Has anyone used the Rikaline X7 blue tooth gps with tom tom 2 + a BT200head set with the XDA II ? are there any issues using the phone and the GPS at the same time ?
i would like to know the answer to this as well if somebody could enlighten us. plz
hi i am using a rikaline x7 gps and a sony ericsson HBH35 head set
with the patch from bluetooth tools find that the rikalinex7 is sluggish when you make a turn the map is slow to respond is ok unless you have to make two or three quick turns,oh thats with tomtom 2
does anyone know if the internal back up battery in the X7 is replaceable????
(does anyone know if the internal back up battery in the X7 is replaceable)
don't think it has a back up battery just a main battery which is replaceable
 (will run on a nokia 3310 battery which is 3.6V Li-ion 900mAh)
the Rikaline battery is a 3.7v 1650mAh Li-polymer
The rikaline web site shows the unit having an internal back up battery, quote
"Power
Internal Back up 3.3V (1,000Hrs)"
http://www.rikaline.com.tw/bluetooth_gps.htm
I am trying to find out if this back up battery charges when the main battery is put on charge of if the X7 becomes a piece of land fill when it goes flat. Can the user replace this battery, I know the main battery can be replaced and can be recharged ???????
I think what they are saying is from a fully charged battery the x7 will stay in standby mode for 1,000Hrs there is no on/off Switch
Why would it need a back up battery if the main batterys flat recharge it
At most you will have to rebond the blue tooth
or email them but i bet im right
I have sent rikaline UK an e mail but the did not answer the questions, they just told me that I could buy a X7 through one of their dealers !! So much for technical support.
ok you got me at it
As the paper work that came with it says
Once you put the battery in the unit,The unit starts to work for you .There is no on-off switch in the unit. It is all ways in stand-by mode with very low power comsumption at 5mA.the battery will run out of power itself after 14 days (336hours)if it get no recharge.you may take the battery outif no use for long time.
I have taken my one apart and cannot see a (backup battery inside)
Can tell you that you would still need the patch from
http://www.angeltowns.com/town/bluetooth/
Even with the latest tomtom gps drivers
think that should just about answer it for you, apart from the headset
ps don't drop one of the Screws on the shed floor if you take one apart takes about a hour to find again
how do I open the file once it is downloaded to the XDA main memory. I have down loaded it and now cant find how to open it ??????????
the screen displays " there is no application associated with BTHTools1012cab run the application first then open this file from within the application. ?????????????????/
Hey guys, I'm satisfied with almost every aspect of the prophet, except battery time...
I mean in suspend the battery is great. But what if you want to do any real work on the prophet? This is what I get:
Screen off, Wifi on (useful for skype, IMs etc.)
3.45 hrs from full charge
Screen on, all else off (word processing, games etc.)
3.50 hrs from full charge
Screen on, Wifi on (email, internet)
3.40 hrs from full charge
Now tell me if this is not too little?
This is off course with normal battery.
You could set your screen to the lowest brightness that you can use also set the wifi to its lowest power setting these 2 functiions are the biggest users of power in my view
Radio ON, Wifi OFF, Screen backlight at level 2 or 3 (when outside). Some data connections, few Wifi cnx too (then turned OFF), 1 or 2 syncs using Bluetooth and my SPV M600 battery runs about 5Hrs according to my "upmeter" ( free at http://ae.inc.ru )
You can buy on Ebay a 1800mah bat. (50% more power than the original bat.)
just curious,
do u have phm traylaunch enabled ?
mine sux the juice out of my prophet whenever I enabled the traylaunch..
Is that 1800 mAh battery with extended thickness? if not it might be worth it.
I dont use phm tray launcher. But wifi and display are on quite frequently.

I do have PHM TrayLaunch installed but did not notice faster battery drain. Is this something you just experienced or did anyone else comment about this problem?
Battery is way shorter in the Prophet than in any other device i've had before. Same usage of course.
I could live with this limit, but can not stand with some other wm5 imposse on us, such as max size on contact notes field, or the inability to sync via BT.
Am I the only one missing my trusted JAM?
I am not sure its shorter than in other devices of similar features, but I do know for me its not enough. I think the Jam would actually be way shorter with Xscale over omap processor. So no, i would not say you've made the wrong choice.
Not sure what you mean about no synching over BT? It should work fine!
BTW, anyone know about this 1800mAh battery on ebay that apparently does not increase thickness?

IMHO battery life IS shorter, as a matter of fact. I know about the OMAP, but it takes two of them, so.....
BT syncing simply does not work. Maybe it's a matter of XP-WM5 combination, but fact is that my prophet "does not find a PC with the active Sync service" Any help on that?
I've been able to get TomTom 5 to work, pair with several headsets and handsfree devices, but no way around the Active Sync issue, no matter what the COM ports or tricks I've tried. I even changed BT drivers from Widcomm to MS in my notebook, same result.
I haven't read about the large capacity battery, but if this is going to be "oversized" or make it heavier, I'd rather would take an extra USB cable around the office or my notebook.

Well just to let the curious know, I received the 1800 mah battery, the one also priced on ebay, with NO thickness increase, and I cannot believe it...
It just keeps going and going and going. I did the same tests as above, and could not get it to run out.
Wifi on (all else off) lasted for about five hours and was still arround 68%
Screen on all else off lasted for about 6 hours from an 85% charge and it was still on 39%...
I mean I know the math 1800 is 50% more than 1200, but I seem to be getting A LOT more than 50%. Any explanations?
Sync via Bluetooth is perfectly working for me.
You have to create a BlueTooth Com Port from your PC. Just follow instructions in ActiveSync Help File.
I can listen to mp3 for more than 4hours with screen off... and with a BlueTooth Headset... Maybe it's draining less power coz it just sends the signal and doesn't have to use external speakers...
hum... the 1800mh battery seems great... is it really good quality ?
I will keep you posted as I keep testing it in the next few days, but so far I'm impressed.
The maker is the same as the original battery (DynaPack) so quality is the same.
The battery is shorter because the phone is always registering on the GSM network.
It has some kind of bug in it.
You can check this by going to Settings > Phone > Network and check that the current network is sometimes flashing "home service" instead of the name of the operator.

anyone seen 2500mah ? I'm trying to find out if it bigger.
2500mah? seems kinda fake to me if it is the same size and thickness as a 1200mah or 1800mah battery.
The 1800mah extended battery is possible because they removed the hard plastic cover on top of the battery so they can fit a slight bigger capacity battery.
these 1800mah batteries (says not dynopack on ad, just chinese copy!) are they much heavier, i have just ordered one, bit concerned they may actually be lithium ion (not lithium polymer)
Hi
I'm looking for a SW to display current consumption on my Touch HD in order to check which program I use drains my battery
In particular I would like to measure the GPS consumption because I think this is the main reason
I tried acbtaskman but it can't read the power consumption
- This SW can keep monitoring and display a history graph even when the device is "OFF"
- the SW show power consumption only during charging
I also tried home screen++ that has a thread here but this program only shows one number and not historic graph
Would appreciate your help in finding the right program or setting parameters
Moti
You could give PowerGuard a try
even powerguard ist not able to read consumption on Blackstone.
Is there any other tool?
I had no problems with battery since I´ve deinstalled some software. but now it´s unbelievable bad.
How can I solve this?
There's no immediate correllation between consumption and a particular process running or installed on your device. It's the way that certain software is designed that may cause increased consumption, but it's almost impossible to catch unless you know how exactly this software is impacting your battery life.
Hard reset, install your software one at a time and watch battery life.
Once you have found the culprit, hard reset again and don't install it this time.
I've been using "battery guard" which seems to do similar to what you want. It only gives you a total, however you can add and subtract what you want to monitor ie. GPS,Audio etc, and that should help somewhat.
My battery consumption is also higher than I would expect (about 180mA with nothing turned on)....I'd be interested to hear what other peoples usage is.
My battery consumption is 180-190 mA too (basic sw running and light on). Seems quite high.
When charging PowerGuard (v1.3) shows some 200-210 mA, can I assume that the charging current is ~400mA?
Is there a way to decrease the power consumption?
Thanks
2 amp car charger
Not sure, but I think you get 500mA charge from USB & 1A through powerpoint. I've been trying to find agood car charger as 500mA doesn'tcut it when running GPS. I found a 2A one
http://www.netimes.com/shop/2000-ma-miniusb-htc-mobile-car-charger-p-1342.html?cPath=80_612
I'm still trying to figure out if 2 amp is safe. I think the phone limits input so I think so. If anyone knows better, please enlighten me.
Sammy
At home I use 2500mA charger
In the car I use a 2000mA charger
The vaiues measured by PowerGuard are s mentioned above (~400mA)

Which car charger do you use? and how long have you been using it? I just noticed the only review on the one I looked at was verynegative. Says his device was killed on the 2nd use.

Hello, i just installed powerguard v1.3 but when i tried to open it its says..
"error..missing method exception, this application requires a newer version of the microsoft .net compact framework than the version installed on this device? whats that mean guys?
Cheers Paul.

Ok so I went ahead an bought this one.....piece of ****....I should have known.....
It doesn't supply 2 amps (even though it says so on the box. At best, it delivers 500mA. I went back to the site and they no longer supply it....looks like I was the final sucker to fall for their false advertising.
Try this little app
Cheers Spartan
Nice little program.
This video : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqdHFmKq57c
Says if you drain your htc hd 2 battery full out. And then charge it full. It will work longer.
Is this right? And some pp says its bad for your battery.

well.. the idea originated from laptop battery tricks and some facts about the technical side of the problem.
If i try to simply put it, a laptop battery contains (beside the actual battery) a small pcb that has a charge/discharge controller and a eeprom memory chip (among others). The point of having these is also pretty simple. The battery actively communicates with the laptop via a i2c interface, so that the laptop always knows the state of the plugged in battery. The laptop itself can't measure the current or voltage of the battery and doesn't know it's capacity or composition. Instead the chips inside the battery does all this work and reports it to the laptop. That's how the laptop knows when you plug a different capacity battery or other things. The percentage of power remaining is measured by the chip inside the battery and stored in a volatile memory also contained on the small pcm inside. This memory can be accesed by the laptop and from there, it will display you the remaining power left (in percents %). This is updated as long as there is any notable difference from what the chip measures from the battery cells and what was the last measurement made. So.. what would happen if you would charge the battery to 100% full, then disassemble it, remove the 100% charged cells and replace them with 50% charged ones.
When you would start the laptop next time, it will STILL display 100% charge, the last measurement, and will assume this state is valid for the cells. When the physical batteries will drop the charge level with 1% the laptop would display 99%. So around 50% displayed the batteries will actually be empty. When you charge them back, the laptop would start from 50% and go back to 100%. The actual batteries would get only 50% energy, so they won't get fully charged, therefore you get less battery life.
Of course, this is a very exagerated scenario, but in practice, sometimes small errors can occur, when the physical level of the batteries is a bit different to what the battery controller recorded. In this case, a full discharge then recharge can help to correct this issues (but only if you're talking about couple percents - not more).
But... when we're talking about phones, things are quite different. The communication algorithm between the battery and phone is more simpler and the battery itself doesn't know it's charge state. The phone will actively probe the battery in order to update it's status. So, if i remove the battery and drain it somehow, the phone will display it's correct physical charge next time i plug it in. This is possible because a phone battery and the phone itself is simpler by design then a laptop for example.
So why laptops used such complicated charge algorithms? Mainly because 2 reasons. One because laptop batteries are dangerous things. If improperly charged or damaged they CAN explode. If the cells are damaged, overcharged or the temperature is high, the controller chip will change the state of the eeprom memory so that the laptop and it's OS to see that the battery was damaged/empty and shutdown at once. The other reasons is quite commercial based. The charge controller counts each charge cycle and stores it in that eeprom memory. So if the manufacturer specified a specific number for the charge cycles, when this number is reached, the controller will simply rewrite the eeprom and state that the battery is "dead". So.. go get a new one.
I disassembled many batteries and among "dead" ones, i found many cases where the cells were actually in pretty good shape and functional. I measured cells with more then half the original design capacity still available, but the battery pack was reported as being "dead".
So back to hd2. As i've stated, phones use simpler charge/discharge algorithms. The better part is that they are more simplistic and efficient at measuring the actual physical state of the battery. So, a calibration isn't required like on some laptops.
However, sometimes is good to have a full discharge/recharge cycle. This being because of the chemistry of such a battery. It won't do miracles, it won't make the battery last longer on a charge but it could prolong overall battery life. Lithium is a very reactive element, a deep discharge about once a month will help reduce the effects of naturally occuring oxidation of such materials in an electrolytic compound.
hello all and kernel maker and developer ...
i want to ask regarding to many information about zuk z1 capability to bypass charging and directly using power from charger if we fully charged our battery, so our zuk z1 battery wont get overcharged
on of the information is like this :
click it said:
Now, ZUK did something rather interesting in order to keep the battery fresh for a longer period of time. The company has implemented another chip into the device which essentially lets the system be powered directly from the charger. What does this mean? Well, once ZUK Z1 stops charging, the charger will power your phone directly, while the battery will sit there fully charged until you unplug your device. It would be nice if more OEMs started doing something like this considering the fact battery life is most probably the number one issue in today’s smartphones.

my question are :
1. is true and automatic working ? or we must activate something like button or setting ?
2. is it works with many other 3rd party charger available on the market ? because i'm using 3rd party charger that have 4 usb slot
3. is it need to be on official ROM official KERNEL
4. is it still available when we rooted, unlock bootloader, etc
i'm sorry my question rather weird, since there is other android phone maker that cut their fitur (like camera quality and others) when we unlock and root our devices.
until now I'm still using timer to charge my zuk z1 while sleeping (set for 3 hours), since i'm still affraid my battery health (considering it is internal battery and I doub't zuk z1 service center in my country)
thankx a lot
You should REALLY start working on your english...
hahaha ... sorry my english is poor
actually i want to ask is the bypassing charging fitur while the battery is 100% charged still available, while we unlock, root, using different rom or different kernel ?
