Display heavy to press - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hey Guys i bought Friday my phone.
Now i habe problems with the touchscreen.
If i want to write fast or normally i have to press the right side heavy and stronger then the left side. So i have to press the letters P L and M more often the other ones. It looks like the display on the right side is not functional for 100%.
Have someone the same problems?
And i had a screenprotector from the trader in the phone so it have to be on the complete screen if the protector is the reason.
Thank you guys

Hey I did it on Friday and nothing changed
When the phone is in landscape format it's possible to write normally cause the letters are on the side of the buttons.

The phone does come with a screen protecter. Have you removed it? I did since it caused me problems with touchscreen sensitivity the first few days.

The screen protector just reduced the touch sensitivity its like using the phone while wearing leather gloves. Id recommend just removing it. And leave the case on. Same protection but should solbe your problem as well.

Its worth a shot and find out but if thats not the case then you can always make a claim and get an exchange since it might be a hardware problem.

Hey you are right dude!
The reason was this kind of screenprotector. I put it today off and had no problems with the display.
Thanks a lot.

The protector that comes with the phone is horribly dimensioned over 2.5D glass. It has air gaps in its right & left edges due to them being curved. I couldn't effectively touch near both edges so I threw away the protector. It also isn't compatible with the soft case. So I ditched the screen protector for the body protection. It's gorilla glass anyway.

Had the same problem. The screen protector didn't stuck well on the edges and I had trouble trying to move icons from one screen to another. Get rid of that thing.

Hi guys. Can someone tell me, this device have preinstaled screen protector or not? Im buy it used and dont know ...

Keyboard transparent stripe scratched

Hi,
the keyboard transparent upper part is being scratched. I don't know if it depends on the contact with the ppc body when it comes in contact with keyboard, but as this transparent stripe has been made with some like plastic - pexyglass material, I supposed it would be easy for it being scratched. Any suggestion to remove scratches? I know it should exist some specific product usually used to repair cellular display scratched, but really I don't know if I have to try to use it...

Yep same problem here and most likely with everyone who uses the keyboard.
Removing the scratches IMHO is a waste of time as they will reoccur in due time, unless you remove them and then buy and apply some cheap screen protector material to apply to the plastic to prevent it being scratched again.
Even the main unit suffers from scratches due to the poor design of the keyboard/unit fit.
Thanx for your replay,
when you say even the main unit suffers from scratches due to the poor design of the keyboard/unit fit, you mean the metal body or display?
In your opinion the product above could eliminate scrtaches or it's a waste of time?

The metal body. If it hasn't happened to you yet, you may be able to prevent it by doing a bit of DIY. Look for scratches on the inside lip of the casing (near the screen) by the Vue Flko button. Apparently the keyboard connectors have 2 little protruding black plastic bits that scratch that part of the unit over time.
Don't know if filing it down is a good idea though.
eheh sorry but what is DIY? A kind of woodoo rite to avoid it?

Just to inform you that product usually used to repair cellular display scratched...WORKS!!!
I went to a shop in Hong Kong last night and they helped me to covered the keyboard with a 3M transparent protector, I asked them to cover the two "pointly stick" near the connectors and hope it will help to solve the scratch near the "vlo" button. It costs around US10 for the protector.
please can you link me this 3M product?

(WARNING) Mirror/Reflective Screen Covers

Hello all,
Just wanted to post up a warning about purchasing mirror/protective screen covers for your TP/Fuze/Diamond!
I purchased these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=250365082878
the overall quality of them seems great, they have a protective covering on both sides for the application process (similar to "Screen Guards" brand covers).
but..... upon installation this is the result:

As you can see, it makes the phone almost unusable due to the rainbow effect... what is odd is it doesn't have that effect if I look at the phone from an extreme angle, so if I look at it with the phone laying flat and my eyes right near the hardware keys, it doesn't look rainbowy.... bleh
Just an FYI! has anyone had similar experiences?
Thx
JFlitt
That seems to just be the way those mirror finish screen protectors are. I bought a cut to size proporta echo one for my samsung p2 mp3 player and its like a truck full of carebears exploded on my screen. My buddy also got one for his sprint touch pro, same result.
I don't have a white background screen, it's entirely black. Everything on my phone is black-themed so I don't have the distortion of colors as much. That may solve the problem. Either that, or get another screen protector.
for years now I have been using the Brando Screen protectors.
I've used them on all my pdas, media players and cell phones. The quality and clarity are unbeatable if you ask me.
I just cleaned my old SE W850 which my son now uses. the screen protector has been on the phone for 2 years now and it is still sitting fine! (no corner lift). Sure, the protector is a little scratched after 2 years of service but the phone underneath is as good as new!

Greatest quote ever.
Hahah agreed on the carebears statement, pretty damn funny!
Anywho, I will say this much though, that seller who I bought these from on ebay has been really great as far as customer service is concerned. I emailed him letting him know about this issue and sent these pictures along. He couldn't believe that is what they looked like and was very angry at the factory for providing a product like this. He is sending me 3 clear and 3 anti-glare protectors to make up for this (which I think is very commendable). It would seem that the problem with these is related to the polarization used to cause the mirror effect and then let the light through when the light is on behind the cover.... what is odd is it clears up if I look down the phone holding it flat..... very intesting and annoying!
Just thought I would let everyone know!
I can't wait either.... I feel like I'm tripping on something every time I use my phone as it is now haha!!
Thanks
JFlitt
Not sure exactly what seems to be causing this. As I did have similar mirror screen protectors on my Kaiser and never experienced this.
Perhaps these are simply a bad batch / brand.
I am still running on the stock smooth screen protector (using the tape cleaning method) however, once that peels off I will begin my search for either a mirror, privacy or anti-glare. I haven't found one that I really liked of any so far.
Looks a little like a moiré pattern. See what happens if you put the screen protector on at a 90 degree angle (yes, it will be only partially protected, but this is just a test). If it is less notable, it appears the LCD elements on the screen are lining up with the way the screen protector is cut. Same thing will happen on a digital photo copier. The way the CCD "sees" line art can sometimes do that if the original is a "screen" print (very very small tiny dots as opposed to a solid image). You can "simulate" the effect by taking a good quality pair of sunglasses, and hold it over something like a digital wristwatch with LCD screen, and rotate the sunglasses clock-counter clockwise until the image on the watch disappears.
Not much you can do but get a different brand of screen protector.
Seems to be polarized by the way I see my mirror screen protector. Mine does it too. I have polarized sunglasses and when I turn the phone 90' it goes black (almost, but close enough) so that's why I think it might be polarized.
Also, they scratch to easy for me.
I bought one along with 3 regular screen protectors...honestly the only complaint I have is fingerprints are much more apparent. The rainbow effect is very rare for me...only at a certain angle with enough light...just my 2 cents...

Today I broke my HD2 screen
Anyone knows if are outside guides to change the screen like hd2 official service guides and any shop that sell "cheap" (compared to official service) hd2 screens?

I use the phone as an alarm clock.
When sounded, I took it to shut it down and I dropped into bed. When going to pick it up accidentally leaned on the screen by making some pressure and I broke it

Damn! I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to replace, but if you don't think you can do it yourself better get someone else to do it! It will end up being cheaper than having to replace the whole phone

With most phones the screen is separate from the main board and chipsets etc. As far as I am aware usually the screen will be screwed in but not embedded into it. Though I could be wrong!!..... Just hoping to give some optimism
The screen is replaceable. You're not so lucky, man
Well, seeing this image actually hurts directly to my heart!
Anyway, search on eBay, but I don't think that there is any replacement part as the phone is completely new.
I did the same just now, except it's not the actual glass that's broken but it looks like the screen underneath. That however is completely shot, again, anybody know if it's possible to replace this?
And for those interested, pictures.
Result after dropping from about chest hight on the ground.

Repost, sorry
Mine's back with the service repair centre in the UK for a cracked screen and have just had my quote for repair £118.
No one else seems to have the spares.
The screen itself and surround was quoted at £78 labour £22, and the rest is for delivery.
The service centre isn't the quickest it's taken them a week from receiving the phone to give me a quote and then it's 5 days after you pay for them to fix the phone and test the software.
Luckily the insurance is paying
i can't believe!!!!!
i cracked my screen too!!
it falls down from 50 centimeters and the glass cracked in 1000 pieces!! i'll post the picture soon.
tomorrow i'm going to call the italian call center ..
Ouch!
Got my HD2 yesterday, now it has a hairline crack in the screen about 1cm long - don't know how - it's only been in a jacket pocket and car cradle.
Screen too weak?
Edit: O2 shop said it's a scratch not a crack - so much for scratch resistant glass.

this is really sad!

I scratched my phone's screen :(

So I bought my phone one month ago, and boom, scratch. It just happened for putting it in and taking it of my pants pockets, so I guess our screen sucks balls.
Anyway, what should I do? I mean, that thing that got scratched is a protective piece of plastic that's over the real screen, right? Should I try the toothpaste method? Should I send it to Sony for repair (is it expensive?)?
if it's just a protector, then don't worry I have the same issue, I have 2 scratches over my screen protector, just change it from the markete, its pretty cheap, no need to be worry mate.

There's no preinstalled screen protector. So you have scratched plastic screen directly... however touches will still be recognized OK since actual digitizer is about 1mm under that plastic

yeah, but the problem is that now I have a 1mm blurry square (the scratch) in the middle of my screen, which is annoying because everything displayed under it becomes blurry and darkened . Is it expensive to repair?
Goddamit, this is depressing me
you could've used a leather case, but now it will cost you ..
I guess you should have bought a gorilla glass device . My x8 once felt to the ground and I got the pieces of it, but didn´t make anything to the screen . But screens can be replaced, you just need to buy a new one, I changed the screens of two of older phones I had on past
My LCD screen itself is damaged. There is a small spot near the upper right of the screen that is slightly brighter if a pure white image is shown. It is definitely lcd damage. We're in the same boat .

No, I think it's not a screen damage. My phone has got this too. I think it's a factory fault. (I see when it sould be a homogene black "colour")

Now I feel better. It is quite slight such that usually it is quite hard to spot it unless there is a pure white background. One more thing, does your spot have a pressure distortion (the grey coloured waves that appear when you press the screen too hard) when you are pressing another part of the screen too hard?
Maybe you get lucky and get a cypress one

Anyway, our screen is harder to scratch compared to a normal one.. Were you wearing jeans, i'm asking this because they usually have some metal pins in the pockets?
And the reason why i don't have a single scratch on my phone is: http://www.orkio.com/db/pictures/modules/PDT/PDT060207001/201031016115830195.jpg

Erm, no. My screen is brigther on the right side when there should be black on the screen. There is no colour disortion when I push harder (and to be honest I never push harder, because it don't need to be pressed harder), and when the phone is on and ready, this brightness difference absolutely not noticable. Only on homogene black screen.
BUT that doesn't mean your phone has been damaged! But if it worries you, then take it back to your local store, and they'll change it with guarantee, I think. Don't worry

It's pretty neat
I just pointed to the fact that any person who has a touch-screen mobile should buy a mobile-wallet as soon as possible. They're cheap, I mean much cheeper than repair a broken phone
Well, I got some of it off by using car polisher, haha. It is not completely gone, but at least it doesn't distort what's underneath it anymore. I am buying one of those screen protectors ASAP, but I'm not getting a phone wallet. That's a bit overkill for me.

I am returning my first SGS3 today as there is a gap between the glass and the casing.
Dust is building up in it and it looks rather unsightly.
I was just wondering if it's just me or not.

I just ran my nail along the gap and managed to dig out the few flakes of dust in there, so a toothbrush should work fine.
afaik all the samsung mobiles i have used had micro gaps, its the way it is designed. cant notice the gap in s3 as it is white, but it will have it surely.
btw the micro gap is required to absorb the shocks. else all the shock will reach out the screen easily.
The problem I have is that on the left side the gap is quite substantial. Where as there is no gap at all on the right side.
It's like the whole glass part it too far over to the right.
I have seen another blue S3 at Phone 4u and there it an equal gap on either side; so I know for sure there is a problem with this batch at the 3 store.
My white one has no such gap. At least nothing I can discern anyway...

I thought there was one, it is moving slightly. But guess that's good, firmness bad for drops.
It is also an optical illusion! Depending on the lighting angle. Does it look like a big gap on the left? Flip the phone upside down, the gap is still on the left it doesn't flip. Not worried now after noticing it, you had me for 20sec.
