Power Supply/USB Options keeps popping up when unplugged.
I know people say to pull your sdcard, then reboot twice...I've tried it. No luck. Appears to be an issue with both Marshmallow and Nougat. Anybody have a fix or suggestions other than completely silencing and blocking notifications for it?
Below are a few pics. Very frustrating to hear this thing beeping randomly and when you plug in the cable...the notification disappears. Total opposite of what it should do.

Do you have some debris in your USB port that could be shorting out some of the pins? Maybe try blowing some compressed air in there to clear it out?
How did you fix Power Supply / USB Options Issue?
Hi. Did you get this resolved? If so, how. I am experiencing the same problems.
I also have this bug. Cleaned out my USB port already.

Had you got it fixed? Have you tried hard reset, did it help or that bug left? So, is it software bug glitch or matters are worse and mobo replacement needed?
Mine did this!
It all started by not charging one day with my car charger.
That night I charged for an hour with a wall charger. When I grabbed the USB connector to pull the cable out of the phone, the connector was so hot it almost burned my fingers!
The next day I tried 3 different cables, one cable finally started doing what you described.
The phone never would charge again. I tried cleaning it factory reset (multiple times).
I finally wrote if off to a bad USB port on the phone and so
The phone has been sitting in b a drawer ever since.
How to solve this problem?

I also have been having this issue for about a month now, have done everything that has been posted, any new news?

Hi, wonder if someone else has had this problem.
My HD 2 will only sleep when on mains power. If it on battery when I put into sleep with the on/off button it comes back on after 1.5 seconds. Same if you wait 30 secs for it to go into sleep. To fix it (temporary) I have to put it on the mains for about a minute and then it behaves itself until the battery is about 50% and then it won't sleep again. This obviously drains the battery.
I have 'hard reset' the device and it is still the same. I also updated the rom from Vodafone support site. Still can't fix it.
Can anybody out there help please, it's driving me mad!
I have this happen every so often. fixed by plugging into the usb cable (doesn'tneed to be plugged in). what I understand happens is in the usb port a connection gets wobbled and stops sleep. sometimes I have to plug it in and out a couple of times.
Thanks
Thanks, didn't try it without power. I'll just carry a mini usb connector with me! Thanks again.
that's what I've started doing.
The USB insert actually doesn't work
Hi, tried the fix suggested but it doesn't work for me. I have to have the power supply live to make a difference.
Any other ideas?
sometimes it can take a few attempts. I normally soft reset first to see if that fixed it first. other than that I don't know.
sorry!
mine's started doing this now.. yey! rinses the battery too while its stuck on.
Tried a hard reset, even a different ROM and hasn't fixed it.
I'll try a different radio next
Anyone else got any ideas? is there some software that can monitor inputs to see what it is that's waking it up?
Spike
^ different radio didn't fix
Hey.
I had this, but after a while it didn't only do it on mains.
It started to do it all the time, and as you can imagine that was killing the battery.
I tried everything! took everything back to exactly how I got it and it still did it.
so I took it in for repair, they sent it back to me and it had clearly been opened up, and the screen was brand new.
If yours is still under warenty, take it to get fixed.
I spent a little over a month looking fro a fix and nothing worked at all.
Last 3 days i also have this problem....
Anyone found what is causing it or sending it for repair is the only thing to do..
anyone please?...
Press a button .. fixed
Haha
Mine does this too all of the sudden.
There is a very, very easy fix for this...
press the right lower button (The hang-up button)
Battery life is extended from 1 day max to 2-3 days standby even!
It used to go to sleep automatically tho.
I think I probably 'tweaked' it with the tweaking tools and that's why
it does it. I'm too lazy to turn it off - and - to be honest - it's good if it's on all the time. At least my GPS won't just stop the readings I take all of the sudden.
And after I'm all done playing with Navigation, I can still press the little button.
(It really IS NOT that much of a problem to quickly press it)

You might want to install the S2U2 program, and let it manage your power settings. I've found it to be much steadier and more reliable, without those sudden wake-ups and battery draining issues.
I don't think it has anything to do with software.
It is clearly a hardware issue
I had the same problem. After inspecting the usb close, i found that there is some dirt and/or corrosion at the contacts.
I cleaned them up using some spray for electic contacts and problem has gone for almost 1 week now.
I read somewhere on XDA that an other member tryied the same thing, problem solved but came back after a while...
Anyway the fact that i cleaned the usb and the problem is gone for now shows that is clearly a problem with this part of the phone..
solved
i two have had this problem and have just found out how to sort it out. basically i tried everything new radio, rom, getting rid of CHT
and in the end all it was is the usb connection!!!!
all you have to do when unplugging your usb cable is make it come out on a angle left to right. there are obviously some very delicate contacts that get knocked out of kilter making the phone think its still on mains power when its not hence never turning off
you can confirm this error by unplugging your phone going into backlight settings and seeing if you can adjust you light setting on battery power if when you adjust your light setting nothing happens you got the same prob as me
Well, mine was fixed by a hard reset. Been testing it since, and it hasn't failed to go to sleep now.
Since there's a few different "fixes". might be a couple separate actual causes.
Started facing same problem when was on hols in +40 and quite humid atmosphere. Connecting cable helps but only if the cable is plugged in power socket or computer. And that is actually a problem as I do switch often between Android and WM and after restart HD2 doesn't go to sleep
Did this two months ago with good results ;-)

When I suffered from this problem a couple of months ago, I was flummoxed at first.
But then I decided to use a strong (20 diopter) magnifying glass to look at the ports and buttons of the phone. I could not imagine the amount of gunk I found inside the USB slot.
I cleaned with a very very small cotton swab dabbed in cleaning alcohol and wound around a pin and the problem was solved. Power consumption at rest went down from 30-40 to 4-9 mAh.
I now do this every few weeks.
I try the following, it works :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8010471#post8010471
Had it for over 3 weeks. Never had one single problem, reboot, etc.
Was working fine today, left it on the desk for a bit, went to use it again....Nothing. Press power button, screen does not turn on at all. Red light is flashing sometimes. Tried plugging into the wall charger, not charging, nothing shows up.
If I make a phone call to it, it rings but nothing on screen shows up and pick up call obviously. Now its flashing red/green LED's, I just tried sending it an e-mail and could hear the e-mail sound so its a live but the screen is completely dead.
I can fix mostly anything on a PC but sort of a noob when it comes to smartphones. Should I pull the battery? How do I reset it without erasing any data? I'm going to take it to the place I bought it from later today but is there anything I can do?
Anyone have a similar problem before? I tried searching on the net but can't really come up with anything.
I had that once before... just pull the battery...

I did that and the only thing that changed was it was flashing More LED colors instead of just red.
I'm going to try pulling the battery now. Hopefully its not too hard to do...
Does this happen often to you guys? Anything that causes it?

You know how to take the back case off right? What are you doing on XDA if you have never opened your phone before lol.
Software bugs are the likely cause. My screen locks up every once in a while and I am unable to turn it back on..battery pull always resolves it. When in doubt, pull the battery.
Pulled the battery and everything is fine. Thanks everyone.
You can probably delete this thread if you'd like.
If its a software bug, probably all the apps....right??
I just rooted by phone with this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45692679
(basically replace a file g2_security on the sdcard and reboot)
After the root was complete and I'd rebooted the phone a couple times, my USB connection keeps getting lost. This started exactly after the root, so I assume it's somehow related. Has anyone else seen this problem?
So far my attempt to fix it has only included disabling usb debugging and changing the usb mode to charge only. Other suggestions welcomed.

Similar issue with mine after root. Regardless of what setting its on it will charge through the Aux but wont play music through apps like it did before in my car. Music will come out of the speakers but the car wont recognize the phone. Shows "AUX not recognized" Might go back to stock to see what it was.
I am having issues charging as well.
This morning the phone while showing the charge icon in the battery display only was at 55%. I noticed by accident that when the screen is off and I get a notification via text or mail that charging quits. The icon shows as if it charging but the red LED no longer is visible and if you have the screen on long enough the % begins to decrease. I have to unplug and plug again for the charging to take hold.
Would anyone else mind testing a text when the screen is off, charger on and see if this disables their charge?
My problem seemed to stop after a few hours.. I don't know what changed. The host computer didn't reboot, the phone did reboot maybe another time or two, the cable stayed the same. No idea what happened.
Noob here... be gentle Not sure what happened.. suddenly lost 'charging rapidly' message on lock screen with stock charger. I used a recommended Amazon.ca smart charger just prior for about a week. Done everything outside of a factory reset (trying to avoid that). Still.. I swear it's charging even faster than usual. Plug it in at 14% and it shows 38 minutes remaining?? Any ideas why I might have lost the 'charging rapidly' message and should I be concerned overall?

Happened to me too. I had to clean all the pocket Trump from inside the charging port..

Tried that...power off, hold power and volume down, select recovery, when you see the Android pic hold power and it restarts after a few seconds. Still...nothing. Tried it twice. Thanks for the reply.

Tried that ... inspection showed nothing in the port anyway. Contacts look clear. Still no message showing. Hope I didn't do some damage with that non OEM smart charger. Popped a resistor or something like that..
Fixed ???? ! The latest N update plus clearing the cache ...twice... suddenly sparked the 'charging rapidly' message. Whew! Not sure what happened there exactly but the end result is surely welcome. Thanks for the tips friends...
I just got my device and of course I was intrigued by its water resistance so I tested it out. After a couple of hours, I went to charge it and I got a moisture warning: saying that for my safety, since there was moisture in the Type-C port, the device would not charge. I dried it out as best as I could and then rebooted my device and now when I go to plug it in, it spazzes out and charges and stops repeatedly and makes the charging noise constantly. I haven't tried to let it dry overnight yet, but I'm just putting this thread out there to see if anyone has any tips, besides not dunking my phone underwater, or if anyone else has experienced this too.
The S7 has this feature. Let it sit in rice or silica. Turn it off for the night.

It doesn't give me the moisture warning anymore though, it just charges and stops charging rapidly.
RMA it. IP68 means 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes...if it wonks out with less than that, its defective.
I had my S7 Edge underwater for over an hour at the pool last summer, trying to see if I could drown it, and it held up like a champ.

After a day, it's working now. Thank goodness for its amazing battery life. But, I found another charging issue, check out my new thread.
Same issue with me. And I didn't find any solution for that yet.
Hope now your mobile will be ok, if not then first you need to put it on service center they will suggest you better idea.
My phone hasn't been anywhere near water and I haven't been able to charge my phone (unless I turn it off) due to the moisture warning. Before this warning started to appear my phone started rapidly making the noise the phone makes when plugging in in and flashing the usb notification even though I wasn't plugging it in. It was super annoying because it did it every second for a long time. That has since stopped but everytime I try to plug it in I get the moisture in charging port notification.
Same situation here. I tried to put G6 in a rice over night, without help.
Also I put my device on a coffee machine several hours to get rid of "phantom moisture", without any results at all. I think it's now software related problem.
By the way i can't charge my battery over 50%, to charge it until 50% I need to restart device with attached USB. By the way notification with vibration effect every second is freaking me out.
If someone find any solution please share...

Exact same thing happened to me. Some night the bogus moisture warning would interrupt the charging that had started.
By luck and coincedence, I had a wireless charger at work,. and have just received 2 more for home from a woot deal.
If it wasnt for them I'd be screwed.
I took a chance on LG this time. Never again.
Took this without a case on in the pool, clearly lol no issues at all. Yes at 1st it did tell me moisture present. But I didn't need to charge. Later before charging I did take a air can and blow out the port just to be safe and all was fine.
My G6 was submerged for about 5 seconds, and this about a month ago, but now every time I go to charge it, it says that charging is blocked due to moisture detection. I have a feeling that it being hot and humid out and it being in my pocket doesn't help. I need to reboot the phone, and it will usually start charging after several attempts. Haven't tried leaving it in rice yet, but will give it a shot.
Had the same issue as the OP. The only sure fire way I have been able to get my phone to not pop the moisture message and charge is to plug in the phone, and reboot leaving the phone plugged in. It works every time so far.
Software issue?
I have started to suffer the same exact issue LG G6 and I've also not brought the phone anywhere near water or moisture. I also found the charging workaround, charging they phone while it is off. So I leaning towards agreeing it's a software issue, could it be from installing something like Avast? that's the only application I've installed recently that I can recall.
Possibly Solved
Have had the same issue since this last update that was pushed out. Let me ask everyone. Did the "Hi Security" app come on your G6 as well??? I cleared the cache on the app and have not had the issue come back so far. Like everyone else here, I've tried EVERYTHING!!! But this seems to be holding.
possible solution
Hi all,
I think I have found a solution that is working for me. Maybe others can give it a go and see if this is a work around?
For me, as a developer I had DEVELOPER MODE set to on and when plugging in a USB cable to the computer, I had set the default option to always go to "File Transfer". I changed this back to just "Charging" as always and now my phone doesn't seem to have that annoying moisture warning when I go to charge my phone.
Can anyone else give it a go?
thanks!

Still seeing this issue and I don't have Avast on my phone. My guess is that it the software for the sensor is overly aggressive or not clearing the flag when you do get some moisture in there.
I have been probing testing this issue and found if I also plug the phone in very slowly sometimes it works fine. Only about 50% of the time though. Its weird. The plug it in and reboot method works pretty much every time.

Giving this a try will let you know how it works for me!
It's definitely a software issue
I posted that after clearing the cache on "HiSecurity." The error seemed to stop popping up. So I dug in deeper. I can't find where to get to developer mode. I hope someone can share that process??
However in the meantime, I went to Apps, View System Apps(The upper right corner 3 dots), Special Access, Modify System Settings, Go down to LG System Server, tap, and select "no" for the write system settings.
Also under "show system" you can scroll down to "LG System Server", tap. tap "notifications", and finally tap "silent"
This will at least get rid of the annoying vibration every few seconds along with the sound. It does not however completely get rid of the "moisture in charge port" message when plugging in charger.
We need to find out what it was from the last system update, caused this issue, that is exactly when it started on mine and many other people. It's not hardware, software is what we need to be trying to filter out.
