So I am running s7 edge qualcom 6.0.1 T-mobile
I successfully rooted my device. However, I decided to go back to stock. So I put into developer mode and into recovery.
I opened ODIN - prince comsey because I used this version of ODIN to root the device.
I put in a stock version of t-mobile I found online.
and there was an error.
I tried to turn off the phone but it went into "please use smart switch for recovery"
Now smart switch doesn't work since my device still technically rooted.
I am currently trying different stock roms but am really panicked right now.
Please if anyone can offer any advice.
I am using Odin 3.12 now instead of the prince comsy version to try to flash a stock rom.
I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Yeah I've tried 3 different version of Odin no luck. Didn't use TWRP. I flashed root using Odin then cmd prompted fastboot files and superSU.
Strange thing is now on recovery mode my warrany counter is 0x0 but binary is custom.
Did you try the Emergency Device Initialisiation in Smart Switch?
Might want to try and get another stock file.

Good afternoon guys,
i have a big issue with my galaxy s5 SM-G900S (korean version). I bought it as a refurbished device. Knox was on 0x1 so something may have been modified.
It came with the stock (?!) android 4.4.2 from march14. I tried to update but it returned a registration error. Probably because knox is 0x1
In any case, I activated usb debugging and tried to root the phone using cfautoroot and the corresponding root file: CF-Auto-Root-klteskt-klteskt-smg900s.zip which I still assume to be the correct one.
I used odin for flashing. The device was properly connected (blue).
Everything seemed to go smooth until the phone restart when it said "recovery is not seandroid enforcing". I tried several times with both odin 3.07 and 3.09 but i cannot pass this step. I also tried the method to untick auto reboot, shut the phone down manually and boot into recovery mode but it failed.
This means I am now stuck in the bootloop. I can access download mode, but i cannot reach recovery mode. Also the phone is not recognized by the computer if i try to connect it to adb, kies etc. Odin seems to connect properly still.
Alright how should i proceed now?? My actual target is to flash a custom rom. I will need to go for a dirty flash now correct? Should I flash a stock rom with odin? If yes, which one?
Please support me a bit, I am very frustrated on this topic, especially cause I still dont realize my mistake......
Merry Christmas and greets from Bavaria, Germany.

Flash the stock firmware to get out of boot loop. After flashing the stock firmware, everything should be working fine and booting again. Instead of using CF auto root, flash a custom recovery like TWRP and then use it to flash the SuperSU zip.

Alright, Im back to stock android 4.4.2 now. Works perfect, aside from registration. If I click on "update now" it shows: SKT-USIM required.
Can someone link a detailed guide for flashing cm13? I checked the web but i still dont entirely understand.
In any case I do not want to risk going into a tricky situation once more.....
Thanks in advance.

Hi.
I am currently stuck at a blue screen that says "an error has occured while updating the device software." I rooted which went fine, but when I went to add TWRP I was unable to access recovery. Each time I would try to access recovery it would say something like "system software not authorized by ATT has been found on your phone." So I decided to revert back to stock using Odin and the firmware from Sammobile, that however failed and now I'm stuck on the "an error has occured while updating the device software."
- I can get into download mode
- I can NOT get into recovery and havent been able to since I rooted
- I had just upgraded to 7.0 ota right before I rooted
- I've tried flashing with Kies however it just keeps asking me to enter a model number
- I've tried flashing with Smart Switch but after I enter the model number and serial number the app closes and nothing happens
- Odin fails everytime, have also tried patched Odin which I used to root and fails as well
Edit: Could it be that I need to flash 7.0 firmware instead of 6.0.1? I read something about the bootloader not allowing downgrades?
Please help?

Why would you try installing TWRP on a AT&T S7 Edge which the bootloader is locked, that's one reason you can't go to recovery, basically you bricked your AT&T S7 Edge, try to odin Stock AT&T S7 Edge Nougat see if that gives you recovery back, and do not try installing TWRP again, if your able to Odin back to stock, good luck!

I'll try that. And why? My own incompetence I suppose....however I couldn't access stock recovery after I rooted either, before I tried to install TWRP, so I'm not sure how that factors in?

Flashing nougat worked! Just wanted to say thank you for your input!
I recently picked up 2 edges a Verizon and ATT variant, I flashed the Verizon phone succesfully to G935U with this firmware http://i.imgur.com/JuIeA6g.jpg
(The 4-file link in Step 2 https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...de-flashing-sm-935u-firmware-verizon-t3415145 )
Since that went smoothly I decided to run Odin and flash that firmware onto the ATT Edge, ( original FW is g935aucs4apk1 )
It didn't work, I recall that it got stuck at Setup Connection. So I rebooted the phone and it took me into Recovery mode, where all the CHECKS failed. So the ROM has effectively been wiped; leaving me with just the Recovery menu and DOWNLOAD screens.
Is there any way of getting my self out of this?
Fixed it. Ended up clicking Re-partition and Flash Bootloader in Odin then flashing 4-files from the T-Mobile Nougat firmware using the PrinceComsy 3.12 Odin
Not my ideal way to do this, i'm sure I've lost root potential, but I have a working phone! (w/ No xposed )

As long as you are still on bootloader 4 (and you are, since to my knowledge there isn't a higher version) you can still root your device and return it to MM if necessary. It may take some effort, but it's doable.
Hi everyone, I wanted to put a root issue on the Galaxy S7 edge.
I installed via Odin the latest version of ITV PDA G935FXXU1DQIC and CSC G935FITV1DQI1.
Once you've finished flashing once, I put it back in Download Mode and always flash through Odin the latest version of AutoRoot.
However, the phone still hangs before loading with a screen that warns me that the integrity of the system has not been checked out. I had tried to disable all security settings several times, but nothing. Once I install the root the phone gives me an error telling me that to reset the device I should do a factory reset.
How can I fix it is what? With previous firmware it did not work out what.

If you are using Chainfire's Autoroot it wont work on Nougat.. if you use some third-party AutoRoot i can't help you.
Best way i can recommend to you is to flash latest TWRP and easly get root also you can flash some of great custom roms you can get here!
I've been using my S8 G950F for one week (Nougat Stock, don't recall which specific rom, no root nor nothing) until it suddenly froze, tried to reboot but couldn't get past the Samsung logo screen. I tried to flash a stock firmware using Odin but got a Fail with the Device Info error which I could successfully fix with the so well known trick of getting back to download mode real quick.
Now I can flash any rom I want (downloaded from Updato) without any issues (PASS on odin), but no matter what ROM I flash I still can't get past the Samsung logo. I tried flashing both Nougat (AQF7 and AQL5), Oreo (CRAP, CRC7 and CRD7) using Oding 3.12.3 and 3.13.1 (for Oreo roms).
I also tried using Prince Comsy's Odin and once again got the Device Info error but using the same trick as before I could flash a Nougat rom but still can't get past the Samsung logo.
Is there anything I'm doing wrong? Should I flash any particular ROM or in a specific order? Should I try with other Odin version? KIES doesn't detect my device.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I just don't know what else to try and I can't find nobody nobody that has had the same issue I'm facing.
Thanks in advance! Any additional info you may need just ask me!
PS: one thing that caught my attention is that when I go to download mode it says: Knox 0x0 and "System Status: Custom". Is that alright?
