Hi,
A couple of questions:
1. is there any way to install the openGapps? I get insufficient storage with the Nano version.
2. I set my formated my SD card as internal storage. but now the storage setting crashes and I don't have any extra space. (I reflashed the rom and nothing) when the sd is out the storage setting works fine.
everything else is great. But I really need to sync my google contacts, email and calendar ...
thank you
I went with pico and it worked fine ... just had to install other apps from play store ...
all is good now, except I still don't know if the SD is being used or not ... (Storage setting still crashing)

Just flashed [EU/TMOUS][CWR] imilka's HD Sense Series v2.0 1.84[D2EXT][K:rafpigna 1.7 OC] on my hd2 which is an EU one. Had partitioned my 16GB sd card using MiniTool Partition Wizard, making 2 partitions i.e. about 11GB FAT32 and almost 4GB EXT2, both primary. Just copied the zip file of the ROM on my sd card and ran it through AD Recovery (400mb setup one, which is recommended with this ROM). Everything went smooth but after the installation, even if i run the browser i get the message: Storage Full..you dont have enough free space remaining in your phone's storage, whereas in Settings, SD&phone storage my Internal phone storage shows 3.52GB available. I also cannot install any new apps due to this problem.
Any help would be much appreciated.
its suggested not to use larger than 2gb ext partition
Had a same problem with my favorite Hyperdroid. After flashing i could not even receive any sms becaus they were rejected because of no space. And i did not have anything weired installed... I solved it by completly formatting again and tnen the whole prodcedure again.. Sorry but that was the only way that helped me;-) But actually i could not solve the prob itselve...
Thanks for your reply. Yes, mine is the same problem, can't even receive emails or browse the internet, the message keeps showing up. I'm ready to repeat the whole process by formmatting my sd card, but I have some simple questions (might sound a little naive as i'm new to flashing android):
1- Do I need to make only 2 partitions? Fat32 and an ext partitions?
2- Do I need to keep any other files on any of these partitions except the ROM before I start flashing through Recovery?
3- Do you also suggest, like Richy99 does, to keep the ext up to 2GB only?
just discovered answers to the above questions. Repeated the whole precess, repartitioned my sd card (this time 2gb ext), and finally got rid of that storage full message. There's a lag though...seems to be slow on my hd2. Moreover, I cant uninstall the apps that came with this. The uninstall button remains grey.

a) Use 1GB ext, NOT 2GB.
b) Lag is beacuse its a DHD rom, you need to wait for all the apps to sync or wait for OS to settle down. Let everything sync and then do a few reboots and wait some hours. Once everything has settled lag should be gone.
c) If you want to remove stuff use "System App Remover" from market.
d) Read your roms instructions properly.
Hi,
yesterday i installed the last build of Kitkat from CM 11. It works very good but i have still one Problem. I installed the Whatsapp apk from Playstore and want wo authentifcate with SMS but this doesnt work. He said the SMS Authentification doesnt work for this phone.
The telephone authetification works great.
The other one Problem ist to Restore the Whole Data from SD Card. At my Opinion i must only copy the old whatsapp data to sd Card. On start of Whatsapp the app scans the SD Card an found an restore an recover it.
He didnt find my Whatsapp Folder on ExtSD Card and also on Internal SD Card.
Hopefully someone could help.
Thx Matthias
Hello, i recently come back to the "dark world" of Android purchasing the P9lite.
Nice specs, good bargain for the price.
Then i decided to put a microSD card into it, and with my usuall luck, it seems this feature (of a normal Android 6.0 Phone) is disabled.
Any suggestion / Help ?
Unfortunately, Android's compability with SD cards declines with every new version, no idea why though.
Your problem can be solved the easy way - if you are rooted that is.
If rooted, check this site for possible solutions:
http://www.tomsguide.com/forum/id-2...d-setting-card-default-download-location.html
However, normally Android 6.0 SHOULD be able to use the SD card as adoptable storage. I don't remember though if the P9 Lite asks you how to use the card on first insert. This method requires encrypting and formatting though. See here for info:
https://source.android.com/devices/storage/adoptable.html
I don't really have the problem because I only install few apps and no games whatsoever so the 16GB internal storage is enough for me.
Pictures and music are on my SD.
If you want to root, check the excellent guides here on the forum. Really takes you like 5 minutes with some basic knowledge

You can make your microSD your default storage location for all apps by changing in Settings:
Settings > Advanced Settings > Memory & Storage > Default Location > choose your microSD here
To my understanding, this will make all your apps (Whatsapp, Facebook, etc.) to use your microSD instead of Internal Storage.

Sorry i dont use sd card on my p9lite. But my phone is perfect except the signal issue
My old phone is ASUS zenfone 4, now im using huawei p9 lite. I wanted to transfer all my data n apps in asus to huawei. but it seems that i cant find the transfer data apps
how can i transfer all my data n apps to my new phone?
Is it possible to just install a custom ROM like CyanogenMod? I heard that this one supports this feature.
maybe nougat will fix this?
hopefully nougat will allow us to do this!!
Emui doesn't support adoptable storage and move apps on SD card. I think it's a marketing choice so they incentive users to upgrade to a better phone with more memory but that has an higher price.
I tried in the past to force adoptable storage with adb but without success, the only way it's to install a custom ROM based on CyanogenMod/LineageOS.

i think apps will be installed on sd this way, as the used internal storage doesn't increase much when installing apps.
Hello everyone, I've the same issue. I root my device in order to be able to move my apps to micro sd card and set it up as default storage. And now, it looks that's not so easy.
I've formated my micro sd (32Gb) on my PC with Mini Tools Partitions Wizard like this : First partition : Create as Primary ; File System : fat32 ; Cluster Size Default ; Partition Size 19000Mb. Second partition : Create as Primary ; File System Ext2 ; Cluster Size Default ; Partition size 11521.93 Mb. Then I apply modifications. I insert the microsd card in my device, I reboot (don't know if needed), I open Link2SD, I try to move the app Messenger to sd card and I get : Failure "Error: java.lang.illegalStateException:รข~fNo suitable external storage available". After that I touch on an other app "Messagerie" (Default app), and here I have the posibility to select 'Link to SD card, I try and I get the error : "Second partition not found, /dev/block/ : device not found, make sure you have two partitions on your SD card and both are primary."
In the Link2SD settings, I can't select the option "Auto link" or open "Auto link settings" it's grey and disabled.
Has someone read any news about that since March ? The P 9 Lite is a great phone but 16 Go internal storage is to tight ! Thank you for your help.
I removed my sd card for taking pictures from lappi and when I again insert it my phone is not showing sd card pictures .perhaps sd card is working fine in other mobiles what should I do?
I bought a 2015 J5 for Mrs Baldrick and she was delighted with the size and general speed but - like a lot of folks - she quickly started to hit the low memory warning: to the point were with only 5-6 apps loaded she was having to ask me to clean out email and text caches every 2-3 days.
We just got the 6.0.1 update and I bought a larger micro sd card and moved all of her photos out of the internal memory and that has got the phone back to around 1.5gb / 1.6gb of free internal storage space but that is still not great and I want to find a better long term solution.
My wife doesn't want me 'messing up her phone up doing weird things with it' so what I was thinking of is:
1. Install TWRP via ODIN
2. Use TWRP to install the adoptable storage patch (and root the phone with SuperSU while I'm at it)
3. Stick in a new 64GB microSD, format and adopt as additional internal storage.
4. Migrate existing internal data to the new storage.
5. Make sure the photo, video and music apps are defaulting to the new storage space to store their files.
6. Use root privilege to uninstall a lot of the default Samsung and Vodafone bloatware (like the full MS office apps)
Any other tricks I'm missing here or is this as good a solution as I can get without going for CM13 or similar? Anyone worked out exactly which default apps can be safely zapped?
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Just use app2sd with classic method selected . Any Huge apps like snapchat or google maps can be moved to sd without formatting it as adoptable sd. Also when you update in playstore app will remain on sd.
Hello, i'm new to the forums so i apologize if i shouldn't be posting this here, but i need help.
I have a Samsung Galaxy On7 with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. I was happy with the phone and liked everything it had to offer me, except for one critical flaw that is driving me nuts: IT'S STORAGE.
I started downloading my apps so i could transfer them to my 16Gb SD card, which i happily bought for the purpose of this new phone... But little did i know that simple storaging concept changed with Android Marshmallow (before this phone i've only used Lollipop and KitKat). Apps weren't automatically being placed in the SD card. Fine, i could move them myself anyway, right? But it only transferred about 10 or 15 Mbs... Useless. My phone was struggling after installing WhatsApp and Messenger just because i couldn't move them from the phone storage, and 5 out of 8 Gbs of phone storage were occupied by bloatware. I could just root it and delete those, but i use more than 8 Gbs anyway so i considered that option meaningless.
I naturally did research on what options i had to fix this. Tutorials listed an option which "merges" your SD card and use it as internal storage. Now God knows why Samsung decided to get rid of that option, i simply don't have it.
I figured i could install a Nougat ROM but i never installed a ROM before, and the fact that i have a Samsung might mean the problem still persists after that, so maybe i could just downgrade to Lollipop and problem solved. I just need to hear from someone it's going to work before trying it myself.
If there are more options i'd be more than happy to listen to them, i'm at the point where i can't update apps anymore, while i have 16 Gigs unused...
that's the sad thing about this device. it's internal storage is not much and it got some bloatware. I just stayed on minimal user installed apps. Also moving an app to sd card is reducing the apps performance.
Actually there's a solution for the merging SD storage with Internal storage problem. Although Samsung has disabled it there's a patch here in the Forum to bypass that.
Here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/patch-adoptable-storage-enabler-t3460478
I used it on mine and worked just fine.
One more thing. I actually opted for two solutions: (1) root and uninstall bloatware and (2) apply the patch through TWRP and merge the storages.
Good luck.

I highly recommend not doing it. I have rooted my Samsung on7 (G600FY) only to use this resource but it didn't work.
I could install the patch through TWRP but there were no options on Settings -> Storage -> Format SD as Internal. Only Portable Format was available. Then, after some searches I could do it with Root Essentials App, it did the trick but still all my apps were getting installed in the internal memory (even I did migration to SD), also it kept showing Full Storage messages like before (even tough there was more than 29gb free after the "merge").
Back to 0.
So is this topic is useless? It doesnt work?
If everyone tried and it still failed, why not closing this topic?
I was having same problem with this device. But now I have fixed it!
Before storage was 97% and I have only 2 apps: Mozilla FireFox and Samsung Max VPN.
And my all other apps and games were in SD card.
But now I have 88% storage (just reduced a good amount)
Its simple just open Settings > Applications > Applications Manager
Now pick those apps which you don't use them anymore. Like Chrome, Google Photos, Samsung Internet, GDrive, etc.
Select on those app and click on 3 dot > select "Uninstall Updates".
When you do this, the app will be uninstalled and replaced by factory version of app which is lower in size.
Just do these to apps like GDrive, GPhotos because you can access them on web too.
