Hello, I'm thinking about replacing my Nexus 7 2013 with this tablet I only want for movies and reading my question is does this tab support the HEVC codec? And how good does it play these files.

With the new Kindle FireHD specs released, and the resolution being the same as the Nexus7- does that mean there will be an APK that will be available and usable on the Nexus 7?
It is my understanding the existing APK has issues due to screen resolution.
Although it is speculative- how long do you guys think it will be before one is available?

That would be nice I have a lot of Amazon Instant videos! I have wondered why amazon has not released their video software, since they have there MP3 and Kindle software available.

I am 98.37% certain that the reason the curent apk doesn't work has to do with it being only compatible with gingerbread. Its just a matter of time before a sys dump yields the new APK
Hello All,
I recently bought a Tab 4 8.0 (T-337A). I just wanted to know does MHL work with this? Or Miracast would be a better option?
I also have a Note 5. So an all round performer would be preferred. But the main goal is to connect the Tab 4 to the TV.

Ive been personally using chromecast and its good, havent found anything bad about it, my best 35$ ive spent you can put your tv show etc on chromecast and shut down tablet and watch it.
But i heard there are limited apps. And with Miracast you can just about do anything. For $20 more, you can get a lot more out of it isn't it?

There is also option to show real time device using but on my phone kt just crashed and rebooted phone, havent tried on tablet. It was beta test of it so google is developing real time streaming to tv. Also ive heard about miracast that it has pretty noticeable delay. Ive used chrome remote control and it has no delay between my PC and tablet, so i belive that google can make chromecast faster than miracast. At this moment miracast is better but it might change when update comes official and not a test.
Ok Cool! Thanks for the inputs!

afaik the tab4 is not mhl capable.
I think 10.1 is MHL compatible. But have not been able to find anything concrete about the 8.0. That is why i asked before getting anything.
I keep seeing conflicting info, is there a way to get Amazon Prime Video on my Nexus-Player, as a Prime customer??? I have installed Amazon Underground but it is still asking for Prime Video to be installed, which I haven't found.
There is a method using Amazon Underground as well as a custom launcher hosted here somewhere called Prime Video Launcher which handles the proper login needed. However, the video quality seems to be limited to 480p, and the apps don't work well at all without a keyboard/mouse.
Huge headache. I gave up. Amazon doesn't want my money bad enough.

Sorry
Has anyone tried the amazon video for the nvidia shield?

I have a Roku and fireTV boxes, but since I really like streamers I bought a Nexus Player this week, because I saw a comparison video with a MiBox and the Nexus was running Android 7.1 and recent security update. I bought an OTG Ethernet adapter from Amazon to go with it. After factory resetting the player it was like setting up a brand new streamer. Anyway, Amazon Video is what we all want, of course, if we have a Prime membership. I knew the Shield had recently gotten the app and since the Nexus is still being supported with updates very well I have to wonder, reasonably I think, if there is a real chance the Nexus will get the app. I did install the APK for Amazon Video and like everybody else it installs, you can watch trailers, but that's as far as it goes.
Anybody think there is any chance the deal will be done for the Nexus Player? thanks!
I doubt it. I finally gave up and bought the Shield.

Did anyone try the newly released Prime Video app from google play (http://www.androidauthority.com/amazon-prime-video-app-arrives-us-play-store-797134/)?

wont install, I believe because its not an x86 app as the nexus player is using an intel x86 processor and not the more common ARM or ARM64 in phones (if it where you could just deal with a portrait/phone/touch based UI on a tv until you get to video playing back). Also its supposedly (according to reddit) the same app countries other than USA have had in the play store for some time, amazon only today flagged it as install-able by the USA market.
Ok, was suspicious about the x86 proc. Not many devices left using it. Cheers.

I'm not sure if it's a x86 thing.
I just updated the Amazon Prime Video app (current version 3.0.209.146341) through the Play Store on my wife's Asus Memo Pad 7 ME572C, and that tablet has an Intel Atom Z3560 (quad-core 1.83GHz / PowerVR G6430 with 2GB RAM / 16GB memory) in it. The Nexus Player has the exact same SoC, I believe.
I would imagine that the Prime Video app doesn't show up on the Play Store because it doesn't have a Leanback UI so it's not flagged as compatible for the Nexus Player. That's my guess, anyway.
Hi. I have a p7510. Today, in 2018, what is the best rom? Fast and stable. I need to play cartoons to my son (mp4, mkv ecc).
Thanks
Hi all, I just bought the Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus (TB-X606F) and read about the widevine L3 problem. It's been a problem since day 1 the tablet was released. It seems like there was firmware updates last year that solved the problem, changing widevine from L1 to L3 and finally users can watch HD quality on Netflix and other streaming platforms? Can any current users or Lenovo confirm that it is true and it is possible to watch HD with this device on netflix/prime/hbo/disney now? If not I'll need to return it, I haven't open and use the tablet yet.
Why don't you ask the support directly from the manufacturer???
