and this was the only one compairable. (buying it for 350$) no other phone matches that price + specs. None. Pixel has less screen size... less processor... and cost more.. So idk how its a 'better' phone??? I looked for unlocked HTC's droids and other brands. I'm a "phablet" guy. and no one has this power for this screen size... ill never go with a smaller phone.
I'd RATHER LOSE HARDWARE Vs SCREEN SIZE but thats just me
I had to keep it until my phone died maybe, had to use money to replace my PC, because it getting old.
Pixel first gen had to many issue, so I rather avoid it, Pixel 2/XL 2 is ridiculous expensive, I wait till the price go down.

This is exactly what I'm doing. Every new phone I look at has some downside that I'm not looking forward to. Pixel 2 has no headphone jack, OP5T has **** speakers, LG and Samsung phones have bloat and ****ty skins. This phone is perfect for me, I just get the feeling that my days with it are numbered. For now, though, it's awesome.
I almost got a pixel 2 but then I replaced the battery in my 6p instead. I'll definitely hold onto it at least until the pixel 3 phones come out.
Definitely will be keeping mine till it doesn't work anymore. I haven't change any hardware on mine including the battery though its not what it used to be but still I love my 6p till death lol. It's still fast and still works as well as I would hope for. I admit the devs are making me love it this long. I'm using ABC btw.
Been upset with battery life since Oreo upgrade. Going to flash official 7.1.2 and use it until it dies. I love my Nexus 6P!!
as long as it does not die on me i plan to keep it for a couple more years for sure.
i've had my 6p for about just a year now.
i love everything about the phone, had no issues for now thankfully.
no battery issues and no bootloop thingie, and i read often that there are users who owned the phone since launch and had zero issues with it up till now , so i hope it will turn out the same for me, and if it does then i will be good to go for a couple more years with my beloved 6p.

I'll give it a go, but I don't mind stock ROMs. I don't have any other issues and have had it since launch. The battery drain is annoying. EDIT: Can you send me a link to the ROM pls? Tried a search... no luck. Thx!
Actually, I remember Apple being investigated in Germany, or somewhere, for new iOS version making older handsets slow to force users to upgrade handsets. I suspect this maybe the same with my beloved Nexus 6P; that would make me angry.

Changed the battery exactly yesterday!
This phone is amazing! I also disabled the 4 BIG core due to the bootloop problem, but hey! My phone runs butterly smooth and cool! It's cooler then before and lasts longer without any noticeable performance drop The bootloop was a win-win trade for me xD
Just a casual discussion thread about kenzo.
I won this beast in March 2016. Redmi India Facebook page hosted a contest on the day they launched this phone in India and I won it. It was unbelievable at that time. Sadly I was sent the 2gb/16gb version. Less sadly, it didn't cost me a single penny.
I have been using this beast since then. I had been using Redmi 2 before I got it. But the new bootloader unlock policy was pretty daunting and I kept using miui for the first two months.
When I finally unlocked it, I flashed the leaked factory 5.1 lollipop rom. It was rock stable and served me for almost a year. Then i shifted to Nos Nougat and in January 2018 i shifted to Nos Oreo. After almost 8 months, I'm back to Nougat because I realized Nougat was much more stable.
Battery has declined to 79 percent of its original capacity and is somewhere around 3100 mAh now. (checked using Accubattery app). I'm still pretty happy with the battery backup. Internal storage(16gb) is the only frustrating thing about this phone.
I was really tempted to buy Note 5 Pro or Zenfone Max Pro M1 but now i think i'll hold off till February for the Note 6(pro).
Kenzo is beast of a device and if I wasn't burdened with 16gn storage, I would probably use it for another full year.
What's your experience with kenzo?
Edit - Don't forget to vote. It won't show up in forum app like Tapatalk. Use chrome to view the thread.
this year i see other phones but i see my pocket and... hahah
really i think:
my phone is for little apps/ClashRoyale/Navigate/Play music/Pay with QR Codes.
and this phone had good battery... good hardware, at this moment 3gb device is very good for me (but my next device i try to buy with 4gb or 6gb) with a new Qualcomm 6xx again.
today... i dont need other phone (but is a good moment to resell this in my country).
in other words i buy my next phone in the last quarter of 2019. (Xiaomi again).
im very happy with this device.
I own my beast from October 2016 and boi its my first personal new phone and I will never sell it. Lollipop was what it came with but soon installed and marmsallow 8.1.1.0 if remember. Then I after 4months of miui I unlocked bootloader and got into the world of custom roms. I tried AOSiP nougat first 7.1.1 and it was the best back then and gave me 10hrs sot always if anyone wants to know it was 31/1/2017 build of AOSiP. Then came Oreo 8.0 which was worse than 7.1.1 and then 8.1 in December 2017 with pixel experience. I love my redmi very much but I am planning to get the essential phone but as I said never sell this kenzo.
Using mine since October 2016 and still loving it. Was tempted by Redmi note 5 pro but only because of camera otherwise my phone satisfies all needs. Will use it until it stops working or screen gets cracked. Then I will buy the latest Redmi phone with dual camera.
Gonna change the battery and use it till it dies on me
I will use it till I get into college. Probably next year.
I got this beast in about August of 2016, rooted as soon as warranty expired. Then I was actually waiting for MIUI nougat for this and after I got tired I installed nos, I didn't really like it, and tried RR, was really happy with it and then shifted to oreo rr later. Now using havoc pie, pretty smooth. I know there are many new devices right now and My parents wouldn't really mind buying me new one. But I just love my phone. It beautiful and it never lets me down. So I'm gonna keep it for a long time. How much? Tbh I don't know.

i planned to use it till it ded. probably have to change the battery too..
It was love at first sight for me, I read about this device on one of my local news site, and I just couldn't resist, its price and design was perfect, and still is. The 4000mAh battery, the fingerprint sensor was a big deal for me. The development for this phone was amazing, and still is, even after 2,5 years. I hope Kenzo development will still be active, good to see some new devs around here and for now
I repaired mine some days ago and looks like brand new Ordered back cover and screen from Ebay, swapped the motherboard and the other parts into the new one and it rocks just like in its golden age.
Until the phone can't accept new android version of course ?
Still a nice phone although already 2 years old, then the development still strong too until now, that's what i like from this device
battery? i've changed 1 times bcoz the first one is getting worse after i playing the phone but with charging, and always charging at night..
fingerprint? yeah i remember i changed that bcos the first quarter of oreo development for kenzo and some ported miui nougat rom, the supported fingerprint only fpc, but shortly after that, the goodix patch came up wtf ?
emmc? willing to change that too if only the rom development still going up
so i haven't any reason to change for now, really happy to have kenzo
(although sometimes want poco f1, but not for now ?)
I will definitely keep using it untill next android version comes up
When I bought my Kate, I thought it will be just a temporary device until I find something better for the price - better specs, better camera, same price as the phones are getting cheaper with time.
Since 2017 january this is my primary device and until here on XDA I see that there are still developers who build usable and fast roms for this phone (or something happens and my device ends up in pieces) I'm not even thinking about changing it... maybe I surprise myself with a new phone for my graduation next year, but this will be a Xiaomi device with snapdragon too, who knows, maybe a new Redmi note or a Poco.

LOL, I said exactly the same when nougat rolled out ages ago and still using this with pie (I'm not laughing on you, I'm laughing on myself and the situation )
Love my RN3 (Kate) but its time as a daily driver is officially over - I just bought the Honor 10 last night, so...
I have been on NOS since Oreo but all of a sudden my camera and bluetooth started having trouble and crashing A LOT.. I can't reflash my daily driver all the time so onwards and upwards I guess!
Will totally keep my RN3 for games cause battery life and general fluidity are still ace. Might load it up with Pie down the line and keep it as a secondary.

Actually it'll work best on Nougat because of the simple fact that our devs had lot of blobs from Mi Max which had the same chip and got official miui nougat. Oreo is also good but it'll never be as stable as nougat.
I got kenzo in august 2016 I believe, before I had Nokia X, one of the first Nokia phones to come with android. So this year I moved to whyred (RN5).
My experience with Kenzo (3/32GB) was great, best phone I ever had, best community and one of the best custom rom support. After I installed gcam, the phone value and awesomeness grew even bigger.
Of course I've also had issues, my phone came with goodix fingerprint, we all know how all the newest roms had problems with this sensor and most weren't supporting it from the start, but as I said above the community was and still is great and some people found solutions very fast.
In december 2016, I dropped my phone on asphalt. This was the result https://imgur.com/L1rPzis
I was so angry with the situation, my beautiful phone, with an ugly crack on it's screen. Luckily the digitizer wasn't damaged and the screen worked.
After a while some yellow spots started appearing in the upper left corner down to middle, but only when the phone was hot and it was noticeable on grey and white backgrounds.
I took a picture of the screen while phone was warm https://imgur.com/RG9qAaa Even the MI logo from the back came off https://imgur.com/mMxbtMH
So I used it like this until June this year, after I got RN5, I didn't used it much. But I also didn't want the phone to die in this horrible state, so guess what I did, ordered a display with frame and silver back like original from aliexpress. I will also order a new battery from my country for like 10 dollars. My phone battery also is around 3100 mAh according to accubattery.
Also power button and volume up register twice sometimes, because those plastic claps from the frame broke and back cover doesn't attach all the way, that's why I bought screen with frame, also easier to move parts from one frame to another.
Maybe next week the parts arrive, I could post an update maybe. I want to keep this phone as long as I can because it's legendary.

I haven't ordered yet, but the store is in Romania, if it helps I'll provide you with link http://www.magazingsm.ro/acumulator-xiaomi-original-438
Or you could try ordering one of these
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/400...8.0&pvid=92baf464-8d42-4024-982e-e42b27f53e9d
Although no guarantees that the capacity is 4000 mAh.
